OFF THE COASTS OF SVALBARD

The brigs ISS Angrboða, together with the ANS Jubel, were sailing together off the coasts of Svalbard. Captain Günther Bochwitz, commander of the Jubel, had met up with the Icelandic ship off the coast of Svalbard. Both were travelling to Trondheim to drop off food supplies for the Arendelle soldiers stationed there. The aged Captain sat alone in his cabin, musing about the huge war that was soon to engulf the entire continent and possibly the world. His sovereign's ice powers were, in his own opinion, hardly enough to stop the wicked Prince Malefor from destroying civilisation. Darkness enveloped Europe like water and a sinking ship.

The fog had grown thick, and all around was nothing but eerie greyness. Signalling to her Icelandic counterpart, the Scandinavian ship changed its course accordingly to avoid any trouble. It was just then that the Icelandic ship was hit by cannon fire. The sailors on the Jubel dashed about in utter chaos, attempting to come to their senses. Captain Bochwitz screamed commands, ordering the guns to be run out.

How could the ship have been hit? There wasn't even any sound of cannon fire!

The two ships split up and sailed parallel to each other. Before long, a strange ghostly figure came in between them like a spectre haunting a graveyard's tombstones. Soon, this incorporeal entity materialised, forming a pitch-black man-of-war, firing its silent cannons at the two ships. The Captain took a double barrelled rifle and fired one bullet at the ghost ship, only to be hit by a cannon, ripping his arm off. Remaining silent despite the fiery agony, Bochwitz stood up again, using his remaining arm to slam the rifle's butt into the ground and punching it halfway through, creating an explosive obelisk on the deck. Stepping down on the trigger, the Captain fired into his own chin, sending himself to the Next Realm, and putting all hope of survival out of reach of the leaderless men.

On the Angrboða, the men managed to run out the 22 guns much faster than the Arendelle ship could run out her 25. Firing at the ghost ship, they realised that nothing worked against this ship. None of their shot appeared to damage it. On the other hand, one single fiery cannonball from the ghost tore the Angrboða in half, rendering it utterly useless and crushing all hope of survival for the men.

The situation on board the Jubel was no different. As they dashed around Captain Bochwitz's bloodied corpse helplessly, spectral figures boarded both ships, cutting down the men with swords that burned with a dark fire. Before long, the ghost ship dematerialised again, dragging the two warships to the depths of the Abyss, never to emerge again.

"Okay, let's react calmly. If the Forces from Dante's Freezer never arrive, they won't attack, and we can make the first move, so I think we should all target Dante's Freezer." Christopher said.
"Any other ideas?"

King Christoph walked in hurriedly, sweating and shivering at the same time. His Secretary slowly walked at his side while the Dragon Tamer guided the Gargantuan Critellargon into a small corner. He immediately recognised Queen Elsa. "It's an honour to meet you. I'm King Christoph Felix V, the King of the Germanic Empire of Greater Critellargon." In his mind, he had no idea how Queen Elsa could live for 150 years, but he blocked it out. He also saw King Jorgen III, and extended his hand. "I've seen you before in Critell, as you accompanied your grandfather. Well, it's good to be meeting in honour of the great alliance our forefathers forged." His secretary slowly carried a few huge piles of notes and maps, and placed it on the table. King Christoph looked around. "I have a few strategies, shall we begin?"

All three of the others shook hands and sat down at the table. The butler poured another glass of glögg for Christoph, and soon, a full strategising session was in effect. None of them were aware of the destruction of the Angrboða and the Jubel yet, nor were they aware of the Flying Dutchman's presence in the waters of the Atlantic. Hours went by, and eventually, a plan was written up. Jorgen III stood up, stretched his cramped legs, and said to the others, "It's evening already. I say we head down for dinner, then we get some rest."

The Kaiser was still in Arendelle. He was staying in a hotel room. He wanted to speak to Elsa badly. He needed to resolve the situation. Meanwhile, Reverend Johannes Gerstenberg arrived in Arendelle. He found the Kaiser and they met in the hotel. They would go meet Elsa together.

Elsa informed the others that she needed to head back to Oslo as quickly as possible, as the Kaiser was dying to speak to her. Jorgen obliged, and sent a dragon rider to accompany her back to Oslo on the back of a Monstrous Nightmare.

Meanwhile, the rest of them sat down at the castle's dining table and ate their dinner of grilled cod with lemons, discussing the war strategies together.

