The Third World War (IC/Open)

Postby Marsisian » Thu Feb 12, 2015 9:16 pm

On December 19, 1975, East German soldier Werner Weinhold shot and killed two East German border guards during his escape attempt to defect to the Federal Republic of Germany in Thuringia. Both sides returned fire at each other, leading to dozens of casualties among the NVA and Bundeswehr. Weinhold was acquitted in West German courts and as such, tensions between the Warsaw Pact and NATO suddenly reached a high point. NATO tried to deploy more troops along the border, but it was too late.

Pact troops launched a massive invasion along the borders of the divided European Continent, hoping to overwhelm NATO troops with an unexpected surprise attack. This attack didn't go to plan, however, and the advance stalled, most prominently with the East German offensive. Now both sides are preparing for total war against each other, a war that will likely exceed the level of destruction of both the Second and First World Wars. Meanwhile, in Asia, a surge in American patriotism and anti-communism results in rapid re-escalation of US involvement in Asia.

North Korea looks at South Korea, ready for another war while Japan looks to defend its neighbor from Communism.

Brigadegeneral Raskeiner looked at the map of mostly failed Pact advances into NATO territory. "Why did we attack? We were not ready for such an invasion!" "General, we still have a marked manpower advantage over the Western European nations." "True. Although we've lost our momentum, the Pact still has superior numbers. Overwhelming the Scandinavian nations will not be easy, but it can be done. NATO will likely overwhelm East Germany. I'm not sure our Oder-Neisse defensive line will hold." "The Soviets will surely help us, General. We're the last nation between the East Germans and Poland, and they're likely to defect at any moment now!"

The world was spiraling faster and faster into the flames of chaos and Gerry Adams had no plans of letting his beloved newly reunited nation of falling into the flames of chaos, so Gerry began a large review of the armed forces in order to find the best of the best to form a highly trained special forces team to protect Ireland from threats internal and external. "Mildred where's my tea" uttered Gerry as he walked out of the board room, he was followed by three other mysterious men whom promptly left after he did. "its in the kitchen You have legs use'em!' Gerry sighed, although Mildred wasn't the best house keeper she was loyal when need be and that was all that mattered. "Alright." It had been a long day of reviewing soldiers and their stats and Gerry and the mysterious men had finally gotten a handpicked team of men, some from questionable backgrounds but all were loyal to Ireland.

CANADA

Ottawa, 11:12 AM

The bursting news of the sudden shock of an outbreak of war flooded throughout the articles and swarmed the media deep into it's roots, this was expected and seen with many different perspectives among the Canadian government and its citizens, conflicting between Canadian participation, which is mandatory, with the successor from WW2, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization was taken into consideration with the vital arrangement for a defense, a call to arms if you will, to its allies upon attack.

With NATO and many government officials claiming a Third World War has been unleashed, many question Canadian involvement within the war, with the terms Canada agreed to upon the infamous foundation of NATO, the opposition is not taken to consideration, and any negative attitude for the betrayal of loyal allies are taken down considerably, with the Canadian Armed Forces on full-alert, war they say, has began. As the morning sun dawned, and loomed over the fallow fields of Saskatchewan, the calm, moist air was interrupted by the scenes of the jets, with flumes and smoke gusting out of the exhausts, as the fighters flew across the poorly illuminated grassland.

This was not a coincidence, with the conflict in Europe boiling up, Canadian forces began to take account of this, within hours after the incident, possible mobilizations and reserve-call-ups, recruitment plans and more were established immediate, this was no drill. Naval vessels began to dock off the shores of Newfoundland, and patrol the coastal waters, Canadian production lines, now benefited by a previous industrial plan begin to manufacture new air and naval units to maintain control over the arctic, against the USSR.

THEY HAVE ANNOUNCED; MOBILIZATION!

Parliament Hill was sent into a center of plans, the late evening of the day, as fellow RCMP marched through the winter snow that shined against the sun, the document was signed, ordering mobilization from the Canadian Armed Forces. Divisions, brigades and corps began to storm along the coastlines, and re-organized. However, with poor Canadian arctic infrastructure, the government averted a initial declaration of war for now, attempting to rapidly prepare Canada in a rushed manner, with paranoid threats.

Like the US in World War Two, the normal Canadian industry, although weak, was shifted into a massive propaganda and manufacturing machine, ordinary factories were demanded to be shifted to forge aircraft, naval vessels, tanks, by the end of the month, air drills peaked in activity, with Canada openly admitting a mobilization period, and denouncing the assault, giving a 48-hour warning for both sides to withdraw from front-line activity and skirmishes, to set one final attempt; to stop a world war.

