EARTHQUEST
A Turn-based Alien Invasion RP

Introduction

So are you an outcast from some intergalactic empire? Found yourself on the lowest, unclean caste of a crazy cargo cult? Want to make a quick buck or claim major fame and glory among your well-to-do friends? Well, guess what!? World conquest is for you! Sure... you can just be like the billions of other losers pretending to be 'pioneers' rotting away in uninhabited rocks or gas giants; but imagine a life of action, adventure, and wiping/enslaving/eating a pack of primitive inhabitants on a richly laden planet! But where're you going to find one so far out in the Milky Way?

Image

Bingo! Third rock from that bright yellow sun! It looks green and blue, full of water and carbon to harvest and sell on the intergalactic market, plenty of unique lifeforms for all those zookeepers and nature nerds who like to study on animals. Best of all, there appears to be some pink bipedal creatures possessing some form of intelligence. Wonder what you could do with them?... In any case, what're you waiting for!? Hop on in to your massive big-ass spaceship and start carving out your place in the sun! What's the worst that could happen?.

Synopsis

You are a contestant in the latest season of one of the universe's most popular and watched reality holovision shows ever, PlanetQuest, the famed game show which throws would-be invaders into the life of a world conqueror, subjugating natives in a remote planet for a chance to call the shots at your own spot in the universe. Owned by the indomitable holovision network and corporate nation-state, ArcCorp, PlanetQuest is hosted by an eccentric cat-like figure and CEO of ArcCorp, [NAME REDACTED]. With minimal resources and weapons at your disposal and your hilarious exploits watched by billions across the galaxy, your group will be thrown to a long-abandoned resort planet in the one of the most backward fringes of the galaxy, Gaia (Earth). But no group of contestants have ever won on PlanetQuest before, and the bets heavily weighed on your spectacular failure. Can you beat the odds and claim your place in the sun against a pack of primitive apes, or will your hastily mangled bodies be broadcast to the perverse enjoyment of thousands of worlds? You decide...

  • Take control of a member of a group of alien adventurers seeking to become warlords of their own part of the universe.
  • Manage a small base and army (either robots or fellow adventurers) established on the planet and build it up as a frightening horde to conquer Earth
  • Engage in diplomacy with both alien and human factions in an attempt to obtain meagre resources, support and subterfuge.
  • Fight amongst yourselves for the top spot of Generalissimo
  • Do whatever the hell you want in your ill-gotten lands (so long as you don't anger the Mod-Gods) -
    • Build a religion or personality cult your human subjects
    • Clear the land for colonists
    • Enslave humans for labour or pleasure (if you're that huge a sexual deviant)
    • Eat them (they taste like space chicken... I think...)

Gameplay

The RP will play out similar to the Aftermath RP (credits to Esternial for the link). The RP will be turn-based, where players argue for the group to make choices depending on the resource cost and possible outcomes they desire for each turn, which tentatively spans a month. The aim for the group as the whole is obviously to take over Earth, but keep in mind that there can be only one head, and if you're ambitious enough, you can - and should - plot to take control of your motley band with your fellow conspirators, and watch your back for anyone wanting to bump you off. If you're less keen on being the warlord of the planet, you can just place your lot with whoever seems likely to become the head in the end. It's entirely up to you.

Outcomes for both conquest events and player-initiated plots will be determined by RNG rolls by the OP (unless you can suggest a better system), playing as the Gamemaster, which will be RPed out. IC reactions are optional, but recommended (which can play to your advantage in bumping off players you don't want). Charisma actions are the only exceptions to RNG rolls, which only affects non-boss NPCs. Convincing player characters and boss NPCs, on the other hand, requires language skills, in the form of your post.

Traits

Traits determine the probability of a certain individual action turning out successful, as well other miscellaneous abilities such as damage, carrying capacity and negotiation with non-boss characters. Note that these traits are effectively disabled against player characters and boss NPCs under the control of the OP, and would require writing skills to advance your character's aims.
  • Strength (STR) - How powerful is your punch/bite/kick. Boosts melee damage and carrying capacity
  • Toughness (TGH)- How much you can stand poison/disease/fatigue/bruising. Increase survivability. Less prone to illness.
  • Dexterity (DEX) - How fast you are. Boosts speed and dodge chance.
  • Intelligence (INT) - Can you into smart? Boosts research rate and more dialogue choices.
  • Charisma (CHR) - How well can you speak to NPCs (and players)? Relations bonus with factions and more dialogue choices.

Actions

Individual Actions
Individual actions are performed by your characters and may be done multiple times, depending on the situation. Your stats would determine the probability of success, as well as the degree of success an action achieves. Be warned, that your probably of success will be lowered due to the stats of your opponents, depending on their actions, so choose wisely.

Shiori, armed with a titanium blade (light melee weapon), is being attacked by a slime (all stats are 0). What will you do?
  • [ ] - Attack head on (melee) - Chance: 20% (STR - 2 x 1 = 20%)
  • [ ] - Dodge around it for a hit (melee) - Chance: 6.67 + 20 + 23.33 = 50% (STR - 20/3 = 6.67%, DEX - 60/3 = 20%, INT - 70/3 = 23.33%)
  • [ ] - Block - Chance: 40% (TGH - 40% chance of damage reduction)
  • [ ] - Try to flee (instinct or tactics) - Chance: 60% or 65% (DEX - 60% or DEX - 60/2 = 30%, INT - 70/2 = 35%)

*NOTE: Maxed traits do not guarantee 100% success. Rather, the RNG would count such that a 0 roll (which would not be used for non maxed traits) would result in failure.

Faction Actions
Faction actions are performed at the beginning of each turn, and would determine the overall success of your mission. For a faction action to be performed, a consensus among those who responded after the choices are presented must be reached among the group regarding the action. This is determined by a majority vote, in which players may argue for their chosen course of action. If no consensus is reached for an extended period of time, the OP reserves the right to step in and mediate, which may or may not result in the worst course of action possible.

[quote]So here it is... Gaia, Terra or whatever that host called it. Now then... Where to start our new base?

  • [ ] - That icy wilderness up north seems remote enough. Also, that glowing red light down there beckons me... I feel... jolly... (North Pole)
  • [ ] - Let's try that messy green mass in the middle of nowhere. Seems very undeveloped. We might even be able to find natives primitive enough to manipulate. (Central America)
  • [ ] - I want those small patches of dirt in all that H2O! (Pacific)
  • [ ] - Screw hiding! We will go boldly and demand their immediate surrender! Or... ask nicely... (Europe)
  • [ ] - Hmm... Maybe we should try somewhere else... (Suggest a different location)

Most choices will cost money, materials and/or fuel, so be careful when agreeing on a choice.

Research and Miscellaneous Options
Research and miscellaneous options are faction decisions as well, but you can perform more than one research and miscellaneous option at one time. However, you will need a consensus from everyone on what to do before I post the results. You pick a person to work on the research or the action (if required) and if there is a time cost to it, that base cost will be reduced based on that character's stats as highlighted. Getting more people to work on the action will further reduce the time cost by summing up the stats of the researchers, but it will not reduce money or matter expenses.

You may also refuse to do any of the options and just go for the main action (what to do in the turn itself), but being inactive has its own costs.

(credits to Esternial for the update)
Faction Types

  1. Organic
Rather than rely on technology, these aliens primarily employ their own innate abilities to give them an edge in combat. They are often more adaptable than others and utilize Biomass to produce new spawn or organic structures.
  2. Technological
A very broad term ranging from grey aliens wielding advanced plasma blasters to brains encased deep in sheets of armor or simply remote-controlled robotic minions. These aliens do not adapt, and thus do not require Biomass and instead use Materials to construct units and buildings

Resources

Being dirt poor, your group will start out with very minimal resources, with a set number of credits to purchase mercenary or advanced weapons, as well as earthly resources such as fuel and metals.
  1. Biomass (Organic only)
Acquired from pretty much all forms of organic life, it is used by Organic Alien Factions to create new units or buildings.
  2. Materials (Technological only)
Different metals and other materials gathered from human structures, etc. and used by Technological Alien Factions to create new units or buildings.
  3. Fuel
    Charcoal, hydrocarbons, uranium cells, ...
Used by both factions to power buildings, war machines/creatures (reflected in building costs).
  4. Money
Credits: Intergalactic moolah. Use it to buy hi-tech stuff, purchase off-world materials or hire thugs you can't access on Earth (at least early on). Also used for research on alien tech.
Bullions: Shiny precious metals that humans seem oddly attracted to. You won't know how valuable they are initially, but when you do, be sure to use them to buy off native merchants for materials or hire local mercenaries (and maybe bribe politicians in a choice or two).
Can only be used for research on human tech, if you have the relevant local brains on your side.

