Welcome to the American Civil War, no not the historical one but the one that has yet to occur. At least, it has yet to occur if you are living in 2014; from an non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint where time is not linear but a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff this has already happened in the year 2028.
So what has happened since 2013 to 2028? Well, I am not supposed to tell you this since foreknowledge is considered dangerous but in extreme circumstances on need to know basis to complete your mission of completing this RP, exceptions can be made. United States didn't change much till the elections of 2016. President Obama continued on his second term as president and due to lack of corporation between the president and the senate, not much changes and economy keeps going near destruction point through credit limits and political parties dance around before agreeing a midnight deal.
In 2016 elections, the people of America voted for democrat candidate named Omar who was to put simply a political mastermind. Now, a lot changed but in quick summary the land of free has been transformed under the President to a one party toleration dictatorship where all other parties have been banned, those who oppose the president are deemed enemies of the state and seem to vanish and the state rights have been curved to non existence especially as the governors are appointed by President personally.
However American people, atleast certain segments of thereof have had enough when he managed to repeal the ammendment allowing only two terms and got elected for third term. 2028, is the year when everything changes. Spark has been lit and fire is catching in the land of liberty.
So what is your part? Using our biochemical, neural interface you will be able to take control of one of the key figures in the world; let it be a disgruntled USA army general, leader of revolution in USA, President Omar, or leadership of any other nations. You will attempt to engineer the situation to get your goals; be it independence, insurrection or economic advantages.
Essentially, you will be able to take control of one state in USA or a foreign nation and RP through the US civil war which occurs in 2028.
Rules and Regulations
1) Trolling, flaming, flame-baiting, or excessive/vulgar argument of any kind is not permitted.
2) You may only select one state at beginning.
3) God-modding, meta-gaming, and other means of gaining unfair advantages over other players is not permitted.
4) Be prepared to be defeated. It will be possible to lose your entire nation/ state; you will be permitted to re-roll if you are defeated.
5) All additional rules and decrees handed out by us are to be followed to the letter.
6) Credit for the idea goes to The Gulf Empire.
7) Use of nukes will be stopped by The Doctor. You can threaten its use, you can even launch nukes but they will always miss, misfire or one of million other things will happen that means no one is harmed.
8 ) Now north east states are closed for rebellion.
New rules to improve quality of IC posts
1. Every post must be one paragraph or it is instant boot. Paragraph is defined as 10 lines.
2. There is sole exception to rule number one. If you are in a meeting with another player; although I recommend using TG for that and posting one large post spanning the entire meeting.
3. Logistics is a must. Moving troops massive distance will cost massive amounts of money and resources and time. If it is through sea, you need transport capacity. For every soldier you send to battlefield, there needs to be ten troops behind the desk ensuring that soldier is getting ammunitions, rations, repair, R&R etc. Fail to do this and your troops morale will drop. You may decide not to give your troops any of this but that will be reflected either by yourself by OP action. Your troops will surrender, your troops will run, your troops will commit suicide if you dont keep logistics in mind.
4. Trying to move troops through sea without having capacity to do so gets you a warning. Three and you are out.
5. Controlling other person's troops seems to be being a big thing so, every time you do this and the actual player complains you get a warning. Two and you are out.
6. Domestic support. Unless you take active effort to suppress domestic opposition, you need this. Push the people too far and you will get a popular revolution and I will make certain of that. If there is a revolution in this way (by OP action), you will loose the country.

Brief Description of your nation's government:The government is composed of the same three branches of government of the old US. The Judicial, Legislative, and Executive. These have many of the same powers except power is more parliamentary making so that the Presidential elections also determine Congress. The judicial branch still functions the same way except every term there is a new panel appointed, but the more respected, and experienced usually stay on the panel. The Constitution includes all the rights in the American Bill of Rights and provisions the workings of the government. It was also changed to protect gay marriage, abortion, and egg donation and screening.
Brief Description of your militaryWhen the revolutionaries formed their military they centralized it around the Kitsap naval base. Which was the first base taken by the rebels and the one that forced the government to capitulate as it contains 768 operational nuclear warheads.(Source:http://www.historylink.org/index.cfm?DisplayPage=output.cfm&file_id=9460) The military is now sized at 200,000 enlisted persons including the following groups:30,000 Coast Guardsmen, 80,000 naval personnel, 25,000 Marines,60,000 Air Force Personnel(mostly support crew and such), 150,000 Army personnel. Coast Guards perform many of the same duties as do the marines. While many Naval persons work at Kitsap many still work in conventional ships. The Air Force personnel, mostly support work out of the operational bases and installations in Washington State.While The army is tasked with maintaining defense and keeping order. The branches are all well-trained as quite a few of them are defected military personnel and the new recruits were trained by them. The Air Force has benefited from the location of the Boeing headquarters in the state as well.

