After a couple of hours worth of familiarization with the tanks, Isaac had to admit he was impressed. "Alright yeah you're right, the outside doesn't look like much but the insides fuckin high speed" he remarked while looking onward at the row of tanks. "So then, when's the first live fire? Gotta know how to handle them under the stress of combat right? I want every tank ready to go and firing by tonight!" he said excitedly.

"Thanks Private" he said taking the paint from the young soldier. He slapped the grapefruit stencil on the turret of his tank and began painting it a dull burnt orange against an Olive Drab Green background. He then thought about what to name his tank and became lost in thought.

The instructor was slightly annoyed that the Chief wanted a life fire exercise so soon but he decided to go with it. "Grapefruit Squadron, Cherry Squadron, and Mango Squadron will engage in a military exercise with 100 men of the 8th Infantry Company approximately two days from now in the desert south of New Plymouth. You will be equipped with special MILES laser gear and the 8th Infantry will be dressing up as modern-day insurgents, using guerrilla tactics and hit-and-run strikes. Your team will be a mainly armored force with some infantry elements."

"Wonderful, thank you" Isaac said getting down from his freshly painted tank. "Are you in this squadron or do you fall under someone else?" he asked the officer. He looked at the other tanks and wanted to meet his men soon and get their grapefruits painted on.

"I'm not with any squadron, I just teach soldiers how to operate vehicles." Later, the rest of the squadron arrived. They were experienced on how to operate and use the tanks, almost more so than Isaac was. They all saluted him and asked them what they needed to do.

You don't need to physically harm them, just yell at them or something like that. Make them so disciplined as to snap at attention when hearing your voice. If you stop getting physical on them, they might not be so afraid of you to run away."

It was getting late, but Dezmond had to make the decision. Empire or technation? Which could give back the greatest return on his investments. He considered the fact that he was being helped by Empire... but technation was starting to become a rising giant.... Dezmond knew just what to do. He invested 150,000 into empire, and 150,000 into technation. Now, he just had to hope and wait for a profitable return.

Oasis Grand Hotel, Oasis, Columbia
Senator John Highshore and Radical Left member Maria Stawski were getting dressed after their weekly "meeting". They choose to come to oasis so there was less chance of being found out, there worst nightmare was for someone to kiwi their affair. Today was the day that nightmare came true when the hotel room door came crashing in, wood flying everywhere. In the doorway stood a very large man both in height and weight. "What the hell are you doing Maria," the man yelled. Maria hurriedly covered herself up, "God damn Jim are you crazy." The man came closer into the room, "I ain't crazy but you are if you think I'm gonna let him have you." Senator Highshore just looked at the two terrified as he had no idea what was going on. "Jim we've been divorced for 5 years and your married," Maria said to her ex husband. The man pulled out a gun and pointed it at her, "I don't care if I can't have you nobody can." He shot her in her head and the Senator, who was now in a fetal position in the corner, let out a very feminine high pitched scream. Jim pointed the gun at him and shot him twice in his stomach, before turning and walking out of the room. Jim was arrested as soon as he entered the lobby and when the police reached the room the Senator has bled out.

CW-5 Isaac Hidalgo
Northern Military Base
Jabal Tawil

Isaac thought he felt a bit irritation in the officers voice but tossed that thought aside. He awaited his squadron on top of his tank and took in the scenery of the base. It had been such a long time since he was in the military, he in fact quite missed it. Soldiers here and there moving, conducting PT, marching, doing their jobs, coming to and fro from the PX, and of course the inevitable shammers escaping duty. They arrived not too long afterwards and rendered the hand salute. He stood from the top of his turret and returned the salute, with a crisp precision from his days as a first sergeant. His next orders were to do the same as he had to his, paint an image of a grapefruit on both sides of the turrets and choose a name for their vehicle. "Before you boys start, who's platoon daddy here?" he asked, looking at each man individually.

Nobody knew what platoon daddy meant. They all just looked at each other and the Chief confusedly with no words coming out of their mouth. A corporal stepped in front and cleared his throat before talking. "What's a platoon daddy, sir?"

Everyone then knew what it was and then let out a sign of relief. But the corporal still stood and decided to ask another question. "We don't have one, sir. The highest ranking soldier, except you, of course, is me."

General Dunn was slightly amused by Williams' complete lack of knowledge about the vehicles that the Columbians actually had. "They're Charioteer tank destroyers," Dunn said. "And you want us to get a couple hundred tanks when we barely have 40? Whatever. I will inspect your troops." Dunn came over to the cadets. His menacing, creepy-looking gas mask secretly terrified the cadets. But they didn't show it. The General then walked out of the college but told Dietrich to come with him for a short while.

