Isle of Lithonia wrote:Ok. For this RP, we are going to be using a modified form of Nightkill's powergrid for Elfen High. Also, we are not going to be using dice. Rather, the OP and Co-OPs will personally decide the outcome of your actions based mainly upon your character's powergrid.
For the Basic Powergrid, Blue Demon hosts start with 22 Points overall, with up to 7 points in any category; Yellow Demon hosts start with 19 points overall, with up to 6 points in any category; for all you Black Demon Hosts, you start with 13 points overall, with up to 4 points in any category.
Rewards and Punishments
If any of your character’s strengths listed in your app falls under one of the grid's categories, you may automatically add +1 point to that category. Conversely, if one of your character’s weaknesses falls under one of these categories, you must automatically take away 1 point from that category.
(Note: You may add +1 point to your character’s category even if that category has maxed out the number of points that initially may be allotted. Thus, Roe Wade is a Black Demon Host. He has maxed out his INT category at 4 points. Nevertheless, because one of his strengths is his intelligence, he adds another +1 points to his INT, resulting in 5 points for his INT.)According to his app, Dick Hendricks is physically strong and can take a shit-load of damage. However, he is also said to not be the sharpest tool in the shed. So, in his powergrid, his STR and DUR was initially 4 points each, whereas his INT was only 1 point. As a result of his strengths, he adds +1 points to his STR and DUR, ending up with 5 points each. However, because of his weakness, he takes away 1 point from his INT, ending up with 0 points.
-Example Expanded:
STR: 4+1=5
DUR: 4+1=5
INT: 1-1=0
When your character is attached to his Familiar, Blue Demon hosts' add +5 points to STR, DUR, and SPD; Yellow Demon hosts add +4 to STR, DUR, and SPD; Red Demons add +3 to STR, DUR, and SPD; Black Demons add +2 points to STR, DUR, and SPD.Example: STR: 5 (+5=10 when linked)
However, if any of your Familiar's weaknesses falls under STR, DUR or SPD, your character's points for that category are not increased when they are linked.Example: Dick Hendricks' STR is 5 points. However, his Familiar, Imatalossforanameatthispoint, is physically weak. So, in Dick's STR, he will make a note saying that when he is attached to his demon, his STR is not increased.
-Example Expanded: STR: 5 (+0=5 when linked)

Equivalence Levels:
0 - Mindless
Mindless drone, driven by primal instinct. Or just a vegetable. Either way, you are very, very dumb.
1 – Bare Intelligence
You just have no fucking clue, do ya? The size of your brain is that of a peanut. Forget about multi-tasking, 'cause it's a miracle when you are even able to focus long enough to do anything successfully aside from eat, drink, breath, and take a shit. Basic mathematics is too complex for your puny brain to handle. If you make it past Kindergarten, I'd be sincerely amazed.
2 - Below Average
Easily confused. Multi tasking is near impossible for you, but you could always get lucky. You are just beginning to realize that the world might actually have set rules and patterns. Basic mathematics is as far as you'll make it. You might make it through High school, when you turn sixty-five years of age...
3 - Average
In a word, you are normal. You can multi-task with relative proficiency. Patterns and formulas do not come to you naturally, but when faced with the same event again, you can apply previous knowledge. Getting a high school education is normal enough for people like you, although higher education is probably just out of your reach.
4-5 - Above Average
Productive member of society. You can work diligently in an environment, and can easily figure out logical solutions to most patterns and formulas. You are definitely smart, although you aren't a genius. Still, you could handle higher education.
6 - Philosopher
Hey Aristotle! You are one of those brilliant asses that plays with shit like metaphysics, ethics, and epistemology for fun. You are the type to get a Ph.D. from Harvard, and go on to create your own school of philosophy.
7-10 - Genius
Ok. You are just too fucking smart for your own good. You are so damn smart that you just can't think outside of patterns, formulas, and scientific laws. So, logic, mathematics, science, and philosophy is just too fucking easy. However, you are definitely socially awkward, and are probably an emotionless data-manipulator.
11-13 - Angelic
Now, how can I describe your brilliance? I probably can't. Let's just say that your level of intelligence cannot be properly described by the English language, although its not exactly omniscience either.
14 - Godhood
This is just fucking ridiculous. You don't merely think logically, you fucking create logic. In fact, you have enough brainpower to conceptually create whole new physical and spiritual universes without much effort. This is for when you attack someone physically, with punches and such.
Equivalence Levels:
0 - Pathetic

6-7 - Peak Human/Lesser Demon
You're so buff, you make Chuck Norris envious.
8-10 - Higher Demon
Ok, you are obviously a high-level Demon, 'cause this is impossible for humans to reach on their own.

