The Last of Us: OOC (New Version/Semi-Alive?)

Sorry for the Merida post taking so long. I got part way through a post and Im just stumped. Im not sure what to do with the father/daughter group.
Do I offer them a ride? Would they find it creepy and random for merida to do such a thing? Do I just let them know merida will be in town for awhile and if they want anything, to come see her? I want merida to interact with them some how but Im not really sure how to go about having some random girl they never met before interacting with them out in the middle of an abandoned town. Im sure they are allready quite spooked as it is.

This is pretty much what I always so: Go with whatever you think fits best for your character, because in the end, that is always the best option. I've gone a bit off of something I see one of my characters doing, and then later I look back at it and am not happy I did that decision. Though of course your character behaving different than normal can also be a good thing at times, depending on what it is.

Well thanks. The help was appreciated and I took it to heart. Tried to make her act like she was too cool for it all. "eh take it or leave it, doesnt matter to me."
But also tried to show that she did care a little and she was enough of a good guy to want to help out a frail little thing that looked about ready to collapse from hunger or thirst or being cold or whatever.

There, I posted. I decided to just make the post and get my idea over with. I trimmed that post down quite a bit from its original form, too...Wasn't happy with like 3 paragraphs anymore. I also readjusted a lot of other aspects of it. I had written this post like a year ago, by the way, so that's why I'm talking about having trimmed it down.

Also, I'm officially done with my over scripted part of the story, so now what happens from here on out is pretty free for all. I mean, that's not to say I don't have ideas. I have many for various characters for over the years (Yes, years into the story). But they're most likely going to be less scripted, and they're just more general plot ideas and I have no specific ideas for them down to the smallest detail. Just plans for the future (Like the gated community) for us to work with eventually.

Appearance: He looks like this, but with cold, ice-blue eyes that are nearly white. And he wears glasses.

Single Person Equipment:
-A bow
-A quiver full of home-made arrows of various types and uses.
-A sniper rifle that's fairly modern, and powerful, but small enough to be carried on his back.
-Ammo
-Two swords.
-A backpack, which contains first aid supplies, some clothes, food and water, a flashlight, his gas mask, and a bedroll (Tied to the top of the backpack)

Group Ideology:

Group/Person Location: Near Washington DC

Brief Summary on Group/Person: Being 31 years old, Leroy was born in to the apocalypse, and it has been rough on him. He lived in relatively safety for a while, with his adoptive parents, who had found him abandoned in the woods, but at the age of 13, things went downhill for him. The settlement was overrun by Clickers, and other Infected, due to some careless teenagers making too much noise while on watch. He and his mom managed to escape, his father buying them time. They survived on their own for a while, but his mother got sick, first mentally, in depression of her love being gone, as well as the safety of their home, and then physically as she made no effort to take care of herself. Eventually she died, and he felt slightly betrayed by how she wouldn't take care of herself, even for him. That was just the first step in his descent into bitterness. At the age of 17, he'd been surviving on his own for a while, when he met a girl. It wasn't long before he fell in love, and soon he was so deeply in love, that he would have died for her. And he nearly did, but not in the way one might imagine. She robbed him of all his supplies, and then shot him, leaving him for dead. Luckily for him, a doctor happened across him, and manged to nurse him back to health...Physically. His mind, however, was broken. Once he was healed, he began to wander the 'wastes', becoming a force to be reckoned with. He had no qualms about killing people for what he needed, innocent or not, though he usually stuck with killing bandits and assholes. However, recently, he's started to regret what he's done, and while he is still cold-hearted, he has moments of depression.

Hmm, so I think I will work on a Mad Max-inspired group, just to make areas in Nevada more...interesting.

Also, I want to make a map for pointing out locations where our people are occupied and whatnot, but I have no idea where to even start, and for that matter, how to have one that goes into detail of like "Oh, these guys in Colorado occupy this ONE base in the entire state, let's mark that down on the map!"...

And I think like Terintania did with Leroy, I'm going to partially redo Hera. I still feel like playing her somewhere, but redoing her start of her storyline since the people revolving around her kinda disappeared. Overall her plot will probably be the same, though.

Yea right now I'm just doing what the Mongols did, small outposts where people can trade off supplies and keep moving west or east. Easy to set up and able to move around.

Well if you want you could hit up the Pitt, plenty of work there and we are more than willing to pay. Otherwise you show up in the capital building and meet the Fuhrer watch out for snipers. Other than that no where in particular

Brief Summary on Group/Person: Hera grew up in a farming family, who were apparently STILL farmers even after everything they had been through. Their farm was surprisingly safe most of the time over the years, and the family lived off their farm like nothing had ever happened. And when there WERE things attacking, the family could defend themselves well enough that nobody ever had to leave. The father had been taught by his father to shoot really well, which he passed on to his daughters AND sons. The family consists of a mom and dad, 2 daughters, and 3 sons. Hera being the youngest. For whatever reason or other, they had decided to bring in 5 children into a world like this. They all grew up learning survival techniques, how to shoot, work on the farm, you name it. By the time she was 14, she knew how to drive, how to shoot well, and her and her dad had gone out into the wild to practice surviving multiple times, his way to make sure his children learned the best that they could.

But one day, their little farm paradise came to an end when a big ass infected came and attacked their home, along with lots of smaller ones attacking with it. It caught them all by surprise, and because I'm evil, she was the only one who managed to escape, her family all dying while trying to shoot them and escaping. This was all because she was out doing something else in a different part of the farm. She started to notice the attack, but by the time she was back, her family was all dead and most of the infected had wandered onwards, with a few exceptions that she killed. Feeling terrible that she wasn't there for them (And partly wishing she had died with them). Realizing how grim her situation had just become, she started to load up a bunch of crap she knew she didn't technically need but might be useful into a pickup truck of her families, which had been filled up from them siphoning a bunch of gas from cars over the years, and drove off without a real goal.
