Haha, sounds interesting. It'll be the nicest rivalry in history :)

Might as well have our guys meet each other on vacation in Canada.

Then they have a stare down to see who stops being polite about it first. Then it goes on for days.

God, I'm already plotting evil IC plans. :p

Cool! I'm hoping to do medical mission work after Medical school (if I manage to get into and through Medical school), and they're one of the organizations I was looking into. How do you like working for them?

It's not bad. Since it's an NGO, it's more like "volunteer" rather than "work".

Of course, it also feels strange when people ask me "What do you do?" and I tell them "I'm a musician and a paramedic".

Then they both end up being sent to the Hospital due to Dehydration from staring at each other for so long. Then they realize what they were doing and apologize at the same time, starting a new politeness contest...

We only want to go to Canada because only Canada has a stereotype of ultra-polite people, and both our Chars are ultra-polite, though they aren't Canadian.

APP:
Name: Jon Ambrose
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Appearance: Thin and wiry, he's tall with the build of a runner, but he's always had a face that looked half his age, his hair is blonde but kept buzzed. His eyes are green and his features are soft.
Personality: Jon is stubborn to the core, not mean or cruel, but extremely stubborn. He tries his best to be polite but usually his own convictions overwhelm his regard for other people. However, if he agrees with you then he's a funny and caring person.
Bio: Jon was born on a massive station orbiting Mars, since day one of his life he had grown accustomed to the rigors and luxuries of life in space. His family was the very definition of middle class, in fact, the only way he made it into the Academy was on merit. He had earned this merit from his extreme reluctance to accept defeat, often times arguing with instructors on the validity of demerits or bad grades, sometimes he even won these arguments. He was popular among his peers, but he never much cared for their opinions. At the beginning of his adolescence he set his sights on the Military life. Soon he found himself among the legions of other human conscripts, seeking glory in combat.

Atlantis City

The Leer-Jet came to a graceful halt on the tarmac of Atlantis International, its pure white and blue coloring sharply contrasted with the deep black of the runway. After touching down it taxied its way to a waiting half-circle of vehicles, 3 in total, two SUV’s, heavy and black. One Rolls-Royce, it was pure white, nearly alabaster, with two Arkadian flags flapping in the wind protruding from its back.

The aircraft came to a stop and the whir of the planes engines went silent. Down came the stairs, and soon came the very precious cargo. A man with short parted blonde hair came down first, he wore a buttoned up Great Coat with a dozen medals and pins over his heart, the coat itself was white with blue accents. A second man, this one older, slower and with only a few wisps of white hair, followed after him. He wore a similar Great coat, but he also wore a large, Eagle-crest medal about his neck, the golden feathers flashing in the midday sun. His steps were sharp and calculated, his thick mustache twitched with his upper lip as the smell of hot asphalt reached his nose.

The younger man was Propotan Johnathon Xelick, the older was Potentate Alderous, High-Monarch of Arkadum and leader of the Church. They reached the ground and immediately a stout man, his gut being silhouetted by his tightly buttoned shirt met them, his suit and tie were being tossed around by the wind, but he acted as dignified as he could.

Nervousness permeated his voice at first “P-Potentate, it is truly an honor that you should choose me to be you guide through Diadochia.” The man reached out a hand to the Potentate, who acknowledged the offer but shook his head, the younger man, John, took the ambassadors hand in his fathers place and shook it firmly.

He smiled at the man “We have heard great things about your service here, hopefully we can represent Arkadum and the Iłnas as well as you Ambassador Eckart”

He led them to the Rolls-Royce, where a stone-faced man was waiting for them, his head was as bald as a turtles and his expressions looked like they could pop a balloon. He gestured towards the back seats, and Alderous took his seat, followed by John. The motorcade pulled away from the plane and set off into the city.

John spoke first “So these Diadochians, they’re quite like us if your telling’s are true Ambassador?”

The ambassador nodded “Yes, yes, very faithful, unfortunately their faith is misplaced, but nonetheless they revere their faith as we revere ours, I expect your interactions to be quite pleasant”

Alderous cut him off “Where is it that we’re staying?”

“The Hotel Alatza Sir”
If you're a Heretic or Apostate, may you be torn asunder.

All Blessings to the Iłnas.

APP:

