STAR WARS: HERESIES

The Third Imperial Civil War
250 years after the Battle of Yavin, the Empire is divided. The current Emperor, Tarkas II Fel, has been challenged by his brother, Lithan. Tarkas is considered by many to be a weak and indecisive ruler, while Lithan is a hardy Imperial Knight and proven general. Recently, Tarkas' refusal to execute sympathizers of the traitorous New Remnant has prompted Lithan to declare himself the true Emperor, amassing a rebellion of Moffs, Imperial Knights, mercenaries and others, starting the Third Imperial Civil War. Their declared mission: to "end the pathetic kowtowing to the Moff Council and restore the dignity of the Throne." Lithan's marriage to a princess of the Hapan Corsortium has led many of its nobles to support his claim and mobilize for war on his behalf. The Chiss Ascendancy is split on who to support, so they are excercsing caution. However, the same cannot be said for the Galactic Alliance. Chief of State Yudrak Uving, elected in a wave of belligerence and militancy, has convinced the Senate to declare war on the Empire to reclaim worlds that seceded from the Alliance or were conquered in the leadup and during the Sith-Imperial War. He did this against the discretion of the Jedi Coalition, who believed a new dark side threat was on the rise. The Jedi broke ties with the Alliance, declaring they could not stand for such warmongering, though many renegades left the Order to stand by the Alliance and their war.
Many of the Order went to stand vigil in the Outer Rim, preparing for a renewed attack by the Sith, and found a multitude of warring Sith factions, some still loyal to Krayt's One Sith, some Wyyrlokites under his daughter, Saarai, some followers of the Old Way, and there are even a pair of warlords amassing an army of Dark Side creatures and slaves wishing to restoring Bane's Rule of Two. However, the Jedi and the Imperial Knights believe the Sith have infiltrated all of the Galaxy's governments to some extent, and are fearful of another Sith takeover. The future of the galaxy is once again in jeopardy, and its destiny will be decided by the brave heroes who champion the cause of galactic unity.

The Fel Regnant:His Imperial Majesty, Tarkas II Fel, rules over the Empire from Bastion. While many have defected to Lithan, there are billions of Imperials who are loyal to their Emperor to the dying breath. Tarkas maintains support of most of the Moffs, and the more conservative Imperials, to whom warring against the reigning Emperor is unthinkable. He is also popular among traders, merchants and spacers for his Safe Space program, promoting trade and giving incentives to law-abiding space travellers, reducing crime across Hyperspace and causing many spacers to join the Empire. Ralltiir, a planet hosting some of the most important financial transactions in the galaxy, is very loyal to him. The Spacer Ace Fleet, the brainchild of Moff-Admiral Jiron Paltiar, is comprised of former smugglers and free spacers who joined the Empire as a result of the Safe Space Program, and have been used to police Imperial space. However, with the outbreak of war, they are loyal to Tarkas, and are commanded by the Nimbanel Rillo Brelm. Supporters of Tarkas are known as Legalists or Loyalists, or informally "Tarkans" or "Ravelinites," after the capital of Bastion, Ravelin.
Important Leaders:
High Moff: Gilad Fenel, of the Fenel noble house
Grand Admiral: Hoff Triffar
Grand General: Luar Dinket
Minister of the Interior: Rouss Prekk
Minister of Alien Affairs: Nial Birojek, a conservative, anti-alien man.
Leader of Imperial Unity, Bastion: Juon Nedu
Leader of Federal Party: Nexor Tinfel
Leader of Solidarity, Bastion: Eleena Nuoto, a Twi'lek female

NOTE: The title "Supreme Commander" was abolished following the Second Imperial Civil War, due to its last holder's betrayal.

The Fel Claimant: Lithan Fel, leader of the Imperial Knights, rules from the Imperial hemisphere of Coruscant. The great majority of Imperial Knights follow him. As a prince, Lithan was not only an Imperial Knight, he was a major force in politics as governor of Imperial Coruscant. His programs of "Devongification," remedying the destructive impact of Yuuzhan Vong occupation more than two centuries ago, and his support for alien migrants' rights, have made him a man of the people. However, he was involved in politics outside of Coruscant as well. His defense of nobles' estates against attempted incursions by intergalactic corporations has gained him the support of most of the noble houses in the war, offsetting the Moffs' support of Tarkas. Supporters of Lithan's claim are known as Legitmists or Stalwarts, called "Zealots" by the Legalists, for their crusade for a Force-sensitive Emperor.
High Moff: Viron Baltek
Grand Admiral: Luma Vao
Grand General: Himal Makati
Leader of Imperial Unity, Coruscant: Kuon Tiati
Leader of Solidarity, Coruscant: Xilar Tiosh

The New Remnant: In 243 ABY, a group of conspirators in the Moff Council attempted a coup against Tarkas. It was put down, but the surviving traitors managed to escape into the Outer Rim, to an uninhabited planet they dubbed New Bastion. The Moffs used their immense wealth to fortify the planet and hire mercenaries to their cause as they seek to end "centuries of Fel coercion and return to the prosperous days of just rule by Moffs alone, as in the Imperial Remnant."

The Imperial Military:
Stormtroopers: The elite ground soldiers of the Empire.
Imperial Army: Relies mostly on war machines like AT-ATs and AT-TTs. Few ground troops in Army, as the Stormtroopers are usually used.
Imperial Navy: The TIE Fighter of the old Empire gave way to the Predator starfighter, which focuses on speed and quick strikes. Most Star Destroyers are Pellaeon-class
Auxiliary Forces: Many planets aligned with the Empire host species with unique methods of warfare. Such species, like the Kaleesh, Talz, and Trandsohans, are instead conscripted into the Auxiliaries.

The Imperial Mission: Founded by the first Fel Emperor, Jagged Fel, as part of his "Victory Without War" initiative to spread Imperial influence by peaceful means, the Mission provides aid to impoverished and war-torn planets. The mission has stayed out of the recent Imperial infighting between Emperors and Moffs, and for the most part all factions have let the Mission continue on unhindered. Many Imperials trained in the Force, but decide to use their abilities for civilian purposes, join the Order of the Mission.

