Ops: Harbertia, Charmera

Universal Guardians


-Description-

(... a bunch of young 'heroes' from different worlds hanging out in an old space station that use to be an outpost for intergalactic policing unit making use of the facilities, and equipment on board to do their own acts of heroism, even if such actions are not wise.)

GPOP-4321 was once an outpost for the Galactic Patrol during the Alliance Era. When the Alliance fell apart, the Galactic Patrol, which was an interstellar criminal apprehension organization operating under Interstellar law, also suffered. While it could have survived politics that remain shrouded resulted in the organization splintering along with the Allliance. GPOP-4321 was one of the various outposts to be abandoned during the fall, and remain forgotten till discovered by a Salvaging company, that while in the midst of tearing the outdated station apart, was contacted by the Universal Guardians, who made a surprising offer on the wreck, which the rodent like salvagers couldn't refuse. The Universal Guardians have currently been on the station for three days now; most systems are none operational; defense weapons are disconnected from the main power unit, the giant visual screen in the commons doesn't give an image, the Main Computer is still demanding GP Clearance Codes, and other inconveniences, like the need to replace some light fixtures.

CeNet - People
Guardians are members of the Universal Guardians. Guardian membership is by invite only, and requires a majority vote from the members assembled.


CeNet - Races

Ckiestilians are are near human race from the planet Cyris, though internally different. They do not have ribs as we understand them, and their lung (as they only have one) acts in a cycling fashion, with air entering one chamber on the left side, and then flowing into the right chamber before being exhaled. They have pale to grey skin, and hair ranging from a light blue to a blood red. In their native society they dwell in nomadic clans which travel the sandy plains, only coming to the poles commune with the Sisterhood, and take part in religious rituals of meditation meant to strengthen the inner spirit, and empower the people as a whole. While they accredit their powers to the spirit, it's generally understood that their abilities are of a psychic, or electro-chemical nature.

Sample Abilities
  • Attractive Force - Can pull a target towards them.
  • Empathy - Ability to sense, and impose emotions.
  • Energy Bolt - Can use Repelling Force in combination with Shocking Palm to send forth a bolt of pure energy.
  • Repelling Force - Can push a target away.
  • Telekinesis - Can move objects with focus of the mind.
  • Shocking Palm - Can focus energy into one's hand causing a stun effect when in contact with bare skin.

Errant
-Appearance-
Home world: Antioch, a World completely devoid of life. As if something wiped the planet clean, save for the "Foundries" and the Errants. However it is far from deserted, being a massive metropolis for the Errants "Serfs" (Semi Sapient AI) to perform the functions of maintaining the Errant way of life.

Info: Errants are bound by a single "Code". A set of programmed rules that governs their every decision. This code was put in place by their creators (The Sahauri) to make sure they never rebelled against their masters and protected them. However the Errants creators soon fell into extinction, though none are sure what had killed them. As a parting gift for their unflinching service, the last living Sahauri, before it died, gave the Errants the ability to interpret the code as they wished, giving them a free will of sorts. Though they still clearly follow the Code, orders have formed around different interpretation of it.

The Code:
An Errant, through action or inaction, must not cause the harm of a being that cannot defend itself.
An Errant must defend the lives of its comrades and must not, through inaction or action, harm them.
An Errant must follow the orders of it's lord to the letter and without question.
An Errant must defend its own life.
An Errant must not tell a falsehood or mistruth.
An Errant must not refuse a challenge from an equal.
An Errant must keep order wherever possible.

Orders:
While the Code may seem clear, several of the terms remain undefined and since the Errant now lack a "Lord" they seek someone to fill that void. Also, there is debate as to which clauses supersede each other, if any. Some Orders even ignore part of the code, believing it to be an error of the databanks or a test of the Masters.
There are countless orders, however three good examples would be:

The Order of the Shield:
The Order of the Shield believe that the purpose of the Code is to protect the innocent and weak, and that all other purposes are unimportant compared to that single ideal and superseded by it.

