Occupation: Privateer
Allegiance: Netherlands
Number of ships owned: 1
Flagship: Brig "Valkyrie" with 8 cannons on either side
Crew / Fleet Size: 1 ship crewed by 60 crew members
Notable crew members:Julia's first mate and most trusted companion. A skilled fighter, he commands the starboard broadside.'The quartermaster of the ship, he is skilled with numbers though is not a great fighter. He would be found hiding beg=hind the crates during battle usuallyA skilled wind magic user, he has adept knowledge at sailing and wind magic but not much else. He would lose in many fights but he is almost unbeatable in ship maneuvering during a battle.
Magical abilities (Y/N): N/A
Non-magical abilities: Julia is a crack shot with a gun, average in swordplay and sailing but her true skills lie in her silver tongue which can many to her side.
Weaknesses: Julia has a kind heart and one almost unable not to give mercy. It makes her vulnerable in many ways
Brief biography of character: Julia was born to a baptist merchant family on the dutch island of Aruba in the year 1694. She was the oldest of the three daughters as her parents had no sons and was set to inherit the merchant business of her father when he passed. She grew up learning the tricks of the merchant trade and her natural silver tongue helped her in this. She seemed to know just what to say or do to persuade a client into a deal. She learned how to handle a musket and sword on hunting trips to the interior of the island for animal skins with her father. By the age of 14, Julia was a very capable merchant that would be ready to take on the business of her father in his opinion.
At the age of 18, tragedy struck though when her father's ship was assaulted by a pirate ship with Julia on board. The Pirates captured her, some of the crew, and the cargo of the ship before they let the merchant ship go. Julia was trapped on that ship for 3 months before her silver tongue came to great use. With promise of gold and fine goods, she was able to convince a number of the pirate crew and the former merchant crew to mutiny against the captain. The mutiny was a success and the captain and his loyal crew either dead or left to rot in the Brig of the ship.
She then returned with the ship to Aruba where her family was overjoyed to see her safe and returned to them but Julia had discovered the excitement of the pirate's life. She left the means of controlling the business once her father died to her younger sister who sadly had to take control a year later when their father died. Julia was able to use her silver tongue to convince many of the former crew into joining her as a captain of the pirate band. She used the captured ship, which was a brigantine, and renamed her "Valkyrie".
In the 4 years after she became a pirate captain, she swore her loyalty to the dutch as a dutch privateer. It was a excellent way of earning fame, money, and goods while having the protection of the Dutch on her ship. She became a feared force in the Caribbean, being called the "The Valkyrie of the Caribbean" after her ship.

WELL, what I was going for was not exactly a pirate. But not someone anti-pirate either. He's a teenager, around 15. He'd be sort of an enigma, but would focus on manipulation of Nen (a technique that allows someone to use and manipulate their own life energy, or aura) and incredible speed. I'm not even going to have him using weapons. Could I join your crew, though?

Prince-Bishopric Of Liege wrote:Name: Maximilien de Cauhaurs, Marquis the Belle-Isle
Nom de Guerre (if any): He is often referred to by his servants as ‘the marquis’
Age: In his early thirties
Gender: male
Appearance: (Image)
Occupation: plantation owner, cargo handler, supplier
Allegiance: To himself and to a certain degree to French interests.
Number of ships owned: None, but he has the means to charter them, should the need arise
Flagship: /
Crew / Fleet Size: Maximilien feels he has some twenty associates ha can trust, but he has the money to hire some thugs, but of course they are only as loyal as the coins keep flowing.
Notable crew members: : Adrien de Villiers is his second-in-command and often follows him where he goes. He poses as Maximiliens menservant, but he has a rather dark history as a street fighter.
Magical abilities (Y/N):
-Maximilien can force the elements to do his bidding for a certain time. The bigger the effect he is aiming for, the shorter he can keep it up. His gift is physically exhausting and may cause him to lose consciousness.
- Maximilien can also use telekinesis up to a certain degree, but only if he is looking directly at the subject and concentrating hard.
Non-magical abilities: He has a very good nose for business and he has very deep pockets. He is patient and highly intelligent.
Weaknesses: Maximilien despises physical violence and prefers to let other people do the battling. He is not a good sailor and an even worse shot (although he always keeps a gun near him –just in case-). He is not above manipulation, but his kind streak often gets the better of him.
Brief biography of character:
Maximilien was born a French aristocrat from a very noble, but also rather poor family. In the end, he was forced to leave his country to escape debtor’s prison and he travelled to the New World with nothing more than the clothes he was wearing and the reliable services of his manservant.
He arrived in Nassau penniless and he took up the role as clerk in a minor shipping house. During the nights, he frequented the many bars and taverns in the city, finding out about the people who lived there. It didn’t take long before he began dealing, providing a little bit of credit here, advising people about a legal deal there. It wouldn’t take long before pirates actually asked him for advice. He handled their goods and sealed their contracts. He became the middle man in a lot of small ventures and deals. After a while, he set up his own merchant house and became moderately successful. People who opposed him suddenly found themselves without friends and money. Maximilien certainly didn’t hesitate to use his ‘special abilities’ to harass his enemies.
After years of backhand deals, Maximilien outright bought some of the large plantations on the island and a dilapidated townhouse in Nassau. On the outside, he was a respectable landowner and merchant, a real pillar of the community. In the meantime, however, he still kept up rather large deals with the pirates on the island, buying their goods and supplying them with ammunition and provisions. Similarly, merchants who didn’t fancy their ships being sunk, could obtain the assurance from Maximilien that they wouldn’t, in exchange for a ‘voluntary contribution’. While the last years have been kind on Maximilien, he still lives for the day that he will be able to sell all his holdings and leave the depraved rotten world to retreat to the ancestral delights of la douce france.

