Star Trek: The Voth Offencive (IC)

Postby Zepplien » Wed Oct 30, 2013 7:54 pm

OOC and Sign Ups

Sector 39021, Voth Technocratic Space
A small group of ships floated close to one and other, the ISS Cardassia, USS Endevor, USS Fukushū, USS Vanguard, RRW Thev, IKS Qu’sat, and RRW Drevex. These ships, under the joint command of the Mu Strike Force, were to switch to case Hazel in this situation, one of several dozen cases they had set up in case of various emergency situation. Hazel described the situation of the “Catastrophic failure of the quantum slipstream drives of at least 2 ships.” With the jerry rigged systems on board the ISS Cardassia, USS Vanguard, and RRW Drevex all failing thanks to passing too close to a black hole. The case file dictated that “Ships must proceed with all due haste at the speed of the slowest ship.” The ships were in a close formation to insure tight band communications could not be intercepted. The ISS Cardassia, and IKS Qusat both were deploying small scouting ships to patrol the area and watch for Voth ship.

I.S.S. Cardassia, Commander Lucido
“Just fix it chief.” The young captain told his chief warp officer, who looked annoyed and distressed at him, Lucido could tell he was very annoyed with him, but he didn’t even need his Betazoid traits for that. The chief responded “With due respect Captain…” he took a moment to gulp and collect his thoughts “I am sure you understand how complicated a Quantum Slipstream drive, we just don’t have the parts, and several other ships in the task group have had their ships break down as well.” The captain closed his eyes for close to ten second as the chief reported “With our sustainable warp factor it will take…” he was cut off by the Captain finishing “Eleven days, sixteen hours, twenty three minutes, and five seconds.” The chief looked surprised as he looked to his PADD and found the exact same result as calculated by the computer system. He, like many on the Cardassia, wondered how the Captain was so brilliant, and there were a hundred theories on the ship, the most popular being that he was an android, followed closely by the theory he was an ancestor of Khan. No one asked the captains, and sharp glances silenced their thoughts about it.

Captain Lucido leaned his chair back slightly, an amenity he had installed on the Tholian Bridge which natively lacked any chairs. The view screen was about 45’ up the wall, but Lucido didn’t mind, he rather liked the way the bridge was designed. He gave the simple order “Number One, open up communications to the other ships.” The Breen tapped gently at her console, then nodded slightly “Channel open sir.” Giving the young man a nod. He then looked up and said “My chief reports that our slipstream drive is damaged beyond current repairs. Mission parameters dictate that we may only turn back if forces present a mathematic impossibility to success, as such I recommend that we move at warp 9.7 to Revath II, then that the ISS Cardassia, and all other ships without Slipstream be abandoned as those with Slipstream still functional flee the Voth systems. Does anyone have any objections?”

USS Vanguard

"Damage report," Chax'zana ordered looking around the bridge. She felt as though her ship was tossed like a pebble, forcing it to bounce of a river and now smack dab into wherever they exactly were. "Whats our current position?"

"Damage is minimal, at least 4 fighters took a heavy hit from the the lost of inertial dampeners, the structural integrity fields are holding. Medical reports 13 injured but minor. Our slipstream apparatus is being put through a systems diagnostic right now, Lt. Valentine reports she'll have information within 10 minutes," Dan Manson had reported.

"Ma'am, the I.S.S. Cardassia is hailing," Manson.

Chax'zana nodded, "Let's hear it."

“My chief reports that our slipstream drive is damaged beyond current repairs.

The captain nodded, "Sounds good, Captain; helm set course for Revath II at stated speed. Engage when the rest of them are set to do so," Mayleen heard a 'yes ma'am', but she continued on, "My chief will have a report on our own slipstream apparatus in a few minutes. Do you require any assistance, Captain?"