Solomon Daniels
The National Civic Faction
Town Square, Oasis

"-In conclusion I wish to say I am a Columbian , and a proud one at that, who loves his nation and the people within it with all my heart. As a citizen of this proud nation the responsibility of it’s upkeep is mine along with all of yours and whenever there is a problem that affects this nation ultimately it is our duty to fix that problem together as a whole. The path we must travel will be long and difficult, but so long as we work together and keep our hearts filled with are hopes and dreams, we will pull through strong as ever. The human race is a passionate one, full of emotion, and poetry, ideas and inspirations. We love to love, and we adore each other, and we understand that when change comes about we must face it head on. Change is a part of the universe and is a part of our nature, and it is in our nature that whenever there be a problem or we need to give a helping hand we should do something. But we also understand that we must not be too rash for if we are to swift only chaos and a bitter taste in are mouth will remain We need to pursue as a whole united peoples rather a fractured morass or it won’t work. We once were small groups of people huddled around fires, and now we command armies, navies, and fleets of planes, doing things that no one thought we were capable of doing. We can and will be great striving for the best, for perfection. Though perfection is not truly attainable it is a worthwhile to attempt. Better to reach for the stars and fall short than be a coward who sticks to the dirt."

Applause was what was heard from the surrounding crowd. In this city known as Oasis a great event was occurring, and I was at the center of it all. My Faction had planned a large scale demonstration in this city, we made it a promise of ours and we delivered in flying colors. Member of the Faction from across the nation converged here and came out in style aiding in demonstrations and parades. The morass of people was a stunning sight in such a small nation with an indeterminable number that wouldn't surprise me if it was ~1000 strong.

It was in part spontaneous prompted by my call on my network that I was planning on speaking in the City of Oasis and wanted everyone to come out and show their support and show everyone what we are made of. I bathed in the praise and the love of my brothers and sisters, and I too adored them completely and utterly. This display was a meant as a show of force to show all that in Oasis the NCF were the main power among the people, especially so in regards to the Middle-Class. When we came we demonstrated with parades, constant public speeches by High Ranking members of the Faction, and a large scale media campaign done by my News Network to saturate the airwaves directed towards the city. The Political Platform was hashed out via consensus, a budget was proposed and ultimately confirmed, and candidates for office were either confirmed or denied for various reasons ranging from poor political aptitude all the way to conduct in their personal life.

The Senate Roster was the most important thing to be considered and was the first thing we decided to make out. The Roster was rather large and it's membership composed of candidates who were subject to two rounds of voting with the first round being that of petitions to determine who could be on the roster and the second determining who would be on the Roster and their place. Though I was already the Political leader of the NCF in order to help lead the charge when are Faction entered the political stage I put my name out as a potential candidate for Senate and not surprising to anyone easily gained the nomination by my party as first on the Roster. Depending on ones place on the Roster it would determine ones chances to becoming members of the Senate, all members would be running for the Faction but as a whole when the vote came in the ones seats would be distributed in order from first to last. Albert Ross who was my First-Lieutenant, alongside being Military leader of the NCF, placed second on the List. My Second Lieutenant Isaac Dougall did not run and would remain as the potential NCF nominee for Secretary of Justice In the next government as an incumbent.

Though to some degree tempting we chose not to run a Presidential candidate and instead choose to endorse another more larger party like the Pioneer or Progressive endorsed by the NCF Leadership. We were a small force and had to understand that. This would be are first time contesting elections on a national level but would certainly not be the last and with it we intended on making a difference no matter how small it would be. We will not live in fear of the darkness, instead the darkness would live in fear of us. When it was over I took a bow and walked off the stage.

Detroit Square, New Plymouth, Columbia
New Plymouth was the smallest city in Columbia with a population a little over 3,000. It was neglected by most of the mainstream parties who focused on the two larger cities, but it was a Progressive stronghold. In the 2015 elections the city voted nearly 85% progressive and was one of the main reasons the Progressives got a majority. The population was mostly middle and low class American minorities, mostly African American, who had come to Columbia for a better life, but had a hard time finding one. New Plymouth also played host to the Empire Electronics Factory, where all the companies electronic products were manufactured, providing for over 40% of the jobs.

