Welcome to Nationstates! Unfortunately, Portal to the Multiverse really isn't the right place for a "Hi, I'm new!" sort of thread, so I'll have to lock this.

Some quick pointers to help you find your way around the madhouse:
-While the site rules essentially boil down to "Don't be a dick," you can find the lengthier explanation of the rules in that link.

-Each section of the forums has a couple of pinned topics that can help provide more in-depth information about what goes on in there. For instance, Portal to the Multiverse here (or "P2TM" for short,) is home to various roleplays that don't have any connection to players' nations. People will set up RPs here for comics, video games, movies, original fantasy/sci-fi/etc worlds, and so on. People more interested in writing stories about their Nationstates nations will find an assortment of things from wars to sports to diplomatic affairs up in the Diplomacy section. Other areas of the forum are dedicated to the game's mechanics, the daily issues your nation gets, as well as the World Assembly (our equivilent to the real world United Nations.)

-When in doubt, spend some time looking around to see what other people are posting. If you're interested in roleplay, both the NS-related and Portal sections have roleplay mentors, who's names are highlighted in a light green color. And most areas have long-time participants who are willing to help point you in the right direction.
