After instruction from the admiral a small boatload of sailors rowed over carrying several barrels of gunpowder. This was brought on to the deck of the foreign ship. The admiral waited for the iron to be presented.

We thank you for your acceptance of our offers and proposals. An embassy can only further solidify our alliance, you speak of rules and customs that we must follow. Three weeks after the arrival of the strange men from Rawhitiroa, the embassy fleet that was sent to this land returned with another message from the empire. The Lakan was pleased that the foreigners were keeping to their word and that they would like to establish permanent trade routes between Madjayi and Rawhitiroa. He then called for Datu Dalisan of Bigan, his economic advisor to begin making preparations for the establishment of a Madjayi trading post in Rawhitiroa and trading routes between Maynila and Selwyn in Rawhitiroa. The Lakan then gave another message to the embassy fleet that had returned to be passed on to the captain of the embassy ship of Rawhitiroa.

TO: Captain Tane Monatuhu, representative of the King of the Empire of Rawhitiroa

Peace be upon you!

Our customs will not be forced upon your "embassy", however we do expect your men to treat whomever they meet in our lands the same way that we have treated you and that is with utmost respect and kindness, both men and women. Should they fail at this, they will be punished as any criminal ought to be punished for we do not give exceptions to foreign dignitaries. However, your men are given the protection of the Lakan and will be treated as part of the people of Madjayi.

Moving on to other matters, you speak of your nation's dire need of iron which we call Bakal. We cannot guarantee huge amounts can be traded to your nation since Madjayi is also in need of this great stone. We also have no knowledge of your lands and therefore do not know what our nation can ask in return for this iron. However, we have heard of a certain substance from a far-away land to the north that when mixed with charcoal (Uling) and sulfur (Sangyawa) will produce a powdery substance that when lit by fire, it will ignite. In our language it is called Salire, I believe the common name for this substance is "saltpeter". Should you have this substance, we will gladly trade our iron for this "saltpeter". Also, our nation is looking for a stone called Apog or limestone. Our nation usually uses these for glass materials that we then export to other nations. These are the materials that our nation is looking for and we'll gladly trade our iron for these materials.

Outside, the guard by the door plucked a bit of a type of pancake/crepe that was on its way to the huts in which the other men sat. The men carrying it placed it on the tables and left.

"Yes, I mean Bakarus. I thank you for letting me and my men in. Those bloody Imps (short for Imperial) chased us for miles. Anyway, you are from Ardovicia? I have heard of that nation before."

"I am not from Ardovicia, but they hired me. Ardovicia is here exploring. Can you tell us more about the position in Bakarus?"
The translator shifted in his seat a little, and wrote some notes.

The Rynaains were flourishing. Their capital os Surana was home to 80,000 Rynaains. While the rest of the major villages had over 11,000. they were starting to grow acorns with seeds, and soon found that they should get the seeds of the best tasting acorns to re-plant. Men in leather armor and with pig-iron weapons were marching around the land claiming it for the Tribe.

The cavalry had begun to gather though, and made a countercharge into the Ostyrlonians. Amidst the melee, it was not as effective, but it helped a bit, and along with limited arrow fire and Emperor Dardens III himself's personal appearance on the battlefield, fighting alongside the others (not at the front line though, just among the cavalry in the charge), spirits were buoyed, and they continued to fight. It was still unclear who would come out on top, but if it kept going, they knew that the numbers of Ardovicia would have to win.

Heridos
The calvary, taken by surprise with the enemy charge, fell back towards the front gates. Archers on the top of Heridos' Walls consentrated their fire upon the Calvary now as opposed to the Ardae Infantry. They hoped that by killing the enemy horsemen, the Ardaes would retreat. This was only a hope, though.

Meanwhile, soldiers were still preparing in the streets. Allies and other roads, especially ones leading to the Evris' Palace, were blockaded by random bits of debris or whatever was lying around. They did this in preparation for the enemy charge in to the city, which they knew was inevitable. 2,000 horsemen could not save a city from a 20,000 man army. It would just be impossible.