The Imperial Knights: The Force-sensitive guardians of the Empire, identified by their crimson cortosis armor and identical blue lightsabers. The Knights follow the light side as personified by the Emperor. Unlike the Jedi, who simply seek to follow the light, the Imperial Knights put the good of the Empire and its citizens above all, and serve as the Emperor's personal guard. One of the greatest Emperors, Roan I Fel, was Force-sensitive and an Imperial Knight, and all of his descendants have led the order. All except for Tarkas, the reigning Emperor. An anomaly among the royal family, Tarkas has shown no proficiency with the Force, causing many to question his legitimacy; the Emperor was closely associated with power in the Force, and was a reason so many remained loyal to the Empire, even the hardline conservatives who preferred rule by Sith had to bend to the Emperor's power. Many Imperial Knights have pondered, how can the Emperor embody the light side of the Force if he is not attuned to it? How can we follow one who is blind to it? By contrast, Tarkas' younger brother, Lithan, is powerful in the Force, and has led the Imperial Knights to victory in many battles. Thus, when Lithan declared himself Emperor, all but a select few of the Order joined his cause.
Crimson Troopers: The defection of the Imperial Knights has left Tarkas at a defensive disadvantage; were he to be attacked by Lithan's Knights, Jedi, or even by agents of the Dark Side, he would have less Force-sensitives to sense the danger and defend him. For this reason, Tarkas authorized the creation of the Crimson Vanguard. Most Force-sensitives in the military are immediately transferred for Imperial Knight training. However, due to the current crisis and the deficit of Knights in Tarkas' service, many Force adepts are conscripted in the Crimson Vanguard for quick, incredibly disciplined training. They have most of the same gear as stormtroopers, but wear the crimson cortosis armor of the Imperial Knights, and along with a standard blaster rifle, they have a blaster pistol and a cortosis vibrosword. This has put a great strain on Master Armorer Viram Albek.

Imperial Politics
After Empress Marasiah Fel reclaimed the Empire from Darth Krayt, she punished the Moffs for their treachery by reducing their authority. The Emperor's Will could always override consensus of the Moff Council. Furthermore, the Council did not rule alone: the Empress added a democratically-elected legislature, the Imperial Assembly, that also had the power to override the Council.

The Moff Coucil: The upper house of Imperial legislature. The expansion of the Empire has increased the number of positions on the Moff Council: the current number is 325.

High Moff Council: A group of six of the most powerful Moffs that perform important functions for the Empire. The High Moff Council is now something of a Cabinet of advisors to the Emperor; their main powers now is that they control appointment and dismissal of Moffs (though either can be done by action of the Emperor or Tribunal) and they can serve as a Regency Council should the Emperor be unable to perform his duties. The High Moff Council represents Intelligence, the Mission, the Diplomatic Corps, the Army and the Navy. The current members of the High Moff Council loyal to Tarkas are as follows:
High Moff: Gilad Fenel, of House Fenel.
Director of Intelligence: Jural Henash
Leader of the Mission: Irial Leta
Chief of the Diplomatic Corps: Shonmai Kolina, descendant of Mon Cal refugees who joined the Empire.
Moff-General of the Imperial Army: Tura Kentar
Moff-Admiral of the Imperial Navy: Jiron Paltiar

The Assembly of the Imperial Tribune: Or the Imperial Assembly for short. The lower house of Imperial legislature, elected by popular vote. The original Assembly building is on Bastion, but Lithan's Empire has established one in the Imperial Palace on Coruscant.

Diet of Imperial Planetary Governors: A legislative body representing each planet in the Empire. They elected by a small margin to declare Lithan Fel the True Emperor.

Political Parties and Movements
Imperial Unity Party: Before the war began, they were the majority party in the Imperial Assembly. Now, most of their numbers have joined Lithan's cause, and are unpopular among the Loyalists because they have common ground with the enemy. They believe that the Emperor should be the supreme power in the Empire, and oppose the powers of Moffs. They are a big tent party: they have strong support in all classes and races. Aside from curbing Moff powers, they are divided on many issues.
Solidarity Party: The Solidarity Party's base is largely of the mostly-alien working urban class, but its leaders are largely ideologue nobility. It opposes large corporations, and believes that intergalactic corporations should be given no special privileges, should be taxed for their operations in Imperial space, and should be forced to pay higher minimum wages and provide better conditions. They are vehemently opposed to slavery and are the main advocate of alien rights. They support Imperialization of industry. The previous emperor, Soontir I, was an advocate of Imperialization, and the Solidarity Party grew greatly during his reign. However, Tarkas has privatized many of the businesses and industries that were run by the Empire during his father's reign, so many of the Solidarity Party are sympathetic to Lithan, who also supports Imperialization. Furthermore, much of Solidarity's supporters came from Coruscant and other city worlds, so while for most of its history it has been a minor party, it is the majority of Lithan's Imperial Assembly. The members of Solidarity Party are often very patriotic, as they see the Empire as an alternative to the corrupt capitalism of the Alliance. A good number of their ranks support the Moral Empire movement.
Federal Party: The main opposition to Imperial Unity, this party largely believes in decentralization and is very pro-business and supports the rights of Moffs. The party's support grew greatly during the later years of Soontir Fel's reign, when Solidarity led the coalition government. His Imperialization and business-unfriendly policies led to a sharp decline in the entire Imperial economy, as intergalactic corporations stopped investing in the Empire to invest in the Galactic Alliance or other more pro-business entities. Much of the working class, who had been Solidarity's base since its inception, were outraged at the massive unemployment and supported the Federal Party. Recently, much of the support for the Property Rights Act came from Federals. They currently have a majority in Bastion and have no formal presence in Coruscant.
New Order Movement: Named after the Declaration of a New Order, which created the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY, they are extreme conservatives who want to return the Empire to the ways of Palpatine's Empire. They believe in heavy-handed foreign policy: death for all rebels, rebel sympathizers, or dissidents, and the complete destruction of the Galactic Alliance. They are anti-alien, believing they should be made subservient or enslaved. They are divided on the powers of the Moff, however: some believe that Moffs should be returned the powers they were allowed in the early days of the Empire, while some believe that the Emperor's authority should be supreme over the Moffs. The most radical elements of the movement believe that a Sith should rule the Empire, though this is only spoken of in secret. This movement strongly supports Tarkas.
Supreme Sovereignty Movement: A movement that arise following the tradition of strong Emperors powerful in the Force. Many formed a personality cult of the Emperor, and those that worship the Living Force saw it embodied in him. When it was known that Tarkas was the first emperor since before Roan Fel to have no connection to the Force, those of the movement distanced themselves from the Emperor and saw his brother as the embodiment of the Light Side. Those who follow this ideology are the foundation of Lithan's support.
Moral Empire Movement: The Empire has changed greatly since the days of Palpatine. Some simply see the Fel Empire as a direct continuation of the Galactic Empire, and any changes it has made have been adapting to the necessities of a changing galaxy (or, in the case of the New Order Movement, have been for the worse). However, the Moral Empire movement sees these changes as proof that the Empire and the Galaxy at large are improving. They see the Fel Empire as different from Palpatine's Empire, and believe that they should shun it as part of their history. They believe the Empire should make amends for the atrocities the Galactic Empire and the Sith that controlled have done; in particular, making reparation payments to Alderaanians, and helping to make Dac, which was devastated by Krayt's Empire, livable again. They are some of the main supporters of the Imperial Mission. The Moralists are mostly neutral in the civil war, and support peace with the Galactic Alliance.

