That night, Sarah slept like a rock. Her day had been full of action after all, and after spending so much energy, first on the bank robbery and then on the battle against the wizard, she had been left exhausted. The prize that they had been able to seize after all their effort was of course more than worth it, and the feast they had made for themselves at the small roadside restaurant was but a taste, pardon the pun, of the things that were to come now that they were swimming in the money they had stolen from the First Bank of Starling City, but even then, the pale girl was exhausted, and so, after Samantha had driven them to a hotel on the outskirts of Gotham City, Sarah Grimm walked to her room and was soundly asleep before her head hit the pillow.
She awoke early the next morning, some time before her sisters. Her deep scarlet eyes fluttered open as her consciousness returned from the land of dreams, and she let out a huge yawn as she sat up, giggling to herself in her room as she realized her first thoughts were of how she preferred to wake up in the arms of someone else, though of course, she would never do something that would disturb her sisters, and they were sleeping in the same suite.
Standing up, the blood charmer walked straight to the shower to start her day, spending inside far longer than what was actually necessary to rid herself of any uncleanliness, simply enjoying the sensation of the warm water streaming down and running through her soft skin. She was wasting water most assuredly, but who was going to complain about it? Certainly not the hotel that had been paid a hefty sum by the sisters for the use of the suite.
However, she knew very well that she couldn't just stay in the shower forever, nor did she have any desire to do so. Turning off the shower and stepping out of the restroom, the pale woman dressed herself in fairly simple clothes: a pair of black shorts and a white sweater with a hoodie. As always, she had no intention of donning provocative clothing to make herself more noticeable or alluring; she had neither the necessity nor the desire to do so, her natural, or should we say, supernatural beauty itself making her stand out in the crowd far more than any dress or accessory could.
Walking into the living room, Sarah plopped down on a sofa and turned on the suite's television, which was currently set to the news channel. In there, she could see the chaos that Gotham was going through at the moment, with the Batman missing from the city and the gangs running amok through the streets. At the sight of such a bleak situation, Sarah could only shake her head repeatedly and chuckle softly, remembering the words her younger sister had used the previos day. "What was it she said?" The eldest Grimm asked herself out loud as she continued to watch the news. "'The sooner we get to Gotham the better off we'll be' or something like that? Right." She shook her head some more, before switching to cartoons.

Hadrimmelis would have shaken her head, were she still in human form. As it was, the black and crimson dragon merely pulled herself to her feet telekinetically, not relying on her sister's claw for support. The gesture was perfectly fine for humans, but it was probably not so anatomically convenient for dragons, anyway. After getting back on her wings, Hadrimmelis looked at the Time Demon, and then back at Yamirakkelis.
"I had assumed that he would be weak enough for us to take him on. I did not expect him to retain so much of his power. This will be a very difficult battle." She said before flying high and sending forth a rain of thunder and fire and light from her breath, headed straight towards Ku.
"DRAGON, THE ARMIES OF YOUR UNIVERSE COULD NOT TOUCH ME, YOUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS COULD NOT KILL ME, YOUR CHAINS AND PRISONS COULD NOT HOLD ME. WHY, THEN, DID YOU BELIEVE FOR ONE MOMENT THAT YOU COULD POSSIBLY WIN THIS BATTLE?" The Time Demon asked mockingly even has his body was obliterated time and time again by the starslaying attacks from the Rantu and the divine rays from the Returned Vokornian, simply rewinding all the damage that was caused without seeming to lose any energy from doing so. In fact, he seemed to regenerate even faster than the others could cause it damage, simply returning to his previous untouched state after the damage was caused, not wasting a single instant on such a process. He did not laugh, but it was clear that he would do so if he was capable of it. For now, he merely stood still, soaking up the damage they caused, as if to mock them.
"YOUR STRUGGLES ARE FUTILE, DRAGONS, HUNTER, SORCERESS. MY POWER MAY NOT BE AT ITS HEIGHT, BUT I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED HERE. THIS IS THE CLOSEST POINT TO MY DOMAIN. HERE, YOUR RULES DO NOT APPLY. NOW WITNESS THE POWER OF WHAT YOU HAVE CALLED THE TIME DEMON." Ku spoke, extending his arms to the sides in a gesture of dominance. Suddenly, any attacks that were headed towards him were dramatically slowed halfway through, disappearing before they touched him, fading into an ethereal mist that floated back towards him. Hadrimmelis' stream of fire and thunder and light was picked apart, as were Aru'va's constant hails of destruction and Ashyandra's rays of dusk and of divinity. Then, with a wave of the Time Demon's hand, the mist seemed to reform in different places, and with different orientations, in essence sending the attacks back to their senders, keeping them busy.
At that moment, the Time Demon took a step forward and suddenly, he was in front of Hadrimmelis once again. The World-Dragon knew enough about the workings of this place by now to know to expect something like that, and so, instead of allowing herself to be struck once again, she used her psionic powers to fire what was the telekinetic equivalent of a railgun round into Ku's body, distracting him from what he had planned to do, if only for a moment. She then opened her massive, gaping jaws, the fire and light of genesis and the beating heart of creation perceivable within. This was so for only a moment, however, as the very next instant, her jaws snapped shut with such force that it would undoubtedly crush all but the strongest of metals, the teeth of a creature so durable it could resist star busting forces tearing through the... was it even flesh? of the Time Demon with ease.
However, by the time she looked again, the Time Demon had already reformed. Angry, Hadrimmelis swiped at Ku with her claws, rending once again Ku's form, but this time, the demon remained undeterred, slamming his fist into the World-Dragon's head despite at times appearing to be so much smaller, sending her flying back with such a simple attack, though it caused no noticeable damage to the scales covering her. Yet, the Time Demon did not let up, and leapt after her, latching onto the scarlet dragon's back, one hand pounding at it to keep her on the ground while the other was kept on her scales, as if he were trying to drain her, to sap her strength.

