Commanding Officer: Captain Klaus Schweitzer ( Formerly Lieutenant )

Number of Guardsmen: 200 Supported by Seventeen Chimera's

Support:
Standard infantry kit : Hellgun w/ High Capacity Backpack , Auto-pistol w/ Three Magazines , Carapace armor , Stormtrooper Long Deployment Gear ( Night-vision gear , Advanced radio equipment , rations , medical kits ect. ) Three Fragmentation Grenades . A Single Infantry Squad of Twelve men is divided into two - Six man fire-teams each containing one Special weapons gunner armed with a Melta-gun ,This provides extreme tactical flexibility in the Urban operations the 82nd commonly finds themselves in .Each Twelve man Squad is attached to a Chimera IFV that is armed with a Turret Mounted Autocannon , and a Hull Heavy Bolter - , A quite common occurrence is for the Vehicles commander to man a top-pintle mounted Heavy Stubber that has a Gunners Apron to protect him from incoming fire . This Allows every Squad to make an accurate firebase and they are actively able to lock down highly contested areas and effectively assault even the most Heavily Defended Enemy positions .

While commonly Valkarian troops are trained in Drop tactics there are rare occasions that select individuals are sent to Heavy Infantry Units where the receive the most advanced equipment the Guard has to offer , While The Particular Unit of the 82nd is Specially trained for Urban Combat . The Vehicles in their Unit contain many items that are useful in urban environments such as Track Guards , RPG cages and Dozer Blades to name a few but these are mainly bolted onto command vehicles only , however more may gain it as the unit is resupplied . Individuals of the 82nd often have personal weapons that they secured either from the enemy or " Liberated " from Quartermasters , the most common addition is pump action Shotguns as well as heavy Stub Pistols , other times they "procure" items such as melta bombs and Flamer fuel for their own uses and the Unit itself is actually fairly renown for their Moonshine that is made from a mix of Promethium and Lasgun power pack juice , it is commonly accepted that they trade this Liquid fire for many items such as Iho sticks all the way up to Melta gun ammunition. However the 82nd is notorious for having the Commissar's be killed due to "friendly fire " incidents and as of current there are none present . One of the most sacred things to the Valkarins is their Facial Tattoo's of Their tribes , which long gone in The literal sense , is still a major part of their honor system . If any outsiders are to receive this tattoo they are considered to be apart of the unit and worth of such a privilege

Background: As soon as he turned 18 Klaus was conscripted and transferred to the 240th Valkarian Drop Regiment , after several brutal campaigns he Ascended to the Rank of Sergeant where he had proven himself enough to where he was selected to go though Heavy infantry selection school . Passing by maxing out every category he was quickly given his own platoon in the 101st Heavy Infantry . Eventually though many hard battles where his entire unit suffered heavy casualties in engagements against Tyranids and Heretics he was transferred to the 82nd Heavy infantry Regiment , This is where he Truly showed his determination and valor . When on a Hive World fighting Orks his Unit was tasked with defending an intersection that was several miles behind the Front lines . In a horrifying turn Ork forces broke though and attacked Klaus's Platoon who had dug in , After Several grueling hours of Fighting ork forces , imperial Reinforcements finally came , however during the fight a Space Marine of the Salamanders Chapter was locked in combat with several Orks , at that moment the Mob's Nob appeared above then din of battle . The Marine became locked in combat and eventually fell with mortal wounds , as the Ork Nob was about to deliver the fatal blow a roar of a Chain-Sword was heard and blood burst from the orks Stomach , behind the Nob stood the Young Lieutenant a bloody chainsword in one hand and a hellgun in the other , while the Nob didn't fall it gave the marine time to recover and slay the beast ,the entire ork horde in that area descended into chaos and were easily dispatched by Imperial forces , it wasn't until later that the Valkarian Soldier was preparing to be redeployed that he was called into his Regimental commander's office .. there stood the Very Marine who he had saved , assisted by the Salamanders Chaplin , blessed Schweitzer stating the Emperor would watch over him and he could never fall in battle so long as he stated righteous . Which immediately after he was granted the rank of Captain and assigned to the Battered Remains of the 82nd


Physical description:
Standing at Six Feet , five Inchs tall and weighing Two-hundred and thirty pounds Klaus is actually fairly muscular while maintaining a very lean yet skinny figure , His Dark Brown hair in stark contrast to his Ice Blue Eyes , Scars Criss-cross his face and body but the even more disturbing part is he suffers from Hyperthymesia , or a mental condition where you remember every aspect of your life in near perfect detail ...

well,valhallans would probably scoff and laugh at the night time temperatures as being 'like summer'. it'll be cold cerrtainly, and getting colder over the night, but not to the point of being impossible to work in.
and you're probably going to have to move above ground, since the mines aren't old enough to link up underground yet

as to why I would like people to repost their apps; there might be some changes due to what happened on Pan Arcadi. So that way I can get that straight more easily.

