It was a calm peaceful yet unusual day in Jericho, Kansas and it was going to go to hell. A new family from D.C. moved into town. Mayor Johnston Green had a successful re-election a year back. Sheriff Carl Lockley hasn't seen a murder in his career. Jonah Prowse, the town gang leader had a bunch of bandits that occasionally would conduct robberies along Route 70's many cities. The closest town with a Costco and Home Depot was Glen Bern, a few miles down 70 towards Junction City. A man, son of the mayor, and after five years of secretive service in Ravenwood Private Military Corps over in Iraq and Afghanistan, returned home with no intent to share his experiences overseas and set out for San Diego. Though it was a bit strange, the slow, tired town could handle it. But soon something far more sinister was about to happen. It was September 15th, 2014 when it would happen. Across America the biggest terrorist attack in history would occur. And it would wipe out millions and counting for time to come. America would see its hardest test. A Trial by Fire.
You are a citizen of Jericho. Whether a farmer, a lawyer, a shopkeeper, a policemen or a day to day laborer you live here and will see the biggest change that a small Kansas town could see. Jericho is heavily armed with guns, however, hardly any residents are war veterans, something that helped Mayor Green win his election. Bailey's Tavern, the only pub in town located on main street is where you go for each football season and as a nice friendly hearted pub, families are welcome for dinner. The Mayors office is in the large town hall along with the sheriffs office. The Medical Center is on the other side of the central part of town. You live either in the Center of the town, the outskirts, or are a farmer. The biggest farm in the city owned by Stanley Richmond helps provide local food to the town and a salt mine which supplies it and Glen Bern with salt while exporting across the county. Several farmhouses run on generators but others don't and the wide majority couldn't last for more than a week or so without a decent refill.
The Mayor Johnston Green is the long time mayor of Jericho, he is not affiliated with any political party and though is conservative at heart does not allow it to corrupt his politics as mayor. He looks out for the town, allowing it to thrive with its small 4,700 person population. He served in the Vietnamese War as a US Army Ranger Sergeant and is a brave, generous and kind man. He works with Sheriff Lockley who is a bit more conservative but has kept the peace for his ten years as sheriff. The Jericho Police are well armed and supplied thanks to low crime rates in a conservative county which continuously resupplies police stations with ammunition regardless of the crime rate. The deputies are very loyal and as they live in the city, they try to look out for it. However, with what's coming their way, everythings about to get complicated.
To say war never changes is wrong, the reasons we use never change, but what means we have of doing it will forever worsen.
Realism and Rules
-No Metagaming god damnit! You don't know whats going on out there unless someone tells you!
-No Godmodding either. Thats just uncool and a sloppy reason to have to be kicked from the rp.
-Radiation, Starvation, Thirst, Disease and yes People can kill you. This isn't Hollywood, you're not invincible.
-No Hollywood Guns, this applies to having to reload and have set ammunition. No one gets military grade weapons unless I say so. And don't ask for it at the start, then you won't ever get it.
-Phobias Oh My! Yes, be scared, when you see mushroom cloud it isn't the time for a celebration.
-No psycho killing. No psychopath characters, this is a small town with no murder rate in forty years. You can kill people, but not randomly, after all, these are the neighbors you've known all your life.
-Gangs don't exist in this town. The only 'Gang' is Jonas Prowses group, they are ruthless and will be more so when the bombs hit, but unless you're with him, you're not a gang member. And yes, he doesn't have AK's and M4A1's at his disposal.
-Guns. Guns. Yes you all get to have guns. But no one gets a military grade weapon, and most of you only get hunting rifles, shotguns and various pistols (particularly glocks).
-If you become a police officer. Realize the access to M16's and Grenades are not for your to abuse.
-Family out of town? Sorry they're not coming back for a while. The nation itself's gonna be on the brink of survival.
-Have fun or I'll kick you from the rp. Got it?
