Why do all fictional apocalypses happen in September? I'm not even joking; is there, like, a mass subconscious link between September and the apocalypse? Maybe the phenomenon started in 9/11 when people started to associate disaster with September on a subconscious level. I don't know... you know what I mean?

Jesus, man! When I said Ukraine, I meant the Russian thing with them right now, not that the USSR is back!!

Thinking about it, though... how would a modern USSR look like? It would certainly be interesting.

Appearance: Light-skinned, a bit freckled. 5’1, average build, if a little bit strong from archery. Long straight black hair, usually wears it in a ponytail or braid. Very dark brown eyes, nearly black. Has a tendency to burn in the sun, and then burst out in more freckles when the burn fades. (Can’t find a picture for the image I’ve got in my head, will post one later.)

Personal Views: Caroline has little interest in politics. She’s always tuned out her dad talking about the town and other residents. She’s focused on getting out of Jericho as soon as she finishes school, and going to college in Los Angeles. In the meantime, though, Jericho will do for a while longer.
Occupation: Senior in high school with a part-time job as a page at Jericho Library.
Weapons: One recurve bow, one compound bow, eighteen carbon fiber field arrows, and a small pocket knife

Bio: Born in Greeley, Colorado to a pair of young university students, Caroline spent the beginning of her life being shuffled between her inexperienced parents and her concerned grandparents, none of which were prepared for a baby. Never married, her parents split up after graduation, and Caroline went back to Anaheim, California with her mother, Ruth. She grew up in the shadow of Disneyland without ever seeing what was inside, spending her days kicking around the scrubby courtyard of a stucco apartment building and doing nothing of much importance. After being caught with a boy (and only eleven), Caroline got put on a plane and sent off to be her no-good father’s problem. Her no-good father was actually Alexander Wells, now a single, driven banker with a bright future. He took Caroline in with the goal of making up for her bland childhood, and though she had to repeat the seventh grade to make up for her failing grades and the move, she was soon doing well. With her father’s help, Caroline developed a passion for books and writing, and enrolled in archery lessons (where she learned she was a decent shot, if no Katniss). Now, at eighteen, Caroline has just started her senior year of high school, and is planning to go to college in Los Angeles as an English major. She loves her dad and Jericho is nice enough, but she’s tired of farms and wide open spaces and Sunday congregations. The Monday that everything changes, her father is visiting his parents in Fort Repose, Florida, and Caroline is left to her own devices, which is usually just as she likes it.

Although he managed to barely scape enough to get a credit for Science, he decided early on he would be a politician. Inheriting his Father's Gas Station, he gave it to his brother, and then moved to Jericho, where he worked, for most of his life, as a clerk, but often times got part-time jobs putting in signs for different Political Parties. After 20 Years, he decided his political skills had been honed, and he became involved in the Mayor's Office, serving as the Mayor's Assistant.

He respects the law and the people that he works with at the Medical center. To most people, this amiable guy may seem weak and naive, but he will do whatever it takes to protect what he loves and all he's worked for.

Can we see the explosion, and are any electronics affected? Because I don't think the EMP could have traveled as far as Kansas, unless it was a high orbital detonation...