(Will add more detail to the mobilization in the following posts)

Chapter I: Mobilization

The burning defeats at the hands of North Korea were still fresh in the minds of the South Korean government, which had effectively turned into a legal dictatorship under the fake guise of a democratic republic. Since the Korean War in the early 1950s, the Korean Army had been completely defeated and humiliated, being pushed back to the Pusan Perimeter. For the rest of the duration of the war the army was mainly consisted of relatively inexperienced Korean conscripts; with the end of the fighting in 1953 (the war still hasn't officially ended between NK and SK), the Korean Army rebuilt itself. Major reforms and a reshuffling of leadership strengthened the Army's central command and ability to respond to an attack or invasion. In the 60s, weapons and supplies flooded in from the US and Japan, allowing them to arm the military. With the beginning of the century, the Republic of Korea Army, as it was formally called, was completely different than it had been at the start of the Korean War.

The contingency plan for a North Korean invasion of South Korea was called OPLAN 5027 - it, before 1973, for the most part, involved South Korean forces retreating to better-defensible lines several miles below the DMZ to wait for reinforcements before launching a counterattack to destroy the North Korean invasion force. However, with the US withdrawal of Vietnam, Korean leaders questioned US commitment to the plan, and instead of having the Korean forces retreat OPLAN 5027 was changed to involve all available forces including armored, artillery, and aerial elements to rush forward 5 miles south of the DMZ to meet the invasion force. The combined Korean-American-Japanese force would then repulse the invaders, with 2 brigades of the American 2nd Division seizing the nearby city of Kaesong. There would be an around-the-clock bombing of significant civilian and military targets; it envisioned a short, quick war in which Pyongyang would fall quickly. But it had its flaws; a more realistic plan was drawn up involving the complete encirclement and annihilation of a North Korean invading force, and counted on Chinese/Soviet aid and intervention to potentially stop a South Korean advance.

Even with all of this in mind, the outbreak of war in Europe lead to a quick mobilization of the Korean military. Tens of thousands of troops rushed to assume positions near the DMZ as they carefully watched for signs of a possible invasion. Meanwhile, the Korean government called on its primary allies for troops and support in the case of an invasion, and requested more American and Japanese troops be sent to the Korean peninsula.

The room is filled with all major Soviet Politicians and Generals arguing about the war in Germany, one general says ,"We cannot support the East Germany Front, we must pull back to Prussia, Poland, and also Czechoslovakia!". Another General replies, "We cannot just abandoned our East Germany Allies!?". Leonid Brezhnev enters the room and quickly becomes silent, he sits down onto his chair and says,"The war in Eastern Germany must not be lost, but we cannot just abandon them." The room returns to be filled with arguments, "I propose that we can put a large force to help the Eastern Germans, and we can force NATO to deal with us diplomatically and also increasing our military influence towards our satellite states like Poland,Czechoslovakia,Prussia,Afghanistan,Romania,Bulgaria,East Germany, and also in North Korea and China to protect our eastern allies", said Leonid Brezhnev. "We all know that NATO does not want a full scale war with us sir, but how can we be sure that those NATO bastards are truthful sir?", says one general. "We will force this war to a stalemate which result to them calling a cease fire", says Leonid Brezhnev. "Meeting is finished, make sure send a elite divisions so that we would take less losses", says Leonid Brezhnev to the generals. "Yes we will send a Spetznaz Brigade supported by 2 VDV Divisions sir," says one General. As the Soviet Plan enacted, the Soviets also send 2 Armored Division to Prussia, since Poland already has a large military and also 3 Soviet Divisions.

A messenger from the KGB arrives, "Sir!, We have recent reports from our agents abroad of American Technological Advance and also reports of Canadian and South Korean Mobilization'".

Leonid Brezhnev is not surprised with this news,"What does the reports say about American Technological Advance?".

"It says sir that they have a new tank in development from the old military project MBT-70".

"Okay leave me, I will need to talk in private with someone else".

"Okay, sir".

Leonid Brezhnev calls the head of Soviet Military Research,"I need to speak to you, its seems those Capitalist Dogs are making a new tank better than our current MBT-70!"

"Oh Sir, we actually have a tank nearing end of trials, Its called T-80 and it equipped with a gas turbine engine for main propulsion, and this means its the first tank to have this type of propulsion sir."

"Oh good, will it be ready for production soon?",Leonid Brezhnev was excited.

"Yes, sir its will start production in early 1976".

"Good, also reinstate that old Ekranoplan project the USSR needs to show the west that we are not technologically inferior.",Leonid Brezhnev thought of new goal is to technologically beat the US to End the Cold War.

"Will do sir.",The call ended.