They stepped off of their ships and looked around, mezmorized by the strange architecture and the people, who were very alien to the Ostyrlonians, as they were wearing strange clothing. They looked about, waiting for a leader of some sort to come.

But the Rylonians would not give up, they pushed until they knew they would die here, they knew that they would not win. But they could finish their mission, supply the fort. The many supply hips did evasive maneuvers to avoid enemies, while the other ships distracted them with rammings and ballista/mangonel fire. The barrels of snakes, wasps, and burning oil seemed to do a good job of that. Many of the enemies jumped overboard at the sight.

Campaign of Nampuyeo
The conquest of Nampuyeo was going slow, but steadily as the warriors knew the way of the land from each passing battle, there have been more losses then victories but now the tide of the war was turning in favor for the Bearcalnatte. Already many of the Northern Provinces were subjugated and the Shacklefold forces were already reinforced with another 8,000 men. The campaign was going deeper south into the Nampuyeo territory but something strange started talking amongst the newly conquered territories that the country of Nampuyeo ceased to exist long ago. This would explained why the Nampuyeo were not a unified force, but scattered, smaller armies that were being defeated.

While they were advancing down south, Fridige had heard reports of a Situkok of what the Nampuyeo call" Korea", the main army of Shacklefold could not reach down into Korea anyway for they were to far from it, there was still more of the south to conquer, subjugate, and colonize and they were still rebels that still would not accept the way of Shacklefold and the Adjackrus as their gods, this means that the Clansmen of the Snow must work harder to make sure that the lands that they have conquered in the north an the lands that their army is advancing must be conquered and become scared for the glory of Ignea and the Adjackrus.

The land of Nakumura was strong, peaceful, and new. The people were busier than ever as they finished constructing the great city-states. Though, Emperor Hung felt as if something was missing. How could an Emperor rule if their was no empire to begin with. Emperor Hung called together his advisers for a very important meeting.

Image

"Gentlemen," he begun, "We face an issue, the first of our new great nation. We are a great people but with nothing yet to grasp that greatness onto. By stating ourselves as an Empire, we must become one!".
"But how will we compose what you ask? we lack the land to empower and build upon ourselves!". "We will start," The Emperor replied, "One step at a time!".

"Ready the ships and mast the sails!" The Emperor cried throughout his palace, "Do not return until you have found land for us to spread and grow!"

So the navigators and warriors loaded into fleets and begun the journey for more land in which to flourish.
Image

Among months of floating upon the pacific waters, the ships had eyes upon a small island, only north of Nakumura's borders. HAINAN.

The isle was rich with tropical fruit and farm-able land. It was not long before the ships returned to Emperor Hung to tell him the wondrous news of this uncharted island. Emperor Hung set a decree that allowed any able family to take the journey, and live and prosper with this new discovery. Families and merchants from across Nakumura flocked to catch the limited umber of ships to the new-founded colony. It was not long before the island had established coastal as well as inland towns, many of which had ports for trading and travel.

At last, Nakumura had earned the title of an Empire.

The ships approach the shore, soon all of the soldiers disembark. They begin to wade through the greenish water of the sea, while the soldiers ahead manage to reach the shore. The 10,000 of the Caliph's army are well equipped with the finest swords and armour along with training to deal with the cold weather.

Outside of the Camp
The Imperial patrol who was hunting the rebels down would arrive within 1/8th of a mile of the camp. They could see it in the distance. They were still in the forests, so they couldn't be seen. An officer would yell,"Commander, this is where I saw them! I saw them go into that village!

The commander of the patrol replied,"Those rebels picked the wrong day to mess with us. Men, advance towards the village! I want you to raid every hut and home you see. I want all of those rebels found and arrested!"

Brangay's plan to remove the daughter son of the previous king has worked. The daughter was smuggled to Musou and the son was framed for the kidnapping(due to forged letters). Therefore Leaving effectively Barangay as king. The results pleased Branangay and has given the men rewards.

King Barangay reads summary of the report he received from his officials. It reads:

The group had reached the palace of where the Queen is. Now they waited for the Queen's officials to greet them and to take them to the Queen's palace. Perhaps with this alliance, they can spread their religion to Mosuo.