Bridge, ISS Cardassia
Captain Lucido shook his head slowly "We have minimal casualties, and our engineers are working as best they can on this Tholian technology." he then turned to one of the displays in the semi circle of computer displays "We have a large engineering crew though, and Tholians built this thing with very impressive medical facilities, if you require assistance." he taped a little at the control panel, ordering DC teams to contain a small fire near the reactor, something that could lead to a very bad antimatter breach. He then glanced back up at Captain Chax'Zana "Oh, and Captain, my fighter ship repair bays are yours if you need them." he then adjusts himself slightly, crossing his legs tightly, and leaning his head on one hand whose arm was on the armrest of his chair. Following that he asks "Is there anything else you need Captain?"

U.S.S Vanguard

"Not at all, we'll be ready to proceed on your mark as soon as the rest of the fleet checks in," Mayleen said with a nod and turned to her ops officer to cut the channel.

Once it was done, Mayleen took her seat back while Anjar leaned to her left, "Should we send for a scout out there to start scanning area."

She considered it for a moment and then shook her head, "No, they've already got scouts out, one more isn't going to do any more good. Have the sensors up at maximum. Where's that report anyway?"

Anjar chuckled and brought up the report given by Valentine. "Bella's informed us that the apparatus took a somewhat good beating from the blackhole we passed. She's estimating anywhere from two to three days to get it back in perfect order. She stresses the 3 days to run tests on it unless, and I quote, 'you like flesh puddles decorating your hallways'." Anjar blinked, "Well, she's got a point but she's morbid."

"And direct," Mayleen smirked. "Fine, she has the 3 days, I'll relay that message to Captain Lucido about our repair estimates. Have her pull staff from other watches to minimize the time, I want us gone from here as soon as possible."

"Aye captain, I'll head down to holodeck 2 to begin the simulations immediately." Anjar nodded and took off for the turbolifts. Her second in command, L'Shen was down in sickbay and that left Mayleen to the bridge by herself, although not exactly as Nathan and Dan were manning their post. "So," she said with a smile to Nathan, whom she knew would immediately shy away and blush, much to her amusement at the mild tease, "I hear someone's anniversary is coming up..."

USS Endeavour, Task Force Mu
The ship buckled as they slowed down. Captain John MacArthur grasped the Captain's chair in order not to fall. The viewscreen cleared, and instead of the black and blue of slipstream, there was the darkness of space dotted only sparsely by several stars. John looked at the helmsman.
"Ensign," he said, his tone almost annoyed. The mission had been delayed time and time again, and, as his classmates at the academy would say, John was not exactly one to be dragged down. "Why have we stopped?"
"Sir, the fleet has come out of slipstream. Our orders are to stop with them."
Next, the Lieutenant at Ops stood up. "Sir, we have identified the ISS Cardassia as the one who has stopped the fleet. It appears they are having problems with their slipstream."
John looked to the right of the viewscreen and saw the Cardassia, almost dead in space.
"Hail them," he said, and the captain of the Cardassia appeared on the screen. "This is Captain MacArthur of the USS Endeavour." He looked over to the comm officer, checking if the officer had encrypted the message, and he nodded. John continued. "We know you are having slipstream problems. What exactly is the problem, and can we render assistance?"

U.S.S. "Fukushū" NX-92044
Federation Heavy Cruiser
Starfleet Task Group Mu

The Fukushū sat, in relative space, about forty kilometers above the rest of the fleet. Her starboard Warp Nacelle had cracked and was leaking small amounts of Warp Plasma. The bright blue gas was highly visible in this part of the galaxy, with nearly all starlight being drawn towards the Singularity they had passed, the only way the Fukushū had made it out was through use of her Quantum Jump Drive. Having been called to an all stop by the Cardassia, repair crews had already been dispatched on a space walk to over look the damages and begin repairs immediately.

Looking around his bridge, the slight haze of smoke from the burnt out bio-neural gel packs from behind console 2-Omega had given the room a slightly dreamy feel to it. Light from the LED strips along the rear edges of the bridge were glowing a soft white and caught the smoke at just the right angle to make everything look as though it were paradise. The slick white walls, all of which were alabaster-like in appearance, were actually specially designed plasma-distribution panels. Behind them lay many neurodes and sensors that picked up heat from the slightest brush of skin across their surface and would activate any number of systems. To the average onlooker, it would appear the bridge were simply a giant, elliptical, and empty room.

