Raktio wrote:Character Name: Elinor O'Carther
Character Super Name: Rupture
Character Gender: Female
Character Species: Homo superior?
Character Physical Description: One of the LA residents who actually looks human still
Power or Skill: She's able to create a kinetic pulse which starts within little less than a millimeter of her skin (which shreds away loose clothing and exessories if she puts any sort of force behind it), this 'rupture' will literally shove everything away with an extreme amount of kinetic force including light itself. She's going to start of with nearly no control over it, and over time develop her power into it's full potential.
Weakness’s: She has to be careful what she wears, earings being ripped off her ears at extreme for is rather unpleasant to say the least.
Origin Story/Bio: Elinor doesn't know where she came from, considering that she ended up coming out of a temporarily stabilized wormhole created by a few cultists and a technician who knew what he was doing for the most part. Her entrance into this universe came with a bang, literally demolishing the block around the place where she came through. She was taken in and named by Robert O'Carther who is one of the casino managers in the city, after all how else is a homosexual guy going to get a daughter he's always wanted (yep he's only a slightly weird one, gay guy who's always wanted a daughter). None the less she grew up as a normal Las Vegas Luxan, learing all the tricks to gambling and having plenty of sex once hitting puberty (cause what's a good party if there isn't music, gambling, drugs, and sex in it).
However life still likes to mess with people and it messed with Elinor real good. It was after a party and some guys were still hogh off of whatever messed up shit they had (she couldn't tell if one of them had floppy bone because of whatever he had or not) and they managed to come to the conclusion to go ahead and have extra rough sex with her. She had already been satisfied for the evening, and wasn't one for rough sex, despite there conclusion that she was a whore and that she was wanting it, and just teasing them. One of them ended up pulling a knife out and attempted to slice her throat, cause dead or alive she was still fuckable in his overly messed up mind. That's when the power within her kicked in out of her want for self defence, and not even floppy bones survived the blast.
The force of the blast left everything but her, and a crater in the street for a good ten feet radius, out from there it was as though everything was hit by a very strong gust of wind. The blast hadknocked away everything including air which snaped back into place. Elinor, even though she did survive, was badly injured with her ears torn from earings ripping out at high speeds, and the sudden clap of atmosphere left her ears a complete wreck.
After that it's been recover, learn martial arts and learn control over her kinetic ruptures.

Power or Skill:
Many robotic enhancements. Robotic left arm that smashes with the force of a tank cannon as well as spew flame from its palm and heat to temperatures capable of melting most metals. Highly advanced robotic vision capable of sensing heat, electro-magnetic signals, and magic. It can also visualize blueprints of buildings or cyberspace interactions between computing devices. Added speed and toughness due to enhancements. especially resistant to hot temperatures and can withstand extreme heats that would kill most people.
Weakness’s: Weak to electricity attacks.
Origin Story/Bio:
Jess grew and worked in the bowels of Britewood as a technician handling heavy machinery. Due to the harsh culture of the factory-city, she picked up the hobby of modifying her body with different enhancements (its like getting tattoos there). Spending most of her free time in on the cyberspace grid and surfing the depths of the internet, she became fascinated with the works of Nathan Silver. When his disappearance was declared and he was announced as a fugitive of the nation, she became enraged and betrayed by the claims against her idol. Jess told herself that the country was lying to the people and that she needed to find her hero in order to prove them wrong. After much research and time she hacked into Silver's disappearance report that hypothesized his escape into Luxan territory. Vowing she would search for him and tell him what they nation was saying about him, she worked hard to modify her body to its limits. Once ready, she took the next ship back to earth to brave the Luxan scum of a homeland and start the hunt to find Nathan Silver.Character Name: John Liver

