Te Kuiti Zombie Infestation IC #1

Postby Zerlos » Tue Aug 06, 2013 4:06 am

OOC Sign up thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=256085&p=15948856#p15948856

A mid-summers day. Birds chirping, trees swaying, mums with prams chattering in the streets. The people of Te Kuiti go about there lives as they do every day. The town quietly pulses, as cars drive past, commuting north and south, passing through the valley. Nothing new.

A news paper is blown across a road, like a modern tumble weed. Its headlines exclaim, "Dozens hospitalized in Australia" or "New Zealand beef industry health and safety inquiry". But these words mean little to you.

The game will begin at 4pm on a Tuesday. Your starting location is in your character profile below. The day has been trundling along like any other, but today, you have been noticing strange things, whispers from radios in stores you walk, news presenters on the T.V in the work cafeteria, a odd spike in hospital patient numbers. As the game moves on you will slowly realize the truth, and put those days of Zombie video game training to use.

For the map, go to google maps and search for Te Kuiti, New Zealand. At the beginning of each post, head it with your your characters name and address or approximate location in bold so I can keep up with you. I will be controlling the Zombies and any NPCs you come across, but I will also give players missions from time to time, that I will slip in to fit IC. Be nice. Have fun. And aim for the head--->

Note: In this senario there is no such thing as a zombie in the media. It would take away from the discovery bit of the zompocalypse.

40, King Street West

4:12 PM, Tuesday.

Something was not the way it should have been, my I could simply feel it. A dark atmosphere, something in the air. In hindsight everyone could have seen dark times approaching, but nobody believed me back then. They told me I had been acting more paranoid and sceptical than normal. I tried to ease my mind by telling myself it was just a result from that mysterious disease floating around. But the past couple of days were terrible, odd and surreal nightmares plagued what little sleep I was granted. These dreams were a welcome curse, normally I barely dreamt at all.

I had only just come out of school, and my desk was littered by half-filled notebooks and pencils. Another boring day in the grinder, I thought to myself. Nothing at school ever really catched my interest, nothing but History and Social Sciences. That was were I really excelled, where I was at the top of the class. This would be my last year and then I could go to university, get a degree and start my life. Little did everyone know what would happen in the following days.

My parents were both at work, which I didn't mind that much. I always liked to be alone once in a while, having no people around me. My room was nothing like that of my peers, odd collectibles like a mammoth's tusk shard and old gaskmasks adorned the shelves on the wall. Old WWII propaganda posters decorated the blank spots in my chambers, Uncle Sam's everpresent gaze watching my every move.

I simply sat down and picked up a pencil, started sketching some random figures. Soldiers, elves, orcs and all sorts of fantasy and sci-fi creatures.

And so it began.

Just North of Te Kuiti

The day started off normal, taking Lucky for a walk through the woods north of town checking snare lines and shooting off a few makeshift arrows at random trees, but the ride home was very different. The usual native music I listened too was replaced by strange news reports of mysterious disappearances and rising numbers in hospital admission but to me it was just random chatter. I turned off the radio and drove towards home with my hand on Lucky's head.

Zacheriah looked up from his book, the radio catching his ear. He had been hearing about this disease for a couple weeks but before now he never took it seriously. Now though, for whatever reason, he closed his book around the bookmark and stood up. A quick check of the windows and doors assuaged his fears of someone just walking in as they were all locked. He then put a couple bottles of water, a couple cans of food, and a couple changes of clothes into a backpack and set it next to his chair. Lastly, he grabbed his bow, quiver, and axe and set them next to the backpack.

Finally satisfied with his preparations he sat down and opened his book again. "Darvit..." he silently muttered as he realized his bookmark had fallen out.