1-2 - Average
You probably don't work out. You can take a few punches from an average person, but really that's about all. Your stamina is pretty low too. You can run for a few minutes before exhaustion. On a good day.
3 - Fit
Reasonably physically fit but nothing too special. Can take some degree of damage but still vulnerable to everything. Maybe you work out regularly, run some laps sometimes. Your stamina isn't impressive, but it's not underwhelming either.
4-5 - Athlete
Physically fit, tougher than the average person, more resistant to damage but altogether still human. You're very athletic, maybe even at a professional level. Running marathons are no big problem for you and you can take a beating in a fight.
6-7 - Peak Human
Extremely fit. You've reached the peak of human durability. The amount of damage and pain you can withstand is almost superhuman. Almost. Participating in martial arts competitions or marathons would just be unfair. You can function at peak capacity for long amounts of time.
8-10 - Demonic
Is physically tougher than any human, has greater stamina and more resilience. Things like bullets and knives now do only little damage.
11-12 - Blue Demon
Human level strength does nothing, neither do bullets and knives. Body is becoming extremely difficult to be damaged by standard means.

Conventional weapons of any kind have no effect. Only the supernatural can hope to damage you. You run marathons for your warm-up.

1-2 - Untrained
You have no training and little to no experience. You almost lack the ability to throw a decently placed punch and would stand no chance in a hand to hand fight with someone with even a little bit of training.
3 - Trained
You may have taken a few classes in martial arts, or might just have some experience. You would still have a hard time competing with someone who is well trained, though you're no pushover.
4 - Well-Trained
You've either been very well trained in martial arts, or have gained experience from being in many fights in your life time, and know how to fight fairly well compared to the average human.
5-6 - Combat Master
You're a combat specialist who has been taught how to fight very well. You've achieved the highest rank possible in a single martial arts style, or have enjoyed extensive training in several forms of combat.
7 - Sensei
You've mastered at least one or more fighting styles, or maybe you have learned a few styles to supplement the one you've mastered. Even Master Martial Artists would have great difficulty fighting you.
8-9 – Demonic
Your skill is beyond human limits. You've mastered at least one or more fighting styles, or maybe you have learned a few styles to supplement the one you've mastered. Your reaction time far exceeds that of a normal human.
10-11 - SuperDemon
You have mastered multiple forms of combat, and fighting a normal person would be like combat with a still target. Your muscles move faster than your mind, your reaction time is faster than thought and it’s become pretty much unthinkable for a mundane opponent to even get a punch in on you.
12-13 – Lesser Angel
Ok, this is fucking crazy. You now utilize martial arts that are beyond human comprehension, much less replication. Your reaction time is flawless, and only SuperDemons or greater could hope to stand against you. At this point, your body almost just moves on its own in battle, requiring little to no conscious thought.
14-15 - Angel of Death
You are a being of pure combat. You have mastered a crazy amount of supernatural and human combat styles. Your reaction time is near-godly, and you read people like maps finding the flaws in their style like they were obvious. Fighting anyone less than an Angel is little more than a mindless chore for you.
16 – Godhood
This is it. You have reached the pinnacle of martial perfection. You might as well be psychic, that’s how easy you can read most people’s fighting style; you can react to their moves almost before they’ve even made them. Your fighting abilities have grown to the point where there’s no longer really such a thing as ‘styles’. You’re beyond that now.
Only those with Angel of Death skill could even hope to keep up with you in battle.
For your Weapons Proficiency grid, Blue Demon hosts start with 43 points, with up to 9 points per category; Yellow Demon hosts start with 38 points, with up to 8 points per category; Black Demon hosts start with 15 points, with up to 3 points per category.
Rewards
If your character's bio stated that either she or her Demon Familiar received formal military training, add +2 points to handguns, sub-machine guns, assault rifles, and sniper rifles.
If either were involved in street fighting, add +1 to blunt, knives, and handguns.
If either received some form of paramilitary or guerilla training, add +1 points to handguns, sub-machine guns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, non-projectile explosives, and explosive projectiles.
If either was involved in a martial art that utilizes swords or knives, add +1 to swords and knives.
If either received police or SWAT training, add +1 to handguns, blunt, and shotguns.
(Note: If your character qualifies for two or more, overlapping rewards, only one of those rewards may apply to the overlapping categories.)Dick has received both military and paramilitary training. So, he will add +2 points to handguns, sub-machine guns, assault rifles, and sniper rifles, and +1 points to non-projectile explosives, and explosive projectiles.
-Expanded Example:
Handguns: 3+2=5
Sub-machine guns: 2+2=4
Assault Rifles: 4+2=6
Sniper Rifles: 2+2=4
Non-projectile explosives: 2+1=3
Explosive projectiles: 4+1=5
Weapons Proficiency GridBlunt (bats, police batons, crowbar)
Knives
Swords
Handguns
Sub-machine guns
Assault Rifles
Sniper Rifles
Shotguns
Non-projectile explosives (grenades, C4, land mines, etc.)
Explosive projectiles (rpgs, bazookas, etc.)
Equivalence Levels
0 - Incompetent
Its not that you are merely untrained with this weapon. Rather, you just can't fucking figure out what the hell you're supposed to do with the thingy you are holding. Like picking up a sword and saying, "Now where the fuck is the trigger on this thing?!"
1-2 - Untrained
You've probably never used this weapon before, but you at least have a basic understanding of what it does. Your skill with this weapon is worth shit (you might not hit the broadside of a barn from ten feet away), but at least you can use it.
3-4 - Trained
Ok. Now you can wield this weapon decently. Still, you can't do anything amazing.
5-6 - Well-Trained
You've obviously received advanced training, and can pull some pretty cool moves. You're like an LAPD SWAT member with an AR: you're definitely better than the average officer, but nothing too special.
7-8 - Weapon Master/Skilled Marksman
Now we're talking. You definitely know your weapon, inside and out. You can pull some seriously cool shit, like accurately shooting from five-hundred yards away with a rifle on a rather windy day. You're like a Green Beret with an M-16.
9-10 - Navy SEAL
How the hell did you get this good? Seriously, nobody but the most fucking elite soldiers can wield that weapon like you. Some devote their whole fucking lives to that weapon and never get as good as you. You lucky bastard...
11-15 - Terminator
This shouldn't be possible. Your weapon is a mere extension of your own body. You now can pull just about whatever stunts you want with that thing.
16 - Weapon God/Goddess
Honestly, I can't describe just how awesome you are. Somehow, you can make your weapon pull shit that breaks all known limits. You could fucking take a typical .22 handgun and accurately hit a dollar bill from over a thousand yards away. You know what? I bet your skill is supernatural.