Units

Each unit counts as a platoon of that one unit and should be roleplayed as such.

[ORGANIC]
Land
Grunts - Cheap and expendable life form, but also easily mutated into improved strains. Costs Biomass.
Mercenaries - More expensive, but less squishy than your standard grunts. Costs Money to hire, but requires Biomass to upgrade.

Hunter (Basic land unit) - Large life form with impressive abilities, requiring Biomass as well as Fuel for its unique metabolism.
Overlord (Advanced land unit) - Hunters beefed up with rare biochemical reagents, acquired with Money.

Air
Vulture (Basic air unit) - Flight-capable life form, similar in strength to the hunter. Costs Fuel and Biomass.
Raptor (Advanced air unit) - Vultures beefed up with rare biochemical reagents, acquired with Money.

Sea
Hydra (Basic naval unit) - Proper research must be conducted before life can be sustained in Earth's oceans. Costs both Biomass and Fuel.
Leviathan (Advanced naval unit) - Same as Hydra, but once again beefed up with expensive biochemical agents.

[TECHNOLOGICAL]
Land
Grunts - Cheap and expendable alien or drone, but also with easily upgradable tech. Costs Materials.
Mercenaries - More expensive, but less squishy than your standard grunts. Costs Money to hire, but requires Materials to upgrade.

Main Combat Vehicle (Basic land unit) - Powerful vehicle, easy to control by your grunts or simply remote controlled. Costs Materials and Fuel
Demolisher (Advanced land unit) - More powerful than the MCV, but with controls that require an expert to pilot, which costs Money.

Air
Fighter (Basic air unit) - Unmanned/manned air combat vehicle. Costs Fuel and Materials.
Interceptor (Advanced air unit) - Very agile and powerful air combat vehicles. Requires an ace pilot to operate.

Sea
Destroyer (Basic naval unit) - Naval vessel, either manned or unmanned. Costs Fuel and Materials.
Battlecruiser (Advanced naval unit) - Very powerful naval vessel. Requires a capable crew to operate.

Technology

At the start of the RP, your group will begin with only the most basic infantry and weapons to begin your takeover of Earth. As such, you will need to your way up the technology ladder to upgrade your military capabilities, spending credits to fund research on alien research. In addition, given the vast distances between Earth and any weapons depot open for purchase, you may also spend bullions on more mundane human weapons like a cannon or a rifle. While likely not as strong or flashy as alien technology, it would help even the odds in your favour at a more reasonable cost.

Factions

More information will be available as the IC progress... Note that until a specific human faction is discovered, a player's character cannot express knowledge of it. Such action is liable for a warning by the OP, which may result in his or her expulsion from the RP. All alien factions are assumed to be 'discovered' and may be interacted from the start of the RP.

Aliens

ArcCorp

  • CEO: 'Boss'
  • Important Characters: Neko-mé (Host of PlanetQuest), Lilith (Security Director)
The brains behind the hit game show PlanetQuest, ArcCorp is famed for its creation and subsequent monopoly over the interstellar holovision industry. Known for its ruthless hostile takeovers of debt-ridden planets to fund the universe's ever-growing lust for mindless entertainment, ArcCorp's current headquarters in Alpha Centauri has often come under constant protests and riots by activists berating its draconian practices. PlanetQuest, in particular, is a serious issue of contention, as sentient rights advocates lambast its trivialization of conflict and suffering for the viewing pleasure of its unsavoury audience. Despite this, ArcCorp continues its programming of bloodletting media without fail, pushing PlanetQuest to its tenth season with Earth as its newest target.

Friends of the Stars

  • Leader: TBA
    Important Characters: TBA
Animal-loving hippies with a fanatical belief in the rights of primitive intelligent species, Friends of the Stars is a strong lobby in the interstellar community in the dismantling of ArcCorp's menu of gladiatorial-style entertainment. Vocal about the media giant's use of rare, endangered animal species, bottom-rung members of society, and other unwitting participants in its gruesome feature of blood sport, Friends of the Stars have, of late, even resorted to eco-terrorism to get their way, disrupting live shows with bombings, shootings and civil disobedience. Of all the shows blacklisted by the group, PlanetQuest lies right on top for its despicable depiction of war as entertainment and its horrific consequences to its unwitting populations. To that end, they would even aid natives in boosting their technology in surviving against ArcCorp's contingent of 'stage clowns' (you), and attempting to coerce the contestants to revolt against the cameras. For now, however, ArcCorp's legal team had firmly pinned down the Friends of the Stars as a terrorist cell, with proceedings due to be finalized during PlanetQuest's tenth season. But it would not be likely that these hippies would give up trying to wreck your dream of world conquest. Perhaps killing a few of them might convince the host to throw you a bone or two...

Humans

NATO - EPIC
North Atlantic Treaty Organization - Extraterrestrial and Paranormal Intelligence Command
Image

The paranormal arm of the US-led North Atlantic Treaty Organization, EPIC, as the unit is egotistically called, is tasked with intelligence gathering and counter-espionage in the field of paranormal activity. Modelled after the OSS' Coyote and SIS' Merlin units, EPIC has been caught in a vicious covert war against the Soviet-led 'Serp'. Led by the experienced but incredibly jaded Director John Pliskin, the unit found itself hard pressed to fend off Serp cells and their allies across the world. While initial estimates had placed EPIC ahead of paranormal research, the appearance of Soviet espers as advisers to South American communist guerrillas drastically broke down such optimism. Now pressed to produce results and flooded with black budget funding to combat Serp's growing influence, EPIC seemed set for a deadly standoff. Little did they expect that their little blue planet was about to have some unexpected visitors.

  • Secretary: Generalmajor (Major General) Ulrika Löwe (DDR)

    • Mládshiy Leytenánt (Junior Lieutenant) 'Snegurochka' (SOV)
    • Mládshiy Leytenánt (Junior Lieutenant) Alyiona Khersonova/Helen Chersonesidis (SOV)
    • Stabsfeldwebel (Master Sergeant) Arno Männlichen (DDR)

The successor organization to the NKVD's Molot (Russian: Hammer) Psychic Operations Unit, Serp (Russian: Sickle) had gained a lot from the former's experience in combating Ahnenerbe and their occultist magic in World War II. By comparison to the American Coyote and British Merlin units, Molot had made off with the bulk of Ahnenerbe's research. As a result, at its foundation, Serp was far more ahead in paranormal research than what Stalin had previously let on. On the onset of the Cold War, Serp was quick to take advantage of immense discontent in the Third World over the old imperial powers, planting agents deep within the civilian population, even within the United States itself. Gifted with years of knowledge and training since birth, Serp's espers posed a serious threat to EPIC's ongoing struggle to stem the spread of communism throughout the world. However, unknown to EPIC and their American taskmasters, Serp's prowess had already started to wane with depleting funds and depletion of manpower from an increasingly inept bureaucracy. With incredible emphasis, funds and effort placed into the breeding and training of artificially-born espers, Serp was increasingly overstretched by EPIC's superior numbers and state funding. With their capitalist adversaries fast catching up in terms of paranormal research, it was little wonder the Politburo was willing to throw in one of the Stasi's top agents, Ulrika Loewe, to revive the agency. But even they seem oblivious of what's to come, as strangers from the cosmos are set to land.

Israel - Shlomo/שְׁלֹמֹה
Paranormal Defence Commission of the State of Israel
Image

  • Secretary: CLASSIFIED
  • Headquarters: Tel Megiddo, Northern District, Israel
  • Important Characters:
    • CLASSIFIED

Named after the magician-king Solomon of Israel, Solomon was formed in 1950 as an autonomous division of the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad. Tasked with the performance of Psi-Ops against the Semitic state's hostile Muslim neighbours, much of Solomon's knowledge on psionics was ironically drawn from Ahnenerbe, via the kidnapping and interrogation of fugitive SS agents or with the help of EPIC. However, with EPIC's lack of progress in the field, Solomon began pursuing an independent course, speeding up psionic research and training at an incredible pace and combining them with their elite military training. By the end of the Six Day War in 1967, the Serp-trained esper corps of the Arab states were decisively wiped out by Solomon. Disabling and destroying virtually all their psionic research facilities and training camps, the Israelis had effectively sent twenty years worth of Serp's aid to their Middle Eastern allies down the drain. Consequently, some senior officers in Serp began considering Solomon as a far greater threat to the agency than even EPIC itself, and their counterparts in EPIC, including their sponsors, began lobbying for greater intelligence sharing with Solomon.

Despite its far smaller size compared to EPIC and Serp, Solomon's agents proved to be an equal to any EPIC or Serp esper, arguably better. Driven by a sole desire to retain a homeland in a region that wanted them out, Solomon had lived up to its reputation as the paranormal arm of Israeli intelligence. For the men and women serving in utmost secrecy in this unknown frontier, there were still many doubts regarding the kind of world they had stepped into. But one matter left none in their minds. Failure was not an option, and any one mistake would set Israel and its people closer to destruction.