The Kaiser waited for Elsa to arrive. He spotted her landing on a dragon and went to greet her with Reverend Gerstenberg. He embraced her and they went to go talk. The Kaiser asked about her practice of magic. He wanted an explanation.

OOC: I'm just going to copy & paste the story.

"It was the year 1807. My father, Röméndácil VI, had recently married Duchess Gerda van Klavar, a Dutch noblewoman, who was subsequently crowned the Queen of Arendelle following her marriage to my father. That was just shortly before the annexation of Holland by the DRE, which had been shown to be working under orders of the then Kaiser of Weselton, Wilhelm II's father. They had bribed the DRE to annex my mother's homeland on their behalf."

"Just shortly afterwards, my father received a vision, telling him that the future would not belong to either Weselton or the DRE, and that both of those superpowers would eventually decline at the hands of his very own offspring.Every night in the year of 1808, my father had the same dream over and over again."

"He soon decided that it was time to fulfil this vision that he received from Heaven. Just a year later, in 1809, I was born. Indeed, I had what the fundamentalists from Weselton would call "sorcery". What I did not tell them was that this "sorcery", according to my father, was bestowed upon me not by my doing, or his doing, but by a higher power; by God himself. According to my father, I was to be the instrument of Malefor's defeat. And perhaps, if you do not believe me, I shall take you to someone you might like to meet."

An elderly man in a clerical collar stood behind Elsa. He walked up to them and introduced himself as Bishop Ruggero Vincenzo, the Bishop of Arendelle's Methodist Church. Speaking in a high pitched voice with a thick Italian accent, Bishop Vincenzo said to the Kaiser, "I can testify that everything she has said is true, Your Highness. For I too, received these visions, and I was told that I would not die until Malefor sees his end. I am 117 years old."

The Kaiser and the minister clapped at the end. They agreed that Elsa was not an evil witch, but a good Christian. The Kaiser said he would help Elsa defeat Malefor. He also apologized for the Duke of Weselton's misconceptions about her. The Kaiser would have troops defending Arendelle if Malefor ever attacked again.

Queen Elsa said, "Don't worry about him. In the meantime, let's go inside and have dinner. It's getting rather late, and don't think you can plan well on an empty stomach. Furthermore, we must prevent the loss of more lives, and I say, even if it is at the expense of our national interests."

"Quite the beautiful story" a projection of Malefor said as it appeared. "Sadly, I cannot let you get in my way. Warfang and Arendelle were the greatest threats to my power, and Warfang... Is GONE! You are all that remains. And I don't care how much "Warfang loves its older sister Arendelle", Christopher can't help you. The second he leaves Iceland he is a dead man." The projection disappeared.

After this, Christopher wrote a letter to Elsa, it was sloppily written so he probably wrote it with a great sense of urgency.
To Queen Elsa
I write to you from Iceland, I will buy Arendelle time, but Malefor's army IS approaching

REYKJAVÍK

In the meantime, Jorgen III had returned to the capital. As a result of the war, the economies of Europe had been depressed, and the nations financially drained. Throughout the capital, Jorgen had set up soup kitchens in old buildings and coffee stands along the streets, where long caterpillars of men in coats lined up to get free food, courtesy of the government. Policemen on Nadders patrolled the streets, maintaining order.

The King, when not strategising, would personally come down with Engartennur and speak with the citizens in the streets, asking them about their experiences and their opinions on the crisis.

Now, however, he was in his palace's tactical office with the advisors and naval commanders. The ISS Angrboða had gone missing, and so had the Arendelle ship ANS Jubel. Pins stabbed the large world map in various places, marking blockade points and heavy fortification. On top of the disappearance of the Fenrir, the Angrboða and the Jubel, Malefor's navy had suddenly become more active, the red sailed warships attacking Iceland's own. Strangely enough, there was no sign of Cynder, the malefic female dragon that had assaulted Oslo just a week ago. While Iceland's navy was easily able to defend its own borders, concerns were raised over the Flying Dutchman's involvement in the war, and whether it was working alone or with an enemy, they did not know for sure. Different "factions" had formed in Iceland's military advisory, each arguing about the different courses of action that had to be taken. Some campaigned for a direct attack on the DRE's capital in what used to be called Spain. Others, including Advisor Heinz Gnadin, called for the liberation of Holland and France to use as fortifications against Malefor. The King himself was supportive of a diplomatic approach to the war, though many disagreed with him. A fringe group, consisting of 3 naval officers, 4 dragon rider commanders and 2 advisors, even tried to convince the government to merge with their allies to form one large European Empire. "With the economy in tatters and ruins", said the spokesperson of the group, economic advisor Jón Þórsson, "a combined economy with Arendelle, OS, Critellardon and Russia is most favourable."

