As it stands, the nation has a congress-like system, although that's subject to change under later leadership.

What is the voting system? FPTP? Instant Run-off/Alternative? STV? Party-List? Approval Voting?

Because James Nicholas Andrews based the nation off of an earlier United States, it's FPTP, although like all things, that is subject to change if say, some kind of mad dictator were to take power.

Xavier entered the elections for fun and was elected Vice President, as the year went on he grew more and more interested and started following state and national politics. Xavier was elected Class President his junior and senior years, and went on to get a Bachelors Degree in Business Management with a minor Political Science and an JD and MBA from Princeton. As was expected of him he started working at his mothers company King Enterprises, instead of going into politics like he wanted. After 5 years of working at the company he quit and ran for the City-County Council, which he won making him the youngest person to do so at age 26. Xavier served on the council until his term was up at which point he began working on a Senate Campaign. When he heard of the founding of Bir Tawil he immediately flew there and began a new political career.

Backstory/Biography: Karl Müller… What is there to say about him? Born in Berlin to two loving parents. Parents who financed his legal education, seeing the atrocities that lawlessness could bring. Parents who supported him in every move. Karl Müller really didn’t have a hard childhood, nor was he in trouble during his young adult years. He picked up the legal profession quite well, became a lawyer in Brandenburg after finishing, until finally becoming a judge in that same Brandenburg. He developed a strong sense of right and wrong, and had an interest in the law of treaties, international law and governmental and constitutional law, on the topic of which he wrote many a book. These books were what drew Andrews to him, inviting Müller to form a new state with him in Bir Tawil. Any normal man would have refused, but Müller, having gathered enough money to finance himself royally for the rest of his life, felt something for this experiment. He joined Andrews, had a hand in the constitution, and founded a new legal system out of the blue based on the continental German, French and Dutch legal codes. For himself, he secured the position of High Judge, the prime voice in the judiciary of the country.

Other Information: Müller is a man of principle, but also someone who can value some ends above others. He loves democracy, but there are some things he loves even more. Effective government control, for instance. He is willing to put one ideal over the other if they come into conflict, rather choosing one than letting both slip. He doesn’t always agree with president Andrews, and has many disagreements with him, but he knows his place as head of the judiciary. He has close connections with many politicians, him being the head of the Constitutional Court.

Well, at least in the way it looks. The US constitution is an old document, written in the spirit of the age, and a lot has happened since. Our constitution would look more modern, yet with the same values entrenched. It would depend on what Andrews decided on in the beginning.

Yeah, but I assume we'll write it in the OOC before the RP starts. Without a constitution, you can't have government positions. We don't have one yet, but at the IC start, we should already have a functioning constitution in place.
