1992: The Modern Scenario (War Thread)

Postby Waztaskio » Sat Mar 01, 2014 1:08 pm

OOC: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=295466#p20027579
IC: viewtopic.php?ns=1&f=31&t=295650#p20047033

This is the thread to actually conduct wars on. When you are fighting a war, you will post all of the battles here, along with troop movements to prevent the Main IC from getting spammed with wars, so you can do political stuff in the IC, and War stuff here. If there are multiple wars going on, for each post you make, I will announce the name of the war in this OP to list all the conflicts going on and you will in the topic of your post, announce the name of your war so we can keep track.

For Example: I can name a war between China and Russia would be named the Russo-Sino War or something, and in your post if you are either China or Russia, you will post in the Subject field Russo-Sino War, and then make your post so we can keep track of which war is which. And thats it!

Pan Arab - Israeli War

Postby The Emerald Dragon » Sat May 17, 2014 10:57 am

Jordanian Border, May, 1992

Operation 'Green Crescent' opened with 2,000 soldiers driving over the border in an assortment of APC vehicles. Their mission was to liberate Jordan from the Socialist Israelis, who had incorporated the unwilling peoples of Jordan into their country. Little resistance is expected, but as always it cannot be guaranteed. Soldiers are well equipped, with the AKM rifle, they have high morale and are well paid. They answer directly to the Emir himself, and are loyal only to him and not the state. Many Jordanians seem happy to be liberated, but this is only a few miles into the country. Heavier resistance is expected, the closer to Israel that the army gets. The Emir, doesn't want to invade Israel itself however.

ORBAT

2,000 soldiers of the 'Arab Special Protection Unit' who are basically The Emir's* fanatically loyal bodyguards

50 M60A3 tanks
50 AMX 30 tanks
205 M113 APCs
20 Tornado fighter jets
40 Dassault Mirage Fighter Jets.

OOC: I finally decided to change my country's name to the Pan Arab Emirate.

Pan Arab - Israeli War

Postby The Emerald Dragon » Sun May 18, 2014 9:04 am

August, 1992.

Soldiers begin retreating back across the Pan Arab border, offering any Jordanian citizens who want to come with them the chance to. Soon they are back across the Pan Arab border, following an order to leave Israeli held Jordan. APCs soon begin to retreat, and all soldiers and equipment that should've been heading to Jordan are ordered to stand down. Now, they eagerly watch Iran and its actions in Azerbaijan.

Iranian-Azerbijani War

Postby Waztaskio » Sun May 18, 2014 11:54 am

Baku Headquarters,

News of Iranian armies crossing the AzerBijani border was shocking news to the Military Cabinet. With the President calling up all of the nations reserves up, to be delivered by the end of the month, Defense Minister Rahim Gaziyev and Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Valeh Barshadly, began discussing the plans for defense.

"This is not good, the 2nd Army Corps, better known as the Pirekeshkul Army Corps, reports fierce fighting from the Iranian Army. Reports coming in from their says that they are on the verge of being surrounded by advancing tank columns. I advise retreat from the area, and re-route them to defensive positions along the towns of NeftChala, and Salyan". The Chief of staff finished his intial reports, and the Secretary of Defense spoke next.

"If my information is correct, we also have the 5th Army Corps, or Nakhchivan Army Corps deployed in Nakhchivan. They are composed of the Motor Rifle Brigade in Nakhchivan, and two other Motor Rifle Brigades held in reserve. I believe we should deploy our second Motor Rifle to commence Evacuation of the area, while having the other set up defenses at Shabuz. We cannot allow that river to be crossed. The 4th Army Corps, or Baku Army Corps, shall be deployed to set up defenses around Baku. These towns include Sumqayit, Qaradagh, and Atyali. Keep the navy in the sea around Baku, to watch for enemy transports. Remember, a Brigade per town".

The Chief of Staff spoke up again, "This leaves the 1st Army Corps, or Evlax Army Corps in Ganja, along with the 3rd Army Corps, or Shamkir Army Corps, along the Armenian Border. I believe we should re-deploy the 1st Army Corps to Xankandi, and take up defenses along the surrounding towns. With the 2nd Army Corps Deploying around Hendarkh. This shall be our Order of Battle, and with the reserves coming up, we may be able to form two more corps".

With this, the defense minister approved the plans. And the troops were on the move.