4:15 p.m. Tuesday
Tammadge Street

I pulled back into the northern edge of town on Tammadge Street the way I normally did to avoid anyone in town who decided to be talkative today. I pulled into the driveway in my rickety old 83 Chevy as it sputtered to a hault. Lucky, eager to get to eat jumped from the truck and bolted to the door where he waited wagging his tail. "Easy boy," I said nudging him aside to unlock the door. Everything seemed eerily silent. Like a shadow had descended on the entire town suppresing light and even sound. I heard the tumbler click and opened the door. The house was small but with a low income thats how things had to be. I poured some dry dog food in Lucky's bowl and myself some cereal. The TV was left on and talk of the mysterious occurrence were still buzzing about. I only half listened to the message and what I heard I disregarded.

One tin of beans.

One loaf of bread.

One tin of cat food.

The repetition of small town life tapped away incessantly at Char's brain, so much so that what we'd call ordinary was just a grey blur to Char. Get up, wash, get dressed, breakfast, bike, work, bike, feed the cat, dinner, TV, bed, Every day of the week bar Thursday, where she managed to escape Te Kuiti and lose herself in the the thick heather and bracken of the mountains to the north and west.

This particular Monday had started like any other. Alarm at 6:30, work at 9, Lunch at 1:30, away at 4:15. A quick stop off at the supermarket was a positively interest splash in the dull canvas that was her life. But she liked it this way. No shocks, no surprises. Just good, old fashioned dredge.

Until that one day. That one fateful, terrible day, when everything changed.

Everything was just slightly different on that Thursday. She couldn't place it. The garbage truck had come at the same time, but there was something off. Everything was to Gary for the town that usually vibrantly coloured. She'd heard some Doctors at the hospital, one native and the other an Aussie, talking about some new form of Rabies which had appeared in a Hobart Hospital. She thought nothing of it, because she lived in the new age where Humanity seemed hell-bent on brining itself down. A few years ago, whilst traveling across Asia, she'd found God. Not in a big cathedral, adorned with splending gold and silver, but in the eyes of the little Cambodian boy whom she watched die of dysentery whilst she attended to his mother. It had torn her soul out, and she had retreated to the church, where she could find peace and solace in such a cruel world.

The small cross on her car dashboard jangled on its string as she closed the door of her car after dropping the shopping in the boot. She stared at it for a few seconds, thoughts and memories flooding back. She shook her head and put the car into reverse.

Over all channels comes the pale, terrified face of a man, a news presenter. He stares at the screen, speechless, the papers shaking in his hands. After a few seconds of silence, the camera switches to his Co-host. She seems more composed, but her messy straw hair hangs over her shoulders, instead of tied back as usual.
"People of New Zealand. The dead have begun to rise. An infection is spreading. If you have been bitten by a man or woman in the last 24 hours, please report to the hospital. If you see one of the undead, DO NOt approach him. This is not a drill, this is not a joke. My god, save us all."
Her last words were whispers, the screen cut to colour bars. Her voice had been recording and was repeating over all channels and frequencies on the radio.

At the hospital. I man, shaking and green in the face, stumbles into the hospital. Blood streamed down his arm, from under a bandage. He called in a raspy voice.
"Please.... a doctor"

I sat in awe as I watched the news. I knew what this meant, even though I did not realize it at that point.

The apocalpyse.

I felt a mix of fear and sinister eagerness cloud my mind at that moment, I did not yet understand the meaning of 'hell on earth' at that moment.

After a few seconds of shock I managed to pull myself together. I stood up and emptied my school bag, books and pencils falling out and littering the floor. We knew nothing about the virus at that point, so I grabbed my gas mask and opened the plastic bag which contained the old and unused filter. It reeked with old age, as the stench entered my nostrils. With haste I attached the filter to the mask and put it on. 'I need a weapon' I thought to myself.

I quickly ran outside to the shed, were a grabbed a firemans axe. Logic would suggest we had sometime before the first zombies would appear, so I started preparing. I grabbed whatever usefull I could find, ductape, lots of bottles of water, matches, a deck of cards.

I packed my bag with these items and started writing a note to my parents, for if they came back here.

