New Neros wrote:The Mad King looked around his own technology room, one of many more around the complex, but this particular one more like a workshop than anything. However, his eyes trailed over the Spartan woman. Seeing her in this sort of light was rather...strange though. Something was tugging at Mad Max's physical and mental well-being, something primal and instinctive as well. He looked down. almost ashamed of himself - he was attracted to Corinna. Something about her admiration and appreciation of his inventions and devices, his nation, and even himself. He was conflicted, though, as this feeling was much the same he had for Valerie. However, he brushed them aside completely, and piped up as Corrina spoke to him.
"Ah, yes." He said, "Right around the corner." He said, gesturing for Corinna to follow as he left the room. True to his word, Mad Max rounded a corner and walked directly to a door - it sliding out of the way as he approached in a glorious fashion. Within the door was yet another series of doors, but these seemed more intricate and filled with technological buttons, lights, and such. The entire room was just those two doors, and he turned back to Corinna. "My Meditation Chamber. In here, I can simulate the effects of days passing by in mere minutes, even seconds if needed, as well increase and decrease gravity. It contains stores of my own energy reserves as well, meaning I can visualize past opponents and even conjure ones up for physical exercise."
Maxwell moved over the wall and placed his hand on it firmly, a control screen flipping around as he did so. "Three days, correct? We can be provided with all we need, or absolutely nothing should we choose." He further declared, pressing some more buttons briefly. "There we go. All set up and ready." He approached the twin doors and they too slid open, a bright white light and some fog emerging from within. "After you, my teacher."
I paced around the room as I finally entered the area in which we would be training. The large and rather clear room was empty of decorations or distractions. I gave a slight smirk as I took in the sight. Finally arming myself with a spear and shield in hand. I have never actually trained anyone in the ways of Spartan combat. As they say, there is a first for everything. As I prepared my weapons, I turned to him, wanting to give a final warning before we started. "This training will not be soft or kind, such is not the way of a Spartan. Injury is not a possibility, but a certainty." I stated as a matter of fact. "Spartan training was not known to be kind, and a focus on the regimen was to ignore pain." I continued to explain as I moved on to the topic. "Regardless, the fighting style of the traditional Spartan soldier, may be obsolete today, but it has its uses. I doubt you will be carrying a shield and spear into battle, and so you will instead be learning principles of Spartan fighting, rather than a strict teaching of Spartan Styles. Even my own combat style is altered heavily combing my abilities granted by the God's along with fighting techniques. Your's will be much the same. To focus you raw talents and teach you a fighting style that is raw power and brutal technique personified." I then raised my spear in his direction. "Well, then, arm yourself if you are prepared, King." I ordered, anxious to begin the first lesson.
But, I had caught a familiar glint in his eye, one that over the time I had become far too familiar with. The type of look in which one soul connects with another, and most would call such a look one of affection. But I know such a thing cannot exist between us, in fact, this is part of my curse in being immortal. Love, cannot exist for one such as I. Doomed as I am to see my friends, allies and lovers wither and waste away. "I do trust you know that it is best if we keep this, professional, as they say. I dont need to remind one such as you of the fool's quest of falling for one doomed to eternity." I then gave a sarcastic smile and shifted my hips ever slightly, in a unusually feminine body movement for myself. "Of course, eternity may may be very long if you are unable to provide a purpose worthy of a warrior as old as I." I giggled. But when the moment for a laugh passed, I returned to my stance.
"So, let us begin." I announced, as I immediately lounged forward and into the attack, thrusting the spear at what would seem like an effort to mortally wound my opponent.
I grinned sharply. "It is settled then, a PLAN! EXPLOSIONS! SCREAMS! CHAOS! LAUGHS!" I then rolled my head back as I howled with laughter as I gripped the cane in my hands. Then turned sharply to Queen. "Well, let us not delay, excitement awaits!" I tempted as I dashed off into the distance. Leaving the carnival behind, I could not help but notice how people began to actively avoid me on the sidewalks. I made a couple fake outs at a few people, where they would jump back on reflex and I would respond with wild laughter. "Every time I tell ya." I was making my way, with queen behind me rather oddly through the city, no real sense of direction, as I took odd turns which seemed to be random. But I knew exactly where we were going.
I passed by a few of the homeless of Gotham in a alley way huddled around a fire trying to stay warm at night. Taking a peek over in their direction I quipped off to Queen. "Do you see what I mean? The people of this city go along with their comfortable lives as if all is well. But the Bat does little to help these problems. All of this, everything that they believe their rules uphold, their precious laws..." I then placed my face in my hands. "Its all a monstrous gag, a demented joke. These people see through the illusion, but why are they not laughing? This city's people would not know a good joke if it bit them in the funny bone." I claimed. As I continued on down the path. Until passing a establishment in which caught my eye.
An animal shelter. The place was closed but, that has not stopped me recently. "Lets take a look at what is in here." I mentioned, as I smashed a window before allowing myself in. My steps sounded quite loud in the rather quiet building, but things soon livened up as the screeching and barking of various animals sounded, warning any security guard unlucky enough to be working this shift to my presence. But, as my eyes centered on one cage, I payed no mind to any of it.
"Oh Oh Oh, I have to have him!" I piped up as I skipped over to the cage, with a very depressed monkey inside. While every other animal barked away, the monkey remained rather silent, that is until I opened his cage, and he jumped at me, or I thought he did. Instead he targeted a security guard behind me with whom he assaulted mercilessly. I turned to look at the monkey with glee. But before the beast could harm the man fatally I moved over to him and shoved him in a large cage, in which he seemed to believe I had saved him.
But, the truth soon dawned on him as he heard the snarls of the lions behind him and the clank of me locking the cage. I then turned and shot a wink at Queen while the screams of the man being ripped apart by captured zoo animals behind me painted a great musical score. The now freed monkey rapidly climbing upon my shoulder as I showed him off.
"So, Queen, what do you say? Can I keep em?" I asked with a spark in my eye.
New York, I had not been here in a long time. It actually reminds me of Metropolis somewhat. In fact, I am surprised to be here at all. I walked the streets by myself, but I was not alone in the city. Michael and Melody were here as well, as I could not leave them alone in my home and I still need to speak to both of them. Walking down the sidewalk, I heard sounds of fighting in the distance. Having just left the twins at a tour guide before dismissing myself, I began to dash down the street as I moved myself closer to the sounds of the struggle. Embracing my Morphing Stone, my armor encased me as I flew off into the air, easily tracking down the source of the battle, seeing a group of three, two woman and a man take on a demon. Hovering nearby, I shot off two energy blasts at the demon or alien, whatever it was. Enough to make my presence known, but I withheld on actually saying anything for now. Needing to wrap this up so I can get back to the twins.