Brief Description of your nation's government: The Nevadan Oligarchy has been described as streamlined bureaucracy, the entire government controlled by 7 people. The three most powerful are, Chairmain Reed, owner of 60% of the casinos in Nevada, Oligarch (And military adviser) Lucido, who controls the entire arms industry of Nevada, and Oligarchy (And Treasurer) Olson who controls 90% of the mining interests in the state. The lower levels of government were given to friends of the Oligarchs, creating a corrupt and rather useless system. Labour unions have been abolished, as have corporate, and personal taxes. Unemployment is at an all time low however, as the military industry is currently thriving.
Brief Description of your military The Nevadan Military is a large and brutal force in the former United States. Upon the fracture of the US, it armed itself with the massive stock of chemical, biological and nuclear weaponry present in the state, more than happy to use them against loyalists of the president. In adition to its terrifying weapons, Oligarch Lucido (Who micromanages the military like an RTS player) has placed dozens of loyal commissars from his company into the armed forces, giving them power to override the military commanders. It is well outfit with the massive stocks of vehicles and airplanes from the weapon depots scattered across the state. Area 51 has brought them a massive bounty of experimental weapons, and they continue to use its facilities to develop terror weaponry.

Brief Description of your nation's government: The State of Georgia's government is based off of the pre-Omar US constitution, with several changes. Most notably, there are checks on the power of all of the government, with the people controlling the right to appoint any government official, via the ballot. Gerrymandering is strictly prohibited, and the people vote on any changes to the electoral districts, or rather, have the right to. A strong social safety net is in place, with a Universal Healthcare system as well. The two parties in Georgia, the Conservative Party and Liberal Party, are very competitive, and have been renamed to distance themselves from the US parties.
Brief Description of your military The military of Georgia is well trained and armed, due to the three major military bases within it's borders. Most of the troops are from called up National Guard units and Amy units that stayed with the fledgling state when it declared it's independence. The Navy is small, but formidable due to the crews of several of the nuclear submarines defecting, with their nuclear arsenal in tow. The Air Force is larger than the Navy, and maintains several bases within the State, most notably in Atlanta, near Hartsfield-Jackson Int'l Airport.

Any specific goal(s): Primary aim of the new republic will be to gain International recognition, either fairly or otherwise. Brief Description of your nation's government: The government, post independence will essentially be classic stratocracy. Commander in Chief of the armed forces will serve as the president of the republic and key positions within the republic including ministries and high ranking civil service will all be filled by commissioned officers and military leaders (as well as those that have been honourably discharged). The military no longer derives its power from brute force, but through rule of law which supports the institution of military control over the state.
Parliament esque council of states does exist however its role is primarily consultative. There is periodic elections for council of state where citizens who have completed voluntary military service for atleast five years, or who have been honourably discharged may vote to elect 30 representatives (from approved list) while 50 others are appointed by the Commander in Chief.
Judiciary has for all intent and purpose been abolished to be substituted by summary justice which can be prescribed by those deputised by the government to do so; these include the military personnel who also double as a police force to patrol and keep peace within the republic. While a system of justice still exists in paper going all the way from local courts to the supreme courts, they are rarely used and when they are used it is usually by high ranking military officials to contest things such as fines.
Brief Description of your military: Military consists primarily of the national guard as well as some who have defected from the federal armed forces. State boasts a powerful air force, Hill Air Force Base however its pride and joy lies further south at the biochemical weapons storage and proving grounds. In addition to this, the armed forces is armed to the teeth (if slightly lacking in combat experience) due to seizure of Tooele Army Depot providing the armed forces with more conventional weapons than it has need for, or can use for that matter.