Jonah smiled, his ship was indeed rugged and she wasn't about to break on him now. Walking over to a slightly darker silver lined panel, smaller than the rest, his fingers flew over the top, gloved, but lined at the tips of each digit with bio-electrical heat conducting wires that would allow him to accurately interface with the technology. Soon the screen lit up as it recognized his access code, and the bridge began to come alive. Computer panels began to slide out of hidden coves in the walls, nearly seamless when tucked away, they all flipped out of their hideaways like spring-loaded jack-knives. On each panel, a small number with a letter afterwards was written. This was the bridge, everything happened upon it. The only other main rooms were engineering, the infirmary, and the holographic simulator room.

Walking over to the smoking control panel, he keyed in a diagnostic subroutine activation code and set to work rerouting the electrical impulses from the computer core from the burnt out packs into those that were still active. Moving from the panel to another one, the door to the bridge hissed open and one by one the morning crew began to file in. Two senior officers, four bridge crew, and one of his Bridge Officers. Turning, Jonah returned the salute and dismissed them from attention to attend to each of their duties. A young Ensign, Ensign Ji' Kala, a Vulcan, spoke up.

"Captain, permission to speak?"

"Permission Granted, what do you want."

"My panel is 2-Omega, what do you want me to do?"

"Finish the diagnostic subroutine and continue to route all systems that normally ran through the primary gel packs into the auxiliary neural gel packs. When you finish that, aid the repair team in diagnosing what we've lost from the Warp Nacelles. Commander," Jonah said, turning to his second-in-command," Please see what you can do about getting the Quantum Readouts from that last jump."

"Already on it Captain, All systems are functioning at just above optimum levels as pertaining to the Quantum Jump Drive. However, life support systems on Decks D, F, and G, are all malfunctioning and are not providing a suitable environment for Humans."

"Noted, I'll put that down on the repair crew's list of 'thing's to do'. Anything else? What can you tell me about our weapons and tactical systems? I don't want to be caught with my pants down if the Voth come-a knocking' on our doors."

"All Tactical Systems are operating within optimal parameters Captain. Only two of our Plasma cannons took damage on that last jump, but mostly from Polaric stress waves generated by our Starboard Nacelle as it lost subatomic cohesion."

"Understood. Lieutenant Kara," Jonah called to his Operations and Communications specialist and Senior Officer, Lieutenant Kara Selace," Where are we at with out communications array? Can you get me in contact with the 'Cardassia'? I need to know why we stopped out here instead of in a nearby star system."

Lt. Selace nodded and curtly moved away from console 1-Omega to 2-Gamma," We have communications sir, not sure about the other ship, but I've sent in the hailing request."

"Understood, good job Lieutenant. Open a channel once they accept."

Moving towards the center of the room, he walked to a small pedestal that had risen from the floor, laying his right hand down upon it, he felt the warmth of a sensor sweep across his hand checking for an active pulse in all of his fingers, proper finger-displacement, and correct finger-prints through relief imaging of the ditches within the fingerprint rather than the ridges. Glowing a soft blue, it switched to a light green signifying that the print had been authenticated, and then, the pedestal retreated into the floor of the vessel. Moving slightly off to one side, Jonah looked on at the chair rising up out of the floor. The Captain's chair. A significant part of any starship bridge since Humanity first began building them, this one symbolized just how far Humanity had managed to go.

Hovering above the floor, it features built in repulsor-lift technology with a gyro-stabilizer to keep it from sliding everywhere or jostling the Captain. Every other console withheld one, but without a doubt, the Captain's was the most impressive. For such a minimalist-oriented ship that the "Fukushū" appeared to be, the most extravagant and expensive part angled towards crew comforts beside the infirmary was the bridge. Looking down at his right arm, he withdrew a long cold glass of water, the seat-side replicator could make any variety of drinks so long as they were water based with only a simple starch to be added, so essentially milk, coffee, or water. Jonah cold live with that. He had specially programmed in hot cocoa for special occasions.

