Over the past months the positive opinion of the NCR congress had plummeted. Congressional power exited that of the president and stuff was just not getting done,This has caused Bass Monroe, (President Junes Brother) to become increasingly depressed of the democratic government. As such, his sister and his brother in law tried to control his rapid accentuation in the Military and the NCR government.

On the steps of the NCR congress
Bass Monroe speaking to a crowd of civilians and soldiers alike " My brothers, To long have our family's died while cowards survive, To long has this congress sent our men and women to die to protect trade routs thats wealth never leaves that building! (pointing at congress hall) So today I give you a choice, Join my militia and let it be know that we will not accept the status qoe, or will you wait for this congress to run our people into the ground!" Over the next few months huge numbers of NCR citizens are seen wearing those armbands and protesting.

Turn Update
As the winter months came to an end and spring drew close the factions are no longer alone, in the past erratic raider groups had ruled the land. No longer, Now every NPC faction you meet will be exactly that, A faction of organized people. Will you conquer? or will you be a peaceful ally ?

Across the New California Republic
There have been frequent fights between pro-Monroe and Pro-Congress citizens in small isolated incidents. However more and more of these incidents have have escalated into full scale riots with both sides using simple improvised weapons. Troops have been deployed to keep the peace but it doesn't seem to be working. And it doesn't help that Bass Monroe is becoming more and more influential over the military, and in some cases, the troops are under orders to arrest only the pro-congress protesters. June and Alexander publicly denounce Bass, adding fuel to the flame. Civil war is feared to break out.

As the Mainelander troops push inland, conquering half the state, they are suddenly met by stiff resistance from organized groups! Maine Command( :rofl:

) starts training an additional 500 troops(the town militias) into an organized fighting force, and an additional 3 ships are made, making the navy 15-strong ships. Negotiations are opened with the smaller organized groups, while the bigger organized groups are left alone for now.

The Republic of Albany has The county's of Albany, Columbia, Rensselaer, Greene, Schoharia, and Delaware. Some see it as a political plan to grow the Hudson Bay Republic. The Survivalists continue to grow, they continue to prosper, they continue to fight. The winter was harsh but survivable. The lake made the environment colder than other parts of the country but nothing that the Survivalists could handle. Once the winter ended the Survivalists, now stronger than ever, continue to spread out, fighting, conquering, annihilating those that stood in the way of their conquest...

"How many factions are left?" asked James.
"Sir, we still don't know exactly how many factions there are in the state of Illinois but from what our scouts have gathered, within a 100 mile radius from our base in Chicago there are approximately 11 factions left." reported Billy,
"That's good there were 15 factions from what I knew correct?" asked James.
"Yes sir." answered Andrew
"I heard that there was a new faction on the rise though, one intent on destroying us..." said James. "Just like those raiders from that time."
"Don't worry sir." said John. "The leaders of the new faction were planning on waiting a year before attacking us from what we heard. However, word of our power paralyzed most survivors from joining the new faction. Many who originally joined the new faction began to leave once they saw that no one was coming. With your command we could easily conquer them with our army."
"Now now, I'm a man who won't hesitate to use force when necessary but from what I heard we can easily solve this problem." said James. "We have quite a useful 'assassin' among our army correct? The one known as Jill..."
"Yes sir, he's quite remarkable actually. We only have two sniper rifles and about 5 ammo each but he's an excellent sharpshooter." said Andrew.
"I think it would be interesting if Jill met those leaders of the new faction... Wouldn't you guys agree?" asked James.
"Most intriguing sir." replied the advisers.

A week later... The new faction's leaders were assassinated. Many faction leaders who were planning on fighting the Survivalists feared their lives and either ran or surrendered. Those that feared for their lives, or those who desired protection, or those that agreed with the Survivalists flocked from around the state to join the Survivalists.

Survivalists population: 650 (150 increase), area of control, about 35 miles from Chicago (3mile increase)

TURN UPDATE
It appears that the worlds ecosystems are starting to recover, the normal seasons are returning with cooler summers and warmer winters. But it's not all fun and games. It is still post-apocalyptic America, and all the dangers it has (Bandits raiders, people killing each other over food and shelter) and Local factions, depending on were you are there has arisen four powerful factions, (Blue) The Georgia Federation, (Gold) The Plains Nation, (Brown) Mexican Confederacy and (Dark Grey) The Canadian alliance. (I will RP all these factions.) To them will you be an ally? or an adversary?
PS- All factions on their side of the Mississippi river can now talk to each other via HAM radios, don't expect face to face contact with factions you do not share borders with.