The Republic of Finland

Finnish Defense Ministry, Helsinki

Prime Minister Matti Virkkunen strode into the conference room, sipping at his coffee. A handful of generals and other staff officers fell silent at his entry. "Gentlemen, let us begin," he said simply, closing the door behind him as he took a seat at the table's head. The generals followed him, a dozen men taking seats on either side. On the wall opposite Virkkunen hung a detailed map showing Finnish garrisons, airbases, and present deployments superimposed over major cities. "General Haavisto, would you care to start us off?"

The old wizened head of the army nodded in silent acquiescence. "Well sirs, here is how things stand. NATO forces have bludgeoned the Pact offensive into a stalemate, the frontlines of which are more or less on the pre-war West-East German borders, with small NATO gains just inside the East German border. What's unclear is who will make the first move to break out of the stalemate, which will turn the central European theater of the current war fluid again. As a precaution against Soviet aggression, what amounts to almost the entire active duty military was mobilized on the 29th of December. Since then, infantry formations have fortified border checkpoints and placed numerous explosives along stretches of highway. The air force is on standby, ready to go at a moment's notice, as is the navy. 30,000 reservists are in the process of mobilizing now, with more likely to come later. The 2nd Infantry Brigade is here in Helsinki to assist in the evacuation of the government and foreign diplomats to Oelu, if and when the soviets come across the border. In the meantime, we sit, we wait, and we fortify." He turned to Virkkunen. "Does the Prime Minister find this acceptable?"

"I do." Virkkunen nodded. It was more or less what he had expected. What else could they possibly do? "On the diplomatic side of things, I am planning to contact the governments of Sweden, Norway, and Denmark to see if we can possibly enact closer cooperation with one another. If the Soviets opt for war, we'll attempt to sign on with NATO immediately, though I'm not eager to wave that in the Kremlin's face. In the meantime gentlemen, no statements are to be released, no notices posted. We will simply quietly continue mobilization. Am I clear?"

The assembled men quietly nodded in concurrence as the meeting turned to the more minute details of the mobilization.

THE UNITED KINGDOM

Downing Street, London.

Prime Minister Heath shifted uneasily in his chair. He was assured by the War Office that the Navy would keep abreast any invasion, but he was more worried about mainland Europe. He had spoken with NATO, but he still felt that without Britannia's full support, the war might not be won.

UK Command - London.
General Leister shifted around the board room, not fully sure on what the best course of attack was. However, the manifest read true. The British Expeditionary Force consisted of,

100,000 Troops, ready and trained to fight.
900 Challenger I tanks.
758 Jaguar Fighters.

The troops, under General Oliver's command, were awaiting the go-ahead from NATO command for orders.

Faisal Palace, Karachi
President Mahinder Kambarzahi was reviewing his speech in his head. He was about to address the nation on the subject of Pakistan's stance and position in worldly affair and in the new war between NATO and the Warsaw Pact. The nation was in a tough situation. Economically tied to both the soviets and Britain, it would be hard to choose. Pakistan had always been a great ally of Britain and an ally of socialism (like the soviets). To avoid losing either, he and his staff and advisors and parliament, the whole government pretty much, had voted to stay neutral militarily and just supply both, with a slow decrease in trade with the soviets due to them being the aggressors.
"Mr. Maninder, they're waiting." Jacque Assad said while standing at attention
"At ease, soldier. I will be out there in a moment." He took one last breath, and walked out onto the porch above the Large Faisal Courtyard, where nearly 2000 people were awaiting his speech.
Mahinder gazed far and long, left to right. Seeing nothing but glory and wealth. Pakistan was a rich and unified nation.
"People of Pakistan. I stand here before you today to put your minds at rest. Despite our shared ideals of socialism and the likes with the Soviet Union, we cannot betray the commonwealth. This does not in any way mean we are betraying our socialist ideals." He paused. "We will instead be staying neutral for the safety and preservation of Pakistan. We are only growing, and shall continue to grow as we have trade with both sides and are excellent allies of some of the most dominant economic and military powers of the world. The one enemy we have is India. Yet, I still hope to resolve tensions between Pakistan and India as their is no need for hatred between two nation on the same subcontinent. Though our lands may be divided with India in the middle, we are still strong and united! We still stand by our beliefs and the commonwealth. We preserve our freedom and culture. Dare India, or anyone, attack us, we will always stand together, strong and proud, fighting for our nation. God bless Pakistan and all it's great people!"

Tokyo, Japan
Prime Minister Takeo Miki was solemn and grim. Japan had vowed never again to declare war unless it were seriously threatened in some way. Yet, how could he ignore this? He could only hope it didn't bring ruin to Japan. It was, after all, the only nation in history upon whom Nuclear Weapons were used, and the Japanese had no wish to repeat that experience. No matter. He had a duty to declare war either way. In front of the Prime Minister's Official Residence, also known as Kantei, he was giving a speech to a crows of the Japanese population numbering thousands.