Settling down in his seat, nursing his crystalline glass of water, he waited for the face of the Cardassia's captain to come onscreen.

Bridge, ISS Cardassia
Captain Lucideo leaned back in his comfortable chair, running his hands over the leather on the handles. Gold pressed latnium, fifty bars, was used to make his chair, the finest Ferengi craftsmen working on what could be called the most comfortable chair in starfleet, though it lacked the command systems of most chairs. The semicircle of consoles the Tholians made were more than enough however, as he tapped away at them to micromanage everything on his ship. He turned to his first officer "Gen, be a dear would you, and get me a cup of tea. You know how I like it." the Breen woman nodded slightly, knowing it was her duty and honour to serve every request the captain had, though she knew the captain took advantage of her loyalty. She handed him the tea as he began answering the hails, milky and not too hot just how the Captain liked it. He grinned up at Woman and told her "First, Captain from the Endeavour"

He straitened the Terran overcoat he wore as he addressed Captain MacArthur "My chief engineer tells me we have several blow out parts in our Slipstream. However, the parts are not replicable, and we don't have enough to fix it. It makes sense really, the Tholian ship was never designed for this speed." he shifted his weight again, just as when he was talking to Chax'zana. He then offered "If you would like, I would be happy to have some of your engineers look at it." he then gave him a slight nod as he put the captain on 'hold'

He then turned his attention to the transmission from the Fukushū his first thought being 'That is a hell of a chair.' followed by the same admiration for the man's Bridge. He maintained the tight, crossed legged, feminine pose watching the Captain as he sipped his tea slowly, holding his hand out as his Breen XO handed him a PADD. He glanced down, looking over the damage report, several areas of the ship were either decompressed, on fire, or in one case both with a plasma vent. There was largely no damage to the critical systems, and few members of his crew were seriously hurt. He handed her back the PADD as he watched the Captain.

The Captain, also overlooking his own status reports looked up and acknowledged Captain Lucideo with a slight nod of the head, then, quickly finishing up with the PADD he had in his hand, he tucked it away into a small holder on the side and switched Lucideo's image to his personal Holographic Display.

"Captain," Jonah said, nodding once more," Good to see you're well. how is your ship faring, looks like the Tholians don't build to last. You need any support or may we continue on with our repairs here? We took some heavy damage to our Starboard Nacelle and might have to fabricate some new Warp Coils."

U.S.S. Defender
Jackson layer back snoring in the captains chair like several other members of the bridge crew. A small trickle of drool left from his mouth to the floor in a long string where a puddle was forming.
A feminine figure sat in front of him in a chair.
"Gross," Ellie muttered turning to the panel before her.
"Owen repeat the amount of casualties for me.
A groaning was heard on the other end.
"126 dead 179 injured, what more do you want?"
Ellie ignored him is Jackson felt out of the chair with a loud crack then shot up alert to any danger.
"I'n awake! Ellie status report! And don't bother asking long or shirt version you know I can't understand either," Jackson smiled as the light glinted off his teeth.
"Lots of death, lots of injury, and besides that we're not really in bad condition."
"Good. What's everyone up to?"
"I don't know why don't you ask them?"
"Okay then, hail someone."
"Who?"
"I don't know! Someone!"
"Alright fine!"
Ellie selected a random ship from the list, before checking it wasn't an enemy, and sent a hail.

SubCommander Kimara Marrus: @#%#@@#&%

Commander Parem: You of all people should know not to use such language on the bridge SubCommander!

SCKM: Sorry sir! Admiral! It's what I was worried about. The the quantum slipstream drives are interacting with the artificial singularity. There's plasma feedback in the nacelles. If it starts cascading towards the core we risk a breach. We have to drop out of slipstream!

Admiral Sela Cretak: Contact the rest of the fleet Parem! We're dropping out of slipstream.

CP: Communications are down: the feedback is blanketing subspace within the ship.

SubCommander Tovan Tela (on the come): I've got wounded down here.