Xie; since you had them on Pan Arcadia you can keep those; but keep in mind there will be heavy turbulence from the warm rocks and cooling air; and you will need to cart the vendettas into the mining complexes during the day.

Seeing as the bulk of the combat is going to be taking place in the mining tunnels or hab-domes, I seriously doubt the Vendettas are going to do anything more than ferry troops around quickly, heh. But, yeah, I'll keep those in mind.

well, in the night surface battles are possible. which is partly why no progress has been made so far. neither side has been able to make enough advances to be able to reach the other's mining complex and establish a beachhead before needing to return so they reach safety in time.

perhaps my description isn't entire accurate to what I have in mind. It's completely open to discussion, but my intent was for the surface battles to be pitched; with both sides trying desperately to push the other side back to their complex so they can establish a presence inside it before dawn strong enough to hold out until night allows reinforcements to come and the assault to switch to within the complex.

Support (Weapons, vehicles, etc): The 3rd Calaverian QRF posseses 3 Trojans, 20 Tauros rapid assault vehicles and 5 Specter's ( stealth-variant of the valkeryies that utilize auspex-delaying materials and faster afterburners allowing for quick strikes or sudden insertion of combat teams)
Uniforms: all-black standard cadian style armor with camo cloaks and balcalvas or helmets with HUD's, carapace armor standard.
Miscellaneous info: The 3rd Calaverian QRF utilizes supressed autoguns, rapid fire small arms and other CQB weapons as well as supressed sniper rifles. All QRF forces utilize helmets with night-vision/thermal capabilities as well as carapace armor. As their forces are low in number they are primarily a defensive force that may go on the offensive on occasion, or when used in special operations.

Just a note Cal, there's no references in fluff of camaline fabric working on anything larger then a Space Marine. (Vehicle camo netting is done with traditional camoflage) Even if it did somehow work, your essentialy talking about reviting on huge (very expensive) tarps around your entire aircraft, which would create a crazy amount of drag and force them to move slowly to avoid ripping/loosing them.

Also, why use auto-guns instead of lascarbines? I mean other then style/"it's what our world has" which is a perfectly valid reason. It just an interesting juxtiposition to what is otherwise "all the toys" technology.

Also, will toss my new regiment up in a bit.

Number of Guardsmen: 450 infantry + Chimera transports and support.
Support (Weapons, vehicles, etc): Standard infantry are armed with a Accatran Pattern Mark IV Lasgun. Half of the squads are armed with meltaguns and the other half are armed with flamers, one per 5 people. The 117th have managed to retain 2 groups of 3 Sentinals. 2 armed with Heavy Flammers, and the rest with Autocannons. There are a total of 50 Chimeras, 10 Autocannon armed ones, and 40 Multi-laser ones. The Autocannon Chimeras have half the transport capacity moved over for extra ammunition for the main gun as well as munitions for the infantry. The squads in these chimeras are armed with more specialist equipment that depends on the needs of the deployment. In this case a 50-50 mix of shotguns and more flamers.

Miscellaneous info: Due to the large weather variations on there home planet the Cyclopean's are adept at acclimating to a wide range of climates and worlds.

Background: So, apparently HQ now want's us to make a little voice log of our background. Something about statistics or some crap. I could care less. Anyway, I came from Cyclopean Prime nice little hive-world planet well as nice as those can get anyway. I could be considered rather well off in my hive as I did come from one of the minor noble families. Hell that's why I'm here right now. My father thought it would be a great idea to send me off to the army to win glory and fame for the family. We all know how glorious war is. So, my childhood was spent on classes and practice sessions preparing for exactly that. So, my eighteenth birthday rolls around, and I get sent off with an officers commission that my family had "acquired". The men under my command obviously didn't like this so there was some tension those first few weeks. I'm glad to say though that got sorted out rather quickly. So, move forward a few deployments and I get moved up to Lieutenant by some kind of weird twist of fate as all the competitors for the potions meet premature deaths. And I'll say this now just like I tell everyone else that asks. I had nothing to do with it. With that bit taken care of on to more recent times. So, last deployment lets see things started going wrong since nearly the beginning. We were assigned to the wrong transport and got sent to the ass end of nowhere. Then to make matters worse they shoved us up into trenches with front-line infantry. Then things just degenerated from there supplies went missing, orders came in wrong, the rotation scheduled got screwed, and general everything else. So this goes on for a year and then suddenly the order to pullout was given all across the front. Apparently, the powers that be decided that they had enough fun watching us slowly get thrown into the meatgrind and now they just wanted to see things go boom. So, that why I'm now in charge of this motley lot. The captain decided to have some heroic last stand and tasked me with getting as many men to the EZ as possible, so that's exactly what I did. So am I done here? Can I get back to work now? Yes? Ok thanks.