The Order of the Fallen:
A more grim and sorrowful order, they believe that the Code strictly says they must protect the remains of Sahauri's civilisation, seeing as they were once their "Lord".

The Order of the Crown:
By far the most populous and influential Order. The Crown believes the duty of the Errants is to keep galactic peace and order, that the worlds need to be unified under a single alliance once more.

CeNet - Worlds

Cyris
A world partially obscured by the Aldrama Nebula. It's primarily a world of blue sand, and spire rock formations. The North, and South poles are the only locations supportive of large vegetation. Cyris has a slighly secretive society, in the sense that off worlders are not welcomed unless invited by some of the highest authorities. They're government is not largely understood, though power seems to be focused on an individual called the Ru'gar, a title usually translated as Emperor, though a more accurate translation would be Ruler. The sands are inhabited by various beetles, and mole like creatures with the skies being filled with winged reptiles.

It's been proposed that our fist situation, aside from establishing our characters, should be handling some creature loose on the station; how does that sound?

Not sure yet, possibly insectoid, or rodent like. Definitely pest related. Might look like a hairless dog with a rodent tail, and saber tooth fangs with bug eyes.

Something like that, I guess... The necromorph strain is very good at adapting. It can take humans, animals, and other life forms too. Kinda like a fungus.

Home World: Idahria

The planet of Idahria is eternally dark. There are no stars to give it light. There is no sunrise or sunset on this planet.
Five sentient species live on both the surface and in the ocean. Yet only two are not as savage as the others. The Astelle are the representatives of Idahria, being the most intelligent. The Astelle, along with the Acotali and the Nomira live in the oceans of Idahria. The land-dwellers are the Destapt and the Wiaq. These two species are sentient, but will eat anything including the ocean-dwellers. They look similar, having large bulky bodies and long, barbed tails. Despite this, they are hostile even to each other. They have a row of three eyes on both sides of their head which have adapted to the darkness.

An advantage of living in the ocean is the fact that neither the Destapt nor the Wiaq know how to swim. They are the apex predators of the land. In the water, they are vulnerable to the sentient ocean-dwellers and the other creatures there.

The Astelle and all their brethren are bioluminescent. Their bodies are jelly-like, so you can literally see through them. Their eyes are elongated and glow in the dark. When threatened, they send bright sparks across their body in beautiful patterns. They may also do this when experiencing other emotions. The magnitude of the electric shock may depend on the emotion. They are indeed, dangerous to creatures that are vulnerable to electric shocks. Direct contact with an angry Astelle always proves to be fatal. When one is happy, however, touching them is safe but you still will get a little shock. When running from predators, they can turn their lights off. They often keep the lights on because they want to see each other. To their own kind, they are very sociable. But to the two other species closest to them, they can become extensively hostile.

The shape of an Astelle and their other kin are almost humanlike, only they are much smaller. Their brains, digestive, and reproductive system are completely visible. They have three fingered hands and toeless, finned feet for swimming. On their backs are also transparent wide flaps also for swimming.

Their body structure gives them the ability to literally glide through space without being in danger of suffocating or freezing. As long as the electric shocks are going through their bodies, they live. Apart from that, they can also glide in open air for a short amount of time. Kinda like flying fish. Their voices sound vaguely human, kind of robotic. Like EVE from Wall-E. They can make a wide range of high and low sounds.
The Astelle do not have mouths. In the deeper parts of Idahria's oceans, the Astelle absorb heat from the undersea volcanoes as a food source. Meaning, they take their life from heat and heat alone. Even the smallest amount of heat will supply an Astelle with enough energy to last a decade. Their lifespans are pretty long, but stop growing at the age of 10.

Abilities/Disabilities:
-Excellent swimmers and fliers.
-Able to generate deadly electric shocks.
-Able to create short range EMP pulses. (They use this on their homeplanet to confuse large sea predators that kinda look like anglerfish, only they're transparent and have longer bodies.
-Their tails can double as whips that cause excruciatingly painful marks that end up looking like jellyfish stings.
-Can use echolocation to navigate awfully dark places, especially when their body lights are off.
-Can learn languages, though there are some words they cannot pronounce.
-Very good with computers. Its as if they can connect to the console and modify it from the inside.

