She leaned towards the Senator. "I was caught up in personal affairs involving the shooting yesterday. If you don't mind, can you tell me what I missed?" She asked.

Christie turned towards his colleague while eating a doughnut.

"I am terribly sorry, Senator, but I was currently in a very important meeting with this erm doughnut. I do apologize. But, nothing much. We will be opening as planned, no delay because of the shooting. Government must function, Giffords would want that."

"That she would of wanted. I'll be sure to pray for her tonight though." She then looked to the doughnut he was eating and felt slightly hungry, as she forgot to have anything to eat for the day. She refocused and proceeded to look at the bill at hand.

"Why is the Director of the FBI the one to push this?" She asked herself, slightly confused. "Ah, doesn't matter." She says as she rereads the bill.

"My issue with the bill is that and I know many both Republican and Democrat will agree that this simply takes away well trained men and women from valuable areas in order to defend us. We already have pretty extensive security as is and the horrible incident which has lead to the proposal of this bill was a fluke at best simply perpetrated by one lucky gunman. This bill allocates well trained men and women who would be best suited for anti-terrorist operation are babysitting us instead." Said Kusmen as he rose out of his seat speaking his mind definitively.

Barton had seemingly lost interest within the topics at hand. After opening a bottle of Perrier and drinking a good portion of the liquid he placed it into an inner pocket of his coat. He stood up, gestured that he needed to make a call and headed outside.

With that, he hung up without further a due and returned to the Senate meeting, after a quick stop to the restroom of course.

Finally, some peace and quite he thought. He dismissed his aides and told them to hold whatever calls and he went to his office, closed the door, sat in his chair, and fell asleep.

"But, we have to decide, are we going to open as planned? I know we decided to do so for Gifford, but know that Khanling has suffered a heart attack..."

"I would like to offer my support to the families of Gabby....Gabrielle Giffords and Senator Khanling during these tough and emotional times" Eugenia said pausing to compose herself before continuing " Despite this tragic event I feel that I must comment on the bill in question. We have a metric ton of federal law enforcement agencies in this country established to protect everything from printers, statues right down to trees. You're telling me that not a single one of them is capable of protecting our legislators from a lone and frankly unstable gunman? A simple response to this crisis would be to better coordinate future political events with local and federal law enforcement agencies to ensure that incidents like these don't happen again. SHIELD should be fighting against international terrorism and criminal gangs not performing a task that can be carried out by existing agencies."