China - Qì Shì Hóng Wèibīng (气式红卫兵)
Energy-type Red Guards
Image

  • Commander: Several
  • Headquarters: Yinxu, Anyang, Henan Province, People's Republic of China/殷墟,安阳,河南省,中华人民共和国
  • Important Characters:
    • CLASSIFIED

Formed amidst the backdrop of the Cultural Revolution, the Qi-type Red Guards are mostly radicalized students with the tiniest a hint of 'Qi', mystical energy used by the pugilists of old to duel in a show of martial prowess. Lacking a central organization, training or command, their vast numbers proved to be of little advantage against the seasoned, highly trained agents of the psionic agencies. This makes them easy targets for the 'revisionist' Serp, which sought to pull China back into the fold following the Sino-Soviet spat twenty years ago. Any hopes of EPIC assistance remained stymied by the US' continuing support of Taiwan. All in all, barring a rare, exceptional pugilist trained in the martial arts, human waves appear the only decent, and most costly tactic in dealing with any esper.

Nazi Remnants - Werwolf
National Socialist Government-in-exile
Image

  • Führer: CLASSIFIED
  • Headquarters: ??????????? crater, Oceanus Procellarum, Near Side of Luna
  • Important Characters:
    • CLASSIFIED

Formed by a group of young dissatisfied SS soldiers in Norway, its members proudly took on the name of Joseph Goebbels' alleged underground Nazi resistance with the hopes of restoring their dream of Aryan supremacy. However, since their escape and exodus at the end of World War II, using a mysterious, purportedly mystical way gate in Trondheim, Werwolf have absolutely no chance of restoring the hated Third Reich. Undermanned, under-equipped and hopelessly outmatched, the ranks of the old SS were gradually replaced by children from those in the moon base and of other fugitive SS soldiers using a less functional Incan-style way gate in Argentina. In fact, according to EPIC and Serp intelligence reports from constant surveillance by its spies on the Moon, Werwolf barely numbered a hundred personnel, all of whom lacked the fanaticism and experience that the SS had been famed for. In fact, after the Apollo landings, fears of a strike by Coyote (which had in fact been succeeded by EPIC), caused mass desertions among Werwolf, forcing the leadership to demolish the Argentinian way gate as well. Now, trapped on the Moon with no hope of escape or survival, it appeared obvious that any threat of a resurgent Fourth Reich was completely dead. But something else was about to squat on their last bastion of National Socialism, and it would not be pretty at all...

Applications

Players may only field one character at any point of time. If a character has died in the course of the IC, his player is not allowed to send another. He may still participate in discussion in the RP, post side stories, or control human factions if the OP allows, but he would no longer be allowed to reenter EarthQuest as an alien contestant.

Character Information (Compulsory)
Name: Ilaui
Age: unknown, but suspected to be as old as the remaining eight, who are reported to be at least a million years old.
Species (must not be full Homo Sapien): Nerosa Ancient
Appearance (picture link is preferred): http://th03.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i/2 ... 52hzf1.jpg

Instead of glowing blue, Ilaui glows a unnatural black light that seems sucks away the light around it.

Statistics Description (25 points to dispense, will be automatically assigned if blank)
Speciality (e.g. Navigation, Research, Ship/Mech/Plane Piloting):
Basic Statistics
[list][*]Strength: /10 [2/10]
[*]Toughness: /10 [10/10]
[*]Dexterity: /10 [3/10
[*]Intelligence: /10 [7/10]
[*]Charisma: /10 [3/ 10]
Items (up to three):
-Nerosa Nervous Channels: Allows the outer body to project energy shields to project standard energy weapon fire, and also harden to withstand most small arms fire.

-Nerosa Combat Channels (Melee): Allows Ilaui to create a heavy type longsword, that can be electrified for extra damage. This weapon can be used much more often then her ranged channels, but still drains from her outer body, and will disipate it if used to much.

-Nerosa Combat Channels (Ranged): Allows Ilaui to fire medium ranged blasts of energy using her own power. This however drains her ability to block energy based attacks and if to much is used her outer body will dissipate and leave her vulnerable inner body in the open and easy to destroy.

Physical Description (Optional)
Height: 2.34 meters tall
Weight: 50 pounds
Likes: certain electrical fields (ones that present calming images to her like certain television shows or things), training her skills, gaining power, consuming other sources energy.
Dislikes: Her brothers and sisters, most organic races, Tazers, electrical fences, most synthetic races, losing, other Nerosa
Personality: Ilaui is a highly aggressive, dominant person who is at her most comfortable when in a solitary leader role. She is not above killing those close to her, even loved family members, but actively takes intense pleasure from the act itself. It holds out to be her most favorite experience, that she builds up to with meticulous planning and preparation to make it as sweet and delightful as possible.

In combat, Ilaui is fierce and will try to stay on the offensive as much as possible, but is intelligent enough to make needed decisions in combat. She also enjoys manipulating people into doing her bidding using her intelligence.

History (Compulsory)
Bios: Originally born as the tenth ancient of the Nerosa, she was created as the most combat and aggressive Nerosa. When they were released from the tethers of their creators, she was more then willing to act as the siblings guardian. However, as millennium passed on and on, her interest in defending her family waned and her desire to cause pain due to her purpose grew. This culminated in her killing of the ninth ancient and absorbing his energy as her own. She would've continued her rampage if the ancients had not managed to take her down and seal her away for as long as they could.

Though, none of the ancients could bring themselves to kill their lost sister, they knew she could never be controlled. So they decided to accomplish something they thought impossible for millennia, and sate her blood lust. they pray her time on earth will accomplish just this, if not they'll have to destroy their dearest sister.

Tower of the Eight, Capital planet Unathia

Waves of light and electricity crashed along the surface of a smoothed table, filling the room with a soft glow of light that would barely provide any form of vision for one with eyes. However, the Nerosa who stood around the table stared at the display, and what they saw was a pulsing water like circle the showed the entirety of Nerosen space. Long lists of statistics could be seen by the Nerosa, each giving different statistics and figures for all the things they needed to consider for the expansion of their family.

One Nerosa glowed with happiness, his hue red and his Outer body standing 7 feet tall "Each time i look upon this display, i feel a sense of...completion..." he said, looking to his brothers and sisters that shared the room with him. "Don't you agree my siblings?" He asked, looking at the seven other Nerosa that were in the room, each one glowing their own unique color.

Another Nerosa, a male standing five and a half feet and glowing a dull violet, nodded in agreement "Yes Brother i do. We have come far, farther maybe then our creators could have possibly dreamed possible by our own strength."

A female stood, glowing a bright orange " I must disagree brothers, for until this galaxy is taken into the family, i will never be complete. We deserve every star for our children to grow." She said rather harshly, her hand touching a point on the table, which caused the display to zoom in for the Nerosa to a standing fleet finishing construction on a Channel gate.

A channel gate was a massive independent space station that, when completed, was massive. It used a many large and powerful Mega-coils to powers of a thin field of energy that, when passed through by a Nerosen ship, powered a ship with enough energy to send it through space at Superluminal speeds. The gate took long to build, and could only fire in a single direction, but was very effective for short ranged jumps or for quickly sending defensive fleet to Nerosen controlled space.

The female spoke " Channel gate Alpha is nearly completed, and soon we'll be ready to send the scouting fleet ahead, followed closely by the construction fleet with supplies to create a channel gate to allow ships to return to our space. As such, i must request again, Brothers and sisters, that we send the First Assault fleet with them, incase of trouble. You've ignored my requests every time before, but now you must agree with me that with all the chatter coming from outside our borders, we must be prepared for the worst." She said, looking to her siblings with glowing frustration. Inila was always the most aggressive and paranoid of the Eight, and her repeated call for armed escorts had begun to grow annoying.

Yuin, the smallest brother, spoke against Inila "Sister, we have no legitimate reason to fear these other life forms. They show little hostility to others and we've seen they are prone for peaceful diplomatic encounters. An armed fleet showing up near their space would send a very bad example to them. They could see us as hostile." Yuin said, always peaceful and worried of outward appearances.

A deep resonating growl came from another corner of the table, a Nerosa of dark green stood from his seat, standing closer to eight feet the seven. His talking was perceived to the Nerosa as deep and more impactful signals of energy, while a human would hear low thunder "These creatures are mere flesh and water. They should be swept away for the family, not met with peace. Biological life nearly caused our demise, we must end them now before it can occur again." He said, the room shaking.