Yudrak Uving: The Chief of State of the Galactic Alliance. A warmonger, Uving persuaded the Senate to declare war on the Empire as soon as they were divided, arguing that the lost sectors must be reclaimed for the preservation of the Alliance.

Alliance Military:
Alliance Army:
Alliance Navy: Emphasizes endurance over speed.

The Senate: The legislative body of the Galactic Alliance, elected by popular vote.

Renegade Jedi: Jedi who have left the Order to support the Alliance's war effort. They believe that the Empire will always be a force of evil and oppression, and that any benevolence or good will it displays is a facade. To them, the only way to bring peace to the Galaxy is by ending the Empire and bringing Alliance rule to all systems.

The One Sith: The philosophy of Darth Krayt was passed on by his surviving pupils, including Krayt's Hand, Darth Nihl, who led the One Sith following the collapse of Krayt's Empire. After Nihl's death, the title of Dark Lord of the One Sith passed often, and is currently held by Darth Abhor. Darth Nihl and his successors had followed Krayt's original message, one of galactic unity through the Sith. However, Abhor altered their purpose to follow Krayt's message after resurrection: that for the galaxy to know peace, it must first be laid to waste.

Wyyrlokites: Needless to say, Abhor's ideology was unpopular with many Sith. Darth Wyyrlok's daughter, Saarai, had used the methods her family had used to sustain Darth Krayt on herself, and she has survived the century after Krayt's defeat. She led the opposition to Abhor's One Sith, adhering to the original message: that the entire galaxy can be brought into the One Sith. The One Sith call Saarai and her followers Wyyrlokites, believing their treachery to be identical to Saarai's father's treachery against Krayt.

The Old Sith: These Force-users follow the in the path of the Sith who ruled the Empire during Darth Vitiate's reign, nearly 5,000 years ago. They believe that the Sith have been led to heresy for thousands of years, corrupted by Jedi traditions. They believe in many Sith, each following their own path to power. They are led by Darth Ul'krek, and control the ancient Sith world of Ziost, among other planets.

The Two Sith: Darth Vexo and his apprentice, Darth Enodia, a Togruta, follow Darth Bane's Rule of Two, and seek to gain power by destroying all other Sith. They are seen as a threat to the other Sith factions, and once they arrived on Korriban, the warring Sith factions united to try and destroy them. However, the pair, along with their growing army of Dark Side minions, proved too powerful, and they were given the same rights of study as the other Sith. They are on Korriban to study prophecies and artifacts of the Sith'ari, Bane, in order to gain insight to how to deal with the heresies of the newer Sith.

The Jedi Coalition:The Jedi have officially broken all ties to the Alliance due to its militaristic war on the Empire and independent systems. While not officially a government, several neutral systems have asked for protection from them. The Hidden Temple at Taivas, used after the Massacre at Ossus, became the main Jedi Temple due to its defensibility.

The Chiss Ascendancy: Longtime allies of the Empire, the Chiss are a cautious and calculating people. They have a strong military discipline in their society, but they do not rush in to conflicts, so they are currently neutral in the Third Imperial Civil War.

The Hapan Consortium: A hereditary monarchy ruled by a Queen Mother, the Hapans had ties to the Galactic Empire, which were strengthened by Roan Fel's marriage to a Hapan. Like Roan, Lithan has married a Hapan noblewoman, so many Hapans are inclined to support him. However, they are currently neutral.

The Yuuzhan Vong: An extragalactic species that invaded the galaxy in 25 ABY. After their invasion was defeated, they were allowed to peacefully settle in the galaxy, and their Shapers help to undo the ecological impact of Yuuzhan Vong occupation of planets. However, their terraforming attempts were sabotaged by the One Sith, and even though they were vindicated, they are still despised throughout the galaxy.

Dac Diaspora: After the Sith's planetwide genocide of the planet Dac, or Mon Calamari, the planet's former residents have been without any place to call home. Most of the Mon Calamari species joined the Galactic Alliance, some joined the Empire; throughout the galaxy, one can find a "New Dac" settlement, or a "Little Dac" in a city, but there is no one place they have moved to. Some were unable or unwilling to find a new home, so they wandered space, some in legitimate business, most involved in smuggling, piracy and plunder. Thus, the Dac refugees, especially the Mon Calamari (renowned for their spaceship engineering_, became some of the most skilled spacers in the galaxy. Some of them were recruited by the Alliance Navy; the Spacer Ace Fleet gained many recruits.

The Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium:The Ssi-ruuk are a warlike Saurian species who invaded the galaxy about the same time as the Battle of Endor, conquering several worlds in the Unknown Regions and creating a Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium, ruled by a Ssi-ruu called a Shreeftut. They were defeated by another conqueror race, the Yuuzhan Vong. However, following the Vong's defeat, the Ssi-Ruuk began to resettle their core worlds, and attempted to reclaim those worlds they lost. They are in constant conflict with the P'w'eck, natives of the Ssi-ruuk homeworld Lwhekk, who are fighting for liberation. However, they are mostly isolationist, due to their fear that dying on an "unconsecrated" world will deny them an afterlife. The Ssi-ruuk are known for their entechment, which used the life-energy of their captives to power their ships and weapons.

Coruscant: After the collapse of the Galactic Federation Triumverate, Coruscant was partitioned hemispherically between the Fel Empire and the Galactic Alliance, as both claim it as their capital, the Jedi Temple and all locations relevant to the Jedi being sovereign territory of their Coalition. Tarkas had typically ruled from Bastion, where most governmental institutions and functions were still held, whereas Lithan was always trying to win over the hearts and minds of the Galaxy to the Empire, and where better to do that than divided Coruscant? As he had already many supporters there, Lithan was able to wrest control of the Imperial half of Coruscant from his brother's forces almost bloodlessly; reminiscent to many of Roan Fel's capture of Bastion. So far, the Jedi Coalition has mediated between the three belligerents and maintance a ceasefire around Coruscant, though many fear that war will come to the city-world, and that the impact of the war on the massive population will be devastating, with civilian casualties in the billions in this front alone.

Bastion:After the fall of Coruscant to the Rebel Alliance in the first Galactic Civil War, the Imperial Remnant established a capital on the Outer Rim planet of Sartinaynian, renaming it "Bastion," as it would serve as a fortress of the Remnant's forces. Once Jagged Fel became Emperor, an Imperial Palace was built in the capital city of Ravelin. Tarkas' loyalist forces remain strong here, and Lithan would not yet dare an assault, though he certainly does have some spies and sympathizers.

Korriban: Despite the constant warring of the Sith, all followers of the Dark Side have agreed that Korriban is holy ground. Students of the Dark learn at the Sith Academy, and are able to independently decide their philosophy. While the Sith factions do not engage in open conflict of the planet, Sith acolytes are free to attack and kill acolytes of rival philosophies to gain favor with their masters.

Csilla: Capital of the Chiss Ascendancy.

Hapes: Capital of the Hapan Consortium.

Dac: Also known as Mon Calamari. The One Sith committed planetwide genocide on Dac using Sith biological weapons, killing off the entire population that was unable to escape. After the Second Imperial Civil War ended, efforts to cleanse the planet have been made by the Triumverate. Allowing a basic level of habitation on the planet was one of the few triumphs of the failed intergalactic government. After the Triumverate fell apart, and tensions mounted between Alliance and Empire, the Alliance asked the Imperial Mission to leave its post on the planet. However, the Empire refused, believing that if they left, their settlement efforts would be jeapordized, and the citizens they were protecting could be endangered. Dac was once the capital of the Alliance, however, and they see any Imperial presence as an insult. The settlement efforts on both sides have largely remain undisturbed by the war, though the Imperials claim the Alliance has tried to sabotage their settlement efforts.

Naboo: Though it had been part of the Alliance for generations, the Queen of Naboo, Ryatha, married Soontir Fel. Because of this, Soontir did much to develop Naboo, and the Emperor became popular to the Naboo, particularly in the capital, Theed. Despite this, many of the Alliance criticized the marriage, believing it to be an attempt to incur on Alliance territory. But Soontir and Ryatha had a loving relationship, and had three children together: Tarkas, Lithan, and Felara. Soontir was murdered by the Dark Jedi Grinan Talg. Ryatha blamed the Jedi ways for letting Talg fall to the Dark Side, and she kicked off all Jedi from Naboo. Soon, fearing that her grief may make her unfit to rule, she was encouraged by her advisors to abdicate. Felara was elected Queen of Naboo, though many contest her selection, as Naboo has not been a hereditary monarchy for millenia. Once the Galactic Alliance declared war on the Empire, Felara proclaimed secession. While many of the Naboo strongly support her and the Empire, she is opposed by a strong contingent of Alliance loyalists who support Piyaka, the candidate for monarchy whom many believe was cheated out of the throne by Ryatha. The Naboo resistance are supported the Gungans and their Grand Gungan Army. However, one Otolla warlord known as Boss Rabawin, ruler of Otoh Mandassa, is rebelling and has accepted Imperial aid.

Growth of the Imperial Nobility: Through the many incarnations of the Empire since its founding in 19 BBY, there have been some who have shown supreme loyalty and dedication. Their legacies have been celebrated in Imperial events of many kinds, so much that their names have become unforgettable. For most of its history, the Empire never truly had any form of nobility, due to its militarism. However, its closest allies, the Hapans and Chiss, are run by the nobility. Furthermore, the Empire has a strong tradition of nepotism, so many children of Imperial heroes have been awarded positions more for their name than their service. As a result, the families that have shown outstanding dedication across multiple generations have evolved into patrician houses with much political power. The nobility focus less on foreign and military matters, instead dealing with local matters, such as developing their estate's planet, supporting the Mission, and other things. Most are human, but there are many aliens in the nobility as well. These are some of the major noble houses of the Empire:
House Pellaeon: Gilad Pellaeon, founder of the house, was a veteran of the Clone Wars, Swarm War, Yuuzhan Vong War, and both Galactic Civil Wars. His illegitamte daughter, who he had kept hidden for many years, served under Jagged Fel, and her descendants have faithfully supported the Fel Emperor, during the Second Imperial Civil War and the Moff's Rebellion. The House officially supports Tarkas, though some of the family have left to support Lithan.
House Makati: Descendants of Grand Admiral Afsheen Makati. They support Lithan, and the leader of the House, Himal, is Grand General of Lithan's Imperial Army.
House Fenel: Descendants of Admiral Edouard Fenel, who loyally and recklessly served Roan Fel during the Sith-Imperial War and the Second Imperial Civil War. House Fenel supports Tarkas.
House Wessel: Generations of the Wessel family have served in the Empire; Marcelli Wessel was one of Palpatine's first Moffs. Currently neutral.
House Vao: Astraal Vao was a Twi'lek Missionary, sister to Jedi Shado Vao. After Konrad Rus was removed from his position due to his collaboration with the Sith, Astraal Vao was made leader of the Mission and a member of the Moff Council by Empress Marasiah Fel. Though she joined the Empire for pacifistic reasons, her descendants became Imperial Knights and military officers. The current members are Juulo, the head of the House and estate, Luma, Grand Admiral of Lithan's Imperial Navy, and Ulin, an Imperial Knight. House Vao has declared for Lithan.