SCKM: Your about to get more dear. {Inertial Shock} We're at warp, and the plasma is cascading back toward the core. Permission to blow the plasma transfer manifolds.

CP: Absolutely not the inertial dampers are under 90% and it wold disable the warp drive...

ASC (interrupting): I trust you SubCommander; you have my authority to do what you nead to do.

{bridge crew bonces of the sealing}

{crew regains conciseness}

CP: Status!

SCKM: We're at 1/3 impulse forward velocity, 5 PLS yah. I can have warp and cloak in 3-4 hours if we offer aid the the rest of the fleet it's 6-12 hours.

ASC: We're definitely offering aid. Hail the task-force Commander.
Imperial Warbird Enem to Mu Strike Force. We're 14 light-minutes ahead of you. We have engineering and medical teems standing by. We nead a task-force status report, so I'll go first. Warp and cloak are offline we expect to have them back in 8-12 hours. The plasma feedback fried the slipstream; It wold nead to be rebuilt from scratch. We have 2-3 hundred wounded and 2-3 dozen dead. Admiral Sela Cretak standing by.

SCTT (on com): You do realize we have over 100 missing on deck 5. That hole aria was flood with drive plasma: those numbers are going to rise.

ASC: {slightly flirty smile} No nead to alarm our allies Tovan... *throat clearing* ...ah, SubCommander.

SubLieutenant at con: flight path stabilized. Now at full impulse back toward the rest of the task-force. it'll take about an hour if they don't move this way.

Sector 39021
USS Carthage
Premonition-class exploration cruiser

T'Ren pulled himself back into his captain's chair has he gazed around the bridge. The rather abrupt stop had startled the rest of the bridge crew, but T'Ren was the only one without a console in front of him to keep him in position, and so despite his Vulcan reflexes, he had been the only one to end up on the floor. The bridge was still in good condition, although a few panels had gone dark. An older ship built toward the close of the 24th century, Carthage had never been refitted to the more common metallic blue and silver tones that were now in vogue, and retained the leather tones and cooler lighting of the Sovereign era. The rest of the crew were already checking their consoles when T'Ren called for a damage report.

"That hit took the slipstream drive offline. Two of the chroniton polarity filters were slagged and quantum field focus controller was heavily damaged. Standard drive should still be functional, and no damage was sustained to either of the warp cores. But we don't have the parts to repair the slipstream drive and the replicator has neither the resolution nor the blueprints for the necessary spares," reported Lieutenant Commander Merlo, chief engineer, via communicator.

The captain simply nodded. "Acknowledged. Carry on." There was no need to press the engineer any further about the possibility of repairing the drive; if that was his expert opinion, it was most probably correct, and while certain parts could be jury rigged in the field, the extremely complex nature of the polarity filters meant they were certainly not one of them. He didn't need to bother Lt. Cmdr. Merlo any further, not while there was work to be done.

Just after he had finished, Lieutenant Ven began her report on the ship's tactical status, "The phaser capacitor power taps tripped during the surge but have been reset. Torpedo rooms 3 and 4 report damage to their autoloaders, and expect repairs to be complete within two hours. Manual loading is still possible. No abnormalities reported in the torpedo stockpiles or the arsenal, and shields still online and holding."

T'Ren nodded in the lieutenant's direction while the rest of the officers continued to report in succession.

"Minor damage on decks 8, 15, and 22, mostly from unsecured objects. Sickbay reports minor injuries, mostly bruises and a few fractured bones. Crew and facilities should be repaired within the hour."

"Helm is still responsive, and astrogation is still operable. As per the engineer's report, slipstream is offline but regular warp remains operational."

"Systems rebooting in the science module. A few of the gel packs may have burned out but technicians are working to replace them now."

"Sir, receiving a hail from Cardassia. Captain Lucido would like to discuss our course of action with the fleet," reported Lieutenant Commander Shara, just as the last report had concluded.

"Very well, onscreen."

Captain Lucido's face appeared at the center of the main viewscreen, with the faces of those others involved in the discussion arrayed to either side. “My chief reports that our slipstream drive is damaged beyond current repairs.

