Doom is best villain for that very reason. Unlike others, with the possible exception of Magneto when he gets serious, Doom gets results.

Doom and Magneto have crossed paths numerous of times, and fought at times, each time Doom wins. Magneto is scared of Doom.

In all honesty, Doom should have made some impact in the IJ storyline. I was going to with Ray-El because his power was magic-based, and Daud goes to the most powerful magician he knows that isn't Dr. Strange...VON DOOM! It's at that introduction we see that Doom doesn't care about us, but will teach the boy for plot. But then it got canned.

In what we've seen on screen (IC) in Infinite Justice, Daniel doesn't actually do a lot of prep time. He just wings it. Prime example being the Ultron/Doomsday Arc, which Daniel could have prepped for while everyone was getting stomped, but instead came up with portals. Portals.

If anything, Daud had excellent prep against any past opponent.
