It really depends on the demographic of NS, the most well thought roleplays can fail if nobody likes that topic.

Okay, so I have had this interesting idea for a while, and I would quite like to see how it would work.

About This RP

I think it would be nifty to do a War RP that is different form the others. In this one, you, not the OP (Himself or herself, I do have final say just in case), can help choose the war we are going to do! It shall work like this: Basically you RP a war of history, something in the possible future, or pretty much anything you can think of. After the war is over, the 'victor's get +3 votes for what the next war will be. There are other ways to get votes as well (You get +1 each war you actively participate in (3 if you are the victor) and +.5 if you get somebody to join this RP), but 'winning' is the best way to do it.

From reading the 'Game Mechanics' spoiler, you know that winning is a key thing in choosing the next war. However, you may be asking yourself, "What determines if you won or not?" I would tell you that I have whole system for that as well! Before the war begins, we will work together to make a 'Terms for Winning Pact' (Yeah, I know that is almost impossible, but I have a plan b).

Here are the rules of the RP 1: Don't swear. I don't think this RP should contain swearing. 2: You may argue, but keep it PG-13. Also, follow the site rules! 3: If you are going to yell at somebody in all caps, YODA SPEEK MUST YOU USE! 4: Lots of War RP's have tons of godmodding in them, so I am making 'special rules' to define godmodding: A: You cannot dictate other character's actions. B: You cannot get a huge Rancor or Excalibur in the middle of an Alexander the Great RP. No using Tech that is impossible or otherwise 'cheap'. C: If people on the OOC talk about what they are going to do to your character, your Character mustn't know about it. D : You shouldn't just play to win. Yes, there is an incentive to win, but don't make it impossible for you to be killed! 5: Don't be too gruesome with the depictions of death, please! 6: Don't be a jerk to anyone regarding info on the time period or whatever of the war. I am kind of sad that I actually have to put this in here, but just don't be snobby about anything. Just state your problem, and it works out better for everyone.

Okay, so I have decided to choose the first war just because I want to show kind of how it will work, so here it goes:

ALEXANDER THE GREAT

It is 336 BC (Or BCE for all of you 'Common Era' people), and the Greece is in need of much help. King Phillip II of Macedon has been assassinated, and King Alexander has just risen to power. Alexander, who trained in war tactics since the day he was born, is ready to kill who he blames for the attack (The Persians). The question is, will Alexander be able to conquer the world?

Macedon(Alexander) has:
48,100 expertly trained soldiers
6,100 cavalry
120 ships with a total crew of 38,000

Persia (Darius III) has:
96,200 Normal Soldiers
12,200 Cavalry
240 ships with a total crew of 78,000

If Alex here gets farther than this, that would be quite impressive, and I shall then write India or whoever he tries to conquer.

Alexander the Great has many, years of battle experience, and has some of the best Generals in the world. He is known for using very good tactics to confuse the enemies and play tricks on them.

Darius is really not that well trained in battle, but he doesn't really need to be. He has a peculiarly exact 2:1 ratio against Alexander, so Darius III really doesn't care about Alexander (Yet). He sees him as a bug that will go away soon and is just annoying for a bit.

Is this a good backstory for a fantasy RP?

The year is 2020(still modern tech), and the world has fallen into the pits of Hell, as the dark emperor Xenthros conquered all of the world with his demonic army of fiends. They came without.warning in the Middle East, where they quickly conquered Asia. The militaries of the Asian fought back, but to no success. The fiends were too powerful as they gained their power from the misdeeds of humanity. The last thing to happen was Russia firing a nuclear missle in a desperate attempt to wipe Xenthros and his army out, but only a small piece of his forces were lost. It did not take long for the Russian Federation to completely fall.

Afterwards, the demons moved on to Europe, which held little resistance to them. The countries of Europe had such small militaries, they were not able to repel the invading demons. A European Country called Italy proposed that every country had to band together in order to hold off the demons, but only Germany agreed. Everyone else was too concerned with their petty differences to join in, which ultimately led to their downfall. To much suprise, Germany and Italy were among the last ones to fall.

In Italy, Pope Francis met with Xenthros in the Vatican. He knew what Xenthros wanted, and was determined to stop him. "You will not find it here, demon." Francis told Xenthros. "Do not lie to me, old man. I know it is here. It has always been here since Saint Peter buried it here." Xenthros snapped back. Francis remained silent, but then said "Do you really want it? You know the consequences of wielding it." Francis asked. "Yes I do. With the Mournblade, I will rule over the Three Realms, Heaven, Hell, and the Mortal World." Xenthros replied aggressively. Xenthros drew his blade and attacked the Pope. He drove the blade through Francis, leaving him for dead. With his dying breath, Francis said "The power to rule is not yours. That power belongs to the only one capable of using it." Francis then took out a bottle of Holy Water and dowsed Xenthros in it. This only served to distract the demon as Francis ran off to put a blessing on the Vatican. Xenthros almost stopped him, but was not fast enough. The Vatican was shielded in holiness, which stopped Xenthros from entering for the next century.

Defeated, Xenthros returned to Hell with his army. There was no point in waiting as Winter approached. The seal lasted for 99 years, but is close to falling. The Mortal World is still in a dire state of sin, and Xenthros gets more powerful by the day. He is more powerful than before, but he is not as powerful as he needs to be. Without the Mournblade, he does not wield the power to defeat Yahweh in a battle. Will humanity repent, leaving Xenthros powerless, will Xenthros aquire the Mournblade, or what will happen? Only time will tell.
