Yes. Yes. This makes me very happy.

Also, there are far to many Dalish Elves. I must rectify this situation by making a City Elf. They're completely different. I mean, I could make a human or a dwarf, but I can just as easily not. Or if the OP would prefer I can switch to a human with minimal effort.

Warrior
Name: Adethiel Idras, goes by Adeth.
Race: Elf
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Image

Couldn't pass up an opportunity to use the Origins character creator for this. As for her actual body, she is surprisingly muscular by Elf standards, but still small, her overall build rather lithe compared to the average human.

Personality: Adethiel is headstrong and rather rough around the edges. Not overly violent but she'd sooner stab her enemies than talk to them. Not really sure what else to put, I prefer to develop this as I write.
Personal belongings: Two iron daggers, leather armor, a brown hooded cloak, and a small amount of coin, ten silvers and a handful of bits.
Bio:
Adethiel was born an only child in the Denerim Alienage, her father working at one of the local stores and her mother doing odd jobs for money. Growing up, her favorite activities always revolved around roughhousing and the like, despite the disapproval of her parents. It was where she learned the basics of fighting. Her early childhood was otherwise uninteresting, lacking any major traumatic or otherwise life changing events. During her teenage years she got involved in a gang in the Allienage when her family fell on hard times, to put bread on the table.

She had no skill for stealth, so her role was more overt. Mugging, intimidation, etcetera. She managed to get her hands on a pair of daggers, and it was training with the other members of the gang that she learned how to fight with a blade, though a dagger was hardly comparable to a longsword. She made a good deal of coin this way, and luckily for Adethiel her family never pushed when she lied about where she got the money. During this time, life was good. The junior Idras had friends in the gang, newfound skills in combat that grew with each passing month, and her family now had more than enough money to survive on.

The first major issue in her life came when it was time to get married. As with all the Alienage elves, she was to be set up in an arranged marriage. She was opposed to the idea of marrying a man she didn't know, but not enough to make her simply refuse. The problem came with her 'source of income'. She knew it would be especially difficult to maintain that life with a husband. On top of that, her gang were her friends, her people, and it'd been that way for years. Crime was what she did. That was what made the decision for her, and she was adamant about it. Her parents still tried, but Adethiel's efforts to sabotage them and appear as the most unsuitable wife possible prevailed. While there was a great deal of tension between her and her parents, the situation eventually went back to normal.

The next major issue appeared some years later, this one far more significant. After years of crime, Adeth's luck finally ran out. For once she was well and truly caught. Well, not thrown in prison, but the posters with her face on it going up around Denerim would significantly increase the chance of that happening. She had little choices, either pray she didn't get caught, or flee. She chose the latter. She finally came clean to her parents about her profession, and despite their anger, left with a hug and kiss. The gang she had run with for so long acquired a cloak and suit of armor for her, something she was endlessly grateful for. With that, Adeth made the decision to flee very far from Demerim. Hopefully to return some time once everyone had forgotten she existed. Until then she stuck to a regular routine. Show up in a town, stay in the inn, mug a few unsuspecting victims, and move on before any humans decided to corner her in an alley. Damn shems had a tendency to do that when an elf shows up unwanted.

I hope all is in order, but I have this feeling that I've done something horribly wrong here. Then again, that seems to happen whenever I write an application so buisness as usual I guess.

Well, she's already proficient enough to survive. Having knowledge without practical use would be, to a Dalish-raised elf, pointless. Perhaps interesting, but pointless.

Well, Soren was raised Dalish. He fled to Lothering after the Darkspawn returned. That's pretty recent, I think.

Darkspawn raids can happen, but a blight is more rare. It could've been one of those.

Okay, so Soren is raised Dalish, but abandoned the culture later?

Oh boy a DA RP! This looks fun!

However I have a question. Would it be acceptable to be a cousin of the Late King Maric? I know that would make me somewhat royalty, but it'll be downplayed less than Alistair's birthrights.

I had hoped so. It seemed to fit with Dalish speech patterns, while also using common sounds from the language, including the feminine -il ending.

This cousin character would be a second cousin of Calian, therefore he wouldn't have "direct" access to the throne of Ferelden. Plus like Alistair he wants nothing to do with it. And him and Loghain wouldn't get along. I have such a good background story to go with it.