The other siblings grew quiet, an obvious fear of their largest brother clear. However, a small chuckle broke through the silence. Everyone stared and saw their sister, Ioyu, glowing a calming blue " Oh Nooru, always so angry. Calm yourself, we are all here to listen." She said, her tone rather calm and happy compared to the stress of the others. Nooru stood still, then sat down, calming his mind. " Now, i do understand your opinions, but the fact of the matter is, we are not strong enough to take on another empire, nor can we afford the lives that would be lost during such an event. So, i say we prepare ourselves an attack fleet that, should hostility be met, can be quickly sent out and used to strike hard and first, should war be declared." Ioyu said, looking at the circle. After some time, they all nodded in agreement, and the order was sent.

"So begins our next cycle of expansion." they all spoke in the end, staring at the screen as the scout fleet began to close towards the Channel gate.

Near Alpha Channel gate, within lead scout ship "Nooru's wrath"

"Commander, all ships reporting ready in all stations. Requesting orders." said a young Nerosa, looking up to the commander.

Commander Huen sat at his station, looking apart the massive fieled of energy that the Gate produced. he had seen many, but each time was an experience he cherished. " Inform all ships to proceed through the gate, then rally at the predetermined coordinates as soon as jump is complete." He said, listening as the communications officer sent the order. He couldn't feel the ship move, but he saw the gentle waves of energy flow through the ship as it moved forward. He saw in the center of the command room the Fleet communication display, which showed him the images of his fleet and their relative location to him and his ship, as well as the Channel gate the were racing towards. " Open a fleet wide channel." he said, sitting back as it was done. "To all ships, as you know, this will be the 3rd Scouting fleets eight journey out into unknown space. I trust each and everyone of you to perform your duties as best as you can, and to honor the Eight on this date. For the Family." he spoke, receiving a dozen voices repeating " For the family" through the Channel before closing.

The commander then nodded to the navigators, and sat back as his ship went through the Gate, followed by twelve other light star ships, ready to explore and find new territory and life.

Species Name: Mantids
Scientific Name (Optional): Vestis scutum
Homeworld/Origin: Stseki (Transliteration)
Distribution: All over the place as a tiny minority, usually on ships and spacestations of questionable legality
Picture (if any):
*Approximate*
There are none of the glowy "bulbs", the neck is not as long and is not as forward, and then the colors are as described in the description. There are three fingers and one highly-articulate thumb on each hand.

Description: Warning: Long description ahead.
Upbringing: In a star system far, far away, there is a planet. The sun constantly blasts radiation of all kinds and would kill most life. It is a terrible place to live and is uninhabitable for most forms of life. Except, of course, for those that specifically evolved on this planet. These "mantids" have an exoskeleton specifically for keeping all radiation out. The planet also has large amounts of carbon monoxide and dioxide in addition to its oxygen levels. This inhospitable planet is a dog-eat-dog world, and the mantids evolved for it in both body and mind. Mantids tend to form a bond to whatever group they are raised by, but after this short period in life, they're selfish in regards to everyone/thing else. This can make for some powerful nationalism, strong clan loyalty, or some serious intrigue.

Body: The body of these creatures is tough in some senses, but fragile in others. Their exoskeleton makes them nigh-immune to radiation and psionics, resistant to lasers, but horridly vulnerable to bullets and other ballistic weapons. A medium-to-large bullet's killing-power is just about multiplied, due to "bone" fragments doing damage. If a mantid grows up in space, like many do nowadays, their exoskeleton is a bit weaker as well and, by extension, the muscles. The bodies of these creatures usually range in color from grey, to tan, to olive green. The colors are almost always pretty unsaturated, save for rare genetic diseases. The color of the mantid's chitin is uniform throughout the whole body, but the 'back' of the mantid is generally a little bit darker than the front. The eyes look relatively human, but the "skin" of the eyelids and the rest of the socket has a moist glistening to it along with looking scaly, and the color being about the same as the "chitin" of the mantid. There are thin plates inside of the "skin", so as to better shield the mantid from the extreme radiation permeating from everything on their homeworld. There is no visible sclera, which is normal for most animals as it is an evolution for nonverbal communication in humans. The iris that envelops all of the visible eyeball is a dark purple color, and the pupil (still black) is slit in the manner of a cat or snake. The hands have three fingers each, and a highly-articulate thumb that can move around to function as a fourth finger or as a regular thumb.

Internal Organs: They possess hemerythrin in their blood instead of hemoglobin, so the blood is magenta-ish colored. Hemoglobin-using life would not be able to survive on their homeworld due to the carbon monoxide levels, but hemerythrin-using life would be able to ignore it as long as it didn't remove the oxygen. This blood also makes the muscles a purple-ish color. As far as organs go, it is run-of-the-mill, but with some organs split into multiple specialized organs (spleen being of note) for further efficiency at the cost of being more complex. The lungs are notably different, though. The lungs are still like land vertebrates in that they breathe through the mouth and such, but the internal structure is alien. Instead of two "bags", it's like a bunch of wires spreading through the "chest" and instead of one big muscle (diaphragm), it's muscles enveloping large amounts of the tubes. This allows oxygen to get to the organs directly while also preventing things like punctured lungs, but the downside is that inhaled poisons will reach the organs much faster. The vocal cords are relatively similar to a humans, but are able to speak and create noise ingressively as effectively as they can exgressively. Most cultures speak most words exgressively, speaking while exhaling. Some cultures (like Scandanavians with their affirmatives) speak some words ingressively, speaking while inhaling. Speaking while inhaling for humans sounds a bit odd and humans cannot speak/sing/etc. with perfect pitch while speaking ingressively. The purpose of this evolution in the mantids is so that conversations/speech/argument can continue seamlessly without speaker training. Mantids also usually have a bit of trouble pronouncing some sounds and have an easier time producing others, some even being unique to the mantid language. Translator devices or other speaking-aids are common among mantids in common society, so they can pronounce all the sounds and communicate properly.

Exoskeleton: The exoskeleton is not like human bone, which is rigid like coral. The mantids' pseudo-chitin is mildly flexible, like sheet metal. If you pushed really hard it would bend a bit, but then go back to place after the pressure was removed. It has a similar texture to that of a fingernail. Fistfighting probably would do less damage than normal, but bullets would, as previously stated, have their damage increased notably. Good thing ballistic weapons aren't common anymore, right? RIGHT? Anyways, lasers would stop (due to the radiation-shielding bit) at the pseudo-chitin and just damage it, unless the laser hit a hole in the chitin that's already there, likely by a previous laser blast. Plasma weapons would perform normally.

Claws/legs: The points of the fingers and legs are not that sharp at all, and it would take some good strength or a long running start in order to pierce a human gut with them. Legs are stronger than arms, so the legs would still be able to pierce some ribcages or squishy areas, but only as a "stomp" and not as a light kick. The form of the legs also prevents any good running starts. To get a feel of this, try running while leaning backwards as far as you can. However, momentum can be picked up if desired (up to normal human running speed), but smooth surfaces such as tile or metal will be just about impossible to abruptly stop on, leading to a more-than-likely skid. Dirt or other soft materials will allow a deadstop, and the roughness of concrete will allow about an average ability to stop. While running is a bit impeded, the ability to move is fully multi-directional so running backwards or sideways is just as easy as going forwards, disregarding the obvious lack of vision in the back of the head.

Character Information (Compulsory)
Name: Hrank [no family name]
*pronounciation stuff in spoilers
Hrank is pronounced like "her-rah-nk" (with it being one syllable), not "raynk" as in "rank and file".

Age: Early 30's in terms of biological age/maturity compared to humans. In terms of Terran solar years, somewhere in the late 40's.
Species (must not be full Homo Sapien): Vestis scutum, or more commonly known as the "mantids"
Appearance (picture link is preferred):
BODY: His kind looks similar to the chrysalid from XCOM.(pic) (pic)(pic)
However, the mantids' "abdomen" is a bit larger and bigger in the back. There are no glowing bulbs on mantids.

The mantids still have an exoskeleton.

The neck is shorter and more upright, but the head is still sticking out and leaning forwards. The mandibles are shorter.

The eyes do not glow as in the picture. The "eyeballs" are also a faded purple with a camouflage-like pattern on them, with the "pupil" being slit like that of a cat or snake. The entirety of the visible non-pupil area is the camo-like iris, with the sclera not visible. Humans' visible sclera is actually rare in nature, with most animals not having this trait. It's likely an evolution in humans for nonverbal communication.