Legislative Branch - Arkansas Provincial Congress - Established after the breakup from the Arkansas General Assembly which had the Senate and House of the State now made into a Congress, proposes laws for the well-being of the population and deals with day to day law making for the old State. All decisions made her can be veto'd by the Governor, and any ruling by him cannot be undone. Headed up by the Second-Governor as the Speaker of Both Houses which will be the Senate (Senators and old House Reps) and House of Commoners (General Local Community Speakers). Laws go first through the House of Commoners then if passed the Senate. The Senate also decides judges for the Courts, and is the last stage of voting a law in.
Executive Branch - Headed up by the Governor which is no longer a elected position. It is given upon a line of sucession by which the Governor decides who is eligible for the position by appointing them as Second-Governor, and when the Governor dies or resigns the Second-Governor takes his place. The Governor is the Commander-in-Chief of the Military by which the Congress has no power to say anything on. Also allowed to make laws without consent of the Provincial Congress, and sign them into act without them. Will also handle treaties with other foreign entity's. Also has full control over Judicial Branch in terms of decisions to be overruled.
Judicial Branch - Mostly headed up by the old court system of the United States with District Court and Appeal Courts, but a new Supreme Court reform has taken place to allow the Arkansas Supreme Court to be Divided into two sections. One will be the Civil Appeals section of it which will take part from the US Supreme Court in a way, but all decisions can be vetod by the Governor regardless, and the Political Appeals which will deal with politically important cases. Judges appointed by Provincial Congress.
Brief Description of your military:Most of the National Guard were trained by the old United States Military system, and some federal units loyal to General MG William D. Wofford and some smaller units have joined as well. No current naval units exist as it is a landlocked state, but there are some naval officers in the state with a Naval School building built for future purposes. They were also reorganized and renamed.
Territorial Guard - The Arkansas Territorial Guard is made of subsections Territorial Police and Territorial Militia. The Police is a Gendarmerie force of the unit which has 20,000 active members and the Territorial Militia is comprised of the actual defense force of a military. They are the territorial Army of Arkansas, and can be used as a support to the actual Army or Air Force which has 50,000 active personal.
Provincial Army - The Arkansas Provincial Army is the Army branch of the state. It is there to protect and guaranty the permanent sovereignty of the nation against any external, or internal threats.
Provincial Air Service - The Arkansas Provincial Air Service is the Air Force branch of the state. The paladin of the sovereign space of Arkansas.
Rivers and Lake Commission - The basis of the Navy for Arkansas, when access to the sea is granted, will be transformed into something else.

Brief Description of your nation's government:The government of the UREC consists of a central government which is comprised of 4 branches. The Executive branch has almost complete power and is led by the Imperial Governor. The Imperial Governor is elected by the populace, and serves in that capacity for life. He has the power to nullify laws that the Senate creates. The Imperial Governor is the Supreme Legionnaire, and is in command of all military decisions, and is able to declare war whenever he so desires. He or she can create laws, but these must be ratified by either the Senate or the Conglomerate of Commons. However, despite all the power that he or she holds, the Executive Branch is always subject to the findings of the Judicial Branch. The Judicial Branch is quite like the one that existed in the United States during 2014. However, the panel of judges contains 15 judges. The Legislative Branch only has one house in the central government, the Imperial Senate. The Senate makes laws, and can call for the removal by force of the Imperial Governor by the Senate Guard, the only military the Senate controls. The there is the policy committee, which governs all the other branches (except Judicial) and is second only to the Judicial. They are put in place by the Imperial Governor. Under all of them are the District commissions, which have two parts, the Judicial and the Executive. The amount of executives vary depending on the population. They decide local taxes and laws.
Brief Description of your military: The 3 million plus military members of the California National Guard are highly motivated. In 2036, the California legislature (pre-revolt) signed the Modernization Act of 2036, which (by pulling a lot of strings) enabled theses units to train with active-duty and reserve personnel on United States Military property. After success with the program over the next year, the 2037 Safe-Streets Counter-Domestic Terrorism Act provided the same training for various police agencies across southern California. Another Re-armament plan would get the Guard units "new" weapons. In reality, it allowed for the purchase of M14 DMRs and M16A2's as they tried to "phase-out" the M-4 carbine.

The state focusses primarily on approving or declining Fed proposals and foreign policy, while the Fed is focussing primarily on providing stimulus for Coops to grow, so the CCA can get to their assault on the USA.
