RED KEEP, TYLAR ARRYN

Tylar continued to inspect the soldiers and the defenses of the Red Keep as more men were assembled and placed on the wall. Thinking to himself " these are dangerous times." The defense of the Red Keep and the safety of all those inside was his primary concern, a task that he took very serious. More and more members of nobility poured into the Red Keep for the safety that it could provide from the High Septon and his roving bands that seemed to judge everyone as a heathen.

As Tylar prepared the defenses of the Red Keep he noticed the lady Martell making her way towards him with her very revealing dress being seen by the men manning the walls. As she got next to him visibly upset and crying, Tylar took her by the hand made his way into the Red Keep into one of the many halls.

No one was around and it was just the two of them.
" m'lady the times here are dangerous and you should not be wearing such revealing clothes. I do not want any of these fanatics to deem you a heathen."

Taking a breath.

" now who has been taken?"

Princess Nymeria Nymeros-Martell

Nymeria pushed her hand through her long, jet black hair and down her neck, extenuating her pretty, heart shaped, unblemished face. Tylar was a handsome man, with shoulder length golden hair and he looked resplendent in his white scale armour of the kings guard. Nymeria smiled to herself as she saw him struggling not to look at her firm, bronzed midriff which could just be seen through the gap in her cloak and the middle opening in her dress. The two walked in to the Red Keep, when they were alone, Tylar asked her two questions.

Nymeria pulled his hands to her hips and said, her voice choking. "Ser Quentyn Manwoody my lord. He was our man on the Grand Council... he was a dear friend of mine but now they have taken him... he never did anything wrong but suddenly four black cloaks grabbed him dragged him from the Prince's apartments. Can you help him my lord? If you do I, my brother and sister will be very grateful..."

Not sure that'll work on Elepis considering he dislikes (from what I've observed):
A: Nationalism
B: Religion being taken seriously
C: The Irish"

Lord Rhaegar Targaryen
King's Landing
Day 0

Image

"Quentyn Manwoody is currently under arrest and is being kept under guard here in the keep." Rhaegar looks over the rest of the men around him, turning to Mathis. "I asked you to stand with me, not behind me." Rhaegar has a slight smile as he now turns to the Iron Throne, looking up at its majesty. Before answering Robb he starts walking up the stairs to the top of the throne, his boots making a dull thud and echoing in the great hall. As he makes it halfway up he turns, looking down at Robb. "I mean to seize those who have failed this kingdom in the eyes of the Faith, the common people, and myself. One being of your blood has nothing to do with it. Cerion and lord Ryswell are the only two not under arrest. Lord Robb, if Cerion surrenders himself, or you bring him before this council then I shall make sure mercy is brought to him as shall be brought to the rest of the council. As for Lord Ryswell, send a message to the Starks asking for him to surrender himself before this council. If either do not surrender within two days time, I will be forced to hunt them down as traitors to the realm. Everyone, leave."

As all the people in the room exit, only Rhaegar is left alone in the throne room. It was eerily quiet, and the skulls on the walls seemed to stare into his soul. He walks up the final steps, something he had done more than Aegon while he was king. He took a seat on the throne, looking over the room. Many saw the throne as ugly, uncomfortable-- but that was the point. It was created the way it was for the single purpose, a lesson to all kings. To never sit back and get comfortable. The throne was power, but Rhaegar did not have it yet.

Robb Lannister
The Red Keep, King's Landing
Zero-Days-After-the-Decree

Robb bared his teeth at the Targaryen as he climbed the throne. "The Faith? The Faith? The Faith is only the serving the agenda that your family member, whom holds position on the Most Devout, has sought to perpetuate, even against my House which has to such extents sponsored them in the West!"

Robb hissed a step forward. "And the common people? Do you know who is holding the smallfolk in check, Lord Rhaegar? Cerion Lannister, you fool, in the name of the Council and with the gold I gave him, and with Lord Stark's men at his side at that. Where was Targaryen wealth when the poor threatened to riot on the beckoning of the Faith you claim as an authority!"

Then Robb laughed as he heard Rhaegar's third portion. "And your eyes? You must surely jest, my lord. Surely! For no one gives less of a shit about anything, and I mean anything, than what you think--that is, in half of this realm. I came to reason, Lord Targaryen. But I see you want justice in a time when wisdom would serve. Best of look finding a new Master of Coin."

Robb rounded on his heel and stormed from the room.

Lord Rhaegar Targaryen
King's Landing
Day 0

Image

Rhaegar holds up his hand, and spears block Robbs exit. As he turns to say something smart or whitty Rhaegar's voice roars in the room.