The women came out to meet the men who were infront of the palace and bowed to them and begun to show their way to the Palace. They then lead the group into the palace where the Queen was at, stopping at the courtyard to greet them with the Prince who looked even more gorgeous than ever before. He had to go through alot of beautification (yes, males get beautification. It's a sign of how rich people get so handsome/beautiful), and hopefully was ready to be together with this woman under her roof. The Prince felt extremely nervous, with an uneasy smile on his face. Was he seriously sure about this marriage? Xing Loufang gave a stern look. "Treat that woman like how you would treat me." she lectured.

A week ahead.

There were ships ready to explore the outerreaches of the South. The expidition would cost about 400 women and 300 men who would be brave to volunteer under two ships. Mosuo needed to expand the borders a bit, but perhaps that island nearby. Beginning to set sail, they were off to the southeastern Island (Formosa/Taiwan/Republican China). This would be a risky expedition, but they knew they would somehow prevail. Who knows.

To Lakan Datu of Maynila
Yes I believe this trade would work successfully as we have large quantities of both of these items. I shall send a missive back to the emperor to inform him of this. Our ships will leave for your lands as soon as possible, we hope the iron will soon follow. May our trade prosper and grow in the name of the holy mother and father. Blessings be upon you. I apologise for the briefness of this message.
From. Captain Tane Monatuhu

The Empire of Rawhitiroa

Lakan Malayi was pleased with how the trade and diplomatic agreements went with the Empire of Rawhitiroa. He received the final letter from the captain of the embassy ship and he gave his order to allow the Rawhitiroan ships to begin trading in both Maynila and Sugbo in the south. He was quite intrigued with how Rawhitiroa had gotten hold of the fabled Salire and was concerned at the possible implications of the use of this substance against the Confederation. However, his thoughts were interrupted by the dabakan, alerting him to more pressing matters.

The Lakan entered the throne room where the other Datus and the rest of the court have gathered as they await the entrance of some esteemed visitors from all over the Confederation.

Across the Pulujayi Sea

"Greetings, your Magat. I have come to report on the discovery of a great nation to the north, across the Pulujayi Sea."

"And... what have you to report?"

"They are a strange people, your Magat. They speak and write in a strange language. They are whiter than the whitest person in Pulujayi. They ride in these strange ships with sails that can be folded upward when anchored or docked. The hulls of the ship resemble ours and they are also multi-masted which means that these ships must also be ocean-going like most of our ships. They have great cities and markets and the wares in those markets come not only from this strange land but also lands that we have heard of such as Arabiya and Nipo (Japan)."

The visitor then pointed to many of the artifacts and decorations found in the Lakan's Kota (Palace) which he also found in the markets of the strange land.

"I believe I have heard of this strange land before. My esteemed tutor, once told me of this land that was spotted by a trader during the time of my great-great-grandfather. I believe the land was called Mosuo? I am most intrigued by this land. Magat Itiman. Send out a small embassy fleet to make contact with these people as the soonest possible moment. I would very much like to begin a diplomatic and trading relationship with them very much like with the Empire of Rawhitiroa. Load our fleet with gold and silver and send one of our strong Kalabao* as a gift to their ruler."

Datu Itiman followed the Lakan's orders to the letter. The day after, a fleet of 5 ships laden with the precious metals and some other exotic animals set sail from Maynila to the northwest where the strange land was known to be. They also carried an important message from Lakan Malayi.

To the Illustrious and Esteemed Ruler of the Land "Mosuo"

Peace be upon you!

We have heard numerous tales of your strange land and our court has become very intrigued at what your land and its people can offer. I have also heard that our nations' traders have actually begun trading without us knowing that such activity was going on and that is one of many reasons why we have not been able to make contact in the years since. With this, I, as the Lakan of the Madjayi Confederation, would like to begin diplomatic and trading relations with your great nation. It would do us great honor if you would accept our request. Along with this, please accept our most gracious gifts for your court. We hope that this will be the spark that would ignite a long and fruitful relationship between our two great nations.