"People of Japan." He began. "As of today, a state of war officially exists between the State of Japan and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. This is due to a unwarranted Soviet invasion of our strong trading partner, the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as fighting other nations with economical ties to Japan, and initiating several border skirmishes in Southern Sakhalin. The Government of Japan, for the most part, has no wish to fight a war. We, more than any other nation currently existing on this Earth, have seen the horrors of war, as well as the horror of Nuclear Weapons. It is not an experience we wish to repeat. Yet the offenses of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics are too numerous to ignore, and the State of Japan is directly threatened by their recent actions. As such, we will be assisting the Americans and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Normally the Japanese Self-Defense Force would be limited to Defensive Operations, since it is a war of such tremendous size and danger, Parliament voted to lift the ban on Offensive Operations. A Draft has gone into place. We will be invading the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Long live the Emperor! Long live Japan!" The normally emotionless Politician screamed this part with such force that it moved much of the crowd. "Nagaiki Nihon!" They cried. "Nagaiki Nihon!" "Nagaiki Nihon!" "Nagaiki Nihon!"

Once the cheering died down, Takeo Miki continued. "No man in Japan wishes for war. But if the Soviets wish for war, we shall give it to them. We shall teach them that the Japanese do not betray their alliances." He said, ominously. Then he went back into the Kantei.

North-Central Sakhalin/North-Western Sakhalin
8,000 Japanese Troops, comprising nearly all of the 2nd Infantry Division and sections of the 5th Infantry Brigade, launched a quick offensive into North-Central and North-Western Sakhalin. Initially overcoming resistance there, due to Soviet Units being drawn away to Europe, they soon approached the towns of Tymovskoye and Alendrovsk-Sakhalinsky. Against them were 3,000 Soviet Soldiers from the 18th Machine Gun Artillery Division, who had been deployed in the South of Soviet Sakhalin to watch for the Japanese. Now it was time for battle. The Japanese Commander gave the order to enter the towns.

Bangkok, The Mekong Union

Field Marshall Chayan Sarit sat in his study, thinking about the war breaking out in Europe and Sakhalin. Field Marshall Sarit would have to lead the Mekong Union, a NATO-aligned country, into war with the Soviets because of their alignment. He frowned at the thought of leading the newly formed country into war, as they had just gotten out of the guerrilla war against the communists in the region which was costly. If Communism was threatening their nation once again, then he, and others within the Military Council of the Mekong, would defend it with their lives.

Chapter II: Korea Enters the Fray

Seoul
Republic of Korea

Korean President Park Chung-hee was surrounded by his advisors and most important generals, as he prepared for a speech to the nation. "Obviously we must support our allies against the looming evil known as communism. We must support them in any way we can." Having near absolute power and control over South Korea there was no sign of opposition from his generals or advisors. Stepping out of the building, President Park Chung-hee faced the crowd that had gathered before him to hear his speech. Police officers and soldiers made sure that they didn't get too close, and Park himself was surrounded by two bodyguards.

"People of my nation...today we face a time of great tension and turbulence. The looming threat of communism invades our sovereignty and independence, and is an evil that must be destroyed. In response to unprovoked Soviet acts of aggression against our us and our allies, this is in fact nothing less than a full declaration of war on the Republic of Korea and its people. All diplomatic ties that we may have had with these nations are to be severed, their cities bombed, and their ports blockaded. I call upon the people to support the government and military's efforts in toppling the Soviet puppet regime known to many as North Korea; as long as their are two Koreas, then peace is impossible."

"In this speech I order the commencement of hostilities with North Korea and the disbandment of the Korean Armistice Agreement. The full might of the Korean military, our resources, and our manpower are to be put towards the war effort, and directed towards destroying communism once and for all."

Shortly after the speech, troops clashed throughout the DMZ, with the Korean I Corps consisting of several divisions being deployed to attack and seize Kaesong along with US forces. In addition, President Park Chung-hee has pledged over 40,000 Korean soldiers to help the Japanese in seizing all of Sakhalin.

CANADA

Ottawa, 6:30 PM

You see the distant flames that bellow in the night. Conflicts waged throughout the world as a new global conflict seemed imminent, the threat of a possible nuclear became fact, and shook fear into the hearts of many, as the Canadian nation began to embrace itself for full-fledged conflicts, it had seen anew the causalities of the unfolding war.