His head and tail are like this pokemon's. His body is transparent, so he will be the color of whatever he's in front of, unless he activates his bioluminescent quality. When lighted up, he becomes bright blue. His eyes are completely white and glowing. He can blink, too.

Wayte is just like any other Astelle out there. Seemingly cold, critical, and calculating, but really sweet and amiable.
When meeting someone for the first time, he may get aggressive and unnecessarily hostile, but easily warms up to that certain person over time. Very intelligent and observant of his surroundings.
Bio Summary
Before joining the Guardians, Wayte was an ordinary Astelle worker, gathering resources for safe shelters from predators.

Assets
Little spherical ship. (It fits him well) Used to travel through the sky into space.
Attributes:
No special attributes. He can do anything that any other Astelle can do.

Both are very inventive, at least to me they seem rather new, a bit refreshing.

The invite thing wouldn't really apply to the initial members, as we would have been involved in something to bring us together. The invite segment was so that when new characters came into the RP, we could play an adventure that would allow us to see them in action, and it come down to a vote on either or not to invite them into the Guardians.

I'll consider the Necromorph.

Simple Personality Profile: Though he can come off as somewhat cold and bitter, he is (or at least, once was) a kind and friendly man. He is also honorable and cares a great deal about his patients and the few friends he still has.

Bio Summery Robert Sinclair was born to a military family in the waning days of the Alliance. His father was the Captain of a vessel in the Alliance Navy, and Robert spent much of his youth travelling throughout Alliance space with his family. He had always dreamed of one day becoming a Captain like his father, until one day when he was 15, he first discovered his healing abilities when he saved the life of a crewman who was severely injured in a training accident. From that time forward his primary interest was in medicine. When he turned 18 he left his father's vessel, and attended a College for young men and women with special abilities. It was there that he began formally studying medicine, and worked on honing his healing powers; as he did so however, he discovered healing was not the only special ability in his repertoire. He soon realized the glowing energy he saw when he used his healing powers (which he rather unoriginally dubbed "Light") could be formed into a ball, thrown at a target, and then explode (that particular realization left a large hole in his dorm room wall, and very nearly singed off his eyebrows). He also realized that he could expand the Light around his entire body, which enabled him to glide short distances. At the age of 20, he realized he could continuously, and eventually without even thinking about, use his healing light on his own body to slow down his aging process by nearly 1/4.

With a solid grasp on his special abilities, Robert went to Medical School after graduating from College to learn as much about medicine as possible in order to maximize his healing potential. He graduated from Medical School near the top of his class, then decided to fulfill his childhood dream (at least partly) by joining the Alliance Navy. When he graduated from OCS, his father gave him a custom-made hand cannon, with his initials inscribed in the handle (and he still carries that weapon to this day). Sadly, Robert's Naval career was short lived: After merely 4 years of service, the Alliance collapsed, leaving him out of a job. As if that weren't enough, shortly after the collapse, the vessel his father commanded, and the rest of his family lived on, vanished without a trace.

In the chaos that followed the collapse of the Alliance and the splintering of the Galactic Patrol, Robert traveled to a number of different planets and put his healing abilities to good use by setting up small, temporary clinics to heal those who could no longer get help elsewhere. Unfortunately, during this time he was also often forced to use his combat abilities to protect his patients as well. Over the next few decades he slowly became more and more embittered as many of his friends started to pass away, and more and more of his patients were coming to his clinics too badly injured or otherwise too far gone to be helped. One of these patients was a former researcher with the Alliance military, who had developed a prototype A.I. called a "Ghost" which he asked Robert to take care of once he was gone. Now, some 50 years after the collapse of the Alliance, Robert, seeking to bring back some semblance of order to the Galaxy, has joined up with a group calling themselves the "Universal Guardians," and is doing what he can to assist in repairing the group's recently acquired space station.
