It plays host to many large EU headquarters of American multinationals in Europe as the only euro English speaking country. Its main exports are foodstuffs, IT equipment and medical equipment and pharmaceuticals. It has no real mass production capabilities but a strong basis for the batch production sector. It trades with the EU market as well as the USA, UK and China.

Small History of your nation till June 2014: The country is slowly progressing its economy out of the economic collapse and the unemployment level is slowly creeping down towards 10% from 12-15%. There is slight civil unrest with recent government moves concerning property taxation and water service charges to the point of active protesting. Student unrest is also moderately high at the recent increase of registration fees. The military has recently commissioned and completed two new offshore patrol vessels with increased firepower and range than their predecessors.
Goals for the Nation: Hope to significantly boost the economy through increased domestic investment and foreign trade, to secure the military with up to date technology and equipment and to increase the presence of Ireland in its African interests.

Saudi is kinda pro-western compared to its neighbours, but that's mostly due to economics. I think you'd need to have some liberalized reforms first, but it is definitely feasible, especially if the West is less Islamophobic.