The mantids have four hand digits, but the top digit functions as a thumb that is highly articulate, and can rotate to function as a fourth finger/claw or a thumb. The alien digits will make operating human-oriented weapons such as guns much more difficult to operate, however keyboards will be easy as normal. The weapons problem goes both ways, as human hands (and aliens with similar hands) will have problems operating weapons made for mantids. In terms of piercing ability, the points of the fingers/legs would only be able to pierce a human's torso if going high speed. Hrank lacks the strength to penetrate a human with his finger-claws, but legs are stronger than arms so if he got into an opportune position it would be very possible to penetrate with his legs via a good stomp as a finishing move. This is presuming they lack any kind of protection aside from a little bit of clothing, of course. Any armor, and no chance at all for our little bug here.

The mantids' blood uses hemerythrin and not hemoglobin, so their blood is a magenta-ish color instead of red. The muscles are also a dark shade of purple instead of red/brown due to this.

Hrank is personally has a very unsaturated green body, somewhere between olive green and grey. The back is a bit darker than the rest of the body, but other than that, color is pretty much uniform throughout the whole exoskeleton.

CLOTHING: Hrank wears what is basically a set of dark yellow, four-legged, loose, and side-less pants; a light-blue, long-sleeve shirt; an open, dark-grey coat that goes down to his waist; a cheap grey "Crocodile Dundee" hat with random white powder stains; and finally, a mask. The mask doesn't look fancy at all and projects quite a bit infront of the rest of the head, fully covering the mandibles. The mask is dark grey, almost black. The mask has a tiny knob on the side, along with a small slot that contains a reel with a thin cable and jack.

He also has a wrist-mounted stungun on his forearm, but it's up his sleeve and hidden. It looks somewhat like a fancy Rolex with some basic screens. It is firmly in place on his forearm and will not move without being detached.

Statistics Description (25 points to dispense, will be automatically assigned if blank)
Speciality (e.g. Navigation, Research, Ship/Mech/Plane Piloting): Ingenuity and manipulation
Basic Statistics
  • Strength: 1/10
  • Toughness: 3/10
  • Dexterity: 3/10
  • Intelligence: 9/10
  • Charisma: 9/10
Items (up to three):
Stungun
A rechargeable (solar or plug-in) wrist-mounted stungun that fires bursts of energy like a shotgun, stunning those hit. It fires from underneath the wrist. The battery will store up to ten shots before being empty, requiring about an hour in direct sunlight to be fully charged again, or being plugged into a source of electricity. There are about fifteen "pellets" in a burst, with each pellet paralyzing the target for about two minutes, leaving them only able to move lips a little bit, breath lightly, blink, and other tiny movements. The stunning timelength stacks with the amount of pellets hitting, so it would add up to a half-hour at point-blank. The stungun is fully unable to do any physical damage at all. The stungun will have a scrambling effect if it directly hits an electrical component, and will still stun robotic beings. Other electrically-reliant items and life are stunned or otherwise negatively affected as well. It can be blocked by wearing thick insulation such as tires, but simple clothing or ballistic vests will not stop the energy bolts if they aren't specifically for blocking electricity.
Mask
The mask functions as both a translator/speaker and a breathing mask, which filter/recycles the air (or provides it, if it's time for space and there's an air tank plugged in) for him. The mask lacks any wireless functionality, and require to be plugged-in in order to have its translator settings and programming modified. The speaker can be adjusted for volume on-the-fly with a tiny knob on the side of the mask. The wire that can be pulled from the side of the mask through a slot is used to plug into technology in order to modify the settings. The mask is pretty hardy and suitable for combat, but would not be able to take high-caliber rounds dead-on at pointblank. The mask's breathing functionality works somewhat like a rebreather, and takes in the "good" gases while pushing out the "bad" gasses. Gases identified as neutral will be ignored and accumulate in the mask, such as carbon monoxide and nitrogen.

Physical Description (Optional)
Height: 1.85m / 6'1" casual standing height.
Weight: 90kg / 198lb
Likes: Battle/war/fighting, charlatanry, sweet drinks, feeling of mental superiority, games, technology/science, showing-off, meats
Dislikes: Mating/intercourse/etc., intoxicants (drugs/alcohol), gambling for the sake of gambling with real stakes("owe me a beer" is fine, "owe me a thousand bucks" is not), idiocy/ignorance, bitter foods/drinks.
Personality:
He considers himself better than almost everyone, and enjoys showing off his skills or abilities. He looks down upon sex and other intoxicants as being for weaklings and fools and such, but views violence as a fun and natural exercise of nature. He is a trickster by nature, and regularly makes people angry by him being a sarcastic and mocking little ----. He's very much a weakling, and considers strength to pretty useless, respecting cleverness in a fight more than brute force. He sometimes has a tendency to bite off more than he can chew when it comes to angering the wrong individual, but this happens almost exclusively with "that guy that could kill him with a flick" instead of "that guy that could get him arrested" or other political/authority powers. He's a show-off, not an idiot. He tends to speak relatively formally due to his perceived superiority, but not have cultural mannerisms associated with upperclassmen of nations due to being of extremely low birth. He is rational and manipulative, even though he tends to be act frivolous and annoy people.

History (Compulsory)
Bios:
With unknown parents (hobo egg), he was raised in the dregs of society, primarily by himself. He mostly worked on ships and stations in space, eventually entering piracy like many others of his war-like species. He had always been a little butthead, but being outside the law only let him be more of a self-righteous charlatan than he already was. He viewed his resistance of the temptation of drugs and prostitutes and other dregs' pleasures to be a point of pride, reinforcing his personality's position. He moved between a few different pirate crews, serving as random jobs such as a communications guy, engineer, or a medical assistant. Eventually he managed to be a pirate captain by weaving his way up the ranks and inheriting the 'throne' from the previous captain after he died of combat injuries. He did a good job for about a month, but unfortunately the sector's powers-that-be had enough of the pirate-infested system and cleared it out with plenty of warships. As there's no sense in getting blown up by the giant fleet surrounding the whole system, Hrank chose to be a little prick and go in peacefully, getting a pardon for revealing the hideouts of a few of the pirate hideouts of those he didn't like. Left destitute and shipless with a couple dozen homeless people angry about losing their freedom, why not sign up for his favorite gameshow ever created? He's just about a fanboy just like countless trillions of other fans, and is eager to join in the fun. Onwards, to Gaia and glory!

Additional Information (Optional):
He does not breath Earth's atmosphere. It's not poisonous to him, but he won't be getting his required oxygen levels. He'll feel dizzy in Earth's air, and eventually pass out after about twenty minutes and die at half-hour mark. His blood uses hemerythrin, so he's just about immune to carbon monoxide poisoning, which is good because the mantid homeworld has a lot of the stuff. Due to the CO levels in his air supply, anyone else breathing his preferred air will pass out after 2-3 breathes and die. If they manage to get out before dying, they'll suffer headaches, nausea, and dizziness lasting a few hours. Carbon monoxide poisoning is a serious issue!

His race evolved on a planet constantly blasted with lethal levels of radiation of all kinds, so the exoskeleton blocks radiation and psionics almost completely. Psionics aren't even going to be able to whisper or mindread at all, while radiation could be toughed out to extremes humans can't even be comprehended to handle. 3-6 grays of gamma radiation will kill a human relatively fast. Up until about 1300 grays, mantids are completely unaffected. Between 1300 and 1900, they will get sick. At around 1500 they will get cancer, and at around 1900 they will die. Cockroaches take about 900 grays before dying, fruit flies can take 1700, and some ants can take around 2200.[1] Lasers will collide with his exoskeleton and not be able to go further unless it's hitting a hole that's already present, possibly from already being blasted with lasers burning holes in the skeleton. Bullets, however, will be EXTREMELY effective due to always breaking the bone when hitting.

If he has air, he'll be able to be in space without a suit, although it would be highly unpleasant and he'd only be able to last an hour or two before a very, VERY painful death happened.

OOC Information (Compulsory for non-invitees)
RP Example:
Warning: A bit bloody.
Mick got out of the bug-infested mattress and rubbed his eyes to get the pressure under his eyes to lessen. He looked out of the curtains of the RV, looking out to the road and desert, nothing bigger than a dead bush in sight. He sat down in a cheap lawnchair next to his bed and ran his hand through his hair. His tried to adjust his eyes back to the dimness of his bedroom, if you could really call it a room. Mick sighed, "Ugh... what the Hell did I do last night...? ...My f__kin' 'ead..." He looked over on the other side of the room at a female corpse, bloodied and unrecognizable. Well, he guessed it used to be a female, anyways. "Oh, right... that." He groggily got out of his chair and put on his clothes.