"Dear parents. I am heading south, away from this place. Whatever you do, avoid the major cities, they are going to be crawling with zombies. Head south, away from Hamilton. Take whatever you can with you."

I left the note on the kitchen table and I stepped outside. With the fireaxe in my hands and a mask on my head I looked around me, seeing panicked people everywhere.

"This is it." I whispered to myself.

Tuesday, 3:12 AM

Riley was called in at 3 in the morning for an emergency operation he would supervise. As he pulled into the parking lot he saw a lot of commotion going on inside. As he walked towards the door he saw a co-worker sitting on a bench holding his arm as a nurse looked over his arm. Riley walked over and saw that a huge chunk had been taken out of the man's arm. What or who would do this? When he got inside almost immediately he was ushered into the ER. After a few minutes of sterilizing himself he got to the operating table and looked on in horror of what he saw. A woman lay on the table she had no right arm and had a massive piece gone from her right leg. Two surgeons his senior staff members were frantically trying to stop the bleeding and get her under control. Dumbfounded for a few moments he watched as she eventually slipped into death. A moment later she was pronounced dead. One of the surgeons stayed to watch over for a moment and that was the last moment of his life. Almost from a movie she lurched. The surgeon jumped from being scared. She lurched again. He then looked back at Riley in bewilderment. Then it happened.

As he turned to look back the women's eyes burst open and she released a blood curdling screech. This time both the surgeon and Riley jumped. And that almost saved the surgeon. Almost. The woman got up and took a swipe at the surgeon. Grabbing him by the neck she pulled him to her mouth and she took a huge bite out of his neck. Then she went to town and started to devour him. Riley yelped and stood there watching too scared to move. Then a gunshot forced him too his senses. He had to get out of there. Going back into the sterilization room he quickly put his clothes back on and ran for the exit. Looking down the hall he saw two officers shooting down several of those things. Looking across the hall he saw the medicine room where they stored many painkillers and various other prescription drugs. Riley ran over to the door and tried to open it. With no suceess he looked around and saw a dead man. He recognized him as the pharmacist. Riley grabbed his key and opened the door quickly he ran inside and grabbed as many drugs as he could. He especially grabbed many anti-depressants. After he left and locked the door behind him Riley decided itd be best if he went out the back. So he ran out that way and when he got outside he could see the entire town in complete chaos. Riley sprinted to his car and quickly started the engine and went home as quickly as possible.

Tuesday, 4:07 PM

Riley arrived home only to see his house being ransacked by two masked men. One of the men had a large machete and the other a crowbar. One was using the crowbar to pry open the door and the other was standing watch. As Riley drove up the road the kid noticed the car and ran away. Scouring his car Riley found a large case that was to store his new gun. Taking that he walked outside and approached the men.
"Get the hell away from my door you asshole!"
"And what will you do?"
With that Riley quickly went up to the one with the machete and swung the case at the man's head. Clipping his forehead with it the man began bleeding over his eyes. The man with the crowbar took it out of the door and began to run at Riley. Riley quickly swung again at the machete man's head and missed but hit his shoulder. After that the other man was upon him swinging the crowbar fast at Riley's head. Holding up the case to block the blows Riley moved back. When the man had stopped Riley threw the case at him and lunged. The case hit the bandit's face and dazed him a little. Riley tackled the man and began punching him. After a few punches the man was out cold. Picking up the crowbar in a mad rage Riley started beating the other man in the chest and arms. After a few hits the man dropped the machete and ran off in a random direction.

Riley went inside his house grabbed his gun and the machete from the other man and drove to his neighbor's house to see if they were alright.

Tuesday, 4:15 am

Michael was woken by his doorbell, a sound he expected never to hear again in fact he half expected to be dead before he woke, when he answered the door he found his neighbor Riley who he had only met a week or two earlier. Riley asked several questions about people ransacking the house which frightened Michael so he asked for assistance in boarding up the house.