Iranian-Azerbijani War

2nd Army Corps Field HQ, Beylagan, June 24th.
The fighting along the border was fierce, with causalities already coming up to 4,000 on our side. The new orders just came in from Baku HQ, to the line. And the 2nd Army Corps was given to retreat to the towns of NeftChala, and Salyan:

Casualties so far:
Reported: 4,000
Confirmed: 1,200
Status: Redeploying to Neft Chala and Salyan, expected to be re-enforced to at least 55 Thousand after the reserves are called.

5th Army Corps Field HQ, Nakhchivan, June 24th.

The 5th Army Corps was not under fire as of yet, but unconfirmed reports of troop movement in the Area has prompted for High Command to issue a order of defense and evacuation of as many citizens as possible before fighting erupts. Their orders were simple, out of the three brigades they have, put one in Nakchivan and the other in Shabuz, while having the third handle evacuation.

1st Army Corps Field HQ, Baku, June 24th.
The 4th Army Corps in Baku, was the first to recieve their orders, and have already been digging trenches, and fortifications along the towns of Sumqayit, Qaradagh, and Atyali. As reports of mostly armed calvary have been reported, mostly tank traps have been set up along with a few mines.

Trenches being dung around the three cities.

4th Army Corps Field HQ, Ganja, June 24th.
The 4th Army Corps has been told to re-deploy to Xankandi, and set up defenses along the towns. They were a day outside of the town, and the defenses were about to be constructed.

3rd Army Corps Field HQ, Shamkir, June 24th.
The 3rd Army Corps is just now arriving to Hendarkh, and like the 4th, been assigned to set up defenses along the surrounding town.

Azerbaijani-Iranian War

Postby Doitsu-san » Sun May 18, 2014 6:34 pm

Turkish-Iranian Border

The war drums of the ancient Ottomans were yet beating again, the nation of Turkey fighting an age old adversary, whom her glorious ancestors had defeated time and time again in the past. It only seemed fitting the signal to launch the attack would be the timeless anthem of the Ottoman Empire, Mecidiye Marşı.

As the track blared across the bases and fortifications on the border, men assembled in their ranks and vehicles, artillery loaded it's ammunition, and planes were ready to lift off. Within the span of several minutes, all preparations were made, and as the final blaze of the grand trumpets were played, a gruff old general by the name of Tayyip Yilmaz shouted a single line to the troops "FOR OUR ANCESTORS! FOR OUR PEOPLES! FOR OUR MOTHERLAND!", and with that the huge initial barrage of artillery soared into the air, not rounds of explosives, but as they fell on the enemy lines they revealed themselves as thick canisters of red smoke, and quickly turned the air opaque as 52 F-16 Falcons lifted off from the ground heading towards the enemy, and the 1st through 4th Army Groups advanced on Iranian lines.

Chinese Intervention in Thailand

Postby Imperial Baekchae » Tue May 20, 2014 5:35 pm

Over Thailand,
0500 Hours, Operation Reveal the Shroud

A few companies of Chinese troops sat ominously in their air transports, silently murmuring to one another or smoking cigarettes. In a few hours, they would be deployed to assist in the joint liberation of Thailand between China and Malaysia, leading the assault with an airborne assault. The objective was to secure at least a part of Thailand to create an anti Indian puppet state, and to provide a refuge for potential political prisoners and otherwise anti Indian persons under the Indian military regime. True, the Thais may offer resistance, but just hours before, Wu had declared a policy of "freedom" for Asia, declaring that China would actively work to maintain liberty and freedom in the Asian world. They stood to oppose Imperialism and forcible annexation, and the Chinese attack was meant to be a liberation, and not an invasion or annexation.

The first Chinese paratroops began to deploy, securing small buildings and outskirt mills and villages, taking care to avoid the densely populated cities for the time being. Instead, their goal was to secure a base of Forward operations, and President Wu had begun to ask the Vietnamese for permission to move troops through their nation to assist the beleaguered Thais. De jure, this was an illegal operations, but it was hoped that the Chinese could force the Indian hand, and bring a halt to Indian ambitions in Asia. India may have been populous, but was nowhere as affluent as the Republic of China. The annexation of Thailand had been declared as illegal by the Chinese government, which refused to accept its political legitimacy, and thus the stage would be set for a face off of epic proportions.

General Mao, of the Republican Chinese Army, promised that China would never abandon the integrity and the self determination of the Thai peoples, and that China would fulfill its obligations to its Asian neighbors. With a somewhat warmongering rhetoric, he called upon the Japanese, Malay, Vietnamese and Korean governments to do their parts to assist in the freedom of the questionably annexed nation.