June and Alexander called this meeting to talk about Monroe, June spoke first "He would destroy everything we worked so hard to build,He would destroy our democracy and" She was cut off by one of Sebastian supporters "And what, Restore order? Face it Madam President The NCR will not last, It has only been 3 years and our country is already tearing at the seems,..." This argument lasted for hours, by then it was to late, an NCR platoon under congressional orders marched into the Monroe Militia headquarters to arrest Bass Monroe and his (Lifelong friend, not-blood Brother and Commanding general of the Militia) Miles Matheson.

Miles was speaking looking at reports of bandit activity, " How could things fall apart so quickly bass?" "How can you surprised, people tried to return to there normal lives after a nuclear war, any sense of law an order dissipated, people chose not to fight, and they are regretting that now." Miles looks down, saddened by the truth but Bass continues, "But thats why we are were we are today, we've been brothers all our lives, we have watched each others backs sense day 1, we know what it takes to survive, the rest of these people don't"
His final words are cut off by the arresting soldiers, "Sir" The head Sargent speaks up "We need you to come with us" Monroe laughs under his breath "Really"
Glancing at miles and his Militia soldiers around the room, as he said the fallowing words they all readied their weapons "I don't think that's going to happen"
A tense few seconds fallow until Miles speaks up " Take em'" a fury of gunfire leaves the NCR troopers dead on the floor, they hadn't even drawn there weapons, The Civil war has begun both Miles and Bass knew it, the only question was how to lead the Monroe Republic to victory?

About half of Massachucets is in the new United States control. They send military to take over the half that is not in their control,Vermont,new Hampshire,Connecticut and Rhode Island.

The men that have been sent out to the states have been doing a good job. The ships sent to Maine returned and told us the news. We sent 1 to New Hampshire and 1 to Connecticut to help out.

A lot of people are coming in each day and joining. The people at the other states are getting a lot of people.

Ship yards have been built and are constructing an armada of 17 ships. We don't know how many they can make but they are trying to get 17 ships.

James was massaging his temples infront of his advisers...

"I don't believe this... 3 months..." James said quietly. "3 MONTHS!? ARE YOUR FREAKING KIDDING ME? WE'VE BEEN BOGGED DOWN BY ONE FACTION A TENTH OF OUR SIZE FOR 3 MONTHS?"
The advisers were silent.
"We've all but cleared every other opposition in the state of Illinois but here we are in a war of attrition for 3 months with no movements on either side." said James. "Our numbers are close to a thousand now that most survivors in the state know that we're the dominant force here. Yet here we are fighting full force with casualties rising by the day."
"It's expected sir, we didn't expect such a small faction to own a working gun factory. Even though our army number close to 600, most of our men are fighting with melee weapons. On the other hand, all though the enemy faction only number little over a hundred all of them have ranged weapons. If we brashly charge up to them it'd be a massacre." said Billy.
"The smartest course of action right now is to wait for winter than starve them out. We can easily surround them with our numbers." added Andrew.
"I know gents I know." agreed James. "But if we do so it would be a sign of weakness in this critical moment. We need to tell the world that the Survivors are strong. That not even guns can stop us. If we succeed in conquering them outgunned it would send a warning to others, those that feared us without guns would fear us even more WITH guns."
"Than how about this plan?" asked John opening a piece of paper. "I have a plan... And if all goes smoothly we should be able to conquer them quite easily."

As peace talks with the larger Maine factions continue, the smaller ones are overrun one-by-one, quietly. With a gun factory and shipyard, it's time to move to another level: Oil.

"Sir, these are the positions of the oil foundries in the Atlantic. Only 1 survived fires, storms, nuclear winter, and pretty much everything else you can think about. We have the naval power, and if we can take this, we can start rebuilding civilization, as we'll have access to cars."

The General of the Mainelander jumps in, "What's this about oil? If we get that, we can move troops with speed, and introduce the other factions to working tanks! My vote is to do it."

A ship sets out to scout the foundry and salvage what oil it can. If the oil foundry is in working condition, than oil can start production immediately. If not... it would take years to fix it.