"You are the Master of Coin, a position only granted to you because I vacated it to become the Hand of the King for King Aegon, may he rest in peace. I sat upon the Iron Throne more than he did as Hand! During that time I did not care what anyone thought of me, and I do not now. Do you know why I am "arresting" these men? So they aren't butchered in the streets by a faith reamred by YOUR family! To end something that could turn into all out war!" He reaches the bottom of the throne, walking towards the imp. "Perhaps you have heard the rumors-- if you haven't then you are a horrible member of the court. You know damn well who I am arresting. What I am sacrificing, so do not trying and pretend like I am doing this purely for power. And control the people? The only people Cerion controls is the whore sitting on his cock. Now, bring him before this council, or I will send men to find him." Rhaegar returns to the throne's steps, talking with his back to Robb. "Stay on this council and work with me, or leave the city. I hope that you stay."

Aemon Targaryen
Dragonstone
Day 1

Image

Aemon sits in the study for the Lord of Dragonstone, he taking the position with his father and older brother away from the castle. Below him he can hear his squire in the yard working away at the dummy with the other squires, and the Maester enters the room with a letter from a Raven. The Velaryon's would soon be coming to dragonstone, and Aemon orders the fastest ship to set sail with a message for the lord of Driftmark that he was welcome within the halls of Rhaegar.

Robb Lannister
The Red Keep, King's Landing
Zero-Days-After-the-Decree

"I cannot contend that they would not have been butchered in the streets," Robb shouted back, "but I am certain that there were easier ways to deal with the Faith than to have those that the Faith so aspired to capture than to capture them for the Faith itself! You seem to lose your wisdom, Lord Rhaegar--recall how the Faith is more than ready to call upon you and demand the prisoners you have taken, and now you have delivered them in a neat little basket! Indeed, my aunt in her infinite stupidity managed to rearm the Faith--yet no king after Tommen ever took their swords away, and I would recall what group Mad Aerys was foolish enough to arm. But I am not half the idiot it would take to hold you accountable for that folly, my lord. And we shall see how many people Cerion controls, Lord Rhaegar. We shall see indeed. You have given him two days to present himself before your authority; would you already break the first declaration you have issued? Let us see what two days bring. And gods help you Rhaegar Targaryen, for a Hand you may be but a frugal cunt I am. Let us see how you fair with the coffers when this golden lion has departed."

Robb turned back to the men retaining him. "Now let me pass, so help you, or all the might of Casterly Rock will fall upon you."

Lord Mace Tyrell
Old Town
Day 4

Lord Mace had arrived at Old Town following a hard ride to the city. Ser Beryl had ridden ahead of the group and had secured a fast route to the Hightower. As they entered, they were not greeted by cheering crowds or such, but rather the streets were empty and quiet... It was very early in the morning...

The party made it's way to the Hightower, an awesome sight for most of the Knights. As they made their way, the city was just beginning to awaken. The people began leaving their homes to begin their work, but all we're surprised to see Rose Knights moving through the town.

The Knights of Highgarden did not have special capes like the "Gold Cloaks" or "Blue Cloaks", but rather wore general armor with the standard rose sigil. However, the Lord Paramount's Guard did dawn the finery of House Tyrell... The ten guards wore thick steel plate with golden capes and gold plated rose designs etched into the armor. A symbol of the Tyrell's wealth...

Mace walked through the streets behind his party, accompanied by Ser Beryl, who had rejoined the party. As they made their way to the tower, Mace seemed to be distracted by a figure who seemed to be following them. While he was accustomed to "fans" or beggars following them, this was no ordinary beggar. The man was somehow slowly getting closer to the Mace and Ser Beryl... Suddenly, he was gone...

As Mace turned the corner, only a hundred meters from the gates of the Hightower, he felt like something was wrong, very wrong... Suddenly that "beggar" leaped from within the crowd and stabbed Lord Mace Tyrell in the side and the abdomin. Lord Mace fell from his horse onto the ground,.while his horse reared back letting out a horrendous neigh. The street soon erupted into chaos. The Highgarden Knights followed a massive circle around their injured Lord while Ser Beryl grabbed the assassin and threw him to the ground, knocking him out. The Lords Guard picked up their Lord and the would be assassin, and carried them to the Hightower Castle.

Inside the Hightower castle, all Seven Hells had broken lose. Lord Oderis Tyrell was barking orders to the Maesters and Ser Beryl was commanding the Guard to secure the castle. Soon, there were ten or fifteen Maesters surrounding the Lord, almost all with a different way of treating him..