Fall of the Triumverate: After the Second Imperial Civil War, a Galactic Federation Triumverate was declared: a coalition of the Alliance, Empire, and Jedi Coalition. However, bitterness between the Alliance and Empire was strong after the war. Many of the Alliance blamed Fel and his Empire for the destruction of the Sith-Imperial War, and many Imperials looked down on the Alliance and their "chaotic" ways. The Shapers' sabotage was blamed on both the Jedi, for their collaboration with the Yuuzhan Vong, and the Empire, for their alliance with the Sith. Moreover, ideological differences between Imperial Knights and Jedi gave way to conflict among the younger members of both orders, and most Jedi still despised the Empire for the Massacre at Ossus. The Triumverate was doomed from the start, made worse by the fact that its architect, Hogrum Chalk, was revealed to have been a spy for Darth Kraty during the war. Only six years after its creation, the Triumverate collapsed, leaving hostility between its constituents instead of peace. As a result, Coruscant was divided between the Alliance and Empire.

Revival of the Slave Trade: Slavery was common both in the Galactic Empire and the Imperial Remnant. However, Jagged Fel's reign saw a great reduction in slavery in the Empire, and Marasiah I outlawed it outright. However, as the Empire continued to expand into the Outer Rim, many neutral worlds would only agree to annexation if their rights to own slaves was not infringed. The Ravelin Annexation Decree was made in 187 ABY, allowing such systems to join the Empire under the following conditions: slavery could not be made illegal in these "slavery zones" of newly-incorporated Imperial territories, but that the trade must remain within these zones and could not be proliferated to the core of Imperial space; enslaving free citizens was illegal, but servitude could be decided as a punishment by an accused criminal; and finally, that all species could own slaves, and that freed slaves would be treated as free citizens of the Empire. The slaveowners from these systems, as well as Moffs, nobles, and New Order Imperials, began to petition for slavery to be legalized once again throughout the Empire. Finally, in the early years of the reign of Tarkas II, a bill was brought before the Imperial Assembly, called the Property Rights Defense Act. Backed by many megacorporations for its clauses protecting their activities in Imperial Space, the bill was narrowly passed. Like all bills passed by the Assembly and approved by the Moff Council, it came before the Emperor who would ultimately decide if it would become law. Despite Lithan's strong opposition, Tarkas decided it was the Emperor's Will that the bill become law. He has never spoken for or against slavery, and it is typical for an Emperor to avoid vetoing a law if he does not believe it threatens the Empire; however, the Legitimists have long denounced Tarkas for this, calling him a "slavelord." As a result of his action, the systems in the "slavery zones" strongly support Tarkas. When Lithan declared himself Emperor, he encouraged many slaves to rise against their masters to join him. Therefore, Lithan is popular among freed slaves, and his forces have several "Freedmen's Brigades."

The Arumai Incident: Arumai was an insignificant planet in the Outer Rim that had long belonged to the Empire. But the Treaty of Coruscant that dissolved the Triumverate left the planet in Alliance hands. Around 235 ABY, a strong Pro-Imperial movement began. Before long, Imperial sympathizers violently took control of the capital, Buroonat, and requested annexation by the Empire. Before the Arumai Alliance forces could retake the capital, the Empire had invaded and wrested control of the planet. Tarkas declared that "the Arumai are Imperials at heart, and the Empire cannot abandon any of its loyal citizens." Such a provacative move outraged the Alliance, and war seemed inevitable. But the Alliance Chief of State, Cal Higar, fought for peace. The Empire's actions created outrage and militance among the citizens of the Alliance. Higar was impeached for treason and cowardice, and Yudrak Uving was elected.

Allegiance of Alien Species: The Republic and its successors have always been openly tolerant of nearly all alien species. The Empire, on the other hand, has, for the most part, been almost entirely constituted of humans. Alien rights and involvement in the Empire have drastically improvement over two and a half centuries, but the Alliance still maintains the support of most alien races. Some of the more widespread spacefaring species, such as the Duros and the Twi'lek, are often found in the Empire (particularly Lithan's), there are some species that the Empire has a strong base of support with:
Pantoran
Sullustan: Soro-Suub, the largest corporation and de facto leadership of Sullust, has supported the Empire for decades. They support Tarkas, due to his pro-business policies. However, Soro-Suub and its Loyalist allies are strongly opposed by the Worker's Collective, a terrorist organization that operates throughout the Empire. It is suspected that they are supported by an enemy government, either the Legalists or the Alliance.
Trandoshan
Quarren
Kaleesh
Devaronian
Mustafarian
Muun: Despite the early Galactic Empire's anti-alien practices, Muunilist was not interfered with due to its significance to the galactic economy. Likewise, the Muuns did not move against the Empire, as it would harm their interests. As such, Muunilist remained part of the Empire for all of its history.
Umbaran
The alien species that most strongly support the Alliance are:
Wookie
Mon Calamari
Gran
Gungan
Nautolan
Togruta
Cathar
Ithorian

Death Squadron: Leviathan, Tyrannical (Tector Class), Dominion (Imperial II class), Upholder (Imperial II class), Monolith (Tector class), Imposer (Imperial II class), Death's Head (Imperial II class), Imperial Judgment (Pellaeon class), the Emperor's Wrath (Pellaeon class), Conviction (Interdictor Star Destroyer), Imprisoner (Interdictor Star Destroyer)

