12 PM, 3,000 Spanish Maquis cross the border armed with stolen French weapons. The local garrison of 120 spot the Maquis as they approach, with the advantage of entrenched positions they open fire. The exchange wakes the local village's population, as they were ordered they report to the local barracks where an officer assigns them weapons. With the militia rushing to the front lines the military telegraph office contacts General Cortez, still awake and reading the book of the German dictator. Cortez assesses the situation and sees fit to try his men, he orders his brigade of armored cars to the front line as well as contacts the air force.
The Maquis' offensive was daring with so few numbers the chance of success was low, but they pushed on. Their return fire did little damage to the Spanish regulars other than suppress them. Slowly pushing forward the Maquis come under fire from light howitzer position on near by hills. The noise produced by small arms fire and howitzer shot limited the Maquis organisation, which relied on shouting to one another.
The only air groups close enough to respond were two wings, one SM 79 Spaviero wing and one wing of WW1 German biplanes. The wing of Biplanes took off first seeing as how the SM 79's needed more time to prepare. Shortly after taking off the SM 79's had passed the German fighters and continued on its flight. Once reaching the area that the Maquis attacked the leader of the wing passed over the battle field to get a view of the battle. He could see very little but decided that he'd drop his payload east of where the howitzers were firing. He lead his wing over the french border, so he'd be sure to not damage the SM 79, he was still fairly unfamiliar with the craft and was a cautious man.
On the second run the wing leader approached in a dive, suppressing the Maquis with the dorsal mounted 7mm MG, his wing followed closely. When he was about 100-170 meters above the ground he pulled out of the dive, while dropping his payload. 12 50kg bombs on a group of maquis. By the time the fighter arrived the Sm 79's were on their way to rearm.
An hour of fighting later the Maquis were routed. 1357 Maquis died along with 34 regulars, 342 militia, 1 armored car.