Tuesday 6:00 am

After boarding up the house Michael asked his neighbor if he had anything left at his home and showed him a secret entrance he had found a few days ago along with all the weapons and food. He was naturally trusting of Riley. He only asked that he help keep him safe Michael was very weak and knew he couldn't defend himself

Lucky sat at my feet whimpering up at me. I pat his head and gathered up my hunting supplies (my bow, 15 arrows a skinning knife 2 canteens some snares a flare gun and 3 cans of baked beans. I snatched my keys from the counter and headed out into the driveway. The same eerie silence greeted me that had been there before. I already had my skinning knife out as I creeped back to the truck.
"It's okay boy," I said stroking his dirty fur and backing out of the driveway not totally sure where I was going.

Liam lined up the sights of his hunting rifle. He pulled back the trigger and the rifle bucked in his hands. The deer let out a whin of surprise before careening over, dead.

"Nice", said Tim, Liam's hunting buddy.

Liam lived with four friends in his house. Tim was the guy who was always ready to fight. Jack was a pacifist. He was no fun. Finally, Vincent was the brains of the group. The friends had all gone through basic training together, but had dropped out when Jack had been kicked. Liam and Tim walked over to were the deer lay. Tim pulled out a knife and started to flay and gut the carcass. Liam jogged back to the hunting blind and started their ATV. They only used it for hunting and planned to sell it soon to upgrade. As he turned around, he heard yelling.

"The Fuc-?!?", yelled Tim as a man lunged at him. Tim, being, well, Tim, picked the man up and threw him backwards. He lifted his knife and was ready to stab him when Liam began driving towards them.

"What the hell, man. What did I do to you?" Asked Tim as the man came back.

Tim cut the man, but the man didn't react. The man tried to bite Tim, a rabid look on his face. Tim grabbed the mans head, and punched the man in the chest. He staggered backwards and Tim picked up the rifle.

"If you come closer, I'll shoot you, man!", yelled Tim

The man stepped forward and Tim shot him in the chest. The man staggered but didn't fall. Tim worked the bolt, cursing as the man came forward. Meanwhile, Liam was driving towards them as fast as he could go. Tim lifted the rifle one more time, and shot the man in the torso again. The man fell and lay still.

"Jesus Fricking Christ! You shot him twice and he didn't die!" Said Liam as he pulled up, "Lets get outa here!"

Tim and Liam drove away, leaving the deer carcass and the dead man (zombie). As they drove away, the body stirred. It was not dead. It would feed. It dragged itself toward the carcass and began feeding, letting out a moan as it did so.

I (Jean) turned off the T.V. after the report and got his weapons together. A Swiss army knife, a Cavalry sword and a crossbow with 15, no, one is broken, 14 arrows. I went down the stairs to the fridge and the food cabinets and got some food, most of it canned. Damn, I wish I had got some food yesterday, after packing it all in my bag I had two cans of soup, one box of cheese crackers, a half empty jar of peanut butter, a quarter loaf of pre-sliced bread and three bottles of beer. I put them together in the bag on the couch, locked the door and put on my bullet-proof body armour, my medic uniform and my helmet to protect me from the criminals and rabid people had heard about in the report, almost immediately he remembered when he had been called to action once in a massive riot in Paris gone violent, and knew worse would happen this time, he had also served in the temporary french involvement in the invasion of Iraq as a translator and a medic for one of the US fire teams but knew that cannibalism would be far worse than seeing men being eaten alive as many sources had suggested. He then ran outside to almost immediatly see a man trying to fight off burglars and shouted at one of them, "Hey, get the hell away from this town and don't come back or I'll help him kick your fucking ass!" he looked at the man with a slightly bloody crowbar and asked "You aren't one of the rabid monsters are you?" now getting worried. Asni drove the empty streets occasionally passing a looter I came up on a boarded up house. I pulled my truck to the curve and pushed Lucky down in the floor board before stepping out. I drew an arrow and strung the bow as I rounded a the edge of the truck. A nearby squirrel nudge a garbage can causing my heart to race. Everything began to slow as I neared the door almost to a snails pace at first I knocked so quietly nonnoise was made, then only slightly louder.