"Shut up." said another. "This is for the glory of the Survivalists and for our future."
"I know but seriously? The sewer? Couldn't the advisers come up with something better?" said the first one.
"Look, it's either the sewer or being drilled with bullets. Which one do you want?" said a third soldier.
"Keep it quiet back there. We're probably right underneath those guys. We just need to go for a little while longer than we can get out of this dump. After that its shooting time." said the leader.
"So what was the plan again?" asked the first one.
"Idiot. This sewer leads inside the factory used by our enemies' as their main base. If we can successfully enter the factory and surprise them we can easily beat them with minimum casualties. After this faction is gone the state of Illinois is good as ours." said the leader.
"As for the plan we just go in, shoot every enemy that refuse to surrender and hold those that surrendered at gunpoint so that no funny business occurs. There's only about 100 of the enemies. But I bet only a few dozen of them are up since it's night time. Speed is essential.If all goes well we get out of this unscathed and back home free."
"Oh. Sounds easy enough." said the first soldier.
"Right. Sir I think we're here." said the second soldier looking up at a ladder.
"Everyone present right?" asked the leader.
"PRESENT SIR!" said all 30 members of the task force.
"Too loud. All right gents let's get this started."

By dawn the enemy faction was annihilated and the survivalist managed to conquer the last remaining faction within Illinois and a working gun factory.

As the ships approach the foundry, they are slightly disheartened. All lights are off, and there are no signs of life. On closer expection, however, it appears that the foundry only requires power and basic maintenance! Supplies are requested, and a massive project is underway to get the oil production up and running. Estimated time: 2 months.

In other words, the Mainelanders now stretch far into the state itself. 237 people have died from combat, reducing the army to 750. However, with the acquisitions of land and new 4 child policy, the population is growing considerably. Total population is now estimated 3000.

\The winter comes, and for once its not all that bad, sure it snows a lot but no one is freezing to death (Literally), It is now proof that the earth is starting to get its seasons together. Its a very mild winter, Bad part, people aren't going to stop killing each other because its cold. Because war, war never changes.

After raiding several local armories, the Volk realized that they didn't need to only use the stuff their ancestors brought. The Volk began using some American equipment as well as Russian.

The two united Russian Army groups made plans to unite with the other splinter they managed to contact, and bring them into the ASSR.

Winter, the Survivalists continue what they have done for the past years. Scavenge, ration, destroy enemies. Well, maybe not the last part. With the fall of the last major faction within the Survivalists' area in Illinois the Survivalists decide to cut back on its invasion policy for the season. The fact that the Survivalists had a working gun factory scared pretty much every faction and raiders within a 150 miles from Chicago. But that did not change the might of the Survivalists' army. James decided to lower the army to a 100 until winter's end, while making the former soldiers focus on domestic improvement. James and his advisers knew that they needed to increase their farms and find a way to use the radiated water from Lake Michigan. The number of items and food from scavenging was declining steadily but thankfully a random raider group or two always popped up every week either surrendering or saying good bye to their lives as they met the force of the Survivalists' army. But things were changing, and it wasn't just the winter.

The winter has not been bad in New York. With the annexation of the rest of New York City old military ships have been found. They are far from working condition but we have started to repair them and we believe they will be ready by the next season. We take many Naval engineers that the old Albany Republic. This opens the idea of colony's and gathering of oil from oil rigs. All of The Republic report having enough power for there homes and daily lives. More and more factions are joining our republic because of of power fear of bandits or out of our clever diplomatic offers. The Hudson bay republic takes up most of the south west of New York. Also Anthony and Serena the leaders of the republic report Serena will be having a baby within the next few seasons.

Opposing faction base, Maine

Gunfire riddled the air as the Mainelanders opened fire on the base. Deeming the opposing faction weaker in the winter, they had assaulted their base after they rolled out their "surprise". Suddenly, the hulking forms of tanks flew from the Mainelander lines, blasting the enemy positions. Warfare was now on a new scale, the General thought, watching the elite Maine Army overwhelm the base, claiming the Northernmost part of Maine for themselves.

Other news:
-Eastport now has gun, ammo, and oil storage facilities, along with mines and a, though abandoned, functional shipyard(not enough metal).
-Raiders that attack Maine towns and cities are being viciously fought by militias, and the larger bases are being attacked by Maine Army forces.
-A warship, the MLN Oilander, is launched to defend the shipping routes from pilots.
-An army depot is discovered holding planes. Once we have sufficient oil, we may use them in battle.

American soliders attacked a faction named The destroyers base and took it. The destroyers own the other half of Massachucets,2/3 of Connecticut and the rest of Vermont that is not in our control. We took the base with 7 casualties. The destroyers destroyed one of our cities and slaughtered 43 soliders. We getting ready to start rebuilding that city. Now we will have to take it back and get more resources. Factories are being built right now. There is a gun factory,ammunition,ship,gas mask,armor and a solar panel factory are being built. Solar panels and wind mills are being built in The New United States. A shipment of 3 solar panels and 4 windmills are sent to the mainlanders by ship. Their was also builders and blueprints on board the ship. The builders will help construct the windmills and solar panels after that they will help them learn how to work them if they need help. The blueprints are of how to make solar panels and windmills. President mason of The (new) United States is asking the destroyers to join lands and armies with them but the destroyers haven't said anything yet.