Origin Story/Bio:
Going rogue somewhere along a mission to secure terrorists in the amazon rainforest, John Liver was blessed by Nycron: a lesser old one with a parasitic zombifying power. Character Super Name: Kojoto
Character Gender: Male
Character Species: Human
Character Physical Description: Hispanic Male, late 20's
Power or Skill: Storytelling that warps perception of space/time (sometimes it actually warps space and time, but that's rare, and always small things that come from very vivid stories). He's mostly a trickster, and avoids direct combat. He cannot harm humans with his storytelling, but it's unknown if he can harm others.
Weakness’s: People's "bullshit" meters. A swift kick in the crotch. He's human. He's a trickster like Coyote (Kojoto being esperanto for Coyote), but he's still human.
Origin Story/Bio:
Some call him a trickster. Others a con man. Some say there is a small desert town with a festival in his honor. There is on constant along the path of Kojoto: stories.
Kojoto is a roughly 30 year old man born "Joseph De Las Ma'ii"
Joseph had always had a knack for storytelling from a young age. Even when he was young and telling campfire stories to his friends, some would claim that the world would slowly shape to his voice, slowly weaving a tapestry of colour, light, and sound for the mind.
Joseph's early years, until about 20, were filled with him always trying to figure out how to make himself a better storyteller, or memorizing new tales. This was often at the expense of his school work. This was okay, because he knew he was going to be a famous storyteller, and with fame comes riches.
When Joseph was around 20, he started wandering around doing odd jobs and telling stories on the side. Campgrounds, schools, bookstores, coffee shops, poetry slams, etc. He told his stories day in and day out, hoping that one day fame would come his way, that everyone would know the name "Joseph De Las Ma'ii".
When Joseph was 23, he found himself at a former Indian reservation (or whatever Luxa has that is similar to this) featuring a museum, fire pit, motel, and casino. After telling some native american folktales (to a standing ovation, might I add), an old Indian man approached Joseph with the offer to tell him a "real story". At first taken back by this man's disrespect, Joseph accepted the invitation and agreed to meet the man at the fire pit at midnight.
"Oh, old man! What is your name?"
"I am Eto. If anyone gives you a problem about getting access to the fire pit trail, tell them Eto sent you. That will clear things up."
Just as promised, at midnight the man was at the fire pit. He spoke, his voice almost matching the crackling wood of the fire.
"I will tell you a story of Coyote."
Eto's voice began to resonate throughout the desolate fire pit.
The Earth began to warp, and the old man's voice turned into the whisper of a far off waterfall. His eyes became the moon, and this teeth the stars.
In thee distance, Joseph saw a tall mountain pasteled with red, black, and purple by the tones of the man's voiced piercing the eternal night that surround the mountain.
At the very top lay Coyote, waiting with his trusty walking stick to steal fire from the Black God of the Mountain, in order to rid his people of the eternal night.
Joseph leaped forward with his stick, plunging it into the heart of the fire.
When the black god of the mountain looked back and noticed what had happened, anger began to pour from his eyes, and with a furious roar the mountain turned to dust.
If the black god of the mountain couldn't have his fire to himself, no one could have it. Coyote began falling towards the earth, the one source of light in the eternal night soon to be lost forever.
But Coyote had a thought. He grabbed the fire from the stick, and tossed it with all of his might into the air.
Then there was light.
The painting the old man had created began to the dissolve. The story had ended. Yet Joseph still had coyote's walking stick in hand.
"Story tellers are those who throw the sun into the air. We share the good in the world with those who are deprived of it. You are a good storyteller. I have watched you for many years. Hoping one day that you would understand what creates a great storyteller. You have yet to understand that you do not become your story, your story must become you. Just as Coyote's story became him."
Eto placed his hand upon Joseph's chest.
"Be Coyote. Let your story become you. Good night, Joseph."
The old man grew brighter, slowly morphing into a field of colours that ribboned and twisted in the deep tapestry of the night.
Stories on forums, blogs, and news sights of this mysterious storyteller began to captivate the public. "Kojoto", they called him. Rumors of strange occurrences that coincided of the man's appearances only deepened the mystery around him. Debts paid off, rapists tied up, muggers mugged, warm meals at doorsteps. Where was he from? What was his name?
That same year, the body of the missing "Joseph Des Las Ma'ii" was found in a gutter not far off from his home town. Presumed cause of death was homicide. The town grieved over the loss of their storyteller, with the town council unanimously deciding to found a storytelling festival in his honor. "Joseph De Las Ma'ii Storytelling and Writing Festival". The mysterious Kojoto hasn''t missed a year.

