"And you can thank the polarization of your own damned party for that. Those 'Occupy Democrats' stand to ruin this country and if we don't stop them, we'll end up like the Soviet Union. Then a few decades later, poof, America splits up into fifteen different countries. Or was that the European Union? Mah, why bother. The fact of the matter is, it is your party preventing us from passing anything responsible, Senator."

"No offense Chris, but the way you are stating that makes it seem like my fault. I, personally, am NOT an Occupy Democrat. The majority of my party isn't, if only by a sliver. Occupy Democrats are not the whole party, just like the Nazis were not all Fascists. And just for the record, It was the Soviet Union. The European Union isn't even a single country." Hjen said in a Dark tone, glaring at him. He sat up straight. "And for the record, there are goodness knows how many factions within your own party. None of us within this chamber are to blame, so, while I'm not angry enough to call you what that other Senator called you earlier, I AM quite angry with you for that. That is all. Open up, Chris." He breathed a sigh. These arguments would never end.

"I don't quite understand what you mean by 'open up', Senator. In fact, I feel I likely do. And for the love of Christ we all understand I'm overweight, when you and your fellow Democrats are wrong you don't constantly need to fall back on my weight in order to try and win an argument. I am only the Majority Whip, Senator. I do not determine when the Senate opens, as the Minority Leader I expected you to know that, but as a wanna-be Scandinavian I guess I shouldn't expect that, or much else of you."

Colin sauntered in and looked for Senator Brent. "Um, Senator Brent, can I have a word with you, if it's no trouble." He said quietly.

Words fly across the room as Senators argue over little things. Alijah, tired of the disarray in the Senate decides to leave the room. Quietly, he ascends from his seats and exits the room and to his office.

The Kingdom of Glitter wrote:Senator Christie hurried, as fast as a man of his stature could, towards the Senate Chambers. He pushed the doors open and shouted "Senator Khanling has had a heart attack!"

"My condolences go to him, his family and his loved ones." was all Barton could say as he looked up from his phone, before shutting it off and placing it into his pocket. "I'm still of the opinion that we should proceed tomorrow how Senator Brent suggested, merely alter it to add in a prayer for Khanling's health and a letter for him as well."

"I'm not sure if word has reached the Senate here, but a few reps and I are currently gathering support for a bill that would strike down parts of DOMA. Now, it would pass the House, I'm sure. But here, in these halls, I doubt it would be as probable. Have you heard of it?"

Oh, fantastic, Brent thought, barely containing a smile. I was looking for a miracle to save Christie, since that fatass was sinking no matter how many floaters I threw him... this could be it. If I could just get Bachmann.....

"No," he said, affecting curiosity. "I had not heard of any such bill. What relevant sections is it striking down?"

Please say states, please say states, please say states, he chanted mentally.

Christie had overheard parts of the conversation in regards to DOMA. Christie had mixed feelings in regards to same-sex marriage, however to keep his seat in New Jersey he never spoke out against same-sex marriage.

"With permission from Bachmann, I can start whipping the Republicans into line. This is going up for a vote in the House first, correct?"

Senator Joe Barton returned to his seat, he had returned from the bathroom once again and now awaited for the fun to begin as people began debating over this, that and the other. He had no comments, not yet anyway.

Kuzmen walked back into the chambers after a talk with Mr. Blackburn. Kuzmen took his seat just as Backman announced the opening of the Senate. As he knew this debate was on that new bill regarding DOMA, as he new it the bill was aimed at striking down provisions of DOMA which restricted states rights which was definetly something he could get behind but there was also the issue of wether he did it that he would support gay marriage and that wouldn't go over well. As he sat there he looked on and at the podium.

Senator Barton would ignore the act for now, he had larger fish to fry. This fish, happened to be the largest one in the crazy net that was Congress. Without a word, he walked over to the seat of Chris Christie and leaned in to speak to him.