Mage Application
Name: Kalestos Vorenus
Race: Human
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Personality: See bio.
Mage speciality: Bloodmage
Maleficar? Maleficar.
Personal belongings: Staff of the Magister Lord, dagger, enchanted black linen hooded cloak, some healing potions and mana potions. Some money, generic clothes, etc. A book on blood magic named the Karaethon Cycle, written by an ancient Tevinter Magister. Lifedrinker amulet. Blood Ring. Likewise, an enchanted Tevinter belt that boots constitution and spellpower.
Bio:
Kalestos grow up as a member of a fairly well-to-do Tevinter noble family, receiving a fairly good education in most things- being not bad with several weapons, either, but most important was his obsession with magic. His father was a Tevinter magister, and most of his family weren't exactly shy in using blood magic, and experimenting in the more shunned forms of magic, his older sister being something of an experimenter, testing some dark magic on him, and helping create the myriad array of personalities that exist in his mind. Though there were also physical scars as well as mental. Kalestos is sometimes hesitant when he goes into the fade, as he had an unfortunate encounter there with one of the more powerful demons, and was trapped in a nightmare realm for some time. Unbeknownst to him, his sister had manipulated him into the situation as one of her greater experiments. When he barely managed to escape, his memories on that a a little odd, as there are certain things he does not quite remember, he discovered that a problem had formed in whilst he was in his predicament- a problem other than the degradation of his sanity. He does not realize that he never properly escaped, and had to make an agreement with the demon, so that they would share the same body, and he would wake. The demon could take over him at will, and it obviously shows an intelligent mind, not having turned him into an abomination or anything of the like. Part of the agreement forced upon Kalestos was that he would forget the last part of the debacle itself, and so the truth concerning the scheme of things would never be known by him.

His family had been discovered using blood magic. Now, usually the rich and powerful in the Tevinter Imperium bribe the authorities to look the other way on that kind of thing, but his father had powerful enemies, and so they had to go into hiding- most of them split up to better hide from those who were after them, and would end up travelling to distant places. Most of which were in Ferelden. Kalestos was given the the Magister Lord's staff, by his father just before they separated and went their own ways. Having travelled to various parts of Ferelden, he has adjusted to imitating the accents and customs of people round this land fairly well, and treads carefully, lest those who would hunt apostates, not to mention blood mages, like himself; find him. With the Darkspawn let loose, he seeks to not only survive, but to profit and grow in power from the chaos that besets Ferelden. Of course, it may be possible a future he hadn't anticipated lies in wait for Kalestos. Sometimes delving into the kinds of activities that Tevinter nobles do best, he usually portrays himself as an a avid reader of books, as well as a scholar, philosopher and theologian of sorts, despite his youth.

He's a bit of a lone wolf, and if he ever allies with someone else, you can be sure he'll inevitably attempt to plot their downfall, and stab them in the back when the time is right. In short, Kalestos manipulates anyone through his words or use of magic for his own desires. He is a seeker of knowledge, often sneaking into ancient ruins and perusing through old tomes. Lust and greed fuel his motives, and he allies with no one, instead choosing to manipulate both sides to get what he wants.

He is rather odd at times. Said oddness is apparent in the variety of different personalities he seems to have. His darker, more animal-like side can be quite predatory in nature, when baser instincts and emotions have more sway over him. Sometimes he can be brutal, impulsive, excessively-violent and possessing of a lethally-short temper. However, despite his aggression and obvious blood lust in battle, he can possess a feral cunning and has a knack for quickly exploiting any opening his opponent reveals. In addition, he can be blunt, sarcastic, and quite sadistic, revealing a psychotic grin or laughing maniacally whenever he becomes excited sometimes, or eerily silent, cold and disdainful at other times. He is also very rude and quite disrespectful at times, and mockingly polite, cunning and manipulative at others. He's often serious, yet at the same time disdainful of others, often laughing when opponents claim that they can defeat him, unless they tie in with things he's come to fear in life. He possesses both a superiority complex and an inferiority complex. He sometimes considers most other people weaker, and beneath him. He treats them as you might expect, yet when he believes others to be stronger- a rare thing indeed, or they have proven themselves to be stronger, Kalestos obsesses over them, wanting to become as strong as them, yet also seeming fanatical towards them, and perhaps as scared of them.

And he can often be a far cry from disdainful, being rather the opposite on other occasions. On the rare occasion, an older self of his can appear, which seems friendly, cheerful, good-natured, and tends to acts very carefree, masking many of his real feelings with a smile. Kalestos is often emotionally distant, refusing to allow anyone to become too close to him. At other times, he can seem vague, distracted and oddly emotionless. At times, he can be somethng of a gambler. He often plays chess and cards. He also likes nature, and has a fondness for the night, and darkness.

I may add a bit more to his bio, but I think this should be comprehensive enough to give a general outline of him.

We will not get along ICly and for semi-good but sorta racist reasons.

I'd actually like to know this as well. If so, I've already got another character planned out.

To be honest, I'm importing characters from elsewhere, but at the same time, they both started in DA anyways.

Given that nobody has been accepted yet and it's been open for less than a day, I'm pretty sure it's open and alive. We could all be ghosts though, and that wouldn't be very alive. You never know.

I'm the only accepted person so far. OP is inactive right now, but we don't talk about that.

This is definitely open and alive. Ready your applications and form a line starting at Dutchy's house and ending across the street.

Ah, you were accepted. Sincerest apologies, I must have missed that. I think.