Edited my app now it's more like a modern stealth jet I guess also I used autogu a because calaveras is a imperial world in the mt/pmt age so they are just used to using auto guns also projectile weapons won't gove away there position as easily as las weapons

Edited my app now it's more like a modern stealth jet I guess also I used autogu a because calaveras is a imperial world in the mt/pmt age so they are just used to using auto guns also projectile weapons won't gove away there position as easily as las weapons

hrmm.. I'm not sure this concept of 'stealth' valyries is even possible within orthodox mechanicus. don't think I've read of any expamples of auspex-absorbing materials being used at all. or that they'll work well on auspex. maybe some materials that blurr the response a little?
I do agree on the silencers. the 'silencers' for las guns are really difficult to make and maintain.

Gender: Female
Rank: Captain
Background: Born on the third moon of Segmentia (Which is infested with Orks and in a constant back and forth war with the Segmentian PDF and IG forces), Karenth was the third child to a back-woods farming family that often played host to Imperial forces. Bunkers, barbed wire, towers, and infantry were a constant presence in her life. Farming work was a tough life, especially with the risk of Orks stumbling upon the farm. She had witnessed a dozen skirmishes by the time she was ten and was quite fascinated with it all. Like all Segmentian’s she joined the PDF when she was 16 (a bit younger than most) and excelled in training, catching the attention of her superiors and instructors. After two years in the PDF she was selected for officers training. She found a few struggles during training, mostly from fellow trainees, most being from rich, privileged families. None the less she put them all to shame, and upon graduation was sent to the Imperial Guard as a lieutenant. She has since served the Imperium through various campaigns and battles, the last of which wiped out most of the former regiment, leavin her the highest ranking officer left.

Edited my app now it's more like a modern stealth jet I guess also I used autogu a because calaveras is a imperial world in the mt/pmt age so they are just used to using auto guns also projectile weapons won't gove away there position as easily as las weapons

hrmm.. I'm not sure this concept of 'stealth' valyries is even possible within orthodox mechanicus. don't think I've read of any expamples of auspex-absorbing materials being used at all. or that they'll work well on auspex. maybe some materials that blurr the response a little?
I do agree on the silencers. the 'silencers' for las guns are really difficult to make and maintain.

Uniforms: Flak armor is black. Fatigues are navy blue. All imperial eagles are gold; the same goes for braid and sword accessories. Rebreathers with optional low-light visors feature red-tinted, non-fogging lenses. Accouterments are all black.

Miscellaneous info: The regiment is specialized in hive combat, which is why it uses urban-ish combat colors. In particular, this company is an mobile company, of sorts, usually held in reserve to deal with holdouts, breakthroughs, or provide close-in anti-armor/heavy-infantry support. It is ill-equipped to deal with fortified positions. As per urban combat, the troops are equipped with Xie-copied Armageddon-patterned las-carbines and modified lasguns.

Background: Xie Guiren comes from yet another privileged family. He was enrolled in the prestigious Twelve Generals' Military Academy, though graduated with sub-average scores. Despite his poor academic performance, because of his connections, both familial and scholastic, he was placed in the reformed 3rd Xie, 2nd Mixed Company. Originally, the 2nd Company was a Mixed Company which was primarily formed of Armored Fist squads, but had been reformed to deal with the more potent threats that had become prevalent in the last couple hundred years.

Prior to deployment at Pan Arcadia, he last saw action on a little-known agri-world, eleven years ago. Because of his company's ability to rapidly redeploy, the 2nd Mixed Company had been completely detached from its regiment to supplement the world's PDF against a known Dark Eldar raiding force. In a bid to end the raiding threat, the 2nd was hurled at a recently discovered webway gate, hopefully the only one on the planet, to try and close or destroy it, while PDF kept the Dark Eldar occupied elsewhere.

The gambit almost failed, as the Dark Eldar seemed to figure out that something was amiss and returned to the gate just as the 2nd arrived, forcing the 2nd into a pitched battle with the entirety of the Dark Eldar raiding force. The mobile elements of the 2nd broke through and destroyed the gate, but not before the static elements were wiped out, nearly to a man, by the vengeful Archon and his retinue. Guiren's superior officer was amongst those butchered by the Archon; man had challenged the Archon to a one-on-one duel in an effort to stall for time and allow the autocannon teams to escape the slaughter. The Archon then tore apart the remaining bodyguards before being incinerated by the Vendettas, who had returned to help.

Leading the mobile elements, Guiren personally shot, then cut down, several Dark Eldar to clear the way for the gate to be demolished by an attached PDF demolitions team. In this manner, he won the respect of the surviving company troops, who then supported his battlefield promotion.