In east Asia, as Japan waged war all out with the USSR for the 3rd time in this century, casting a new shadow of rivalry with the fierce skirmishes along the close maritime borders. With the 48 hour ultimatum being abstained, Canada removed its shell of toxic neutrality, and with mobilization at full speed ahead, with most forces rapidly organized and moved directly to the front lines, or if needed, the Canadian nation took cover for the flames of war.

With the war bringing the planet to a possible confrontation to death's doorstep, the Canadian minister of foreign affairs announced public support for Japan for the time being, intimidating the Soviets to withdraw their campaign, however, as expected; this tragically failed. It seemed likely amongst the navy that the arctic would possible shift into a war zone, with this caught aware, activities rapidly increased in the region over the course of several days, and ongoing until further notice (peace).

However, this was also recognized as a useless confirmation aside from the oil deposits, unless backup is not recalled, the Canadian navy could receive lethal blows in the battlefield, and both sides could see the use of ground troops in the areas as a waste of manpower and resources. Attention then turned towards Vancouver, with all systems, even the arctic prepared. Destroyers had already dispatched from shore; heading off to nearby coastal waters, with incoming commands claiming a possible naval intervention in the war between Japan and the Soviets, this however, remained undecided.

The Republic of Korea also shook the foundation to its core with the decision of the declaration of warfare, this lead Canada to a path of upcoming doom and destruction, with hours ticking by, days and days, the crisis only worsened, and there was seemingly no demands for peace. On that very evening of that day, mobilization was half-way complete, yet the Canadian government wished to step in as soon as possible, as a home front on the Canadian mainland would be extremely unlikely. Production lines were spurring with mass-produces, and civilian manufacturing shifting to the military gear, similar to the US in WW2, but on a smaller scale.

With aircraft scrambling around strategic points, and brigades/divisions successfully organized with their HQ's, and naval defensive lines in Canadian waters, the militarily forces was ready. And so it began, whom to be known as the greatest conflict in the troubled age of mankind.

OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE OF CANADA

Subject: DECLARATION OF WAR
Encryption: MAXIMUM
Received: Canada
Sent: Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

Greetings, your excellency.

It has came to our attention with your attitude of proclaimed aggression, and escalated warfare within the Asian continent, it is engraved towards our interests to shift into a halt against your plans. Although it saddens us for your refusal to accept, we are left with our only option, shalt it be a evil of the world, yet a forceful option if best. Prepare for war.

Signed, Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau

With the en-route sent under progress, defensive lines were strategically established, to gain a advantage over a Soviet offense, yet Canada helped not to underestimate the Russians, as they knew they had plenty in stock, some wished for a specific stockpile to never be unleashed, or it were to erase all life on this beautiful planet. Naval squadrons were fortified, although the threat of a possible immediate Soviet response was unlikely, yet aircraft still scrambled and troops were lined up for defensive and offensive use.

It had come, Canada were to be in a state of war between the communist forces, alongside NATO and western allies. "So it begins."

(Will get more into the war in the next post)

Kremlin War Room,Moscow,USSR
The news of South Korea and Canada declaring war diminished the mood in the War Room. "IF ITS WAR THEY WANT, THEY WAR THEY WILL GET, permission to move the USSR to DEFCON 1," says one General. "No......We must tell the Canadians we never started this war this Japan", says one political advisor. "NO IT WILL SHOW US THAT WE ARE WEAK AND PATHETIC COWARDS FLEEING FROM WAR?!" says by the same General. "If we continue into this way we will lead Humanity into Extinction," says the political advisor. "EVERY ON STOP THIS BICKERING, Move the USSR's status to DEFCON 1, write a telegram to the Canadian Government.......Mobilize all Military Forces in the USSR, Activate all ICBMs...", said Leonid Brezhnev.

We don't know why you declared war on us, on the contrary the JAPANESE attacked Soviet Garrison forces in Sakhalin Island. We are not aggressors, we are not evil. If we are evil then why did we give the freedom of education for all genders in the country of Afghanistan? Why does the west always think that Communism is bad? Don't you remember WW2 where millions of Russian died for their country and now your "allies" want to tarnish their legacy. We respect our people and we know that their were bad people in power of the USSR these years, but this is the present. Japan is trying to provoke me to launch a ICBM to their lands which will obviously provoke the US and which will lead to the destruction of the Human Race. We both know we don't want to become extinct.....In Europe.....we are proposing a cease fire BUT NOW IT MAY NEVER HAPPEN IF THIS KEEPS HAPPENING TO THE WORLD. It seems that the west thinks that Russians are the new Nazis. We don't kill Jews, we don't burn books, and we don't believe in a master race. We are ALL human, If you really want to sacrifice your people to the greater good, then don't declare war at all. With SOUTH KOREA'S PROVOCATION IT FORCED US TO GO TO DEFCON 1, The USSR is at a brink of shooting all our ICBMs to anyone who has wronged us. Why did we event fight for the Arctic, I know it has oil but its just a giant pile of ice. Please reconsider declaring war on us we don't want to lose more people through war and we know you don't want that too. Also PLEASE ADVISE THE SOUTH KOREAN AND JAPANESE GOVERNMENTS TO WITHDRAW, IF THEY CONTINUE THEIR AGGRESSION WE WILL HAVE TO RETALIATE WITH NUCLEAR WEAPONS.