James Harden founded the city as a haven for incoming African Americans and named it New Detroit, but James Andrews changed the cities name to New Plymouth and there was an influx of other immigrants. Now Senator Xavier King stood in Detroit Square in front of the statue of city founder Louis Harden. Mayor Harden introduced him and the crowd erupted in applause as he approached the podium. "Citizens of New Detroit it's a great day to be Columbian and it's a great day to be Progressive. Our small nation has grown from a measly 500 to now over 25,000 hard working people filled with dreams of a new beginning. The same dream that all of you had that parties like the Aristocratic Union and the Radical Left want to take from you. Many new parties continue to pop up on both sides of the spectrum but the Progressives remain the people's party. We spent this term laying the foundation for the nation, and we seemed to be the only party who cared about doing so as we were the only ones to propose any real legislation. It is the progressives who established the government and military, it was the progressives who established an education system for our youth, and it is the Progressives who will fight for you in 2017.

Now that the foundation is Kaye's we will begin focusing on more personal issues like healthcare coverage for the lower and middle class, building a public transport system to connect us with the "big" cities, and giving you, the people, more autonomy to govern yourselves. The 2017/2018 term will be all about making life in this country better for you the common man not big wigs in the capital or foreign investors who seek to use us. This is your nation and its about time that you get treated like it was. I don't make empty promises like other politicians everything I promise I will deliver. When you go to the polls in December remember who fought and continues to fight for you. Thank you and God bless." King walked off the stage and was met by his new protection detail he was forced to use. They proceeded to the city's Progressive headquarters where he met with the team about media advertising.

President Andrews, Grand Columbian Arena, Jamestown

The Grand Columbian Arena was not, in fact, a location where people battled to the death. Rather, it was a large stadium-esque structure used for speeches, usually political in nature, although it was occasionally used for other purposes. On this day (and many others near it; after all, it was election season), it was the location for its more traditional use, however, as this was the day that President Andrews was going to declare that he would throw his hat into the ring for a second term. He knew that in general, the public looked upon him favorably (mainly due to his more moderate stances, along with his honesty, a rare commodity these days), although he expected quite a few people to vote for someone who matched their political views more closely, for better or for worse. However, he wouldn't be too dismayed in the event that another candidate won the election. Andrews had still played the part of setting the wheels in motion to make Columbia into a great nation. He was confident that he would be remembered in his nation in the same way that George Washington was remembered in the United States.
Andrews walked up to the stage, accompanied by eight members of the Presidential Guard. His motorcade had been stored securely in an undisclosed location near the Arena, so they couldn't be tampered with. The President had recently celebrated his 45th birthday, nearly a month ago. Straightening his tie, he tapped the microphone with his index finger to make sure that it was working. The sound reverberating through the Arena, coming from the speakers, signified that they (as well as the microphone) were fully functional. He cleared his throat, and checked his watch. His watch read 7:00 sharp, meaning that it was time to begin his speech. Faces of all ages beamed at the president (although a man in the front row was staring at him with an amount of contempt that he found incredibly disturbing), and he decided that now, he should start speaking.
"My fellow Columbians, we may all come from different corners of the globe, we may hold ideological differences so extreme that they would function like Yin and Yang when compared, and we may have different morals codes, ethical problems, careers, lifestyles... even something as simple as keeping a cat instead of a dog can divide us. However, despite all of that, we've managed to create this great nation, persevering in something many others have failed at. We've practically built cities out of sand, and tamed the arid desert, almost conjuring water from thin air." President Andrews spoke, with pride in his voice. "But I didn't come here to gloat to those who have failed where we have succeeded. No, I've come here to present you all with what I think you'll agree is quite the dilemma. You see, if three-fourths of a country chooses to elect a candidate who believes that, I don't know, humans should be subservient to camels, then they have successfully alienated an entire quarter of their population. I am shocked, however, that the most common response to this is to give no one what they want. If you have a room full of children, most of which who want to eat cake, but some of which want to eat pie, what's going to happen when you give them all large bricks to eat? Are you going to have a room full of children, grateful that you chose to give them a fair and unbiased option? Or are you going to have a room full of unhappy children?" President Andrews asked the crowd.
"I don't need to answer that question for you. Now, make no mistake, I'm not likening the voters to children. That's simply a hypothetical example. A better option would be to give all of those children ice cream, something that they all at least somewhat like, even if it's not their favorite. Obviously, what I'm saying to you all is that, rather than an extremist politician who some of the population vilify to an extraordinary extent, you should choose a moderate politician. To do so would be the selfless choice, one in which, rather than living in a country you love to live in but everyone else hates to live in, you should choose to live in a country that everyone likes to live in. Although the unfortunate truth is that, in reality, that would be impossible, since there will always be at least one unhappy person. Still, we owe it to each other to do the best we can at this. I'm a moderate politician, leaning to the right-wing side, but I strive to represent every single person in this glorious nation, in some way. For example, some of you may have noticed that no two members of my cabinet are from the same political party, something that would be very unorthodox in a country like the United States." Andrews told the crowd, who listened intently. "I wish I could stay here all day talking to each and every one of you wonderful people who chose to attend my speech, but alas, I have a country to run. In closing, I'd like to declare my intention to run for a second term as the President of Columbia. I know that most of you were expecting this, I'd just like to officially declare my candidacy. I'm not going to force you to vote for someone who you don't think should run the nation, but I encourage all of you who don't think they'll be voting for me to at least give me the consideration that you would any other candidate. If you don't, that's alright, but I'd like to know why you didn't vote for me if you choose not to. Have a pleasant night, Columbia." he concluded, stepping off the stage. Many members of the audience applauded him, although he heard at least one faint boo, as he always did. Checking his watch, it read 8:05.