After getting dressed, he unlocked his car outside and took the RV's beers from the fridge and loaded them into his own vehicle. Done pillaging, he grabbed the kerosene, gasoline, and everything else labelled "flammable" in the RV and coated the scene with the liquids. Stepping outside and taking out a cigarette and a matchbox from his car, Mick lit up one of his cheap cigarettes and looked at his match. "I love my damn job." He lightly tossed the match and watched as the RV quickly flowed into its own inferno. He cracked open a beer and savored the moment. The wind direction changed, causing the smoke and such to blow towards him and his car. "OW SHIT EYES CHEMICALY SMOKE OW" He quickly shuffled into his car and slammed the door, spilling a bit of his beer in the rush. He rubbed his eyes again, to clear the sting of the chemicals. He leaned back and sighed, putting the beer can into his cupholder, and drove off. Mick turned on the radio and leaned back into his seat as he sped off . "♪On the road again~♪..."

Everyone works for the government, and buys from the government, obsoleting taxes as the money does not leave the country, save for government buying of items of foreign nations. Military is advanced but unconventional, focusing on infantry and psychological warfare. Primary method of national income is export of armaments and other war-related items.

    OOC Information (Compulsory for non-invitees)
    RP Example:

Seems good. Accepted. Just a note, though. You should refrain from using coloured texts for dialogue. It's incredibly agitating for the eyes.

Psionics aren't even going to be able to whisper or mindread at all, and radiation would need to be above 80000 rems in order to start getting through. Normal cockroaches take about 67500 rems before dying, while German cockroaches take about 100000. Humans take a puny 800 before dying, but 5 is perfectly safe. Lasers will collide with his exoskeleton and not be able to go further unless it's hitting a hole that's already present, possibly from already being blasted with lasers burning holes in the skeleton. Bullets, however, will be EXTREMELY effective due to always breaking the bone when hitting.

If he has air, he'll be able to be in space without a suit, although it would be highly unpleasant and he'd only be able to last an hour or two before a very, VERY painful death happened.

Character Information (Compulsory)
Name: MoMo-chan
Age: Half a century old. Can't really notice it, since she's an amorphous shape-shifting blob.
Species (must not be full Homo Sapien): Pulchrian
Appearance (picture link is preferred): Amorphous, flesh-coloured blob. Usually takes the form of a young girl, like this.

Statistics Description (25 points to dispense, will be automatically assigned if blank)
Speciality (e.g. Navigation, Research, Ship/Mech/Plane Piloting): Anthropomorfic Disguising
Basic Statistics
  • Strength: 1/10
  • Toughness: 1/10
  • Dexterity: 6/10
  • Intelligence: 7/10
  • Charisma: 10/10
Items (up to three):
-Zap-Zap Blaster: A laser handgun with a striking resemblance to rayguns common in 1950s B-movies. It runs on batteries.

-Wee-Woo Survey Craft: A small car-sized flying saucer, with no weapons whatsoever, limited carrying capacity and only a few seats. It's quite resilient, though, and can survive multiple crashes without much damage.

-Seekrit-Seekrit Disguise Kit: A PDA which permits members of the Pulchrian race to quickly modify their appearance by selecting pre-set appearances or custom ones.

Physical Description (Optional)
Height: Varies. Tends not to be quite high. The reverse, really.
Weight: Varies. Tends to be lightweight.
Likes: Trying to conquer planets in the name of the Pulchrian Empire, enslaving other races, destroying entire civilizations, puppies, trying to become the most glorious general in Pulchrian history, being respected by her subordinates, executing subordinates who don't happen to respect her, biscuits.
Dislikes: Her disguise, the antics she must go through to not blow her cover, almost every other race in the Galaxy other than Pulchrians, Earth, the earthlings, her UFO breaking down, sensible people.
Personality: MoMo-chan is a loudmouthed, bombastic, megalomaniacal aspiring planet conqueror and starfleet leader. Emphasis on the aspiring. She utterly loathes the disguise she is forced to use as a member of the Pulchrian race, and pretty much anything else which looks "cute" or "pretty" in some manner, except for puppies.

She really isn't a teamworker, and collaborates with her fellow co-stars out of pure pragmatism.

History (Compulsory)
Bios:MoMo is a member of the Pulchrian race, a species of amorphous shape-shifting blobs which evolved in an Earth-like dwarf planet known as Pulchria XIII. The majority of Pulchrians is obsessed with the idea of cuteness, to the point of obliging every inhabitant of the planet to assume the form of a cute young girl. Don't let their appearance fool you, though: the Pulchrians are excellent infiltrators, and thanks to their deceiving looks, they have managed to survive being exterminated by several, much more powerful alien races.

MoMo-chan herself is a member of the Chan, the warrior caste of the Pulchrian Empire. She is much less accepting of cuteness and peaceful isolationism than the average Pulchrian, and much more warlike and vicious. Even then, the rules of her civilization oblige her to don the appearance of a cute young girl and to try and avoid conflict whenever possible, much to her chagrin.

Convinced that her race is the laughing stock of the whole galaxy, and that only the legacy of a succesful interplanetary conqueror would manage to save the reputation of the Pulchrians, MoMo-chan entered Earthquest, wanting to use it as an opportunity to perform the first Pulchrian planetary conquest in galactic history.

Additional Information (Optional): - Her appearance tends to shift a lot. I'll try to update the app whenever it does.

Species Name: Gali-byag
Scientific Name (Optional): Polyparma Volat
Homeworld/Origin:The Gali-byag come from the planet Gayral, a world twice the size of earth and with a much thicker atmosphere. Gayral is a swampy planet- with vast mangroves and shallow seas coverring much of its surface- and the little dry land that there is is generally comprised of wind-battered mountain chains and plateus. Vegetation here tends to be somewhat short and scrubby due to strong winds. Due to the orange star that Gayral orbits, many plants on the planet are a greyish-cyan colour and the sky is a lovely shade of turquoise.

The lowlands, however, are lush paradises. The ground is extremely wet and boggy, and lakes are extremely common. Many aquatic and amphibious creatures live happily in the comforting wetness of the undergrowth, where they are shaded from Gayral's K-class main-sequence (orange dwarf) star by huge trees. Here, many creatures who can fly more easily thanks to the thick atmosphere turn the canopy into a fast-paced game of predator and prey. Wings, bladders full of heated hydrogen and rigid sails have all been put to the test up here by evolution and natural selection- creating an aerial version of the African savahnna. Herbivores graze on the canopy, and carnivores eat them. It was here in this kill or be killed situation that the Gali-Byag race were born.

Held aloft by sacks of heated hydrogen, they advanced quickly by using their large brains. Fire, while creating some minor explosions in the thick atmosphere, was eventually harnesses and from that a whole string of inventions were made. Cities were build in the treetops, and as technology progressed even further they were made to float in the skies. This makes Gali-Byag cities both mobile and agile. Today the planet's skies are full of floating farms, floating cities and treetop villages.

Distribution:
The Gali-Byag race live in a relatively peaceful star system- with only a Mercury-sized planet closer to the star than Gayral and a massive Jovian planet further out that deflects the homeworld from most asteroid impacts. Gayral also has three small moons, making for interesting skies.

The Gali Byag have mining colonies on all three of their moons and on many of the Jovian world's moons. Extremely hot conditions of the small innerworld have postponed any colonisation efforts there, but the planetary mining sectors of the Gali-Byag race are booming already. The Gali-Byag are relatively new to space colonisation, and are yet to take over a body outside of their system. That's why they want earth so badly

Picture (if any):

Description:
The Gali-Byag are an interesting race. On top of their bodies is a huge transparent sack of heated hydrogen gas. This allows the Gali-Byag to float through the air with amazing grace and speed- with many being able to go faster than most humans in short bursts. The skin of the sacks is rubbery, allowing it to absorb shock, and it also heals quickly.

Under their gas bags are bodies shrouded with tentacles. Tentacles for grasping, hitting and even ones equipted with stinging cells adorn the Gali-Byag's bodies and hide much of their faces. Their mandible-like mouths are under their bodies and their faces are covered with sensory organs. In addition to having sharp hearing and binocular vision, the Gali-Byag can also have well-developed sonar organs and the ability to taste the air like snakes do. Gali-Buag breathe through their skin.

Because of their unique physiology, the Gali-Buag need to wear full-body suits when exposed to earthling contidions.

They have a poitical system very similar to that of Shogunate Japan, in which the head of state is largely a ceremonial monarch and a governer-general does most of the work. Given that a military general is in charge, the Gali-Byag Shogunate can be very warlike at times. Society is set into rigid castes and the warriors are taught a philosophy of loyalty and honour.

The Gali-Buag are divided into clans, and each clan tends to have a certain role. One clan may be one of nobles, or perhaps peasants or maybe even royals. Some clans were thought to have been descended from gods, and while very few Gali-Buag are religious nowaays these clans still maintain positions of wealth and affluence. Because of this, the Gali-Baug Shogunate is an Oligarchial Monarchy. The Gali-Baug warrior castes will do almost anything for their masters, making them fearless and overall batshit insane.

