Economic Policy:Tariffs on some imported goods, mainly Mongolian and lowered tariffs on others. Most industries with the exception of the fishing, weaponry and educational industries can be owned by the people who are allowed to gain or lose money on their own decisions. Education is free in Ryukyu, but many schools require the parents or carers to assist towards paying for learning materials. Etc.

Economic Situation: The economy is growing rapidly because of recent contact with the West, with trading links in Europe and hopefully some to occur within Mongolia. Main money makers include tropical fruits, cloth and swords.

Infrastructure: Conditions have improved dramatically since contact with the West during the 1850s and 60s, 80% of roads are paved leading to settlements, with Naha having built its first hospital in 1876. The education system is slowly improving, with around 50 Schools throughout the State and a heavily rising literacy rate. Naha now has adequate facilities to repair merchant vessels and small ships and a harbour. There's telegraph lines in Naha, with one or two others going across Okinawa but none elsewhere.

Most of the citizenry have boring but bearable lives, their homes are basic with most of Naha's made from stone. Outside of Naha most are made of dried mud or hardwood.

History: King Sasu I unified the Ryukyus in the 1769 AD, under his guidance the Ryukyus slowly began to become more open to trade with Western Nations and Asian ones too. This allowed the level of infrastructure across the islands to be rebuilt and upgraded in quality. In 1802 AD, the King died and was replaced by his illegitimate son, Zaki who was unpopular with the people, who overthrew him and settled under the rule of a clan of lords. These lords would later build the 'House of Lords' and were a vital step for the nation.

European contact was made in 1849 AD, when ships from an unspecified European country docked at Naha, they forced the nation to open for trade and in return the country began to Westernise Ryukyu. In 1853 AD, the 'Black Watch' was formed and began to train a cadet movement that would train the future military. This was followed a year later by the Navy. The telegraph was introduced in the 1864 AD and majorly increased the intelligence gathering abilities of the government. A first domestic rifle was produced in the 1867, this was abandoned and several Ryukyuans were sent abroad to train gunsmithing and design - they did so. The same followed with 30 Doctors who would later open a Medical school in 1879 and 15 teachers.

Hard boots stomped on the concrete ground in unison as the formally dressed KPA units marched down the wide street, the crowds next to them were forming the North Korean flag and various communist insignia with pieces of card. Above them was Kim Il Sung, the Great Leader, Generalissimo and anything else you could think of. Next to him were the usual - generals, admirals, high ranking politicians etc, they thought of power and he thought of reform; because a small gap was slowly widening between North and South. Unfortunately these reforms couldn't be too obvious, the Chinese would see to that. Although despite his stormy rhetoric it was dawning on him that economic and social reforms were a needed reality.

First would be the implementation of a system allowing the citizens of Pyongyang to trade goods at stalls for North Korean Won, or U.S dollars if they were the richer political class. This would also be trialled on the North Korean-Chinese border where the citizenry often ended up considerably wealthier than the citizenry of Pyongyang. But before that, the basics would require fertiliser for crops, and there was one place where this could be obtained rather... well with difficulty but a letter or two could sweeten it hopefully.

Government Structure: The North German Constitution of 16 April 1867 created a national parliament with universal suffrage (for men above the age of 25), the Reichstag. Another important organ was the Bundesrat, the 'federal council' of the representatives of the allied governments. To adopt a law, a majority in the Reichstag and in the Bundesrat was necessary. This gave the allied governments, meaning the states and their princes, an important veto.

Executive power was vested in a president, a hereditary office of the House of Hohenzollern, the ruling family of Prussia. He was assisted by a chancellor responsible only to him. There was no formal cabinet; the heads of the departments were not called ministers but secretaries. Those were installed and dismissed by the chancellor.