If either received police or SWAT training, add +1 to handguns, blunt, and shotguns.
(Note: If your character qualifies for two or more, overlapping rewards, only one of those rewards may apply to the overlapping categories.)Dick has received both military and paramilitary training.

*wipes sweat off brow* Holy shit. I've finally finished.
Anyway, if you all can fill out and post a powergrid for each of your characters, I would be much obliged.
For Charmera, because of Karlson's special training session, I am giving you an extra +1 points to handguns for Laura's Weapon Proficiency Grid.
For everyone else, I expect you to finish and post your character's(s') individual powergrids within the next five days. At the end of five days, any characters that do not have a powergrid filled out will be kicked out of the RP, unless the player can give me a good reason to let them post late.

Also also, what's the difference between a rifle and a shotgun? I looked it up, but I'm still somewhat confused.... *is Canadian and has never been within 2 metres of a real gun*

1) Correct.
2) INT
3) Extremely oversimplified (and slightly incorrect, but don't argue with me about them) definitions: A rifle is a long-barreled firearm which utilizes rifling in its bore. Rifling is a form of spiraled grooves which are made to spin the firearm's projectile, creating higher accuracy.
A shotgun is a long-barreled firearm which does not utilize rifling in its bore. Rather, it is smooth, allowing for certain projectiles to be fired from it (such as buckshot) that are just unfeasible to fire from a rifle, whilst sacrificing the accuracy of a rifle. Also, shotguns tend to fire larger projectiles than rifles.
And I am a third generation Montana Native, and an avid hunter and hobby shooter. So, I have fired a rifle (and own a 30-06), an AR-15 (on burst as well), and several handguns. Needless to say, I do know the difference between a shotgun and a rifle, although its rather difficult to find words to explain it.