As a result of the navy's efforts, none of Malefor's troops managed to come even close to Iceland, a 80 KM radius around Reykjavík barricaded by the most elite navy in Europe. "We, however, will definitely not let our guard down", said Jorgen III. "There's no telling what wicked spells Malefor may know." The Guards of the Wilderwest, a specialist group founded by Híksti III (993 - 1074), first king of the New Wilderwest (Iceland, Svalbard, parts of Greenland), had been mobilised completely for the first time since the war with Weselton and its allies 150 years ago. The Guards were founded with the sole purpose of protecting the King of Iceland and the capital, to the death if necessary. With the Dragon Prince of DRE on the loose and in command of over 10 million troops, this was a most appropriate time to have them mobilised.

OFF THE COAST OF GREENLAND

A flotilla of 5 Icelandic ships, the frigates ISS Eyjafjallajökull and ISS Simon Petrus, the brig ISS Dansk, the man-of-war ISS Jorgen II and the brigantine ISS Hveðrungr, was travelling along Greenland's coasts, hunting pirates. Separate from the war entirely was an effort to make Iceland's waters pirate free, started by Jorgen III's great-grandfather, Fagerlúnd IV. The five ships, under the command of Rear-Admiral Herbert Schluckauf, formerly the captain of the Simon Petrus but promoted to command all 5, had ordered his ships to travel north, along Greenland's coast, after stopping at Nuuk to resupply and to clean their hulls. Rear Admiral Schluckauf had been rather successful in his new station thus far, having sunk 17 pirate vessels and captured over 100 pirates. This voyage, however, was to be quite different.

The flotilla travelled along Greenland's coast, sinking pirates as they went along. Somewhere along the mid part of the coast, however, a thick fog enveloped the 5 ships. "Strange", mumbled the Admiral to his lieutenants over dinner in his cabin. "I was told that the fog wasn't this bad around here." Leaving the rest of his salted pork untouched, the Admiral went outside and stood on the poop deck of the Simon Petrus, ordering the sailors to light the lanterns and make sure not to crash into the other 4 ships. Using his telescope, the Admiral looked around the fog, trying to see the coast.

"No bloody use", he swore, handing the telescope back to the lieutenant who accompanied him. "This fog is too thick to see anything at all. It's a miracle we haven't smashed into each other yet." The 5 ships continued to sail through the thick shrouds of amorphous grey fog.

It was just then that a sailor on the Hveðrungr spotted a ship. As soon as the signal reached the Simon Petrus, the Admiral seized the telescope and tried to locate the ship spotted by the sailor. Faint, ghostly, but there, nonetheless. The Admiral shouted to his men, getting them to flash a signal ordering the unknown ship to identify herself. Despite repeated attempts to do so, however, the ship refused to comply, disappearing instead into the fog. "This must be a pirate!" the Admiral declared loudly. "Run out the cannons and prepare to fire. I will be getting them myself." Crossing over to the Jorgen II, Admiral Schluckauf directed the 90 gunner warship towards the location where the ship was last seen. There it was, but wait! Despite being just a couple of metres away from the pirate, it remained as translucent as before. Not for long, however, as it suddenly materialised into a jet black frigate with 50 guns and three masts. "What's this?" the Admiral exclaimed. "This is no ordinary pirate! Open fire immediately!"

On the order, all 5 of the warships fired violently at the ghost ship. Running out her own guns, the ship fired back at the warships. With 5 vessels on his side, however, Admiral Schluckauf was able to overpower it easily, quickly surrounding it and beaching it on a sandbank near Greenland's coast. Marines from all 5 ships boarded the ghost ship, only to be thrown back by a sudden shockwave. Figures in black clothes and capes came out of the cabin, fighting with the Marines. As the Admiral was trained as a Guard of the Wilderwest, he was also highly skilled in hand to hand combat. Grabbing a spear from a weapon rack, he dashed onto the decks and ran it through one of the perpetrators. Drawing two broadswords, he whirled around skilfully, slashing enemies as he went along and leading the Marines on, eventually driving the ghosts off the Jorgen II. The other sailors cheered in victory and charged towards the beached vessel.