Items (up to three):a photon bazooka, a small but heavily armoured spherical ship and tentablades- blades that can be attatched to Bakur's tentacles and deliver an electric shock to his enemies.

Physical Description (Optional)
Height: 1 meter without tentacles, 2.8 meters with tentacles.
Weight: 70 kilograms
Likes: honour, brotherhood to the death, weapons (he may obsessively polish his guns) and a tasty but humble meal
Dislikes: betrayal, lying, cowardlyness, extravagant clothing and excessive materialism
Personality:
Bakur, while only just having reached his adult size, is a very full-on warrior for his age. He obeys his codes rigidly. Unless talking with a close friend, he is often very serious, and it is not in his nature to sugarcoat things. Only when it is absolutely necesary will he even consider disregarding his comrades, making him a worthy ally. Bakur finds extravagant things wasteful and has an utter distaste for most fashion.
History (Compulsory)
Bios: Bakur was born in a rural tree village on Gayral to warrior parents. His father was crippled in battle when he was very young, and his family was forced to care for him. His father would tell him tales about his time as a warrior- sparking young Bakur's interest in battle and inspiring him to go to a warrior school. When he was 42, he killed his first Gali-Baug in a duel, and the Gali Baug Shogunate military conscripted him to fight a rebellion on one of the outer moons. He was the youngest recruit there, but he did his best and came back a hardened warrior.

Additional Information (Optional): - Nah.

Agritum wrote:Character Information (Compulsory)

Sebtopiaris wrote:Species Name: Gali-byag

Character Information
Name: Garasov Mas'ameral
Age: 712 Rotations of age is Garasov; in local years of the planet Earth, he possesses approximately one thousand three hundred and twenty nine millenia of existence as one of the Choir.
Species: Singer
Appearance: In a curious case of parallel evolution, the Precursors from who the Singers are derived strongly resemble the humans of this world. Garasov's most favored physical form is that of his pre-Upload body, shown here.

Statistics Description
Speciality (e.g. Navigation, Research, Ship/Mech/Plane Piloting): Mass Coordination and Fabrication
Basic Statistics
  • Strength: 2/10
  • Toughness: 5/10
  • Dexterity: 2/10
  • Intelligence: 10/10
  • Charisma: 6/10
Items (up to three):
- Flowmetal Composition: Garasov is composed, in his entirety, of a demiplanar material known as flowmetal. Given time, he can and will repair damage to his person, and convert surrounding baryonic matter to his uses.
- Distributive Psyche: The Singer, as all of his race do, possesses no central nervous system. Indeed, his mind exists merely as a ghost-in-the-machine of his flowmetal body, and as such can expand, subdivide, or contract as the dictates of the flowmetal latticeworks make necessary.
- Cognatus: With Garasov, in a large sphere the size of a ripe Psarmelon of silvery metal, Garasov bears the mind of his former vessel, the Blacknight. Though it no longer possesses the untrammeled cognitive capabilities of the Fist it once operated, the Blacknight is a staunch ally of his, and their friendship means he salvaged her when the vessel itself was lost.

Physical Description (Optional)
Height: Variable. Stands about two point one central meters, as the intergalactic community measures them.
Weight: Surprisingly light for his volume, he masses in at a mere seventy two kilograms.
Likes: Tasty matter, fine alcoholic beverages, carbon-based lifeforms with his tea. Plays a mean sitar, enjoys fiddling in front of fires, preferably infernos. Has a streak of melancholy and brutality.
Dislikes: Wishy-washy races, individuals who do not live up to their potential, MASCAR, those who do not understand the proper value of vestments.
Personality: He needs a hat, and by tarnation, this new world had better have one. Quiet in general, preferring to keep his own counsel, but a rather boisterous drinker when he chooses to absorb the booze. Goal-driven, and innovative, Garasov believes every situation has a favorable outcome; in his mind no-win scenarios do not exist. He looks forward to forging a new life on this world, and once he hacks out a tolerable personal fief, looks forward to finally composition his opus. Nine times out of ten, Garasov believes in attaining via guile what can be taken by force; he also casually worships the deity of the Choir, the All-Sire, but isn't nearly as fanatical as most of his brethren, due to more time spent in the field.

History
Bios:
Garasov was once a respected commander and admiral within the Choir Tenebris', heading the West Arm Home Fleet aboard his flagship, the Blacknight. During his time he saw the suppression of eighty two potential interstellar flareups, the Seeding of one hundred and fourteen worlds, and the erasure of seven races of Potentials that had been deemed beyond bringing to the Light. Many of his expeditions saw him travel deep in to the recesses of the void with only a half dozen other Singers for company for many rotations of the Prime, and thus he grew farther and farther apart from what could be considered orthodox thought upon Holy Riva. Eventually his heretical ideas, such as individual power and a nominal instead of realized power for the Cardinals, brought him in to direct conflict with the Grand Choir, but through several popular speeches he escaped censure. Thence he was assigned by the Praternum Techsina, by his enemies within it, to catalog the formation of Planetary System X13J-7782-a:1, which was just in its infancy. Under the supposition that this was a routine Survey, the Blacknight approached the star, after which point a hidden sigma device was detonated, sparking the collapse of the nascent stellar furnace in to a singularity. With the Drives for the Blacknight unable to activated due to the mass signature, Garasov took only a small Eye and fled with the gestalt of his proud vessel, escaping the trap even as the one-time pride of the West Arm Home Fleet succumbed to the gravitational stresses. He fled, knowing not who to trust after such an incident, eventually making his way across most of the galaxy, here, to where EarthQuest was being held.

Additional Information (Optional): - Garasov changes form frequently; I'll try to ensure I furnish a full description when necessary.

Name: The Janitor
Age:25 Earth Years
Species (must not be full Homo Sapien):Faustis Sligus Octgiu/ Known as the Faust
Appearance (picture link is preferred):http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2012/080/9/6/oddworld_slig__promarker__by_thestickibear-d4tifu1.jpg

Statistics Description (25 points to dispense, will be automatically assigned if blank)
Speciality (e.g. Navigation, Research, Ship/Mech/Plane Piloting): Being a Janitor
Basic Statistics
•Strength: 5/10
•Toughness:5 /10
•Dexterity: 5/10
•Intelligence:5 /10
•Charisma:5 /10
Items (up to three):
Armcguer Gun: Known as the " Gemini Slugger" is a poor-Faust's own autogun as they do not like using ballistics, but grunts, poor Faust, and poorly-built Thinking Stumps are modified with them, they are widely used by civilians as they have been outdated ever since the Third Failing of Homebound. The Armcguer Gun is twin-link and fires 500 rounds per minute as they use a constant energy to fire the rounds without the need of gunpowder or a hammer. The Gun also has immense energy bleeders called Zing! which allows the Gun to be able to be fired normally and there is an anti-gravity module that equalizes the weight of the gun called Zoing!. Both of these weapons use energy from were the Faust called the Deep Purple, a dimensional plane where their Conclaveship and the rest of their endangered species resides.

Dan's Pants: Short for Danerium Pantistics which are prosthetic legs that make the Faust walk upright for the Faust themselves have to crawl on their bodies as their natural legs get fused in birth and they are similar to overgrown tadpoles in this regard. The Pants are ran by Entropy so it can make itself a cold fusion, but the Techshamans actually gave it the Breath of the One Spark, which is also in the most simplest form, Entropy. The Pants allow the Faust to move in difficult terrain with ease and also is the Faust main weakness if they get disabled.

Sigil of St. Greg: Greg, known as the first Techshaman that started the " Big Wise Up" and was the founder of the Faust and the Ordium Cognate. Those who have the Sigil can utilize the power that it holds. The Sigil is actually use by those in high importance or that he is a recognized Techshaman. This can allow them to get a discount on mercs that are from their race or in some occasions, other alien races that like the Faust when they are in need of an army and they usually need it quick.
Physical Description (Optional)
Height: 4 feet 4( with Pants on)/ Without Pants on, 2 feet
Weight: 100 lbs
Likes: Drinking, smoking, gambling, TV, crime dramas
Dislikes: Work, Fate, War, Galaxy in general
Personality: Is a person who hates to be thrust in situations that he doesn't ask to be in( like Planetquest). He actually is a slacker but can be surprising at times. Is not a morning person and is pretty much the Average Joe equivalent of what the Faust are unless they are a soldier or a Techshaman on the Conclaveship.

History (Compulsory)
Bios: The Janitor is a janitor that has no name for he is not famous or prestige enough to have one for he is part of an endangered species called the Faust who have been stuck in a dimensional plane called the Deep Purple for 80 years after they became Spacefaring. They are known to have the worst luck in the galaxy while trying to find a new home after they left there because they where damaging the Homeworld's ecosystem under the leaders of a over industrialist race that made them into a slave race and military arm in exchange of giving them bipedal legs and finally give them the joy of walking upright. They left after the famous revolt call the " Big Wise Up" which brought them to pretty much advance and almost made the industrialist race to extinction. They build the Conclaveship with what little infrastructure was made and destroyed the rest so that the planet can have an equal pace.