City square of Jamestown

Dezmond stood behind the curtain. He was on a platform in an outside event. He had gotten back from his commercial shoot about 5 hours ago. Currently he was scrolling through his investments on his phone. The returns looked like a promising 20%. He looked in the top right corner. 6:00. " Time to go." He said under his breath. He put his phone in his hip pocket and began to walk through the curtain. Immedieantly, his vision gave way to 600 people standing in front of the platform. A cheer went up, with the stray whistle here and there. Dezmond smiled at their applause. Were as most people deplored public speaking, he relished in it. He Loved it! He brought himself to the podium at the center of the platform and placed his hands on either side.

He looked up and out towards the crowd and smiled again. " My fellow Colombians." He began, low and smooth. " I have come here today to address the not the issues of our nation, but the solutions. I have not come to you as another politician screaming to you about how our nation is being torn apart and the only thing that can be done is to vote for them. No. I have come to offer a solution that will show to not only work for now and the future, but to thrive for now and the future!" He now began a little bit louder, as well as adding mild gesticulation. " We have, were others failed, created not only a stable country, but a prosperous country. Nearly all of the people living in our grand nation today came here with the idea and dream of creating an ideal and stoic society. We have made great strides in doing so, there is no doubt. But we have failed to recognize that we have left some behind. It has been only two years since our nation's founding and already we have seen several ghettos spring up across the nation. It has only been two years, and we have yet to our economy diversify beyond that of being a tax haven for big businesses. It has been two years, and we have yet to have a Colombian military staffed by Colombian citizens!" He showed a slight amount of anger in his voice, just to show he was serious. " We have done well in our short time since our founding, but we could do so much better. So much more."

" We must create a business climate that is suitable for the common man! Not for fat cats who keep getting fatter, but for the common hard working man! We need to create a situation in which John Smith or Jane Smith can start up a business here in Colombia and not be beaten down by regulation, over taxation, or laws favoring the rich over the poor. We need to build our economy from the ground up. Not from the top down!" The crowd gave up a roaring cheer for Dezmond. Dezmond kept a straight face, despite wanting desperately to smile. He continued on in his passion. " It is my dream to make Colombia not just some place for foreigners to dump their profits, but to make our grand nation an industrial giant. A nation that for once in it's history begins to export more than it imports!" He takes a breath." Finally, the military. I have been, and still am a Quaker. I have done stupid and violent things all my life. But as I got older, I realized that it was better to solve my problems with my words, not my fists. I have freely given my trust to people, and they in turn have given it to me. I cannot, however, trust men whom fight for money. They have no loyalty, they have no trust, they have stake in the future of Colombia, aside from a paycheck. We should not insure our national security in the hands of mercenaries, whom would just as soon betray us as they would fight for us! Colombia's military should be made of Colombian men and women! Regular people whom have joined to protect their friends and family, to bear the burden that others will not. To serve not for a paycheck, but to live for an ideal!" He said that last part quite loudly. The audience was on shouting at this point with full enthusiasm.

Dezmond composed himself. " When you go to the box, on election day. I want you to think about what you have seen all around you in the last two years. I want you to think " Can we do better?" If the answer is no, then I suggest you keep looking on for someone you agree with. If the answer is yes however, then please, elect me as your new senator. If elected, I will not go in to serve the myself, my image, or my party. I will go in to serve the public! Please, think deeply when elections come. Thank you, and good day." Dezmond gave a nod and proceeded to walk off stage. He heard the crowd cheer behind him. He loved that sound.