Idly taking off the stern, demonic-looking cursed mask now that she believed the danger had passed, Garnet looked towards Akari in surprise, her eyes growing wide as she heard the Nekomata introduce herself. The same last name? That could only mean one thing. The blonde woman scratched her head. Was everyone related there or something? She'd thought that was Iceland, not Japan. Though it probably had something to do with them being Youkai.
"Kazumo? Then you must be Masami's sister." The sole human in the field reasoned. They looked about the same age after all, though then again, she figured that she didn't really have much of an idea of how Youkai aged. They both could be far older than her for all she knew, though of course, she hadn't bothered to ask Masami about her age. She knew better than that. It would be rude, to say the least, and she wasn't sure she cared enough anyway.
Afterwards, hearing Azami speak about the deal, Garnet listened quietly. Noticing Masami looking at her, however, she sighed.
"What the hell are you looking at, fox lady?" The blonde woman said somewhat aggressively, frowning. "I have no reason to bother weighing in on this. You're the one who would be interested in the deal, not me. I have my own goals and they have nothing to do with Japan, or Youkai, or your family." She stated bluntly.
"I will follow you because I owe you, not because I care about any of these things. So choose already."

Etla put some resistance as Ihra tried to pull away from her, not wanting to break up the hug and quite frankly caring little about the other girl's preferences. Her elder sister had always been uneasy with physical contact, even among other Rainborn, but Etla didn't really pay that fact much attention, she would hug her as much as she damn pleased. But then, it was true that she hadn't seen her sister in a long time, so she figured that letting her go early just this once wouldn't hurt anyone, so, a bit reluctantly, she released her sister from the hug and backed off a bit, listening to her.
However, listening to Ihra speak all terrified, Etla couldn't help it and started giggling at the redhead's words. Judging from the description, she had seen a car and come across some thugs. All those things that were so mundane in this world had confused her to no end at first, too, but whereas Ihra had reacted with terror, she had been fascinated. They were mostly harmless things, anyway! Normal humans were no match to a Rainborn even without a powerful Core available, so Ihra really didn't have any reason to be afraid, but Etla supposed that her reaction wasn't all that strange considering her personality. Either way, she found the tale, as well as the way in which it was told, very humorous, and took a moment to calm down before replying.
"Oh, Ihra, I can understand the rest, more or less, but I don't see why you'd be scared to see me sparring with someone. It's no different from all the times that we..." She spoke, but as she trailed off, her smile died down, and she paused for a moment. "...All the times that we sparred in the Skyworld."
Craig's arrival served to cheer her up a bit, though. "Craig's very smart and he's shown me a lot of things." She said with a happy grin on her face.