Biography: Jackson Valoran is a Rear Admiral in the Imperial Navy. He was born on Coruscant, to a lower class family in the slums. He was fascinated with the Empire the Imperial half to be specific. As a child, he looked up to the Empire as a larger than life entity, viewing it as a source of stability and justice. At the age of sixteen, he enlisted in the Imperial Navy, where he displayed a natural talent for strategic and tactical operations. At the age of 18, his commanding officer recommended him for officer training, which he attended for four years. During this time, he showed an unexpected aptitude for capital ship operations, preforming admirably in his trainings. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a Lieutenant and assigned to the Tector Class Star Destroyer, Tyrannical. He served on this vessel for 9 years, achieving the position of second in command on the ship after three. It was on the fifth year, during a routine patrol, that the Tyrannical was ambushed by several pirate vessels. During this skirmish, the Tyrannical was damaged severely and the Captain was killed when the bridge took a hit from a turbolaser during a lapse in the shields protection. This left Valoran in command of the Tyrannical, and while commanding the crippled vessel he managed to destroy the majority of the pirate force, taking the ship behind an asteroid field. Behind the field, he drew out the enemy one by one, easily dispatching the separated enemy vessels with the Tyrannical's superior armament. After this battle Valoran was promoted to captain, the Tyrannical was repaired, and Valoran commanded the vessel for four years. During this time, he won several major battles against pirate forces and was promoted to Rear Admiral, placed in command of a task force with the task of combating piracy around major shipyards. Valoran crushed several major pirate strongholds, and in doing so attracted the Emperor's personal attention. Valoran's personal approach to battle used a capital ship centric doctrine, which had been largely replaced with a starfighter/carrier centric doctrine by since the times of Isaard. While this made some view him as a man obsessed with past tactics, it gave him a distinct advantage when commanding capital ships. Because of this, coupled with Valoran's charismatic personality which made people naturally like him, the Emperor reassigned Valoran to a new post. Rear Admiral Jackson Valoran was given control of the Leviathan, one of the final, if not the final Executor Class Super Star Destroyers still in existence. He was placed in command of a squadron responsible for the security of several systems. Occasionally, the squadron also handled the security for the Emperor himself. He was given the authority to rename his force, which he named Death Squadron, because as a child he had obsessed over the "Old Empire" and decided what better way to convey intimidation over his foes than to draw inspiration from one of the most intimidating forces in the history of the Galactic Empire, the original Death Squadron headed by Darth Vader himself. Rear Admiral Valoran was fiercely loyal to the Emperor, to the point of blind loyalty. When Lithan launched his rebellion, Valoran was with his squadron on a patrol of a major system, under a full Admiral loyal to Lithan, who commanded a Pellaeon class star destroyer as his flagship and approximately a dozen other capital ships (mainly Pellaeon star destroyers). Valoran and his Death Squadron were ordered by the Admiral to surrender their vessels to Lithan, but Valoran refused. While the Admiral had an advantage when it came to the bulk of the fleet, he didn't want to risk it while the Leviathan was present and fled into hyperspace. Valoran hyperspaced to the capital, Bastion, to report to the Emperor.

Upon his coming of age Joesph applied to the Imperial Navy and was accepted as a low ranking bridge officer. Early in his carrier, Joesph gave an outstanding performance against Mercenary pirates. Climbing the ranks by outstanding performance, his uncle eventually used political ties to have him appointed to Admiral.

Name, including any ranks: Darth Metrox
Age: 27
Gender: Male.
Species: Hapan.
Appearance: No One Has Seen His Face.
Allegiance: N/A
Fighting style: Fights using his two sabers in a style similar to Asaj Ventress, and when his sabers are linked, he fights like Darth Maul.

Vehicles: The "Biggy", a Sith Class-8 Fighter. Can hold up to Seven [7] people, but currently only holds Thomas.
Biography: Darth Metrox was born and raised on an Outer-Rim world. Since these worlds were influenced by the Sith, it makes sense he grew up wanting to be one. However, when he was discovered to be strong with the Force, the Old Sith took him to Korriban to train. Metrox learned quickly, being very strong and powerful with the Force. It's unfortunate, though, that the Sith who trained and discovered him did not foresee how powerful he would become. Metrox was one of the few Sith who acquired the "red" lightning force, an ability extremely powerful - and deadly to those it's used upon. Metrox grew angry when the Sith told him that he could not be trained anymore. His master was assigned to kill him, and when the attempt was made... his master was the one who was dead. Metrox escaped using the "Biggy", his ex-master's fighter. Metrox retreated away into space, having landed on Neutralist Space Station. He stayed there, hidden from the Sith at all costs. He trained secretly in his own room, ensuring that he sensed no Jedi or Sith were near. Metrox plans his revenge on the Sith - and the Jedi who, he thinks failed to save him from his path. Metrox grows stronger in the Dark Side every day, but he does not seem to work for any faction.

While the Admiral had an advantage when it came to the bulk of the fleet, he didn't want to risk it while the Leviathan was present and fled into hyperspace. Valoran hyperspaced to the capital, Bastion, to report to the Emperor.

RP Example:
As the shuttle came out of hyperspace, a far more massive vessel came into view. The vessel that the occupants of this shuttle now looked upon, was the "Monolithic", a heavily modified Providence destroyer. The vessel was a 1,400 meter long Providence destroyer, with its own control computer which allowed it to operate independently of a droid control ship, while controlling its own crew and troop compliment as well. It also possessed enhanced shielding and additional weaponry, when compared with other ships of the class. For the first time in quite a while, Krassus smiled. He looked upon his vessel with a sense of power. As they entered the ships hangar, Volkar turned and spoke to his new aquintances. "Welcome to the Monolithic, as I have observed, neither of you are good friends with Republic. Well today is your lucky day. Follow me, do not wander, the last thing we need is you triggering the security systems on this ship. I do not need you to get us killed. Now lets go." With that, he opened the shuttles hatch and stepped onto his warship. He walked to the elevator and punched in a security code, which activated the elevator. He and his party stepped onto the elevator and they began to rise. After a short while, the elevator came to a stop. They stepped out and were greeted by a view of a large room, the flag bridge. Standing in the center, over a holographic display of the galaxy, was a large and intimidating figure. Volkar walked over to the hulking figure, nodded respectfully and inserted a datachip into the table. He then entered a code and the ship roared to life. Valkor turned to the hulking figure and spoke. "Hello General, everything is in order. I apologize for the delay, my shuttle was damaged." Valkor then faced his accomplices. "My friends, may I introduce to you, General Grievous." With that, the hulking figure turned and spoke in a deep booming voice, punctuated with a distinct involuntary cough. "Congratulations, you have just been brought to witness the rebirth of the Confederacy. I am General Grievous, please, state your purposes of being here or I will be forced to assume the worse. If you cooperate, the Admiral will ensure that you are taken care of properly." Almost as if it was a signal, at the end of Grievous's short statement, 6 magna droids and 6 super battle droids entered the room. Valkor was no longer in a position of helplessness, this was his ship, these were his droids, and he was now in control of the situation.