Truly,
Leonid Brezhnev

The Republic of Finland

Finnish War Ministry, Helsinki

Inside the war room, the mood was grim indeed. It had been three days since the Emergency Committee (EC) of Finland had convened in the same room. An updated world map displaying new developments in the war was hung from the blackboard. Flame icons had been placed in Korea and Sakhalin to represent the recent fighting there. Canada's declaration of war against the USSR was also major news; but not unexpected, as they were of course a NATO member.

From another wall hung a localized map of Finland and bordering Soviet provinces, with newly mobilized Finnish units and their current deployments portrayed as black squares. Finland's Emergency Committee consisted of the three military branch heads, the Defense Minister, the President and the Prime Minister.

"So, Erkki, how is mobilization coming along?" Prime Minister Matti Virkkunen started off the meeting with a question directed at Erkki Jovalla, the Defense Minister.

"It's continuing as we speak, Prime Minister. We now have 90,000 men deployed in the field after the latest mobilization of reservists. The stretches of highway on the Soviet border are being broken up and destroyed in some places to hinder an armoured advance. Anti-tank mines are being placed along the sides or in some cases just under the highways to reinforce the point. Furthermore, most of our tank and APC force is being pulled back west of Kajaani, in order to preserve the vehicles for later use. As to manpower, at the current mobilization rate we're going to have 200,000 men raised and armed 40 days from now As I just stated earlier, we're nearly halfway done with this goal. Training them will be more difficult, but if we obtain NATO assistance then that issue will be alleviated somewhat."

Virkkunen nodded. "Well, that's about the best we can hope for at the moment. With regards to further mobilization, the Emergency Defense Act narrowly passed parliament this morning, so that should be of considerable assistance to you, Erkki. Though I wish to stress of course that conscription is a last resort." Virkkunen then opened the file in front of him, withdrawing a packet of papers. "Alright, well let's clarify the boundaries of our fronts for a bit. After which, I will contact the Soviet government regarding Karelia. As previously stipulated, we all need to meet outside Parliament at 7 PM for the army to escort the government to Oulu."

General Secretary Leonid Brezhnev, USSR

At this time, Finland wishes to request new negotiations over territorial concessions made in the aftermath of the Winter War. We hope these talks will be more fruitful than the 1946 debacle.

Sincerely,

Matti Virkkunen, Prime Minister of Finland

"What is the ETA of the 41st Division?", said one General. "They will be their in 1 day sir", said by Comms. Officer. "Send a message to the Air force in the area to target any armored vehicles, artillery, ammunition, we need to limit the death toll for both sides, also order a air drop for a VDV division into the Sakhalin," said the General. "Okay sir will do" said the Comms. Officer. "Also tell our Pacific Fleet submarines to disable but not sink any JMSDF or South Korean ships they see, keep the Surface Ships of the Pacific Fleet to Patrol Soviet Naval Territory to prevent any attacks to the mainland", said the General.
To:Matti Virkkunen
From:Leonid Brezhnev
If this is another of NATO's attempt to escalate the war....You know if you declare war on the USSR, we can launch our airborne divisions to your major cities in one simple message also since we are fully mobilized we can swiftly strike your cities.......But I won't at all since I am a civilized communist not those communist whom are barbaric in western pop culture. The USSR is currently in DEFCON 1 and we are ready to launch every single nuclear weapon we have with one push of a button, tell your NATO cronies that if more and more nations declare war on the USSR we will have to launch our nukes at every single major city of major NATO nations. We don't want war and we know you don't want war either, but my country is being cornered like a rat with extremely dangerous weapons. About Karelia, I propose that you can have Eastern Karelia, and we will keep Western Karelia since its extremely near Leningrad which is one of the Major Cities in the USSR. But the thing we want for you is a Non-Aggression Pact so we can both know that we won't attack each other out of spite. I respect the Finnish people for fighting off the Russian Army who were forced by a egotistical megalomaniac Joseph Stalin, and I hope that Soviet Soldiers would not have to step into Finland again because of another petty war.