Ser Beryl soon made his way to Lord Jacaerys Blackfyre, "Lord Blackfyre, I will be frank with you", he said in his deep voice, "Mace is gravely wounded. The maesters are attempting to heal him, but I fear It is too late. I must get a raven to Highgarden and inform Oberyn of this. *he paused* We also captured his attacker, I wish to personally lead his interrogation, if that is possible."

Ser Beryl looked over towards the once bold assassin, who was now almost cowering in a corner with five blades pointed towards him... "We also recovered his dagger... Engraved in the hilt is the Stag of House Baratheon... While this dagger could be the Baratheon's, I fear the financiers of this assassination attempt might be much more important. That man,*he points towards the assassin* he is of the Crownlands. You can't tell by his clothing or his accent, but his manurisms give it away. I will find out more when I interrogate him..."

Oderis was by his half-brother's side as Mace began to speak, "Brother, you have been great friend and warrior. I am proud to have you as my brother. I fear I may be dying, inform Oberyn that he will be Lord Paramount of the Reach until my son is of age... However, if I am to survive, he is still Regent until my recovery... Tell Cassana that I have failed in protecting myself, and that she is the love of my life. Ensure Loras is well..." Mace slowly drifted into a deep sleep and he entered into a coma...

Oderis checked to ensure his brother still had a beating heart before arising from his seat. Mace was alive...

Oderis composed himself before speaking, "Reachmen, your Lord is gravely injured. I fear he has entered a sleep which he will never awaken from. But listen! Someone, someone, who thinks they can defeat the Reach by just killing our Lord, just struck at our very core. Mace was and is a good man! He just had his first child a mere five months past! But now our Lord lays dying on this table, far from his family... But he is not far from his HOME! The Reach was his home, and the Reach is what has been gravely injured this day. I make it a promise, that the perpetrators of this act are brought to justice!"

Ser Beryl, still standing next to Lord Blackfyre, spoke to the Lord, "The Tyrells will stop at nothing to avenge this... Today is a dark day, and I fear it will only get darker..."

Within two hours...
A solitary raven had been sent out of the Hightower to Highgarden. The message attached was long and grave. It explained what had happened and how Mace was in a deep sleep...

Lord Oberyn Tyrell
Highgarden
Day 5

Oberyn was in his study when the Raven arrived. The Guard at the Ravenry had opened the message and read it to determine it's importanc, but within the first two lines he knew...

The steel clashing against the stone floors created such a racket that Oberyn had turned his head towards the door as the guard burst in.

"Pardon my Lord, your brother... There has been a assassination attempt."

The blood drained from Oberyn's face as the guard uttered the words... The guard rushed up to the Lord before handing him the message. Oberyn motioned for him to leave before he began reading... The message was obviously written by Oderis, as it contained an almost religious fanaticy about it.

The assassin has been captured? No doubt the interrogation has begun... And a Stag Blade? Davos would never be so bold. Oberyn thought as he continued to read...

Cassana suddenly burst into the study, eyes swelling with tears as she screamed, "It's not true! Tell me it isn't true!! He isn't dead! TELL ME!!"

Oberyn responded, "He is not dead. He seems to have entered a deep sleep and cannot be woken at the moment."

Cassana slumped down onto the floor sobbing. She cried for several minutes while Oberyn tried to care for her. However, her sadness soon turned to anger...

"Lord Davos will hear of this! The perpetrators will know the horns of the Stag! I will hunt them down to the last man!" She yelled as she devolved back to crying and sobbing.

Oberyn had soon called for the handmaidens to take Cassana, when he began to pen letters... To House Tarly of Horn Hill, to House Blackfyre of Old Town, to House Redwyne of The Arbor, to House Ashford of Ashford, to House Florent of Brightwater Keep, to House Oakheart of Old Oak, and every other house sworn to House Tyrell...

Each letter was personallized to the House it was sent to, and Lord Oberyn to time to ensure the messages we're relatively the same...

To Lord or Lady,
It is with great sadness that I am writing. Our Lord, Mace Tyrell II, has been gravely injured by an assassin while visiting Old Town. He has appointed me as Lord Paramount in his stead. While the investigation into this attack is ongoing, we have strong evidence that points to a Paramount House having ordered this attack. Your House, as vassals of Mace Tyrell and House Tyrell, is hereby commanded to raise your banners in Mace's name. I expect a speedy reply to this message and a faster call to arms.

Lord Oberyn Tyrell

Ravens soon carried this message across the Reach, and it would be no time at all before the war drums began beating... The Reach was not arousing to support a King, but rather to avenge its Lord...