Great app! If we get a few more in we'll go ahead and start the IC.

Updated the info a good bit. Still can't come up with a good name for the Imperial factions. I want to be able to refer to Tarkas' Empire as the ____ Empire, and Lithan's as the ____ Empire, but I can't come up with a name for either.

Nah, go ahead and make a new post. That way we'll know when you've put it up. Also it'll bump the thread and generate more traffic to this thread.

Ort: You can RP whoever you want, as long as it makes sense with the story. The RP and it's backstory are flexible, and if you guys think some change should be made to it to make it better and more interesting, please tell me. I would very much value your opinions.
Joshuila: you can if you want and you think you'd do a good job. He's a very important character, so if you'd like to RP as him just discuss it with me.

Also, I can't believe I forgot the Hutt Cartel and the gangs in the faction list! I'll add them now.

I think we should get about 3 or 4 apps in before we start the IC, though I have my plan for the OP so if you guys just want to start early to get a feel for it that's fine too. Let me know of any thoughts or suggestions you have.

Well, time to break out my Traviss knuckles...

Name, including any ranks: Sukav Vau
Age: 43
Gender: Male
Species: Mandalorian Human
Appearance: 6'2, 190 lbs. Very muscled. Despite weight is gaunt in appearance. Dons Grey Armour for the mourning of a lost love. Generally wears a long coat over armour. Mandalorian descent. Dark eyes. Military-cropped Black hair.
Allegiance (if any): Mandalorian Bounty Hunter
Fighting style: Sukav is completely analytical and generally prepares for most expected events. Generally tries to know every piece of information as is possible before taking the offensive. Ultimately he's agile, dirty and never one to pull punches from anyone.
Equipment: Black Mandalorian-style armour forged of Beskar-Durasteel alloy with relevant attachments. DC-17 Assault Blaster Carbine. Verpine Shatter Sniper Rifle. Multitude of thermal detonators and other combat/surveillance gadgets.
Vehicles: Amphibious Interstellar Assault Transport Gunship
Biography: Sukav Vau, best bounty hunter in the galaxy, the man Heads of State call to get Fierfek done under the Radar and the terror of bounties everywhere. It's perhaps unsurprising that this man has so many demons.

Vau was born in one of the many Mandalorian clans, he was raised with the Suprecomando codex at heart and a knife at hand. Sukav's father was a harsh and conservative man who drilled the boy more than did actual parenting, taking his sun hunting aged 6 and beating him when he did not learn quickly enough. As the youngest child Sukav had to battle hard for every scrap of respect from the elder children. While Sukav never knew, his fighting spirit made him dad's favourite, with Sukav making his first kill at 8.

When the time came for Vau to move out, he was granted a place among the Protectors and eventually reached the level of Suprecommando after numerous mercenary assignments. By the time Vau was 26 he was the 9th protectorate of the current Mandalore, making him the equivalent of a general among mandalorians. Vau led in numerous actions before he met his wife, A Bothan freighter pilot who gave information to the wargroup's employer. After 3 years they were married by mandalorian customs and Vau retired amiably to CorSec. When Vau was struggling for money an old mercenary friend approached him about some high-paying wetwork, Vau accepted and it seemed as though the job went off without a hitch, until Vau returned from the office one day to find his wife shot dead and their flat searched.

Vau returned to the Suprecomandos, gradually working his way back to 9th protectorate, where he was working for another 2 years. Vau eventually took to bounty hunting for Mandalore, gradually raising in renown until this point.

RP Example: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=274661&start=75

Thorak looked as the ropes snapped from Ekta's hands "Oh, we're allowed to do that?" Snap. The ropes lay sundered at Thorak's feet. Thorak turned back to Evalin and said "You say you kill to survive, you survive by your wits now. However how long could you keep up this life of adventuring? Could your wits and blade be as fast at fifty? Seventy? In my youth I believed I would remain strong, whilst I remain strong my bones now ache for having been once broken, old cuts and wounds feel soar in my armour. A life of adventure is an exciting one, no doubt, but I have seen enough, perhaps too much, excitement for now. My name is Thorak the Ineffable, I am afraid I have no names that do me good credit and I would have willingly been born an Ared to spare me of my pain." And with that he exited the carriage and went into the Solar "Where are the rop-" "Not important!" he said to a guard on the way in. "Will we be permitted our equipment?" Was the only question he offered in the discussion.

Well, time to break out my Traviss knuckles...

Name, including any ranks: Mandalore Sukav Vau

Vau returned to the Suprecomandos and worked his way back up to 8th protectorate, where he was working for another 2 years. Vau led a force of 100 Suprecommandos and 150 Protectors as a mandalorian festival was being held. Mandalore was destroyed in a force-storm between multiple powerful dark-side users while the group was gone, Vau's only words upon seeing the wreck was "They always die while you're out". As the highest ranking mandalorian left in the galaxy, Vau was made Mandalore, however with only 250 men left, that didn't mean much. The Mandalorians scattered throughout the galaxy, Vau taking to bounty hunting and gradually raising in renown until this point. Vau is moving slowly towards the prophecy of the Mandalorian's end, whether he knows it or not. Vau will eventually be the last mandalorian, nothing but a broken man in Beskar, who will be all to easy for a jedi to kill. It's not a great life, but someone has to have it.