For all intents and purposes, the confederation was dominated by Prussia. It had four-fifths of the confederation's territory and population — more than the other 21 members combined. It remains undisputed hegemon of the German states. Currently it looks west in its diplomatic efforts.
Military Information: Prussia is an army with a state, and thus Prussia, and North Germany at large, cannot function without the backing of the Heer. The North German Army inherited much of the traditions and concepts of the Prussian Army, which was its largest component army. According to article 61 of the constitution, the Prussian military code was to be introduced throughout the North German Reich. The conservative leaders of the army took an ever increasing role in both domestic and foreign policies. As of 1881, most Prussian officers could be divided into two groups: those who argued for boldness and self-sacrifice, and those who advocated technology and maneuver in order to minimize casualties. First encountered during the Franco-Prussian War, new technological military innovations such as the machine gun increased the power of defensive units. For the Prussians, who advocated offensive operations, infantry attacks would risk becoming sacrificial assaults.

Economic Situation:Prussia lives in an economy of rye and iron, torn between the heavy industrialised West and the Junker-held agrarian East. The economy continues to industrialize and urbanize, with heavy industry – especially coal and steel – becoming important in the Ruhr, and manufacturing growing in the cities, the Ruhr, and Silesia. Industrialisation progressed dynamically in North Germany and German manufacturers began to capture domestic markets from British imports. Farmers too quickly abandoned traditional, inefficient practices in favor of modern methods, including use of new fertilizers and new tools.

In machinery, iron and steel, and other industries, North German firms avoided cut-throat competition and instead relied on trade associations. Germany was a world leader because of its prevailing "corporatist mentality", its strong bureaucratic tradition, and the encouragement of the government. These associations regulate competition and allowed small firms to function in the shadow of much larger companies. The German cartel system (known as Konzerne), being significantly concentrated, was able to make more efficient use of capital. North Germany was not weighted down with an expensive worldwide empire that needed defense.

1. Kalmar Union
OTL, but Swedish Nobles are appeased after a Swedish noble family occupies the crown. When their last heir dies without child, a Royal marriage with the Wittelsbach family produces a Wittelsbach at the throne of Sweden. Currently, Gustaf IV Akilles is set to die without a male heir, and his old age might make that a soon-to-be event.

2. Napoleonic Wars
Kalmar Scandinavia aligned itself with the Coalition during the Napoleonic wars. Scandinavia was one of the more involved countries in attempting to take Napoleon down. In the War of the xth Coalition, Napoleon crossed the Rhine and invaded Scandinavian holdings in Continental Europe before the powerful French army smashed its way into Scandinavia and forced the Kalmar Union to accept the Peace of Uppsala just days after the French army occupied Stockholm. Under the terms of the Treaty of Uppsala, Scandinavia was forced to relinquish Finland as a realm and grant it complete autonomy, although the reasons for such an interest remain unknown. Furthermore, Kalmar Scandinavia was forced to sign an alliance with France and join the Continental Blockade against Britain.

After the disastrous pseudo-invasion of Russia, Kalmar Scandinavia obtained independence from both the continental blockade and the alliance with France, although it was unable to retake Finland. Kalmar armies marched South with the rest of the ‘Last Coalition’ and ceremoniously defeated Napoleon and Waterloo, thus ending the Napoleonic Wars. In the subsequent Treaty of Vienna, Kalmar Scandinavia did not receive substantial gains in Europe, but received several formerly French colonies, such as x and y.

3. 19th Century
Following the Napoleonic Wars, Scandinavia remained largely neutral of European affairs, except that it rapidly began securing colonies wherever these may be placed. Scandinavia also made unsuccessful attempts to restore Finland as a realm of the Union. Several diplomatic overtures were rejected. Military invasion was considered but then abandoned, despite the overwhelming superiority of the Kalmar Navy when related to the Finnish. Other than exerting diplomatic pressure on Finland to return to the Union, the aging Gustaf Akilles has made no attempt to restore Finland as a realm.

The 1873 economic hardship hit Scandinavia severely. The path to recovery has been slow, but the government has begun measures to introduce traditional economic prosperity into Scandinavia once more.

The British actually sided with Napoleon and were defeated by the coalition of I am assuming Portugay, the Dual Kingdom, the UK, Russia, and the HRE. Otherwise I'm not sure how Napoloen lost (by that I mean based off of Coalition members) bc he's hella strong and without all of them he could easily win

-Commonwealth signs a pact/semi-treaty with the Coalition, exits war