This excitement was short lived, however, as the ghost ship executed a strange manoeuvre with her anchor and cannons, pushing the Dansk and capsizing it. The remaining four ships resumed cannon fire, battering the ghost ship even further. Sensing that it could not win, the ship dematerialised again, but not before the Admiral read the name "The Flying Dutchman" on the back. With the ship gone, the sailors began to clean up the decks. They had, thankfully, lost very few men. Most of the invaders were dead, which annoyed the Admiral greatly, as he was hoping for a prisoner to interrogate. Just then, a sailor on the Hveðrungr called the Admiral over. The Admiral went over on a longboat and took a look, gasping in surprise. One of the pirates was still alive, but had lost his legs from the thighs down. Admiral Schluckauf ordered his medics to bandage the pirate after cuffing him. Bending down to look at the man, the Admiral sneered. "Tell us a little about your... employer." He was promptly hit in the face by a black leather gloved fist, sending him sprawling on the deck and clutching his nose. "Chain him up and lock him in the brig! But mind he survives, we need a prisoner to interrogate. And that usually works best when they're still alive!" ordered the Admiral sarcastically as two of the more muscular Marines cuffed the pirate and piggybacked him into a cell in the Hveðrungr. Standing on the deck and wiping the blood from his nose, the Admiral looked out into the distance, into the fog which, oddly, was clearing up very quickly. As the sailors used ropes to flip the Dansk the right way up, he continued to think about his progress that night.

His Majesty will be most intrigued by our new prisoner.

"Men! Set your course for Reykjavík!"

THE DRE'S CAPITAL

At the coastal capital of the DRE, a dark figure of a ship suddenly materialised, chilling all the other DRE sailors to the bone. Docking at the capital, a man in a large black hat stepped onto shore. His black cloak, made of Night Fury hide, covered the left side of his body. The other side of his body had a cruel, muscular arm attached to it, tattooed with Chinese dragons and pentagrams. Every time this dark figure stepped around, an evil aura was emitted, freezing even the most hardcore atheist and skeptic right down the spine.

This dark figure was none other than Drago Bludvist, the captain of the Flying Dutchman. He wasn't completely human, but rather, existed as half human, half spirit. Born in 946 AD, the horrifying spectre travelled around on his ghost ship, killing anybody who dared to stand in his path. Even though his arch-rival, King Híksti III of the Wilderwest, was long dead, having died over 800 years ago, Drago lived on as a spirit, even after his gruesome death at the hands of Leifur Eiríksson's offspring. Few knew of his past, and none dared to divulge it. He had a way of getting to inconvenient people, even when they were far from the ocean.

In this case, however, he was bound in service by a contract he made with Prince Malefor 83 years ago, pledging autonomous service to the Prince of Dragons.

That day, he headed straight for Malefor's dark sanctuary, the capital of the DRE. Walking towards the pitch dark fortress that was Malefor's refuge (and emotionlessly dismembering people who so much as tried to step in his way), Drago Bludvist walked on alone, with a hideous air of corrupted, possessed dignity. Stepping past the dragons guarding the gates of the fortress (who didn't even dare blink in his presence), the ancient warlord entered Malefor's office and did that which few others dared to do; Speak to Malefor directly.

"Great Prince Malefor", he rattled in a throaty and painful baritone, "It appears that King Jorgen III's resolve is stronger than you think. The blood of Híksti runs deep in his veins."

Greater Weselton wrote:The Kaiser heard about the rebellion back home. He felt like he needed to go back to Weselton, but he wanted to help Princess Anna of Arendelle. He was amazed at her life and death. He wanted to make sure she was safe.

OOC: For the sake of clarity, all of Arendelle's events will be in dark green. That is, if I remember. :p

IC:

"Go back to your country", said Elsa to the Kaiser. "They need you. I will be fine." However, when the Weseltonian Kaiser inquired about Anna, Elsa was taken back in shock. "Anna... she's not looking too good... Perhaps you would like to pay her a visit before you depart?" Elsa, Bishop Vincenzo and Kai led the Weseltonian monarch and pastor to a room in the palace. Walking down the long corridor, they stopped outside a little room. Jamming a key into the hole, Kai opened the door and allowed them to enter.