Character Super Name: Nightshade
Character Gender: Female
Character Species: Human, human psionic
Character Physical Description:
Height: 5'3'
Weight: ~120 lb
Eye color: Cyan
Hair color: Silvery blue
Generally dresses in all black: body armor made from a semi-biological material that is strong, yet light and a full face helmet with an internal HUD. Her weapons include: a pair of short (~3 feet long) naginatas with blades of a strange black metal, a pair of plasma pistols (with two settings: charbroil and vaporize), various knives, and an alien plasma beam rifle capable of shooting down small starships.(Image)
Power or Skill:
Ninjitsu: Trained as an assassin before she snapped and went rogue, Nightshade is a stealthy and lighting fast melee combatant, if somewhat lacking in brute strength. Fights unarmed, with her naginatas, knives, or pistols. Also, her beam rifle (see absolute attack).
Shadow Embodiment: When darkness falls, Nightshade's true power blossoms, she becomes one with the shadows:
1) able to cloak herself in wisps of darkness, making herself harder to see and hit. Also gives her perfect night vision.
2) Able to use shadows as gateways, including her own. The larger the shadow, the farther it can send her (a human sized shadow can send her across a decently large room, 30-40 meters)
3) Able to coerce the shadows of other intelligent beings into doing her bidding, temporarily. The owner of the shadow can try and oppose her attempts to mug their shadow, if they were expecting it and were ready to try and stop her. Can use shadows under her control to fight opponents or give her information. Can try and coerce several shadows at once or in quick succession.
Note: Nightshade ONLY has this power at night, from dusk until the first light of dawn. Can also work indoors during daytime if far enough away from sunlight (e.g. underground). Without it, she's essentially just a youngish human with assassin training and alien gear, but no special power.
Absolute Attack: When Nightshade escaped from the compound where she was trained, she wasn't the only piece of highly dangerous hardware leaving. She stole an alien rifle that her former controllers were trying to reverse engineer. Though it has an extremely limited fire rate, it fires beams of plasma capable of cutting through absolutely anything.(Image)
Weaknesses: Daylight, lack of shadows (prevents her from teleporting through them or mugging them)
Origin Story/Bio: Not much is known about Nightshade's early background, but it is assumed that she was originally a child of the Jindar Remnant, based off her eye color and psionic-based abilities (which are unusual in most humans, but a bit more common among the Jindar). Regardless of her place of birth, at a young age Nightshade was abducted by a reclusive, shadowy criminal organization called Nox Illumium , who wished to create a cadre of psionic assassins to further their interests, of which Nightshade was to be the first. Their methods were not kind: due to the psychological damage she suffered as Nox Illumium's guinea pig, Nightshade remembers almost nothing of her former life, not name, personality, family, friends, nor home. After her escape, Nightshade went on a revenge-driven psychotic killing spree, killing every member of Nox Illumium she could remember from her training and conditioning. During this rampage, several different security forces, including the Knights, caught wind of a strange pattern in deaths among the residents of the Luxan criminal underworld: known petty criminals torn to pieces in back alleys, but security cameras saw nothing in the alley with them but their own shadows; a shady scientist was found dead in a room that had been locked from the inside; and, strangest of all, a well known business magnate was killed in his own office. The killer was caught on security footage, but was a pitch black copy of the magnate himself: his shadow had risen from the floor to decapitate its owner. This incident caused mass panic, and began a manhunt for Nightshade, who promptly vanished from society.
After several years, with no further attacks, most security agencies have closed their books on the "shadow assassin". But now, Nighshade has resurfaced, intent on investigating her past and understanding why Nox Illumium wants a psionic. She is more sane than she was, yes, but just as driven to put an end to her former masters.
Affiliations: Neutral, she's only interested in her own goals, but is willing to sell her services to support her investigations. That is, if you can afford her price.

This feels like the beginning of a good character.
Try and make them mesh more with the setting and the themes were going for here.
Also dial the power level back a bit.

Did you read the bit where her power only works AT NIGHT? Just find a hero with daylight powers. If you can think of a way to counteract her shadows, Nightshade is fairly weak, with no other superpowers.
Also, if you could explain the theme you're trying to work towards, I'll include it. I couldn't find a particular theme in the KaG intro post.