Lenin sat on a bench smoking a cigar when suddenly a Black BMW pulled up. Is it time to go already? He asked the driver. Yes it is. Lenin quickly got into the car. After a short ride they were at a studio in Jamestown. Lenin quickly climbed out of the car and ran into the studio. After a short walk up the stairs he was in a big room with 2 Cameras. Each one was ready to broadcast to Live TV. Hello Brothers and Sisters of Columbia, today I stand before you to announce my official candidacy for Senator on behalf of The Radical Left United Front.I promise to reform the education sector to make it more student friendly.
I promise to allocate more money to Welfare.
I promise to cut unemployment rates by half by introducing new jobs.
Finally I promise to do what's best for my country and NOT for myself like some other partys do. I promise to decrease racism and ban hate speech that is committed by Neo-Nazis.
Power to the people, stop the Nazis.

Dezmond sat down in the rather comfortable chair that was seated at a white plastic table, on which an array of microphones and other sound equipment lay. In front of him sat a dark black south Sudanese man. " And now, we have Pioneer party Whip speaking on the Commonwealth defense act." Dezmond smiles and nods to the radio announcer. He had booked a meeting with one of the local Oasis radio stations. This particular one was sympathetic to the Pioneer Party, so they let him speak freely. " Thank you Modae. My fellow Colombians. A few weeks ago, the senate purposed a bill asking for a national, unified citizen's army. If this bill is passed, it will mean that Colombia no longer relies on 'hired guns' to defend her people. Some in our military object to this use, as they do not trust the common man. I tell you today, that we are not truly safe, until we take up our own defenses! I support this act whole heartedly, and if it is still up after my election, I will not hesitate to try an enact it! Think about that when you go to the election box. think about who will defend our nation before you vote. Thank you."

"We have no need for modern main battle tanks," Dunn said. "The need for those wore out years ago when Sudan or Egypt didn't actually invade us like it was expected they would. It would be too much burden and too costly for what our coffers are right now. We aren't a First World Country like the UK or US. These Charioteers should perform just fine in their intended role. Let's just hope the government doesn't take what makes our military an excellent one and mess it up."

Half-an-hour later
Military Department

"They're doing WHAT?" "Apparently, some ignorant G-Men are deciding to get rid of all our trained men and replace them with 'volunteers' who fight for 'the nation'. It's ridiculous. Who would want to fight for this nation? A bunch of people with pistols or something? I know I'm not going to be a part of this armed force if this bill comes to fruition." Dunn's face became slightly sadder at Austin's suggestion of such an act. "Don't say that, Austin." "I'm sorry sir, but we need something to protest this needless bill?"

(This was months ago. Not in the present day.)

The General was desperate to protect his standing among the troops and thought about what Colonel Austin said, coming up with a contingency plan only if that bill that the government made up passed through. It wasn't intended to be a coup or anything. Just a show of protest.

Jamestown
Radical Left United Front
Nicholas Darkmoon

Nicholas Darkmoon had prepared for this moment. The RLUF had grown in size and members. Now it was time to address the voters. He was called to enter the stage and he did. He began:
"Fellow Columbians, comrades, women and men of all ages.My name is Nicholas Darkmoon. Columbia is a young nation, a nation that can be saved from Western imperialism, capitalism and injustice. A nation which can make a difference as an equal, incorruptible country, where the workers are organized, farmers are respected and the wealthy and powerful do not exist, as everyone is equal. Where the environment is protected, where justice is granted by the State. Where the police are not opposed to the people but respect them as the highest form of authority. This is what Columbia must be, for progress is achievable. That is why I ask you to vote for the Radical Left United Front, a party that respects the people as the highest judges. We will achieve equality and justice, universal free healthcare, greater and all-encompassing welfare, high respect and the completion of the unions' demands. For this is what Columbia needs.
Shouldn't education be free and easily accessible for all? Shouldn't large, multinational companies be highly taxed in order for local businesses to prosper? I think yes. Everyone is ready for change and progress! There mustn't be a political oligarchy where two, almost identical parties compete for their own benefit! There must exist a party which seeks only the betterment of society! Poverty and unemployment will not be tolerated! We will strike down attempts to enforce capitalism and more relaxed laws to the wealthy and powerful! We exist for the poor, the workers, the farmers and the middle class!
I urge you to vote the Radical Left United Front for the whole of society to prosper and for each of you to enjoy true freedom, justice and equality!I am announcing my candidacy as a Senator of Columbia. Because society is for everyone and not for the few, wealthy or powerful enough to buy their way to success.
Columbia is for everyone!"