Magat Maynila Layi

Integration of Seludang (Sabah) and Barunai (Brunei)

A group of men, sharply dressed in robes trimmed with golden and silver laces wearing a heavily-decorated cloth-like headwear, entered the throne room. They are the "Malayo" (Malays), hailing from the region to the southwest of Pulujayi, on the island known to the people of Madjayi as "Timujaya" (Borneo). They were well known to the people of Pulujayi and are treated as brothers due to the cultural bonds that tie the people of Pulujayi and Timujaya together. They were also warmly welcomed as visitors to the court of Madjayi and an alliance exists between some of the tribes in Timujaya and Madjayi.

One of the Malayo men stepped forward and began delivering a message.

"The People of Seludang and Barunai have long been friends with the People of Madjayi. We have worked together for the betterment of all and our efforts have bore fruit. During the union of the tribes into the Madjayi Confederation, the tribes in Seludang and Barunai did not join due to the conflicting issues which plagued both sides. Now, that these issues and differences between Seludang and Barunai have been resolved, we have decided to join the union of the Maidh. We wish to join the Madjayi Confederation."

Lakan Malayi was ecstatic over this great news. However, a number of the Datus of the Maidh begged to disagree, and so the Datus retired to a meeting room to discuss the possible expansion of the Confederation into Seludang and Barunai. Datu Mapalad of Bohol was not convinced that the benefits of incorporating these new tribes into the Confederation would outweigh the consequences of doing so. Although this people have been close friends and allies of Madjayi, he believes that they are more of a burden to the Confederation. Datu Sibangkaya of the Palawano agreed with Datu Mapalad's opinion but also added that they might threaten the fragile union of the Confederation should they be incorporated. However, when a vote was done, the Datus who agreed to incorporate them won against those who did not, 7-3. And so, the decision was made, the tribes of Seludang and Barunai would be incorporated into the Madjayi Confederation and their datus made members of the Maidh. This decision led to the Maidh growing from its original 10 members to 15.

The Kingdom of Mindanao

Finally, the arrival of diplomats from the southern kingdom of Mindanao opened a door into which Madjayi could trade with a possible trading partner much closer to home. But their message was not what the Lakan expected. He did wish for his neighbor to be vassalized much less accept tribute from them and force them to be loyal to the Madjayi Confederation. He immediately drafted a letter to be sent to King Barangay of Mindanao.

To the Great King Barangay of the Kingdom of Mindanao

Peace be upon you!

It is with great happiness do I receive your diplomats and your warm letter of friendship into my court. As close neighbors, I believe that our friendship should be strong and unwavering even in times of trial. The people of Madjayi and of Mindanao are still what makes up the people of Pulujayi after all. So, we would be accepting your proposal for a trade agreement between our two great nations and we shall offer what help we can provide in terms of technological advancements but know that we are not as advanced as we seem to be. I, in good conscience, will also not accept your tributes or your loyalty to this confederation, instead I will accept a full military alliance between our nations should it be needed and upon your approval. Hopefully, this will only be the start of a close friendship between our two nations.

One day after another, Queen Xing Loufang had begun to wonder the future of her son with the land to the Northeast. Within hours, Xing was recieved a letter from this place called "Madjayi". Reading it, she was interested to see that Madjayian people had traded with her people many times in the past without notice. She then begun to write on a letter back to this leader.

Most esteemed Magat Maynila Layi,

We are grateful that your people enjoy our land and our customs! It's odd how you call our land strange. Was it because you've noticed we are a Shufuo (Matriarchy)? If so, then I bet this will not be the last Shufuo you'll see. We are happy to accept trade from your lands and hopefully form much more formal relations with our nations. Our fine Silks will suit your people, and maybe some of our new Laquerware would make your nobles, and mostly you proud?

▓▫The Most Serene Republic of Odessa▫▓

Ahh the Odessians. A people that we really didn't went over. Peacefully laying between the Dark sea which they call the "Black" Sea, the Odessians, decedents of people from the eastern parts of the area (Ukraine and Crimea into Southern Russia) settled down into whats now known as Odessa in 206. Without expanding their borders a bit (well maybe a tiny bit), they had enjoyed years of peace under a Republic as their elected Knyaz was there.

