Ever since he was a young boy, Matieu had been sickened with the world as it stood. Born into a wealthy French family. Matieu had anything and everything he so much as thought of having. For some reason, he did not value the same things he or his siblings had valued, that being, money, Matieu would always give away his allowance to the less fortunate on the streets of Paris while his brothers had only squandered their wealth irresponsibly purchasing things that only had pleased them for a time before getting bored of it and forgetting about said purchase entirely. As a result of his charitable nature, Matieu was often picked on by his brothers. In his private school, Matieu proved to be quite charming, using his sense of humor to give himself social opportunities many would dream of. Though, he never took many of them, primarily due to the fact he had missed several subtle social cues that came his way. He preferred to be alone, anyway.

It came to no surprise to Matieu when his brothers had irresponsibly killed each other in a bizarre drunken driving incident however, it did shock him to realize that he was now the soul heir of his parent's vast fortunes. Of course, by this time he had already gotten out of college for computer programming, software development, and graphic design with the intent to make video games. However, he had also finally started to fight for a cause he believed in, he dawned the Guy Fawkes mask and joined Anonymous. Already having been involved in several high-profile hacking jobs.

When Matieu's father was on his death bed in 2007 due to traces of some toxin inside his body, he had learned of his shady dealings with the Freemasons. Going as far as to tell the boy the acts he had done over the years. His father also gave away information about where he could join and how. Upon learning of all this secretive and sensitive information and all the atrocities, the wars, started for these secret societies Matieu became bent on destroying them all and restoring the world's control back to the people who inhabit it and not some shady underground organization.

Unfortunately, the only way to achieve such a task would be to infiltrate them all, taking them out from the inside out. Slowly, under different screenames and rarely dealing with people face-to-face, Matieu earned their trust and a low-level position in the Illuminati and Freemasons. Constantly blaming actions on the other societies that he caused, bent on triggering a secret war that would wipe them all out. Though, he has stumbled upon the other inception societies at least once or twice on one of his hacking expeditions through a member's personal computer. But he has no intention of telling anyone about his findings in the Illuminati or otherwise.

He was born in a hospital in Manila, where he was named Benito Santiago by his father, his mother died giving birth to Marcus. He lived in the Squatters area, where he collected trash, stole food or anything valuable to survive. He didn't have proper education besides his father's teaching, which was composed of survival, trust, and other things that made Diego rather cynical (Machiavellian as Diego puts it). His father taught him how the world looks after the strong and not the weak, how everyone will betray him eventually and how leaders will always be corrupt or weak in their own right. Because of this, he barely had any friends, only 'befriending' the ones that he could manipulate or use. He developed Clairvoyance when he was young, and so he used this to his advantage, blackmailing or fooling anyone he can and would use.

During his teens, he would become a rather manipulative person, always trying to control people through force or blackmail. His father died when he was 16, after selling some junk, he was robbed and shot by muggers. This experience opened the eyes of Diego, he saw the world as corrupt and greedy, and he would do anything to stop it, even if he wasn't the one who was going to do it. He used his ability to the limits, manipulating, controlling or blackmailing people to do his bidding, eventually he started his own small 'company' of sorts. At 19, he was contacted by the Illuminati, sending a gift and letter about their knowing of his powers, history and hardships. He was given 2 days to decide, to go to Manila bay and join the Illuminati or stay behind and continue to work with his gang. He eventually decided to join the Illuminati, wanting to end the hardships of his people but also wanting power, maybe even to control an entire nation if he needed/desired.

He didn't have major Involvement with the Organization until finding the Killer of Kennedy, instigating the Iranian Revolution and then going to India to preserve their presence and power their under orders of the Illuminati. He's now in the Philippines, waiting for an assignment to be given to him by the Arm.