In the room was a bed, on which lay a fevered Princess Anna. "She has taken ill, and none of the doctors have been able to find out what she is suffering from", said Elsa, with an air of sadness. "Then came the priests. They suspected she was possessed, but could not find anything to exorcise." She then leaned closer to the Kaiser and whispered reluctantly, "I have a feeling it has something to do with Malefor."

The Dragon Realms Empire wrote:After this, Christopher wrote a letter to Elsa, it was sloppily written so he probably wrote it with a great sense of urgency.
To Queen Elsa
I write to you from Iceland, I will buy Arendelle time, but Malefor's army IS approaching
Christopher

Christopher II,

For your own safety, I implore you to remain in Iceland as long as possible. Jorgen will be able to protect you better than I can.

"Sir, the Indominus has received news of the Kraken's whereabouts!" the commander shouted.
"So, where is it?" The PM asked.
"Crew members of the Indominus reported that the creature nearly sunk the ship, just by how powerful the waves it can create." The commander eplied.
"Nearly sunk? What about the other ships in front of us?" The PM said.
"Luckily, they got away just in time. However, the Tirano can't seem to get off the line. We can only go straight for now." The commander said.
"Well then, Prepare yourselves for a bumpy ride." The PM said.

Just then, in the middle of the huge thunderstorm, the Tirano slowly begins tilting. The PM goes outside to get a better view of the situation. The angle of the ship is noticeably different from where it was a few minutes ago. Being in the front edge of the ship, the PM can see just how big the waves are. And suddenly, the ship goes 90 degrees up. One by one, crew members at the back of the ship went overboard and drowns. The PM tries holds onto the ship tightly. Soon, the ship begins to tilt right. Faster, faster. The ship plunges into the water on it's starboard side, leaving the PM very wet. He runs to the back of the ship to see the creature going away. The commander told him that the ship can now turn around as it pleases. The PM knows something dangerous. The Kraken is heading back. And this can only mean one thing.

"Sir! I've just received news that Dante's Freezer has been captured by the DRE." The commander said.
"You don't think i know that? You still have much to learn, young man." The PM said.

The PM ordered for the ships to turn back to OS. He also wrote a letter.

From: Oceasian Scandinavia
To: Various nations (OOC: every nation in the RP except Malefor's DRE)

So, I'm sure that all of you have noticed the recent changes in the political landscape of Europe. Most notably, the rise of the DRE, led by Malefor, the evil dragon. The new DRE has conquered Warfang, Ripto's Empire, and the Forgotten Realms. And recently, Dante's Freezer, belonging to our country, has fallen as well. We have received information from our military that they're using the island as a base to attack Arendelle. To all of you against the actions of Malefor, i heavily recommend that we retake Dante's Freezer, before the DRE can build an army, strong enough to stop the supposedly magical ice powers of Queen Elsa. And if you don't agree to this and Arendelle falls, i see a dark future for Europe. So please, put aside our differences to unite against the common enemy of all of us.

Meanwhile, the army and navy in the Faroe Islands is mobilizing. The naval forces sent to Arendelle are turning back. They're prepared to retake Dante's Freezer, but military support from other nations will be needed. Especially from Iceland and Arendelle, the two closest allies OS has. The PM feels that the battle for Dante's Freezer will be the deciding battle for the future of Europe.

OOC: Phone posting, excuse the miserable length.

IC: A letter was sent from Iceland to OS, informing them that as much naval support would be given, in suspension of the constitution.

Another letter was sent from Arendelle, promising the support of 18 warships and 2,300 soldiers, once internal conflicts have been settled.

Queen Elsa:
I a]m aware of the dangers, but when I was crowned king of Warfang I had to swear that in that in the event of Malefor's return, I would have to fight for the people of Europe, and I can't do that sitting inside in an admittedly nice Castle. I will strike Dante's Freezer, Cynder is building an army there and she must be stopped for Arendelle's sake. If Arendelle falls, Malefor wins the war. Don't try to stop me, It is futile.
Christopher

General Cynder:
What is taking so long, we need to attack NOW! Hurry, don't let Arendelle build up strength.
Gaul

Gaul,
I am still building up an army here. Scouts have reported that Christopher is on his way here, I am going to use him to set up a trap for Elsa.
Even if I wasn't, My orders are to build an army strong enough to to either capture or kill Elsa.
Cynder

Cynder's message was intercepted by Arendelle.