To replace losses sustained against the Dark Eldar, PDF troops were reassigned to the 2nd. The 2nd was expected to fine-tune the recruits' training on another sleepy world with ample urban environments, Pan Arcadia. However, warp troubles led to the ship arriving 9 years later than expected; during the 11 years, the recruits, with nothing else to do, had been reconditioned to the different fighting style of the 2nd and had their equipment modified to reflect the change. So, after 11 years (on paper) of hard work, the company expected a welcome break before their next real deployment in Pan Arcadia. That was not the case, as the 2nd found itself embroiled in a rebellion. The timely intervention and evacuation meant that the 2nd managed to avoid taking any casualties. The downtime allowed the 2nd to further train its newest recruits and re-evaluate its own tactics, following brief enemy contact; of course, Guiren has determined that the 2nd's current training should be sufficient, given that nothing has gone wrong, thus far.
Physical description: An unimposing figure, Guiren stands at 173 cm. He is pale, courtesy of 11 years aboard a transport vessel, with Chinese facial features; despite being on Pan Arcadia, his time spent in winter meant that he remained more or less unexposed to the sun. Black hair, brown eyes.

Background: After the events chronicled in "Chosen" (see link below), Tavio was gathered up with the rest of the Bridonian troops by supporting elements of the Azurian Guard (planetary defence forces) deployed to the Duskwood region. From the time they were loaded onto the troop transport and flown at high speed across land and sea, the northerners were ministered to by Shepherds of the Church of Terra. This helped to ease the transition into contemporary society and eventual Imperial service through sermons aimed at reinforcing their faith in the Emperor and emphasising their more direct service to the Imperium.

Tavio showed commendable leadership skills during his training and once he had completed Basic Military Training, Basic Guard Training, and Basic Occupational Training, he was granted admission into the Imperial War College, graduating as a Lieutenant. He was assigned to the Persican 498th Black Lance (Mechanised Infantry) which, upon mustering, was immediately deployed to Cadia. Leading the 8th Platoon, 10th Company, Tavio saw a great deal of action at Kasr Sonnen. Attrition was brutal, but Tavio managed to survive and lead his decimated Company after the death of Captain Connemar Ramos. The remainder of the Lance was returned to Persica and Fortress Telamon. Those not permanently disabled or killed by their injuries en route were reassigned to the Persican 501st Black Lance, which had recently been commissioned.

The 501st was assigned to join the fight against the orkish Overfiend of Octarius, spinward of Badab in the Ultima Segmentum. Predictably, attrition wore down the Black Lance and the remnants were headed home to begin the cycle anew. En route, they were diverted to Pan Arcadia, assigned to augment the Segmentian 557th. Tavio Archer has risen to the rank of Captain and leads what is left of the 3rd Company of the Persican 501st Black Lance.

Physical description: Tavio stands 5'10" (178cm) and is quite fit and leanly muscled. His left arm from the elbow and his hand were lost on Cadia and replaced with a bionic limb. He has very close-cropped copper hair and grey eyes.

Background: As any good citizen of Krieg was, Dietrich was born a Death Korpsman, raised a Death Korpsman, and trained in the arts of siege and trench warfare. During live fire training exercises, he showed his prowess for command and was assigned command of a squad in the 293rd Siege Death Korps. During the 293rd's deployment to J897-I, the Regiment made the rebels pay for every inch, but at a horrible cost. The initial regiment was reduced to a mere 500 men. The casualties included most of the command staff, passing down command down, eventually, to Dietrich, who had been promoted to Captain over the course of the campaign.

starting note: this post will be updated as I work back through the various questions and issues arising since my previous post.
second note: keep in mind that while this wll start in a week or so, if I can get an opening post written out by then, but I will give the returning people a bit more time to reaspond. and I don't think I'll start to look at accepting new people untill I know how many companies we already have.

persica, glad you're back. not sure why you weren't in the OP in the last one, perhaps since you came in when leg was already technically too busy to handle things. I've added you to roster now. as to what happened, that's entirely up to you. perhaps you managed to absorb enoug recruits or survivors from the depleted companies (so far that's me and possibly bredtonia) or you've lost some people and equipment during the fighting. I'm not too well up on whatever was planned for that story. but we'd have to fight our way through that city, and probably face increasing opposition before we were sieged in that base.

Unfortunately we already have an application for a death korps of krieg company, and to keep the various conflicts within the lore out of the rp I would be very reluctant to accept a second regiment from a planet we already have.

I would like to see some more background; it can either come forwards in your commander's background or the generic info, but a bit more about the feel of the homeworld and why they ended up assigned to the 557th would be preferred.

North calaveras, I suppose it would be possible; but it'd cost the performance in other areas, capacity, speed, reliability and/or armour.

Creataris, looks good, however you do have a the maxium amount of men and artillery pieces. cut it down to at most 35 pieces and appropriate crew?