Mykola Kompanichenko, even though he sounds like a king, has some limited powers from him. Most of which, came from the Voices of the Nobles and a small house where the Commoners and Middle Classmen served. It could be said this is one of the earliest forms of a Republic used in this region. With a small military force, the Odessians had devoted their life into development of Science, Religion and Commence, which is why they prosper in such a large city. Right now, the Odessians are researching how to make taller stone structures for they feel their churches were too small, and needed more room, and mostly, how to make houses more durable and stronger. It won't be years later until we see skyscrapers, so for now, Odessians are starting, small, far small.

Meanwhille, the Odessians had planned a new flag out that would spread into a beautiful banner and planned a national anthem to play in a peaceful, and patriotic way to show the world that \
"Odessa's beauty opens her arms to anyone who wishes to come in" and "for this young little girl wishes to have friends who are willing to share a common ground". The flag they had planned was this:

Image

With the idea from the Ardoviciaians, Odessa has created their own national flag, but had done something different. By INSERTING their coat of arms inside of the flag, they had created something new that would change flag making forever. Perhaps having something with the flag representing the coat of arms directly inside, which was something like this:

Image

To rise above with it, Odessians still need to decide on a national anthem. However, thanks to Ardoviciaian composers, Odessa had managed to help create an anthem of their own, which would proven to be one of possibly the best pieces ever composed by Ardoviciaian-Odessians.

A second fleet, almost identical to the one sent East, was formed in the harbor. Under the command of Gheris of Heridos, the ships would carry the same resources that the Eastern Ships carried. This time, however, they would be heading south. Through trading in the Myserrin Sea, they recieved word of a mythical country in *Aphermika.

There was no garentee that the country existed, but they could atleast hope. The ships set sail, headed for the continent in hopes that they would make contact with another civilization outside of Errynpa

The engineers were all putting their efforts into the war, they figured out many useful things, but one was least of all, but very well worth mentioning. Oragen Reshi discovered that a mixture of about 75% saltpeter, 10% sulfur and 15% charcoal made a very explosive powder, aptly named "Black Powder". The first military application was an explosive ballista bolt, although it didn't work too well. The next was using the stuff to push small stones, but it was too rare to do anything but push gravel a couple dozen feet. The Impirren knew it would be useful in the future, when technology was better, but for now it was just mixed with dye and used my magicians.

After the discovery of a new iron mine (thank you Horus) and iron flowing in from overseas trade, the standard infantry can be re-equipped with chain mail. This new military strength came in time, a slave revolt occurred in the colonies after the brutal farming practices became too much for the locals. Local militias were overwhelmed and the governor was killed. An army of 10,000 was dispatched under the new Emperor, Kohi II. They engaged the slaves at the battle of Tapua hill, the slaves buckled under an early moa charge as they had never seen the giant birds before. However they retreated into dense bush where they moa could not go. They were chased by a regiment of bull men who engaged them but were pushed back with surprising strength.

However the slaves were routed when a squadron of shark men hit them from both flanks with javelins and clubs. This victory crushed the rebellion and resulted in the locals having their status upgraded to peasants and nobles being brought in from the main land to act as lords. Some inventors had the bright idea of the use of Utu (gunpowder) as a weapon. Their attempts failed miserably however that does not stop them from continuously trying.

Explorers mapping the land of the Madyayi Confederation, had noticed another land not too far away. The emperor sat in his throne and considered the implications of future diplomatic relations... "Hmmmmm, they are so close to the Madyayi Confederation they inhabit the same archipelago, a war will inevitably occur some time in the future. Diplomatic relations could result in being forced to fight an unnecessary war. However even if we are not known to them we will be forced to speak with them in the future". His decision made, the emperor dispatched an embassy ship under Captain Tane Monatahu.