In all faction there is a new movement simply called the rebels, they want to bring back the united states, in their image. The openly hate everyone that isn't a member of there moment and bomb civilian targets to stir up the populace against there rulers. They will not negotiate, and tend to frame others for there actions.

The destroyers agreed to join The (new) United States. Tom mason sends a message to The rebel leader requesting he come to Boston to talk with him. A secret military base was found and their was mostly all the operational stuff was from ww2 their was 3 T30 (Heavy Tank T30),2 Sherman Jumbo (Medium Tank, M4A3E2),2 Boeing B-29 Superfortress, 5 Boeing / McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle, 7 military transportation vehicles and 2 humvees there was tons of vehicles there. The place was like a bunker. But a little fire got in the bunker and destroyed almost all of the vehicles. There was about 17 months of fuel and oil for the vehicles. There was tons of weapons and ammunition at the base to we got. There was aa guns and artility guns to. We took the aa guns and artility guns to Boston to protect it from attacks.

More conquests lead us to taking Pennsylvania from a large triblike nation named the Penns well our guns outmatch there hand to hand combat weapons. Battles go on for weeks as we lose about 200 men when we completely annihilate every tribe member so we could have living space and quell any possible rebels. With more diplomatic ways we take more of central New York state by peaceful annexation into our republic.

The old naval ship we found is in as good condition as we can get it without proper tools. it does not offer what we hoped but has lead us to discover a new form of transportation. steam power using some of our excess of water. from our coastline. The Hudson Army quickly takes advantage of this by taking old broken jeeps and replacing there engines with train like steam engines. slowly people will be given these for cars but now it is only military and they are mass producing old military vehicles with steam powered engines.

Old congressional hall, L.A, Monroe Republic
Miles and Bass on horse back gazed on this hallow symbol of peace and freedom, this war had showed them and every citizen of the Republic a cold hard truth, Living is the hard part, death is easy..... Monroe spoke up " Burn it, " Militia soldiers quickly set fire to the Building and any flag of the NCR they could find, along with any old world USA flags, to help prevent rebels from gaining any support. But there was another issue to resolve, June and Alexander, Every second they were alive helped fuel decent in some of the more loyalist areas of the Republic, the idea brought a tear to his eye, but he had to do it, He would have Miles or anyone else do his dirty work so he ordered a very public execution to happen that afternoon.

June, Alexander the remnants of the Congress that hadn't swore loyalty to Monroe were tied and on their knees on a platform. A light rain had begun to fall, Monroe Slowly walking up the creaking steps standing in front of the group of a dozen or so Traitors Firmly spoke.
"For Crimes against the republic, Treason, Murder, and conspiracy against the Monroe Republic, I sentience you to death." Monroe pull's out a pistol step's in front of the nearest prisoner

He was right and as his militia took care of the bodies Monroe found Himself in dire need to get very, very drunk, Miles went with him, knowing that he needed to take care of his brother.

As the milita told the new president, John about the fact that they were surrounded on all sides, by forces of unknown size, was unnerving, and the milita also told him about the trade caravan they had intercepted, and the fact that there had been some executions in L.A, the executions of all the previous members of their congress that didnt change sides, and the two leaders of the so called NCR, the fact that their had already been a revolution, was disturbing, then the president told them to tell the trade caravan to tell the new government about a proposed alliance.

Then they took some more land, namely the old solar power facility, and a almost working oil rig, the head of engineering said that it would take 4 months to get it started, then they could burn it to make steam powered travel, or guns, or tank-like vehicles, but it would take another 4 months to build the prototypes.

There was also a small amount of people coming to the new vegas strip, to gamble, or indulge in other pleasures

Monroe, still hungover from the night before looked silently at a map of the Monroe Republic, His nation forged threw blood and a dream of law and order at any means neccesary..... His day dreaming was cut of when Miles burst in.
"Bass, we may have a problem."
"What is it Miles?"
"We have revised lintel that a caravan of NCR traitors made there way into Las Vegas Territory"
" Vegas? It's way to hot and dry for anything to survive down there. Are you sure?"
"Positive."
"Alright Miles, We will take a regiment and head there first thing tomorrow, and we will kill those traitors with extreme force."
"What about any Native factions we find sir?"
"We will cross that bridge when we come to it" Both men knowing, like all of the factions of the west coast anyone they found would submit, or die....