The streets swarm with terrified people, screaming and shoving. People are dragged to the pavement by gnashing teeth, and clawing hands. The police station begins to set up a barricade of the building, trying hopelessly to establish some sense of order, shouting into the crowd. To go out into the main streets means certain death. Slowly the numbers of the dead outweigh the numbers of the living, as the tide of battle turns. Small groups of resistance spring up, and are quickly dragged down with the rest. A group of four men rush out from a local pub, pool cues and glass bottles in hand. The doors are slammed shut behind them. As the horde descends upon them, their pathetic wails, and fists pounding on the door go unnoticed, the pool cue rolls from one of the mans grasp as the life is torn from his chest.

There is no order. The only ones that will survive over the next 24 hours will be the ones that keep quite, out of sight. Houses are bordered up, resources are stockpiled, and the people of Te Kuiti brace themselves for the apocalypse.

Liam drove into the open garage as Jack and Vincent walked out of the door holding baseball bats. Liam turned off the ATV as Tim slung the rifle off of his shoulder. He passed it to Liam and ran into the house. He returned a few minutes later holding and old revolver.

"How the hell did you get that thing!?!", asked Jack, incredulously.

"I'm prepared, that's how.", replied Tim.

Jack was about to reply when they heard screaming from in the streets. They ran back into the house and past the barred windows. The houses lower windows were barred and the upstairs window were narrow. The front door was heavy oak, and the back yard was fenced in with wire. Liam stuck the rifle out of the second story window and looked outside. The dead were in the streets. As he watched, a group of gun armed policemen were overrun and torn to pieces. Liam was about to fire when Tim stopped him.

"We can't kill them. It's no use. Don't waste ammo."

The pair walked downstairs to were Jack was nailing boards over the barred windows. The basement of the house was a preppers paradise, as it had been a bomb shelter originally. It was now stocked with food, supplies and what small amounts of ammo they could come by. There was also another bolt-action hunting rifle. Out in the street, a group of people were running by, away from the undead. They were again overrun, close to the safety of the police station. The four friends, sick of watching the slaughter in the streets, then settled down to wait the storm out.

4:30pm
Zacheriah sprung up at the sound of familiar barking and swiftly walked to the back door, unlocking it and ushering his dad and dog inside. "It's going crazy out there. I got some extra boards and screws from work. We need to barricade the entire house up." his dad said, heading to get his toolbox.
"We probably shouldn't be too loud with this. Minor barricades while being as quiet as possible and blackout curtains." Zacheriah said

5:15pm
Zacheriah and his dad finished the barricading. One or two boards on every window and door leading outside except one which had a heavy table and heavy chair blocking it. Also, any window leading outside had a heavy blanket or cloth preventing any light from escaping. "Now we sit still and hope they don't find us."

[Arulean States]
A single zombie. Just one moaning undead guy, pushes against the wire fence, at the back of the house. He is wearing clean blue jeans, and a long sleeve white shirt, with a gaping hole in the chest. Just one zombie. Moaning and wailing.

[Canirytas]
Down the road to your left you see a swirling battle of claws and baseball bats, to your right you see only two things. A young woman, running, and a Z.

The man mustn't have heard you. He hopes into his car and drives away. You are standing on the road, all alone. The echoes of scream pass over the houses, but other wise there is an odd silence.

[Cyborg Holland]
As you are reversing, you see out the corner of your eye, a man, dressed in a medic outfit [Alouite]. What the hell is he doing?

Oh f**k, oh f**k she was repeating in her head. He couldn't be one of them could he. He was just human looking. She backed out of the driveway and pulled the car round to where the man was standing. He looked like a war surgeon. She pushed open the passenger door and cleared the junk off the seat before shouting

"Charlotte North, nice to meet you. Get in the f***ing car!"