T'Ren considered it for a moment, but was forced to agree that there was little else to do. The mission could hardly go ahead, and those ships that had sustained damage to their slipstream would only slow down those that had luckily avoided it. In that case, getting word back to the Federation about the status of the mission was more important, lest any plans be made on the assumption it had succeeded.

"None, it seems the most logical course of action in these circumstances," answered T'Ren.

"No reply sir," Ellie smirked turning back to her panel.
"We'll that's just swell."
The entire bridge sat in silence as Jackson tapped the control panel.
After several minutes Ellie pulled up a game of pong to play on the computer.
"Why don't we join our friends discussion?" Ellie asked.
"Great. Onscreen. And stop playing pong!" Jackson muttered annoyed hoping it wouldn't be heard, though it was by all. Ellie couldn't help but smirk at the look on his face.

"Ma'am we're picking up a hail. Source: U.S.S. Defender," Dan announced, "It's faint, but I believe its due to the damage they've sustained. I'm reading power fluctuations that could affect their communications."

"Put it on," Mayleen said with a nod. "Helm, bring us closer, half impulse."

Captain Jonah, still waiting on a response from the Cardassia turned his head slightly to address the other face on the screen of his PADD, sitting comfortably in his seat, took another sip as he watched the hailed message play out. After it had ended, he smiled and leaned back, tapped away at the screen, and sent his own response.

This is Captain Mackenzie of the Federation Experimental Heavy Cruiser NX-92044 "Fukushū", glad to hear you all fared decent but our scanner tell us a different story. You have a massive plasma leak on one of your primary decks that is certain to of wiped out many of your personnel and injured a decent amount more. I'd say your casualties are somewhere around 200 wounded and 100 dead. Am I incorrect in my conclusion Captain? In addition, my starship suffered heavy damage to our Starboard Warp Nacelle, but we have repair crew working on getting it operational again. We require no help or resources seeing as how we have plenty right here, for the moment. We will hail you if that situation changes, good day Captain.

With that the Captain smiled as he tapped it away to be sent. Romulans were one group of people he blamed for his parent's deaths, as well as the deaths of many of his friends from Starfleet Academy that he would never forgive the species. He enjoyed having scanners that were proficient at seeing things well beyond normal range, but he felt sorry that he wouldn't be present to see the look on the Captain's face himself. Moving back to the face of Lucideo, he asked him," Everything alright on your side Captain? You never responded to my last question."

Bridge, ISS Cardassia
Captain Lucido tapped away at one if the 8 control panels around his chair, after a few moments he looked back up at Captain Johan "You must forgive me captain, there was a small explosion near one of our hangers, a micro photon detonated when it fell off its rack, thankfully no one was killed, several of my crew are in bad shape." the real problem was that now one of his industrial replicators was damaged, photon production would have to be supplemented with quantum. He turned his chair slightly "I understand your ship has no shuttle docks, I will deploy a Hideki to assist in your repairs. Don't try to be 'macho', I find most human males can be as suborn as a Breen if they feel their pride is at stake. Just let my Hideki assist your repairs, and remember that I need you." after a moment he added "I mean for firepower for the record." he looked back down at his reports, so many of their ships had lost slipstream, perhaps they could raid a Voth shipyard for the parts, or just steal a Voth ship. He motioned for his XO to come lower and whispered to her "Begin training operations once we get the holodecks online, I want our crew prepared to take a Voth ship if needed."

"Command is a privilege they said. Your first command is always exciting they said..."

A black haired man pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration, surveying his dinged up bridge.

"Figures the first time I take a ship out as captain, this happens. Commander Katrenti, I need a damage report."

A blue eyed Vulcan tapped on her console, displaying the damage the Southland had sustained during the drop out of Slipstream. Considering its small size compared to the other vessels, Captain Avery just felt lucky they weren't torn in half.

"Damage to decks 5, 6, 8, and 9. No casualties reported. Shields holding at 54 percent."

"Well, that's a plus I guess. Lt. Avery, get me a report from engineering."