To the noble ruler of the Kingdom of Midanao
We have recently discovered your land as it is located near the, which we have already made contact with Madyayi Confederation. We are a powerful and prosperous empire, and we seek trade and friendly diplomatic relations with your people. Further communication could only benefit both our great nations. May the holy mother and father smile upon your face.
Sincerely, Captain Tane Monatahu, representing Emperor Kohi III

Bearcalnatte of Shacklefold
The newly conquered lands were finally subjugated fully into the Bearcalnatte, but their was still more to conquer, they were surrounded by either Stickpickers or the Nampuryeo. Either way the Bealcalnatte has yet to become an actual country in the eyes of its leaders and clansmen. A censes was cast that showed Shackle had grown to 845,000 with a military of 82,000. This also was the first time that Shacklefold started implementing fireworks in their year festival in honor of Ignea and also that the women engineers of Greger started mass producing trebuchets for sieging purposes. A map was drawn to show the current lands that the Bearcalnatte has conquered, but it looks like they still have a long way to go in their eyes if they wanted to become a nation.

( Please tell me if this is to big)

Concern over the Incorporation of Seludang and Barunai

Lakan Malayi was glad to have heard that the Kingdom of Mindanao has accepted a military alliance with the Madjayi Confederation. He immediately began sending three military advisers to the island nation so that they may be able to brainstorm with the military leaders of Mindanao as to how the alliance could be done as effectively as possible with both nations gaining from it. He was surprised though that King Barangay of Mindanao showed concern with the recent incorporation of Seludang and Barunai to the Confederation. The incorporation was not a sign of aggressiveness on the part of Madjayi, instead it was a welcome gesture to the people of those areas because it was they, not the Maidh, who requested for their incorporation into the Confederation. Equally concerned at the possible effects of this incorporation if he did not reply at once to the Mindanaoan King, Lakan Malayi immediately began drafting a letter, explaining the situation and causes behind the incorporation of Seludang and Barunai and that this was not a show of force by the Madjayi Confederation.

To King Barangay, King of Mindanao

Peace be upon you!

First, on behalf of the people of Madjayi, we would like to thank you for graciously accepting the military alliance that we have requested. We, as a nation, truly hope that this alliance would strengthen both our nations against those who might seek the ruin of our beloved homeland and its people. However, it has come to my attention that your nation has showed growing concern over the Confederation's incorporation of the tribes in Seludang (Sabah) and Barunai (Brunei). The incorporation of these areas was done, not as a show of force or power, but as show of gratitude and friendship to the people there. They have long been friends of the Confederation and because they requested to be incorporated into the Confederation, we had little reason to not accept them at once. This incorporation was done peacefully and we did not intend for it to be a cause for grave concern for your people. We hope that you will understand. As an pledge of peace between our nations, I have made sure that the Madjayi military will stand down and will only begin to be transported into the newly incorporated territories once your military has also stood down. I have also sent three of my military advisers to your shores in the hopes of coordinating with your military leaders as to how the alliance could be made most beneficial to both of our nations.

To end this letter, once again, we thank you for accepting our alliance request and we hope that the incorporation of Seludang and Barunai would lead to further escalation between our two great nations.

Lakan Malayi also turned his attention to the arrival of the message from the Queendom of Mosuo. He also began drafting another message, thanking the monarch of Mosuo for the gifts and for opening up trade relations between Mosuo and Madjayi.

To Queen Xing Loufang, Queen of Mosuo

Peace be upon you!

We thank you for your great gifts and your acceptance of our request for trade relations between Mosuo and Madjayi. The Maidh (gathering of the tribal leaders) would also like to thank you especially for the gifts of silk which our people consider a rarity and only for those at the higher rungs of society. To answer your question, we consider your land strange, not because of your matriarchal leanings, for our nation too hold women in equal standing as men, but because of our cultural differences. This is not of insult to your culture but our people consider something different from us to be something strange. Do not worry, it is not only you and your people we consider strange. But strange can be a good thing for we believe that when strange things come our way, these things give us a chance to adapt and learn more from the strange things surrounding us and making itself shown in our everyday life. So, do not take our calling your land as "strange" as an insult. We hope that you would take it as a compliment that we differ in so many things but we can also learn as much from each other.

Once again, thank you for the message and we hope that this would be the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship between our two great nations.