Name: Ereshkigal
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Appearance: Ereshkigal is a young woman of average height, but lean and muscular, with smooth, bronze colored skin. She has reddish black hair falling in curls down to her shoulders, slightly longer on the right side than on the left, and bright, piercing amber eyes, with a small, slightly crooked nose but otherwise soft facial features. Her hands are always covered in bandages. She has a large tattoo of a blood-stained black butterfly on her back.
Personality: Ereshkigal, like the rest of her people, is a quiet young woman. She is humble, though aware enough of her abilities to seek to assume what tasks she believes fit her best. Completely loyal to the Aheani, as the rest of her people, she is recklessly selfless, willing to throw herself in front of danger if so ordered or required, not only to appease the Aheani, but to protect her fellow humans as well. In that regard, one could say that her sense of altruism goes beyond the dictated by her people's idolatry of the Aheani. Honest in the battlefield, like the other Einherjar. She is known to be a bit more emotional than her peers, but every bit as incompetent in displaying such emotions, causing her to behave erratically sometimes. Unyielding, she is willing to dedicate herself to a task for as long as required. Unafraid of death, her greatest fear is instead drawing the disappointment and ire of the masters of her people. She is unaccustomed to physical contact.
Bio: Children born of the willing union of two Einherjar are a strange thing to see, as these proud warriors live by the sword and die in their youths, only maintaining the size of the core thanks to the reproduction program enforced by their Aheani overlords. And yet, despite all of this, Ereshkigal was just that: Born from the unlikely love of two Einherjar who had managed to stay alive, she was, perhaps, the closest an Einherjar could get to being 'normal' by the standards of the rest of humanity.
Of course, this does not mean that she was exempt from the culture of the Einherjar in any way. She was trained to be a warrior since young, as all of her people are. She was taught that there was no honor greater than to fight and bleed and burn for the glory of the Aheani, and that her life was meant to be spent in the pursuit of their glory. Her indoctrination was swift and severe, as with the rest of the children of the Einherjar. And yet, despite that, her parents, Anu and Embla, gave her a very strange thing for any Einherjar child to have: love. Clumsy as they were in expressing their own emotions, even after having managed to form a family, Anu and Embla made Ereshkigal feel appreciated, important. This had some peculiar effects on the young girl's psyche. On one hand, it caused her emotional side to be stronger, but it taught her very little about how to control such things. Coupled with the indoctrination, it also caused her loyalty to the Aheani to be even greater, as she associated this love, this feeling of importance, to her foretold sacred duty of serving the Aheani in their battles. Aside from that, it made her values towards her fellow humans be stronger, causing her to feel a duty towards them as well, though not as strong as the duty she had towards her masters.
As she grew, she became more and more skilled at combat, her ability to withstand pain something unprecedented even among the self-sacrificial, masochistic Einherjar people. For this, and her unusually graceful looks, they associated her with the obsidian butterfly, a creature rumored to have been associated with beauty and sacrifice in the old times of the humans as they were before the Aheani, of which the Einherjar knew very little. This figure was etched into her back with ink and with blood, marking her as the blood-stained obsidian butterfly among her people. Now with a symbol all of her own, she began gaining notoriety as her fighting abilities grew, first gaining renown in the inner fighting circles of the Einherjar society, and eventually becoming known to even outsiders. Noticed by the Aheani at last, she was judged worthy to attend to the War Academy in the Gold class. Ereshkigal, ever so humble, never understood why she was picked for such a thing over her peers, but she never questioned it, for such was the will of her masters. And so she went, to the War Academy, to become the perfect sacrificial lamb for the Aheani.
For an Einherjar, there is no greater honor.

Core Name and Number: Core 289 - Einherjar
Brief Core Description: One of the last cores to be formed, the Einherjar is largely made up of the descendence of the various outcasts of the world, unfit for other cores and thus rounded up and herded together to be used as shock troopers for the Aheani. The Einherjar were swiftly indoctrinated, becoming a force loyal to their Aheani saviors and perfectly willing to fight for them, and in fact, fighting for them was what they excelled at. Born to fight, the Einherjar, a melting pot which has evolved into its own culture, are a fierce, proud people, who move on through the hardships of life and believe their service to the Aheani to be their glory and greatest duty. Selfless in their service and silent in their pain, the people of this core are not very communicative, often having trouble to express their emotions in a way not involving sacrifice, and many tend to shy away from foreigners, though they are not rude towards them, necessarily. They interact the most through combat, and in fact, it is said that combat is the way Einherjar grow closer to others and to each other. Their capacity to understand each other during battle is such that many Einherjar are able to, with just one prior battle worth of combat experience, fight as a single entity on the battlefield. Such does not often happen with those of other cores. Such does not tend to happen when outsiders enter the equation, and this is because of the Einherjar fighting style: They hold nothing back, simply because they do not see any worth in doing so. In the battlefield, the Einherjar are honest, all their cards are placed upon the table at the beginning of the fight, and it is this that allows them to synchronise so well with their own, but not so much with foreigners. Nevertheless, the battle intuition of an Einherjar is still something to be reckoned with. They view the other cores with little interest, though not with apathy or contempt, but they do view their rivalries with disdain, believing that, if all of them are in the service of the Aheani, there should be no reason to compete. In fact, this lack of desire to compete, along with their idolatry of the Aheani and their peculiar cultural development are what give the Einherjar their characteristic values: Selflessness, patience, loyalty, humility and perseverance. They adopted the mythology and symbology of the ancient peoples of Earth and incorporated them into their cultures in a seemingly asystematic manner.

Name: Obsidian Butterfly
Appearance: The Obsidian Butterfly is an armor suit that adapts well to Ereshkigal's figure. It is almost entirely covered in black, yet somehow its surface reflects light. On the chest, it has the symbol adopted by the Einherjar core to represent them as a whole: A simple bloodstained gladius within a red circle. The helmet would be best described as a metallic fascimile of the skull of some beast, though in the place where the eye sockets would be, there is a red visor to allow Ereshkigal to see through. The gauntlets function normally, but ornamental claws are present above them, and the foot pieces are stylized in the shape of eagle talons, though in such way as to not hinder movement in any way. On the back are the armor's hover wings, in the form of large, colorful butterfly wings, with black blades attached to them. It also has a long scorpion-like tail, black like the rest of the armor, which functions as the venom injector.
Physical Modules:
  • Endurance
  • Increased Suit Durability
  • Suit Nanite Regeneration
Offense Modules:
  • Energy Construct Creation
  • Venom Injector
Transport Modules:
  • Blink Teleportation
  • Hover Wings
Unique Module:
  • Repulsion Field: The armor quickly generates a transluscent dome of light around itself. Anything whatsoever that impacts said dome will be instantly rejected, being sent back in the direction it came from with considerable force. The field is able to withstand an enormous ammount of damage, and lasts for considerable time, but Ereshkigal can not move or attack while the field is active, and the field will only deactivate when all of the module's energy is drained, effectively making it a once-per-battle ability. Anything caught inside the Repulsion Field will be safe as long as the field is active, and the field works only one way, so it is possible to fire at the enemy from within.

VERY Impressive. And I like the idea of an outcast Core.