Truly,
Leonid Brezhnev

The aging Reinhard Heydrich looked at the newspaper below. War had broken out between the communists and capitalists. He could already tell from the sounds of shelling he heard from above their bunker. He glanced around the room, filled with fifty or so men in civilian clothing. On the walls, aging and fading flags bearing the swastika stood static in the still air of the room. Reinhard moved his feet off his desk and groaned as he weakly stood up.

"My friends, you may believe the outbreak of war may end our operations that have been occurring since 1945" Reinhard spoke out, his fist now tightly grasping around his cane "I can assure you, this is not the case. This war will help us."

"With the bodies being piled, and vehicles and weapons being left to rot. We have a larger surplus than ever. With the people angry and scared at the leaders of Germany. Our chances of gaining new recruits heighten."

The men in the room would grin as Reinhard continued "This is our time to fight, to take back what belongs to the fatherland. Men, we are preparing ourselves for war. Once small towns will become bases, civilians will fight to save Germany, and finally our insurgency will succeed."
Reinhard would raise his right hand in the air, giving a salute to his men who cheerfully saluted their Führer back.

"Sieg Heil!" They chanted.

Rosenheim had not suspected that a mildly large warehouse plastered with the logos of a car company that died off years ago, was a base for the infamous Werewolf group. Inside where men in brown dress shirts, wearing black pants and jackboots. A rough estimate of eighty of them or so gathering weapons from a below floor stash. The plan for the capture of the city was simple. Terrorists outside the city had begun to cut all lines of power to Rosenheim, while explosives where placed in vans at every road into the city. Cleverly placed in a fake crash scene, stalling traffic. The men in the warehouse would wear various kinds of steel helmets, wether be Stahlhelms from the second world war, or United States military helmets bought by some suppliers. "Alright Klaus, load the trucks with men." Spoke the commander of the unit, who wore a black shirt to identify himself. The soldier named Klaus obeyed, whistling to the other mento start loading up in the three trucks bearing Coca Cola, and various other business's logos.

Once all the men loaded into the trucks, the Sturmbannführer pulled on a switch. The door opening as the trucks rolled out down the Warehouse's driveway onto the roads towards town.

A lot of people had left days earlier. The war was driving people away from Germany, even police running away from the hellfire soon to come. This made things easier for Der Werewolf's insurgency. The trucks strolled down peacefully towards the town below...

Prussian Frontline
January 12, 1975

Heavy fighting was taking place on the frontline between NATO troops and troops of the NFA. A Prussian captain was radioing to the regional headquarters for more troops. Artillery was shelling the entire place to bits, trenches were set up, tanks were mowing down troops, and it was generally just a hellhole of a warzone, even in the Captain's rudimentary command post. "Verdammt! Wir brauchen mehr Verstärkungen an dieser Position wird Feind Freilauf uns!" "Nein! We cannot provide reinforcements to your position right now, we're stretched thin as it is!"

Suddenly, a surprising thing happened. Prussian troops all over the front line attacked their own comrades, declaring themselves to be aligned with NATO. More than half of the military deserted and joined the Armee Preußische Freiheit, or Army for Prussian Freedom. Riots and small revolts broke out in cities, some even were fiercely fought over by loyalist troops and rebels.

Stettin
Capital Building
Three days later

The President stood looking over the city of Stettin. Street fighting between the rebels and loyalists had happened throughout the city's districts and they were rapidly losing ground. Troops of the Volksgarde busted into the door. "Herr Präsident, we are being forced to arrest you. Please put your hands behind your back. Prussia is now free from the influence of the dirty Reds now." "I don't think so." The President took out a pistol and shot two before being killed.

Belfast
Belfast was experiencing a large economic boost brought on by several gold deposits as well as tin deposits found in a few pits just outside the city putting hundreds of people back to work, The government knew that this luck would not last however that didn't mean they couldn't take advantage of it so Gerry decided to have a meeting with several large business owners. "My friends I have summoned you to this meeting because you all provide so many jobs for the people of our strong nation and a I wish to keep it like that, im prepared to lower your business taxes by 2.5% for every 50 people you hire this shall stop at the tax rate of 7%." The men looked around at each other not able to believe their luck but still wondering why the government would be allowing such a deal. "Why exactly are you handing out such a sweet deal?" Gerry couldn't help but smile at their obvious idiocy, he wasn't doing this for his own personal gains he was doing this for the good of the country. "Gentleman I am merely doing this because it is what is best for our nation and you should do the same." In almost perfect harmony the men said "Of corse!" "You may all be excuse you are after all very busy gentleman." "Thank you sir" and they all left.