A portly red haired man read over the incoming reports from engineering.

"Engine 1 functioning at 63 percent, Captain. Engine two at 57. Warp Core functioning nominally. Power has been lost to the holosuites and food replicators."

Richard smoothed his hair back a little.

"Well, the holosuite can wait. I want the replicators back online, and want engines back at at least 80 percent within the hour."

He flopped down in the captains chair, letting out a weary sigh.

"No wonder most captains I meet are bald. This is stressful stuff."

USS Darwin

"Did we sustain any damage?" Captain Hunt sternly asked.
"No, captain, we did not." Dahl replied, while telling Høter to check all the systems, which he did.
"No...everything is fine." Høter told Dahl, who nodded in agreement. "All systems are working flawlessly, no power has been lost." He added.

"Good. Now contact the others to see what do they have going on. Perhaps if they need assistance." Hunt commanded as Høter began to tapping away to contact the other ships.

This is the scientific vessel USS Darwin, do you need assistance? Dahl said to the other ships.

[b]USS Infinity

"Captain, there is an anomalous power surge in our temporal core, its overloading the relays" the helmsman reported.

"Shut down the core, disengage the temporal engines, engage the warp engines to factor 9, heading zero-zero, mark zero." the first officer ordered. This operation was standard procedure when a power surge occurred in this temporal engines. The scientists who designed the engine theorized that the jump to warp should shunt the power surge into the qualithium crystals powering the warp drive, thereby creating a subspace instability in the warp drive manifold, pulling them out of warp. However, the ship must be traveling above warp 8.

"Engaging the warp engines.. now sir."

Admiral Flavious, being an android, immediately detected that something was wrong.

"Ensign" the admiral ordered, "take us out of warp, all stop. Disengage all engines and take main power off line." The ensign hesitated for a moment, knowing that this would cause some delay in probing the time continuum, but followed his order nonetheless. The ship came out of warp, and came to a stop. The engines were disengaged from all three reactors, and the ensign looked at his CO for guidance.

"Ensign, where are we?" Admiral Flavious asked.

"Sir," he said after glancing at his instrument panel, "I don't know if you believe this, but we have traveled 13 seconds back in time." The ensign looked stunned. "I don't know how sir, but its confirmed, thirteen seconds." He added, "auxillary power on line".

"Shit." Was all that came out of the admiral's mouth. "Contact Starfleet, and route it to my work room." Flavious rose from the command chair and headed left to his room. The doors opened when sensing his approach, and he sat down in his chair, facing his computer towards him. He readied himself for the conversation he was going to have with Admiral Data. It was not going to be a pleasant one.

Sector Admiral Sela Cretak: Well Commander, looks like Captain Jonah. Too bad for him he tipped his hand and her bad lintel. Move NX-92044 from "Unknown, but seems friendly" to "wolf in sheep clothing" and her captain from "federation slandered" to "mixed copatince." And Parem, watch it.

Commander Parem: Thees humans sure underestimate our medical facilities. We have 51 dead, 23 missing, 324 wounded. Of the wounded 71 will be back at duty by rendezvous, 72 by the end of the day, 73 by the end of the week, and 54 still at risk. Remember acceptable losses are 50% alive ans 20% combat capable.

SASC: That was before, when we had the navy to send us recruits.

John was startled as his comm officer spoke. "Captain... I'm getting something....Not much but it could be a distress signal. Minimal signal... But something..."
"Can you amplify?" he said, intriuged. There was no other Federation ship anywhere near this sector, he thought.
"I'm trying..." came the comm officer's reponse."Yep, It's an emergency distress call!"
"On speakers!"
As the loud sound wounded the ears of the bridge crew, they began to hear voices among the unintelligible static. "Imperative! Imperative! This is the Kobayashi Maru -- nineteen periods out of Altair Six ..... have lost all power... Our hull is..." the sound broke up.
"Get them back! Get them back!" said John, urgently.
"... and many casualties." came the voice, again.
"This is the Starship Endeavour," said John. "Your message is breaking up. Give your coordinates. Repeat --"
