"Gareth, please. I was a police officer. Tactical medic for our special response unit, SDU. Later on, I did some witness protection for a while. And you?"
The hour was getting late and Gareth supposed they'd have a better chance of finding one of the officers tomorrow. Suggesting it to Patrick, he added, "We can find you a place in the barracks first, if you like. It's not far from here. You don't seem to have a lot of gear, unless you've already dropped it off?"
He smiled, "Police work huh, honest work. I was or still am a member of the militia back in my home town, joined up at 16. Was already in college by then too. At 17 I l graduated with a business degree and three years ROTC. Then I joined up with the Marines for a few years. I got bored so I tried out for and bacame a navy SEAL. I did that for a while before it got awkward one day when my CO came onto me and I left cause I gave him a broken nose as my response. I joined up with Delta Team for a short year before the Colonel and I where requested by and transfered to a classified team by Intelligence. Four years later, I retired from working for my country joined up as a PMC for FULCRUM, then I got tired of that and decided that I would mobe to Belgium with my.... *Cough* where I joined up with the SWAT team in Brussels shortly until they gave me my citizenship papers until I finally settled down as the Chief of Security and expert/arms testing and development consultant for a little local company known as FN Herstal, my current employer other than Athena. Lucky me, that job can be done remotely and they need not see my face."
His face dropped and his brow furrowed. "I am afraid I must decline, you see half of this paperwork is to move my kids to a nearby secure safe site. I would worry too much if I knew that they weren't in the safest place possible. You would understand if you were a father. After all, I fight for them. So what I am going to do is buy the closest building to this site, call security at home and tell them to bring them over, call a furnisher in Amsterdam to get something thrown together in that time. I'll be back at 0600. I'll pick up the gear as for the rest of my paperwork is my enlistment papers and request forms to use my own gun. What do you think Gareth?"

Lieutenant Addilek Surayud
Addilek took in a deep breath of the clean, dry, sterile air of the gym, letting the scrubbed oxygen flow into his lungs as he continued jogging along on the treadmill. Jogging wasn't really the right word for it- most people didn't jog at such a rapid clip- but nonetheless, he continued, idly watching a movie on the little screen in front of him with his earbuds in. It was in English, meaning he couldn't understand some of what they were saying- so far he gathered it was about a stockbroker who had been for unclear reasons arrested, as well as a homeless black man who was somehow connected to the stockbroker and the two old men he'd seen earlier. Fortunately for Addilek, he'd been told by the program's admissions people that his English was probably good enough, when coupled with his excellent French.
The Thai lieutenant sighed, finally giving in and turning on Thai subtitles so he could follow along. Oh, his name is Winthorpe. That makes more sense now.
About thirty minutes later, he switched the treadmill off, hopping down and wiping his face with the small towel he'd put on the machine's handrail. He headed to the changing room and took a fast shower, putting on the standard uniform they'd issued him, and headed towards the cafeteria, ordering himself some food and taking his time while he ate.
Once I'm done here, I should probably go check in with Commander Pier and see if there's anything he really needs me doing.
...
Damn, this food is pretty fucking good.

Addilek checked his guide, mapping out the different routes on the unfamiliar streets in his head as he went.
"Right. So we head down on Knightsbridge, cut through Green Park, head up The Mall past Charing Cross and then turn, khap?"*
The 2,100-odd feet to Hyde Park Corner passed fairly quickly, and soon they were entering the Wellington Arch.
OOC: *I'm typing what Addilek is trying to say. Use this link to get a better idea of how he's pronouncing the English words. Later, I may have him break into French, in which case I'll highlight the text blue.

Lei had barely known the officer, and as far as he knows, he's a Thai and he's not really fluent in English (not that he fluent with it, either). Given the position in that there are two routes possible to attack and to defend, he though of the otherwise
"Surely no one is in the Embankment, I'll head there and establishing some sort of defense point, kay?"

The three others with Addilek and Lei stood around and waited for clearer orders. They understood the place names Addilek had mentioned, and even if they didn't, physically following him would be easy enough.
Up ahead, the sections of Green Park visible to their team were covered in dried, fallen leaves. Apparently the staff had decided to give them London in autumn; and the trees were half bare. The lightpost-lined paths curved away out of sight, splitting the lawns into sections. Metropolitan Police officers could be seen clearing out straggling civilians; they seemed too busy to bother with five men carrying automatic weapons at the moment. The crowds were being moved toward the hotels on the team's left; probably they'd be given shelter there? It would be the smart play for the locals.
One of the other three, who happened to be British himself, spoke up. "Sirs, I suggest we get a move on before the blue berets come out and we have ourselves a rough and tumble with London's finest instead of terrorists. Matter of fact, police might be around that wine bar already and we might have to sneak in."

