Despite the inevitable sibling feuding every now and then, he also did what he could to ensure his sister was just as happy, not above considering teaching any boyfriends something of a lesson if they decided to screw around with other girls. In high school he entered ROTC with hopes of following in his father's footsteps and enlisting with the US army. Graduating, he left for basic immediately out of high school and was deployed to Afghanistan weeks after his training was completed. After serving his four years in the army he returned to the states without injury much to his relief. Finding a job as a mechanic and a wife in a young woman named Emilia Jackson, it seemed as though he'd found a normal, comfortable life back home. However, due to complications in childbirth, his wife died in the hospital. He was left with a healthy baby girl, naming the child Lucy after his grandmother. His parents were both killed in a plane crash on their way to a vacation, and with their inheritance he and his sister purchased a home in Providence, clear across the country from their old home, moving in with his sister and bringing his now 8-year-old niece.

Abel is a teenager suffering from a mild schizophrenic disorder due to a traumatising incident he witnessed involving the deaths of a couple supposedly at the hands of what he described as "shadows with sharp claws and bloody fangs." Aurora on the other hand is an insecure young women who has fears of losing her social celebrity status by moving to some far-away rural area. Emma is the life of the party always feeding her family strange news, gossips and other information about their neighbours and forever being nosy. All-in-all, Mrs. Lee intended to give her son a chance to breathe in life within a less crowded neighbourhood and cure her oldest daughter of her snobbish vain attitude. As for Emma, she just prays she won't get into trouble with being so curious & busybody.

Unbeknownst to his mother, Abel is secret internet celebrity himself who has written a few loudly praised & acclaimed thesis about the universe, the different constellations it holds and the possibility of whether there could be other life forms out there.
