British military forces are demobilized at hearing the French-German conflict settled down, and the protests ended. The deserters where given a small fee, but allowed to go on with their lives. The Royal Navy moved back to standard patrols, and the Lowlands invasion plan was thrown into a fire. Britain however, decides to keep it's alliance with France, as an attempt to make sure the centuries old rivalry is completely abolished. The British people soon calmed down, and peace returned to the British isles.

Italy prospers as a neutral nation, with the budget on military decreased and more money to distribute to the people, the population has slowly turned from supporting imperialism and colonialism into neutrality and peace. The shipment of supplies and equipment heading towards Spain has arrived and will camp for the week in Barcalona before heading back. With popular support for the war gone, the French forces have withdrawn from the German borders back to bases. The army has been reduced to peacetime size of 1 million (800,000 full time, 200,000 full time reserve) and the Northern Fleet has returned back to ports. An economic crash has been averted by the governments employment of Keynesian economics. However the French economy has suffered slight setbacks thanks to company workers refusing to work. The government has taken a drastic approach to this, by nationalising 95% of large industry. As well as this, all officers who refused to obey orders were arrested and sent to jail (two colonels were shot), however all non-commissioned troops were given a full pardon. The top brass of the military have been completely reformed, with the post of Supreme Commander of the Army given to Charles de Gaulle who helped suppress mutinies.

Reznov sat in his office listing to his advisors tell him the current situation in Europe. The citizens were getting very uneasy with the aggressive Germany and the old enemy of the USSR. The people wanted to know what the RUR was going to do, most did not want war unless provoked. So Reznov went the the Kiev square to give a speech about the situation.

"people of the f the republic of Ukraine and Romania, I am here giving this speech to an ouch the RURs neutrality in the current European crisis. I do not want war and I know you the people do not want war. So the RUR will be neural unless provoked by any other nation. I will though try to help relive the tensions across Europe. And if we do get provoked or invaded I promise you all that we will be ready and we will fight until we all die, we will never be part of any other nation. So I am going to impose a new military act that will be explained later. The RUR will always be ready!"
The people watching the speech all roared and cheered Reznovs name and "power to the RUR" most of the population was behind Reznov and a patriotic pride swept the nation. More men enlisted in the military knowing that they were going to defend their nation against any aggressor that would try to invade the RUR.

The new "Defensive act" was emplaced after the speech. A part of the act was a new training program for all parts of the military to be trained to the highest degree possible. Also a new special unit was created called the Ukrainian Elite Commandos or the UEC. The UEC picked out of the men in the army who had the most potential and showed excellence in training and they were given better training especially in gorilla warfare. The UEC would have 50,000 men who's job was to protect the nation from invasion and was more of a defensive unit rather than a aggressor. Also Reznov ordered the company RAM to design a new tank that the RUR could use in their military. The government gave RAM a very good amount of funding for the project called " Iron Horse". Also the size of the military forces are to increase to 300,000 men to help defend the RUR, the military is quiet small but makes up for it by elite and very difficult training, 1/10 men do not complete the training because it is so difficult. The biggest and most criticized part of the act is that all citizens from the ages 25-40 must complete a 6 month training program by the year 1939. The training program is to teach the citizens how to handle weapons and clean them as well as guerrilla warfare incase the RUR is ever taken over by another nation.

While Reznov was in his office his assistant came I I the office saying "sir I have her a message from Spain" Reznov took the message and read it, and while think long and hard he thought it would be a great idea, he then went a telegrams Spain.

The French armed forces been put through reforms after the near war with Germany. The SOMUA S35 has been upgraded with a larger turret and a better engine, giving it better speed and endurance. The older S35's will either be sold or kept in storage (however they will not be completely replaced for awhile). Also, two of the three new Richelieu-class battleships have been launched. The battleship Richelieu will be staioned with the Mediterranean Fleet, Jean Bart will be stationed with the Northern Fleet and the Rhône (under construction) will be stationed with the Atlantic fleet. This is part of a policy of modernization, shrinking the military, but making it modern and effective.

Also after the near war with Germany, now known in Paris as the Belgium Incident, a new war-plan has been drawn up to simultaneously deal with Germany and Spain. This plan is top secret and is only known by the top brass. The basic plan is a diversionary attack in to Belgium, Luxembourg and the Ruhr, followed two days later by a larger attack, taking the Saar, Rhineland, Baden-Wurrtemburg and Hessen. The assault on Germany would take up around 900,000 troops. Simultaneously, the French northern fleet would bolckade Germany, cutting it off from the outside world.

Meanwhile, IF Spain declared support for Germany (which Paris hopes will not happen) a much smaller force of 150,000- 200,000 would cross the Pyrenees in to the Basque county and Catalonia regions of Spain which are both the most industrialized regions, but also the regions with the large independence movements. At the same time as this, a force of 50,000 French troops would land on the beaches of Catalonia and march on Barcelona, which would be under blockade by Franc's powerful fleet.

We have been out of this conflict for a lot of time, but no more. As a protectorate we have enrolled our own army and we will help Italy and its allies and we hope Italy will send weapons so we can organize militias.
We do hope that if we help Italy in the conflict, they will give us more freedoms and one day become a free nation and Italy's ally for life.
If we get into the conflict, I as the leader request Italy's protection and weapons supplies.

We believe Italy will help us, because if they don't we would deeply disappointed.

Kiev News Today: A large number of explosions have erupted in the cities of Bucharest and Lasi. The explosions have killed 221 people and 634 have been injured. The government has blamed the Romanian Liberation Front. 20,000 men have been moved into Bucharest an is working with the civilian populace to did the men who have planed the attacks.

The telegram from the USSR finally reached Reznov. After reading it he immediately replied.

Keynesian economics is, put simply, is the government spending money when the people cannot. It works by the government spending more money when people do not have work eg building new airports, railways. The government can either borrow money and give people jobs (this is the why Mr Keynes suggested), however, in a state dominated economy (like France and USSR), the government do not need to borrow money to fund the projects. Then people can spend money again and buy things. This helps other people find work. However you MUST be careful not to over do it, if it is over done,it can lead to large debt. I also recommend massive nationalization for your economy. This will allow the government to get goods cheaper as they do not have to pay private corporations.

As for the battleships, France can build for you 2 Dunkerque-class battleships for 4.5 tons of gold each and we can sell you an older Bretagne-class battleship for 3 tons of gold. I have included the two class's specifications. Unfortunately, I unable to sell the designs or ships of the larger, Richelieu class. It Senate has deemed it a matter of high national defense.