RP Example: I'll have it soon.

I love your app, I just don't like that your character starts off as the Mandalore. If you want a high position, earn it through RPing. I'm sure there will be others who will want to RP as Mandos, and I want them to be able to compete with you to get the title. Also, please don't try and determine the fate of the Mandos before the RP begins. Fix these two things and you'll be accepted.

Sorry, I kind of looked at the whole doom prophecy thing and decided it would be a cool story arc. That was a bit of a hasty character retcon.

It's fine, I just don't want to set a precedent where everyone wants to be the leader of this or that. And I'm not aware of the Doom Prophecy, could you explain or link me to an explanation?

Quick question, what is the general Imperial attitude about non-human races (in comparison to the Empire's attitude)? I wanted to make an alien character who was apart of the Crimson Vanguard and I was wondering how realistic this would be. While it's fun to play that uber-talented character who climbs up the ranks despite stigma against them, it's a little cliche.

It's in the mandalorian entry on wookiepeedia, but essentially Darth Treya used foresight to predict the millenia-long deterioration of the Mandalorians, until there is one shell of a man dying to a jedi.

In the Fel Empire, the military is fully integrated. By the time of Roan Fel's reign (about a century before this), aliens were commonly used as stormtroopers, with unique armor for each race. The Empire is mostly human, so the top positions would mostly be filled with humans, but there are still plenty of aliens in high places. In the Legacy series I don't remember seeing a single alien in the Imperial Knights. However, there is no official discrimination. In this RP, I think I put at least two aliens on the High Moff Council, and there are alien nobility. So pretty much the only thing keeping an alien from rising through the ranks is the prejudice of his superiors. So while there is still a good deal of anti-alien sentiment in the Empire, and there are groups like New Order (see the OP) that want to subjugate aliens, an alien in the Crimson Vanguard is more than reasonable.
I'm glad that you don't want to make a cliche character. Also, I'm glad you like my Crimson Vanguard idea :p

Hey guys, you should probably check the OP every now and then, I'm updating and expanding it often. I really need some ideas for how the Galactic Alliance is in this time period. I can't really decide how they've changed over the century. Like I've been saying, the backstory is flexible, and I value your input. If there's anything you think would make the RP more interesting, please suggest it. I like feedback.

Also, I'll try to add military sections for the factions soon.

While there's always room for more, it seems that, once everyone gets their app in, we'll have enough to begin. But I'd really like to make sure that there is diversity in the characters, and that at least the big three factions (Tarkas, Lithan, & Alliance) are represented, and hopefully we'll have a few Sithies, even if we can't represent the other factions. So if you know anyone who might be interested, encourage them to join.

Name, including any ranks: General Cal Viszla
Age: 29
Gender: Male
Species: Mandalorian
Appearance: Image
Allegiance (if any): Formerly The Fel Claimant
Now The New Remnant
Fighting style: Form VII Lightsaber Combat
Equipment: Darksaber and Blood Red Lightsaber. Specialized vambraces to hide and eject the lightsabers. Two Westar-35 Blaster Pistols. Beskar Clone Wars Era (Pre Viszla) Deathwatch armor.
Vehicles: Kom'rk-class fighter/transport
Biography: Cal Viszla is the descendant of Pre Viszla leader of the Deathwatch during the Clone Wars. He was born and raised on Mandalore. When the Empire ruled once again he joined the Military climbing the ranks and being known as the most brutal and feared soldier. He was taken in as an Imperial Knight, later he was growing bored. He was transferred to the Front lines using his Relative's Armor and ancient weapon he was a near unstoppable trooper. A Jedi Renegade attacked him while on patrol The Jedi mysteriously had a red sith saber. He kept the new saber secret from his superiors and fellow troops. The Moffs recruited his to help lead their troops, the problem was the moffs hadn't given him the manpower or equipment to defeat those for the last stand. He killed off the other Generals and helped establish the world.

RP Example:
Viszla stumbled out from the person that jumped ontop of him. "The Hell?!" Cal was stunned and confused. He seen the man pull out a small tube.
"Crap...." Cal knew exactly what that tube was. He tried to eject his Darksaber *click click* "Son of a..." The ejection port of the vambrace was stuck there was no way of getting the Darksaber out. The Jedi ignited the blade, the blade was a deep blood red saber. The Jedi smiled, "I've never killed an Imp Bounty Hunter."

"I am no bounty hunter. I am a Soldier!" exclaimed the furious Cal. He had pulled one of the blasters. Cal fired three rapid shots and one precise fired shot. The first three were deflected the other hit the leg of the Jedi.

"A Soldier! HA! I can see that now with your aim!" the Jedi gritted. The Jedi rushed and slashed at the Mandalorian. The Beskar deflected all the blows leaving mildly deep slash marks. Cal's Helmet flew off.

"I'll have to kill you for that." Muttered Cal.

The Jedi slashed again this time catching a part of the cheek of Cal.

Cal ran at the Jedi, tackled him he then fired multiple shots into the Jedi's side..... Killing him. Cal took the saber and Hid it.

OK, I like the premise for your character, but there's some things that should be touched up. First off, explain why Cal left the Imperial Knights. Did he have a bloodlust that the Knights weren't satisfying? Was he tired of the restrictions they imposed upon him? Which also brings up the question of how a Mandalorian warrior joins the Knights anyway. The Knights would know of the Mando's reputation for being bloodthirsty warriors; he would have to prove to them that he could remain dutiful. Also, Cal would know that the Knights don't just go around conquering and killing like a Mando might want, so why would he join them in the first place? And you can't just leave the Knights: it's a lifelong oath. If you do, you will be hunted down by them for the rest of your life, and if you are recognized in Imperial space you will be arrested and executed. Though I suppose that would provide a good reason for him joining the New Remnant. And finally, the biggest problem, your last two sentences don't really seem to make much sense. What last stand are you talking about? What generals does he kill, and what does "establish the world" mean? Answer these questions, go deeply into your character's backstory, and you'll be accepted.