Cork
In Cork thousands of men have been made aware of the possible draft if the Soviets make it past Britain. hundreds of people have also been authorized to build personal Bunkers incase the soviets unleash their nuclear weapons upon those who stand against them. Gerry Adams delivered a speech to the crowds amassed in the square "The world is in turmoil that is no secret but we must not let this hell continue we must do something to stop the aggressive behavior of the soviet monsters be it through military intervention or through political means, after all political means did help us reunite our beloved country."

Secret mission
A few days earlier a small commando team of 5 loyal Irish citizens had been chosen for a top secret mission to establish diplomatic relations with the soviet union and had left early in the morning from the town of Wexford then arrived in Portsmouth and then to Hirtshals and was awaiting a chance to sneak into the soviet union through Kolobrzeg Prussia.

The trucks rolled into the town without any stops, the men in the back loading their weapons and checking ammo as all three of the vehicles ground to a halt at the town hall. The back doors of the truck opened as the men jumped out, aiming their rifles ahead of them. They moved in a tactical line and lined up at the front door of the city hall.

The Sturmbannführer looked at his watch tick to 2:30, and shouted "GO!" He placed a makeshift explosive on the City Hall's door and jumped away as it exploded. As the clock turned to 2:30, the truck bombs on the roads exploded. Causing a chain reaction as cars stuck in traffic exploded as well. The power lines to the town where snapped and it went dark.

Some gun shots came out of the city hall before it went silent. The sturmbannführer looked up and saw two of the insurgents waving a Nazi flag from a window.
He grinned as he turned over towards the truck and ordered some soldiers to pull out a generator and hook it up to the now Nazi occupied city hall.

A few hours later..

Outside the town, vans started rolling in from the south. With makeshift holes cut out on the roofs of the vehicles, men with MG42's would be standing out of the holes, their MG's hooked onto the roof of the vans. An extra two hundred insurgents where called by the Führer to arrive at the town enforce the occupation. They wore camouflage uniforms and carried more professional equipment. Swastika armbands on their left arms and balaclavas concealing their face.

Of course these units did get into heavy resistance, cutting their forces to 155. But they made it to Roseinheim. The current capital of the new Reich.

Official French Declaration of war upon the Eastern Bloc

"Only 30 years ago, the guns that shoke the Earth silenced as the largest war ever known to mankind ended. The end of World War 2 saw the new divide between the Free World and the West. With this new divide, it seemed inevitable a third conflict would soon appear and swallow the Earth once more. We have made it beyond the gap between the first two world wars, which was twenty-one years; and yet still the Communists had to revert to the old barbaric ways of all out conflict. It it show clearly now, that Communism and Capitalism cannot live side by side in this world. As of today, January 13th, 1975, a state of war exists between the Republic of France and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, along with all other members of the Warsaw Pact. It saddens me that peace cannot last upon this Earth, even when mankind has shown it has the ability to stop war in all forms."

West Germany
Private Johann Garelonn sat on top of a AMX-10P. As French forces began rustling towards the front lines, AMX-30s, AMW-10Ps, and VABs rapidly moved across the landscape. Pvt. Garelonn looked down at his MAT-49. The old smg was ineffective and very far behind the more advanced weapons like the M16 or AK-47. All around where other armored vehicles, soldiers sitting on top of all of them. The French forces expected to reach the front in a day or two. A soldier sitting next to Pvt. Garelonn spoke up. "Why don't the Commies just go back to Russia, and leave Europe alone." Another soldier replied. "I don't know, you expect me to magically go to into the mind of a Communist, while I'm at it, why don't I just ask Satan himself." The soldier who first spoke rolled his eyes. "It was a rhetorical question wise one, now I suggest you shut your trap before I put the butt of my 49 into your face." A sergeant near the front of the vehicle replied. "Both of you, shut it, save your aggression for Easterns." Private Garelonn looked over at another armored vehicle nearby. A few soldiers sat atop it, similar to the vehicle Pvt. Garelonn was on. Some of the soldiers didn't even look like they had hit 20, yet they where being sent off into near certain death...

An elderly man in tattered civilian clothing stumbled in the path way of the French vehicles. The man patted the explosive device on his desk and began moving forwards towards the approaching trucks and armored vehicles of the French Army. The man would pull the pin on his chest bomb, a mixture of some forks, knives and C4. He picked up his pace and began running towards the French vehicles, his aged NSDAP party pin reflecting some of the sun's light. He began screaming "FUR DAS REICH! HEIL HITLER!" As he got closer to the French vehicles.

The loud thump of the man slamming into a VAB APC, was overshadowed by the large boom of his explosive going on. Effectively destroying the vehicle that hit him.

Shrapnel flew anywhere unaffected by the explosion, mostly knives and forks and the NSDAP pin of the German man scattered about. The body missing and the APC a firery mess.