This was all before the Janitor's time as the Faust have been actively searching for a new planet until the Friends of the Stars had contact them telling them to hang on a bit longer as they would get them a new home and show the galaxy that the Friends of the Stars were great for the galaxy. The Faust rejoiced but they were taking to long. After numerous talks with the Friends, it was decided that the Faust will wait longer but in truth, they could not wait any longer. The Techshamans have heard of Planetquest and ArcCorp, they knew that the contestants never won and they were trained in killing and warfare.

The leaders of the Faust made a lottery for every able bodied Faust soldier and Techshaman for they would represent the entirety of their race as they try to wrestle the planet for the Faust to finally have a new home. The Janitor had overheard this one day in the kitchen by one of the private that did not want to go if fear of the high loss rate of Planetquest decided to just shove his ticket to the Janitor without telling the Janitor what was going on.

When the ticket was announced and the Janitor had it, he was quickly giving high importance. The Techshamans were quite angry but they had already paid the high entrance fee and decided to give the Janitor a gun, his Pants, and a Sigil of St. Greg to help him when or if he reaches this planet called" Earth" in order to get the army he so desperately going to need. So, that is how a normal janitor got throwing into the same boat with the most deadliest warriors the galaxy has to offer in order to save his species and claim this planet as a new homeworld for the Faust.

Also, just a warning incase anything is getting planned: I won't be able to post on most of tomorrow, this Friday, and then Tuesday through Thursday of next week. AP testing and state testing stuff. In any case, I'm still super eager for the RP!

IC Info: TL;DR verson of Nekronia: Authoritarian government with elements of the USSR and national socialism. Everyone works for the government, and buys from the government, obsoleting taxes as the money does not leave the country, save for government buying of items of foreign nations. Military is advanced but unconventional, focusing on infantry and psychological warfare. Primary method of national income is export of armaments and other war-related items.

It is sealable against liquids - most notably blood - as well as contaminants and gases. It is infinite as long as a large source of matter, such as a pot or a light is provided to create it. OOC Information (Compulsory for non-invitees)
RP Example: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=292278&hilit=Empires

Faction Name: The Union of the Frontier
Leader: President Prazza Farnswell
Capital: Saint York
System of Government: Federal Presidential Constitutional Republic
Notable Characters (optional): Ranolaya Dasnan (Contestant in a game show)
Description: The Union of the Frontier, or more simply, the UF, was created in the ashes of the Franlian Empire, which collapsed under its internal troubles and outside nations attacking it, as well as being such a large empire, that resulted in overextension. The North of the Franlian Empire was conquered by the Franlians about 100 years before, and they still held a strong cultural identity. They declared independence after the capital of the Franlians fell to barbarian invaders from the South, in 200 CE. Soon after its creation, the UF was one of the strongest powers in the world, due to its large level of industry.

Many centuries later, in 1810, a medium-sized country in the west of the planet Saparia, a nation known as Frankia, went on a military rampage, conquering nations all around them, lead by their dictator and military genius, Noelopan Etrapanob, declared war on the UF, and met early successes, getting dangerously close to the capital, but in the later stages of the war, got pushed back and its capital seized, so they surrendered. The face of the planet was changed, with the UF getting lots of territory.

The year 1820 was a great year for the UF, as they had achieved space travel, and formed a planetary union with all the other nations on Saparia, known as the Saparian Systems Union. The nations still kept their identity, and in the intergalactic scene, the planet was represented by the SSU.

Raliean Cyborg
Image

Description:
The original species of Carthagians look very mechanical and have their masks on most of their life. This is because their immune system is weak and cannot be exposed to outside potentially harmful materials and diseases, or else the person might die. However, in their suit, the person has enormous combat aids, and even a regular civilian can fight admirably. But, most people opt to be the "Raliean" cyborg instead, due to its even bigger combat aids and immunization to all known diseases and materials that could hurt the person. The Raliean class cyborg conversion was made by Secunda Robotic & Mechanical Corporation as an upgrade for their earlier "Sovngarde" class cyborg.

Species App

Species Name: Mook
Scientific Name (Optional): Mokus Jinjitara
Homeworld/Origin: Franchisybia
Distribution: Epsilon Erdani (home star), Alpha Centauri. Most of their inter-stellar colonies have become well defended and well populated. Due to dwindling resources on their home planet, the Mooks have turned to the stars for hope. A planet of particular interest is the third one from the star Sol.
Picture (if any):
Image

Description:
The Mooks are an odd-looking bunch of creatures. To get the image of a Mook, imagine a raptor(dinosaur). Replace the reptillian mouth with that of a beak, and make the legs bend backwards (like a birds). They have their nostrils on their backs and six fingers on their hands. Mooks also possess two long, floppy ears and whisker-like organs on the tip of their beaks, which are used to echolocate and smell. Mooks are varied in color, being yellow in northern latitudes and red and orange near the equator, and are near the size of a man.

On their home planet Franchisybia they breathe mostly Co2, and while oxygen isn't toxic it is no replacement for the lovely Carbon Dioxide. So they wear suits to protect themselves from deadly gases and microorganisms. Mook society varies across the planet, but their world is divided into four nations: The North, the South, the East and the West. The West and the South are absolute monarchies, and they have rigid and very classical societies. They believe that the ruler knows what is best for the people, and that warfare is necessary to maintain peace. The North and East are republics and unlike the monarchs they believe in the common Mooks right to a voice, and that all people should be tolerated. These clashing ideologies (coupled with dwindling resources) has led to a world-wide war between the four nations.

Statistics Description (25 points to dispense, will be automatically assigned if blank)
Speciality (e.g. Navigation, Research, Ship/Mech/Plane Piloting): Strategy, Fighting, Weaopnry, Air-combat and Airship technologies
Basic Statistics
Strength: 7/10
Toughness: 8/10
Dexterity: 4/10
Intelligence: 5/10
Charisma: 6/10
Items (up to three):

~Ion Hand Gun- A pistol that uses Ion energy as ammunition. Great for tearing through flesh and bone.

~Western Airforce Personal Unit (WAPU)- The Wapu, Darens own personal aircraft. Bestowed to him during his raiding days, the Wapu is capable of sustaining long flights, combat and crash-landings. Though, it is quite aged.

~Universal Survival Kit- An ultimate survival kit from Franchisybia. It contains medical supplies, an Air Respirator (it's hard for Mooks to breathe oxygen, you know), a Ghenis Army knife and a small scouting drone.

Physical Description (Optional)
Height: 6.1 ft
Weight: 182 lbs
Likes: Fighting, Drink and the "Good Leaf", advanced weaponry
Dislikes: Rudeness, Arrogance, disrespect, Weakness, being around annoying people
Personality: Daren is a complex person. While not outwardly aggressive, preferring to stay quiet and reserved, he is very well trained and can put up quite a fight. His morality is questionable, as he is fine with killing others who stand in his way or pose a threat. He is no genius, but is very good at flying aircraft and designing airships, as he was once in an Air-raid force. Due to his history of being compared with his outstanding brothers, Daren has developed an Inferiority-Complex, and as so this causes him to over-compensate. Despite his calm and reserved exterior, he is easily upset and can turn violent when enraged.

History (Compulsory)
Bios: From the planet Franchisybia, he hails from the nation of the West. Daran Cram was born into a wealthy family, with his father owning an international mining company. Daran's brothers were sent off to fight in the war when they got old enough, but Daran was not. He simply was not fit enough. His brothers became war heroes and prodigies, loved by all their family, and as a result Daran was pushed to the sidelines. Seeking acceptance, he left the academia and began to look for an opportunity to prove his worth. He trained and was recruited by the WAR (Western Air Raiders). While apart of the organization he took part in many capmgains, destroying enemy towns and war posts. But WAR was not apart of the Western Militia, and the organization was shut down and disbanded, with its former participants treated as criminals. Daren was ejected from the West for his "war crimes", and forced to live in the South. His family, disappointed by what Daren had become, disowned him. With nobody to turn to and on the verge of poverty, he signed up for the well-known conquest game show, hoping to finally prove his worth.

It contains medical supplies, an Air Respirator (it's hard for Mooks to breate oxygen, you know), a Ghenis Army knife and a small scouting drone.

Physical Description (Optional)
Height: 6.1 ft
Weight: 182 lbs
Likes: Honor, Fighting, Drink and the "Good Leaf", advanced weaponry

While apart of the organization he took part in many campgains, destroying enemy towns and war posts.
