It always does.

Like, when I hear "Ice Queen" in my head, I instantly think "frigid person". But when I hear "Ice King", I just keep thinking about this machine I operated when I worked at a snoball stand that shaved blocks of ice.

Not only is it fun as hell, it's like writing on easy mode. It's like writing Churchill, only it's impossible to do wrong, because you're writing a fictionalized personality, not a real person, if that makes sense.
Just write Sean Connery. You know every single Sean Connery character he's ever played? Just do more of that.

Again - once Gren suggested Connery, about a million things fell into place.
