In 1955, when Communist Parties and Insurgencies sprung up in Laos and Cambodia, which Thailand took notice of, as both shared borders to them, and sent forces to both countries to fight the Communists. While Thailand was aiding the Anti-Communists Forces, North Vietnam aided the Communist Forces, causing relations to deteriorate rapidly from what little relations they had. In 1972, Vietnamese aid to the Communist insurgencies was not enough to take overrun the Anti-Communist forces, being aided by the Thais. In early 1973, the three governments of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Kingdom of Laos, and the Kingdom of Cambodia came together, not wanting any war to come between them, they formed the Mekong Coaltion, with its namesake derived from the river they all shared. In 1974, the Mekong Coalition turned into a Federation of all three countries.

In the immediate aftermath of WW2, Finland attempted unsuccessfully to renegotiate the Winter War territorial changes with the USSR. From then onwards, the unsteady peace developed into a more stable, but distrustful and suspicious relationship. Finland leaped with glee into the roaring market of the 1950's, building profitable relationships with much of western Europe and acquainting itself with the United States, who held several exercises with Finnish forces in the late 50's and throughout the 60's, as well as becoming Finland's main source of purchased military equipment. However, wishing to avoid further antagonizing the Soviets, Finland refused an American offer to join NATO in 1971.

A 1963 border incident between Finnish paramilitaries and USSR border guards that left 17 dead brought the country's attention back to the threat in the east. The 1964 elections put the center-right National Coalition Party in power, and major cuts to welfare were enacted in order to upgrade and expand the FDF.

With war now breaking out not only in Europe but across the world yet again, the active duty portions of the FDF have been deployed to the USSR border, while much of the reserve has been mobilized or placed on immediate standby. The Finnish parliament is now considering revising conscription laws to allow for an expanded force.

Feudalism simply wouldn't work during the Cold War. It was outdated by the Colonization of the Americas, so it most certainly would have been outdated by the Cold War. But hey, if you want to have a weak economy on the world stage, be my guest.

I also would like an explanation as to how you took the Spratly islands, seeing as the PRC controls nearly none of them, despite claiming all of them.
