The age is war.
In the grimdark darkness of the far dark grim future there is only grimdark.

A thousand years ago in the Y Galaxy, the Tsars of the Bangalore Empire ruled the Kreed Arm with an iron fist. Today, they are completely irrelevant to our story and only serve as a backdrop because conservation of detail can suck it. What, we're actually uncovering an ancient conspiracy relating to the return of the Bangalore Empire and how the entire galaxy is screwed or something? This isn't the story of Space-Rome's return; this is the story of the Space-Allies fighting Space-Bug-Hitlerhito.
In the farthest reaches of the Kreed Arm where only the most foolish venture, there live the kingdoms of the Arakan. An ancient race ruled by immaterial hive minds, their lords have long held their territory since before the Tsars under the might of their Hive-Emperor. By virtue of strength, guile and cunning he has guided his people since time immemorial, carving an empire among the stars and scouring the universe for scouring's sake.
The races of the Kreed Arm united in a grand coalition to fuck me you know the rest of the goddamn story:
TL;DR:
A deconstruction of doom armies and hive mind species via hot fleet-on-fleet action.
Welcome to Star Command: Fleet-on-Fleet inAction, where a commodore is you. As a playa (Oh God, it's not autocorrecting that) you take charge of a single flotilla within the raider armada being scraped together. With our powers combined we shall be the scourge of the Arakan, hitting the enemy where we want and making them feel exceedingly uncomfortable via vigorous violation of their infrastructure. We shall embark on great adventures and win the war through the most cowardly tactics we can think of. And yes, I said raider, cowardly tactics, and violent disruption of infrastructure. We're fucking exterminator-pirates.
The war has begun, but it is not in full swing just yet. We've had a lot of heads-up about the Arakan's war preparation, or at least more than the Arakan would like. In an effort to end the war before it begins, the Koalition had assembled a fleet of raiders as quickly as they could to destroy the enemy war effort. However, in their haste to assemble a fleet the Koalition could not assemble a full roster of capitol ships such as dreadnoughts, leaving the fleet slightly weaker against larger vessels; fortunately, disarmament treaties imposed upon the Arakan would have kept their capitol production to a minimum…
Simple, right? After all this is a pretty tiny OP. Well guess what: you're not done! Buckle up, kids: you'll be reading for an extended period of time.