If you want to, sure.
Basically the gist of it, is sort of inspired by Killua from Hunter X Hunter (at least the part about his family being assassins). The Borgia family is a family of Spanish assassins that can trace its underground roots back centuries, almost back to the Nizari Ismaili: the original historical assassins. He was trained from a very young age, inducted by force into the Borgia family's sinister line of work. Begrudgingly and without much of a choice Raúl learned the ancient philosophy of his family's order, trained in their disciplines, and eventually killed for them. Many times. Knowing that he was viewed only as a pawn in his father's web of deceit and treachery, and tired of a life of constant pain (he was tortured regularly as practice to build up his pain tolerance) Raúl escaped at the age of 11. For the next two years he would practically fall off the face of the earth. He was invisible. The truth was he was traveling through most of the known world training, trying to develop the strength he needed to finally avenge himself. High in the Himalayas he would find what he was looking for in the form of a crumbling temple and an unconventional master. During this time, a seal was placed on his stomach so that he would not be able to use a weapon, even in self defense. The price of disobedience was to endure crippling physical and psychological pain. This seal was placed on Raúl by the mountain-dwelling master in order to quell the dark forces that were harbored within the boy.. birthmarks of his lineage. It was during this time that Raúl was also taught Nen, a long-forgotten technique that allowed the user to manipulate his life force (also called an aura). At the age of 13 Raúl returned home, but he was there for a different reason. Under the cover of night he infiltrated the place he used to call home, butchered his family and his father (he actually used his father's own knife against him, which I know sounds contradictory due to his weakness but it'll be explained later if there's need to), and began to travel throughout Europe, ending up in England where he continued to ply his new trade as a Bounty Hunter after being sent to the Caribbean for reasons he will not disclose.

So why people didn't thought it's very weird for a very young boy to travel alone?

Different time periods I'd guess. He was an assassin from a family of assassins, had money, could fend for himself. I would suppose in those times if you had the money to purchase means to travel, not many questions would be asked. And if they were, Raúl would only ever say that he was traveling to his grandparents' estate in (insert country he was traveling to) and that his expenses had been covered by his parents. I don't think too much would come up from that.

Then it's an accepted history.

Sentinel XV wrote:Name: Raúl Borgia
Age: 15
Gender: Male (straight)
Appearance: Image
Occupation: Bounty Hunter
Allegiance: The highest bidder. Right now that would be the British government.
Number of ships owned: None
Flagship: N/A
Magical abilities (Y/N): Yes
List of magical abilities: Manipulation of Nen w/ an emphasis on Transmutation, superhuman speed.
Non-magical abilities: Various forms of martial arts and stealth techniques, acrobatics, literacy (can read & write), tracking and a potent form of pain suppression.
Weaknesses: Is forbidden to use any form of physical weaponry, to the point where if he even begins to strike with something other than his hands, he is wracked by excruciating and debilitating pain.
Brief biography of character: The Borgia are a family of secrecy, shrouded in the shadows of the criminal underworld. But what makes this family special is their ancient lineage, tracing back through the ages to within a generation of the very Nizari Ismaili warriors that gave their chosen trade its name. A family of.. Assassins. There are 7 of them: Abuelo, Padre, Madre, three Hijos, and a lone Hija. One of these Hijos, these sons of the Borgia Padre, was Raúl Borgia. He was trained from a very young age, inducted by force into the Borgia family's sinister line of work. Begrudgingly and without much of a choice Raúl learned the ancient philosophy of his family's order (the Despertar), trained in their disciplines (the Nen), and endured their barbaric routines and even tortures. Knowing that he was viewed only as a pawn in his father's web of deceit and treachery, and tired of a life of constant pain Raúl escaped his family's estate in Madrid at the age of 11. The next two years, he was a ghost. Never in one place for more than a few weeks at the most. With great wealth in these times comes easy travels, and although he had escaped the Borgia estate he did not part ways with the Borgia fortune. However, through all this, Raúl's intentions would become apparent. Driven by his will to define his own life, and cast free the bloodsoaked mantle of the family business, Raúl had set out to train to the point to where he could finally achieve what he had always wanted. High in the Himalayas he came upon a crumbling ruin perched amid the craggy peaks and snow cloaked cliffs. Within, a timeless monastery of Monks trained in not only every form of martial arts known at the time, but also forbidden techniques and dark secrets. It would be here that Raúl would attain his true mastery of his Nen and the martial arts, reaching levels of speed that defy that of any man. However, it would also be here that a seal was placed on Raúl's stomach so that he would never again be able to raise a weapon to strike, even if it were just or without evil intent. The price of disobedience would be for Raúl to endure crippling physical and psychological pain. This seal was placed on Raúl by the mountain-dwelling monks in order to quell the dark forces that were harbored within the young Borgia son, birthmarks of his lineage. At the age of 13 Raúl returned home, but he was there for a different reason. Under the cover of night he infiltrated the place he used to call home, cut down his parents where they stood using only his immense speed and his own hands. Without a moment's hesitation he then finished off both his younger and older brothers, his sister, and his grandfather: leaving only him. In his mind, avenged of the cruel blight that his so-called family had wrought upon both him and the world, he finally felt peace. With his final assassination completed, Raúl then began to travel throughout Europe, becoming a Bounty Hunter before he had even turned 14. Working for the highest bidder, he's traveled all over the world, again never staying in one place long, always moving from job to job. Currently, he is hired by British coin, straight from the Crown itself. A privateer, they call it. Reasons, though? Those he isn't too fond of sharing.