Vince had awoken at around 6 AM to do his daily morning ritual. He picked up his loaded rifle and went for a run, did push ups, sit ups, obstacle courses, the works. He came back at around 8, returning to shower and change his clothes. When he got back, several others had already awoken, groggily going about their morning. Vince took a quick shower and toweled off, putting on a fresh ATHENA uniform. His rifle was already cleaned from the work out and deposited into his locker with the rest of his gear, so he walked to the mess hall/lounge/bar thing that the higher ups had set up for them. He hoped that no one would be having booze for breakfast again. He grabbed himself a nice helping of toast, scrambled eggs, taters, sausage, bacon, and black coffee. Sitting down at the many free tables, which was odd to him, he ate his meal silently. Enjoying the taste of real fresh hot food in the morning. His stomach was making a storm of noise for food earlier. He wasn't sure if we was an early riser or if everyone else just slept in, which was odd since most of the other operators were special ops, or had some major military training drilled into them.

Wolfram had wrapped up target practice, when his stomach decided to make it's presence known, he walked into the mess hall to find it nigh empty save for a Slavic looking man with a breakfast of champions laid out before him, helping himself to a Bacon & Egg sandwich and a beer he found an empty table to sit at, he took a few bites of his sandwich and looked over to the slavic looking man about 20 feet away, 'might as well get to know some people' he thought to himself, he called out to the man "so, how do you think this is gonna turn out?"

Funny enough, Vince was thinking to himself the same thing already. He looked up at the man across from him. He shrugged "Either we get recognized as a species by what ever galactic community exists out there and kick ET off of Earth, or ET completes it's mission, what ever it is, and something bad happens to Earth, and inadvertently us." replied Vince with a half yell half really loud indoor voice.

"with humanities track record I'm willing to bet ET is just running from something worse." Wolfram chuckled to himself "*sigh* God we're so fucked." he then returned to eating waiting for the mans possible response.

"I guess we won't know until this is over." replied Vince, he finished his coffee, and picked up his tray, getting up from his spot, he walked to the dish bin and deposited his now empty platter. "So, what's your name and where are you from? Private First Class Vince Farkas, Hungarian Military." He leaned on the wall beside the waste bin, he'd already finished his morning workout, and he didn't have much to do. Well except maybe brush up on his wood work.

The Hungarians grip was firm, if there was anything Wolfram hated the most in this world, it was giving handshakes to wet noodles, "Me, I enjoy reading, cooking decent meals, and writing poetry that would make my english teacher roll in her grave, occasionally I shoot terrorists in the face too, but that's less a hobby and more a chore. Vince nodded thoughtfully. "They appear to be quite strong, one of the men in the medical bay had extensive injuries to his torso from when one of those blue things hit him. They look like they fire some kind of incendiary weapon, I saw a few burn wounds in there while I was there. As for how hard they are to kill, well, two things. One, seeing as our guys are still alive, that means our guns killed those things, and two, if it isn't dead in 20 shots, we probably shouldn't be shooting at it." shared Vince. "I'm going to head to the workshop, build a chair or something. You're free to join me at the workshop, it features a wide variety of things to do."

"sorry, haven't done any PT yet, so i'm probably gonna head to the gym, see you around though." and with that wolfram departed from the mess hall, towards the barracks, upon reaching the barracks, it's familiar pungent smell blasted his nostrils again, and he had to fight to keep his breakfast down, a few more people were up now, checking his watch, Wolfram was caught off guard '7:56?
if things go on like this, we aren't gonna win the war.' wolfram walked over to his bunk undressed from his BDU, and dressed in his workout clothes, 'now to find the gym.' deciding to follow anyone who was wearing similar attire hoping they were going to the same area.

the V44 landing intruding her sleep and withering effects from her insomnia medication,
Her time of playing sleeping beauty is no more. Rising from her induced dormancy, Sienna woke to the greeting of a confined space of one of the V44's storage cells. Being in a sedative trance in a dark space roughly the size of a sedan's trunk while sore with cold saliva plastered on her left cheek did not concern her as much as it should. As her first course of action, she pulled her trusty E-cigarette from her belt's molle webbing and slipped it in her mouth, jittering from the cold. She slowly exhaled out of the device as it emitted a faint blue light that danced within her cell. 'So im not buried alive with Ryan Reynolds' , she disappointingly thought, somewhat tainting the great taste of vapor cherry-vanilla swirl she had lingering in her mouth.
Sienna slowly peeked outside the compartment to find herself in a very cold, unfamiliar place with a team she wasn't part of, not to far outside from the V44's.Disregarding her unfavorable decision, she chose to announce herself to the Lt.McLarson and her squad
"Spc.Sienna Cooper reporting for duty, ma'm",

Surprised, Angered and Annoyed. Those were the three emotions going through Lt. Rose's head right now. What the hell. No, why the hell was there a girl in one of the cells aboard. Hell, since when did we have cells on board in the first place? She looked straight at the girl and just stayed still with her jaw dropped.
''What the hell are you doing here? This is a covert m---. Hold on, how the hell did you get on board? Why are you in a cell? How did we not notice you?'' she said. Looking up she sighed, and put a hand on her face. Pulling her face down, she took of her hand.