Inside the house a small, quiet, but very heated argument erupted. "Someone's out there!" Zach whispered fiercly
"No, it's a zombie!" his father replied in kind
"Zombies don't knock you moron! If there was shuffling and such then yeah but SOMEONE just knocked."
"So what the hell are you going to do? Let them in? It's not like we have more than two weeks and water for our own selves!"
"What, you'd rather I leave them out there to die?"
"I'd rather you think of your own survival before you think of others."
"and I'd rather not lose my humanity not even a day into the damn apocalypse."

The argument settled Zach struggled to move the chair and table out of the way enough to open the door just wide enough for someone to squeeze in. "Get in quick and help me push this stuff back." he said to whoever was out there.

16:15, Te Kuiti Road, next to Centennial Park.

It seemed like a day like any other, the first time I encountered a zombie.

Some of the people at work talked about a new strain of rabies that was apparently a big deal to them but I dismissed it as typical island mentality. Fearing the diseases and harmful flora and fauna coming from the big bad outside world.

It wouldn’t be long before I realized how wrong I was.

It was around a quarter past four, I was riding my bike and was almost at home when while I was passing Centennial Park I heard the barking of a dog. Internally I laughed at myself, associating it with the rabies stories I heard at work. But this dog didn’t sound like it was barking out of aggression. It sounded more like the dog was in fear. It even sounded like despair.

I have always loved animals. I got along with them much better than I did with my fellow species.

I was fairly certain about what dog it was as well. A young woman named Laura Oaktree, who lived only a few houses away from mine was usually jogging in the park at around this time. And she always had her golden retriever with her. I think I even recognized the dogs voice.

I decided to see have a look and see what was going on. The dog really sounded terribly upset.

As I rode my bike in the direction of the barking I could soon see from a distance Laura Oaktree being chased by a strange man and Laura’s dog running around, barking and feinting attacks on the man in a desperate attempt to distract him. It didn’t work at all however, although it should have.

Laura, what is going on? I asked in a loud voice, more expecting to scare the man than to get any actual information. But again the man continued unfased with his chase after Laura.

Laura was breathing heavily. Harrie, thank god. Please help me. This man is insane.

I could tell by the way he moved that there was something very wrong with him. I know how people normally move. In fact you could say I am even a bit of an expert. I have been a passionate amateur boxer for years and one of my biggest strengths as a boxer was feeling the rithem and predicting the movements of my opponents.

But this man moved more like a lizard or an insect than a normal human being. There was nothing strategic about his chase. He didn’t let anything distract him but also he fell for every trick Laura used to trow him of her track.

I sped towards them and made a very sudden stop right between Laura and this stranger.

I was planning to ask the man in an imposing way what he was doing but he simply ignored me, not as much trying to push me away as just simply trying to walk right through me in his continuous attempt to get at Laura.

One thing that also struck me as extremely odd. I could hear Laura’s heavy breathing as she pleaded for my help but I couldn’t hear the mans breathing at all. And he didn’t look anything like an athlete.

For sure he didn’t move like one.

So I grabbed the mans shoulder which slowed him down some but didn’t get his attention and then took him over my hip, gently laying him on the ground in a rudimentary Judo move.

Then, right after the man fell to the ground and without hesitation started to get up I looked into his eyes.

These were no human eyes. They weren’t even the eyes of a mammal or bird.

They were dead eyes. Eyes of a shark. A mindless predator, only acting on basic instinct.

I felt a cold spell, going through my body. But at least I got him to focus on something else then Laura.

He had his mind set on me now. Without even getting up he tried to trow himself at me. Again my boxing experience came in handy. I found the actions of a boxer often pretty predictable but with this man It was like I knew hours in advance what he was going to do next.

Mister, please calm down I told him as I was avoiding his attacks. I don’t want to hurt you.

To no avail. His dead eyes showed no emotions. No presence. His plan was to get a hold of me to do god knows what and there was nothing else driving him.