July 5th, 2016

Isaac stood atop his old Charioteer Tank destroyer, the image of the grapefruit he painted on starting to fade with all the use he had been putting it through recently. He noticed his gun barrel was turning black at the tip from all the carbon. He looked at the rest of his platoon as they got their vehicles online, dirty soldiers began clambering out of the even dirtier tanks. He took a deep breath in and savored the morning desert air. The platoon had just gotten back from yet another live fire exercise, which he knew the men had hated him for, but he noticed they were becoming tighter and tighter as the operations continued, and that is what mattered when they actually got into combat. Once his platoon's tanks were on line with his he ordered the men to rally around his tank. It only took them a few moments to form a loose schoolyard formation around their commander. While he waited for them he produced a Cuban cigar from his trouser pocket, bit off the tip and lit it slowly, letting the cigar fully catch and loose the flavors held in it's leaves. Taking a puff and exhaling a circle he looked down towards his men, "Men, you've done well in the short time that I have known you, the tanks are pretty ate up, as you can see." he said pointing towards the line of now dark brown tanks. "However, I've been running y'all pretty damned hard since I got here, so starting today, every man here has the next four days off. Any admin crap higher pulls on us, I'll take care of it. Now get out of here!" he exclaimed to the group. "Except you corporal, a word please." he said pointing to the next highest ranking soldier before jumping down. "Seen fit to promote you, Staff Sergeant, it wasn't right not having a platoon sergeant around here." explained Isaac while handing him the new rank.

"Yes, Sir. But keep it in mind once we get the money." Dietrich said, still walking with the General. "Sir, I must return to my office, I still have work I need to do and I have a late night ahead of me." He turned and walked towards his office. "God, there are times where I just can't stand to be around him." He thought to himself, but knew that the general was a good man who put the country first. "I wonder if my term is over soon. I will need to check into that." He smiled. "If anything, finishing my term up would get me away from this damned university and back into the regular army, but I'll probably be stuck with another shitty assignment." He walked to his office and worked well into the night before driving to his apartment in Gutenberg Towers. He walked to his bar, poured a heavy glass of Peach Schnapps, and downed it in two gulps. "I wonder what must be going on inside the capital building." he said was he turned on the news. He looked at the screen in disgust, "Lenin, does that fuck really know what's going on?" He stared at the add and decided he needed another drink if hew was even going to stomach the communist bullshit Lenin spouted. "Lets see, a nice Whiskey would do the trick." He said and poured himself a glassful. He then turned to the TV, turned it off and went to bed.

Nicholas Darkmoon

The elections were over and the RLUF had the same votes as the two major parties: Pioneer and Progressive. Nicholas Darkmoon was extremely satisfied with the results as the party's credibility as a major force and not another margin party was established. However, as contacted with the members of RLUF, there needed to be a coalition with another, left-wing party to have more credibility in the Senate. The Progressives, while not sharing identical views, were the former governing party, held needed prestige and had some similar views with RLUF. Nicholas picked up the phone device, dialed the Progressive HQ and waited.

State Road 1, Between Oasis and Jamestown
Senator James Welch sat in his car the sirens from his police escort blaring in front of him. He was glad for the new protection provisions the Interior Department had set up but at times they were annoying and often hindered him. In addition to them he had the extra responsibilities of leading the party while King was in the U.S. for the week. His phone began to ring and it would not have been audible if not for the Bluetooth connectivity to the car. He answered the phone and it was his Senator Kings Secretary, "Senator I have Nicholas Darkmoon on the line." Great what does this radical nut job want, he thought before telling her to send him through. "Senator Darkmoon, this is James Welch Deputy Leader of the Progressive Party. What can I do for you today?"

He had awaited the secretary to send him through and now James Welch was on the other line:
"Mr. Welch, I am glad I have reached you. First of all, I would like to congratulate you on your party's election results. To get to the point, I propose a coalition government between the Progressives and the RLUF. With our combined senate seats, we have in the Senate more votes than the conservatives of the NCF and the Pioneers. While our ideologies remain different, our goals are more or less, close to each other and with each other's assistance, progressive and favorable laws towards the lower and middle classes will be achieved. What do you say?"