Be careful Harrie. He is a biter, I heard Laura warning me from my back.

Right now I was in no immediate danger. I could hold on avoiding the man like this for at least half an hour before I would get seriously tired. But Laura’s shouting did distract me a little so despite of the situation I calmly asked her to be still.

But what to do about the man. I wasn’t planning on dancing with him for the rest of the night and obviously there was no talking to him. He didn’t show the slightest sign of fatigue which was the weirdest part of the situation.

There was nothing else too it. I needed to take the guy out. Thinking that the guy might have rabies I did wrap a handkerchief around my right fist to avoid cutting my skin and possibly getting infected myself.
Right, this is your last warning I said. Calm down or you will get hurt.
No response. At this point I wasn’t expecting one either. So I gave him a half hearted uppercut followed by a right hook to his temple. Clean hits. The man went down.

But without any hesitation immediately got up again. What the hell is going on I thought. Maybe a good old fashioned punch in his nose might him think things over and that is what I did. It knocked the man on his ass but he didn’t even blink as without any hesitation he tried to get back up again.
I was panicking at that point and also perhaps a bit frustrated that my strikes had so little effect so that is when metaphorically I took my gloves off and rained a flurry of hard punches from every angle to his head.

Hooks, uppercuts. All supposedly finishing blows. I wasn’t out to floor the guy by now. I was trying to KO him.

It didn’t work. He was even trying to grab and bite my arms as I was clobbering his face.

His nose was broken, both his eyes almost completely shut and several deep cuts and dark bruises covered his face.
But no sign of backing off. No sign of fatigue.

Was I not hitting him hard enough? Was I being to gentle with him because I wasn’t wearing gloves?

It was time to go full power. Go all out. A power hook against his temple should do the trick.

So I put all my weight behind it and cracked his skull finally taking him out.

I realized I was breathing heavy myself. More of panic and rage than of actual fatigue but still.

Laura had also collapsed to the ground with her dog licking her in the face.

For all I knew the guy has been chasing her for hours before someone finally showed up to help.

I decided it was a good idea to call the emergency number with my cell phone but for some reason I couldn’t get a connection.

What was I to do now? Leave Laura and the man in the park and try to get some help in the village?

OOC: Good point Jinwoy. If everyone could start heading their posts with the time to make it easier to RP with each other. The time is currently 6:30pm, the sun is setting. Your first night. Good luck folks.

August, 7th 2013| 15:58 p.m. New Zealand Standard Time | New Zealand, Te Kuiti.

Today begun just like any other, I got up went to work for minimal wage at the shit hole that is Dalziel's home appliance center; I worked my ass off for this incompetent idiot of a boss then I took my leave after my shift was done and headed to a nearby cafe down the road. Yep, just like any other day, this was meant to be a day like any other...

As I made my way to the cafe I noticed a notable difference in the atmosphere of the town. I couldn't put my finger on it but I knew something wasn't the norm, this town was normally very active and the people sociable despite the relative small size of the town. It was almost felt like the town was deserted save for a couple of people who seemed to be in quiet a hurry jogging off somewhere.

My expectation of digging into a bacon butty was cut short as the cafe was closed earlier than usual. The cafe as I peered through the window looked like it got ransacked by a group of apes it was possibly a target of a robbery. Shame I thought to myself I then decided to just make my way back home and take a walk through Centennial Park on the way just for the change of scenery.

As I was nearing the park past Te Kuiti road something caught my attention. There was someone on the floor with a dog by their side and another figure lying in front of a man who was in a sort of a defensive boxer stance and looking back he'd appeared to have knocked and severally beaten the other guy out. I'm normally the one not to get myself into a mess or situation I can easily avoid or that doesn't concern me but for once I decided to play the good samaritan and see what's up. Who knows maybe there is a humorous story involved.

"Hey, what the hell is going on over there?" Not really sounding like I'm here to help but I'm sure I'll get a response explaining what the actual hell is going on here.
