Another Post-Apocalypse Nation Simulator (IC)

Postby Silician » Tue Jul 09, 2013 5:08 pm

For those who have kept track, the year is 2093. After a nuclear war wiped out over 90% of the population, the United States is no longer. The past 50 years have been used to slowly rebuild what has been lost. The whole of the US is building new settlements, but we leave our attention to the east coast. The east coast was the highest targeted area during the war. Today plenty of small, independent, nations are growing out of the ruins of old cities. Will these new nations struggle to adapt and survive, or will the prosper?

Virginia Beach
Virginia Beach was founded on the east coast of what was once Virginia. It is named after the pre-war city that it was built upon. After a decade, the territory grew to include much of old southeast Virginia. It's population is mostly centered in the tri-city area of Newport News, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach, but there are some smaller farm towns to the east. Most of Virginia Beach's economy and agriculture is built on the massive fishing market. Not a single household in VB could eat supper without some seafood. The government has finally decided to send some scouts north of Chesapeake Bay to find possible survivors.

[Brief introduction:]

Confederation of Middle-Virginia:
The confederation was founded when the scattered counties and towns of middle Virginia were united by Commandant Richard Perry of VMI, over time the city of Lexington has grown and the population has become much more dense as people move into the town to escape raider groups who plague the southern half of the confederation. The City of Lexington has developed with 5 main sectors:
1.Military Sector:
This sector is based on the VMI campus and includes much of the city's war industry.
-VMI: VMI continues to train cadets, at a lessened extent, the large armory there has been used to arm the troops and militia, and several old cannons are in working order, ever since the apocalypse the well off in the confederation have fought to get their children enrolled in one of the 200 precious spots at the institute.
-War industry, constructs war materials, arranged in a ring around the VMI campus, surrounded by a security fence and sand bag fortifications.
2.CBD- This portion of town houses most of the old government buildings and businesses, comes out of the top of the military sector forming an 8
3.High-Class residential surrounds the previous two districts.
4.-Middle class residential-surrounds the high class residential to the east and south
5.-Farmland- extends north and west of town.

The southern half of the territory is largely ruled by various gangs and militia groups that regularly fight amongst themselves
NCA:
The NCA or New Confederate army is a milita loyal to the confederacy of middle Virginia, and fight along side confederate forces in southern Virginia[800/6000 militiamen]
CU:Confederacy United: supports a re-formation of the confederate states of America, neutral[1,200 men]
DG:Devil's Gathering: a collection of castouts, convicts, parolees, and other riff-raff that society neither wants or needs, they live by raiding farming towns throughout the area:Hostile[3,000 men]

Adam Jones, a small scale dairy farmer, was working on his field. His business supplied itself with grass and water, to keep his cows well-fed. The farm produced its own cheese, it made its own milk ready for consumption, and the beef of old cows was collected at the same farm. The Jones farm was quite successful, and it supplied half of the local rural town with dairy produce. The town was tiny, but it managed. Most of the people were artisans, producing on a very small scale. They made a little money, and used it all to buy food. Jones, who was collecting grass for his cows, stopped for a moment and took a look at the horizon, like he always did when resting. In the distance, he could see a trail of dust, a sign of coming mishap. He dropped his tools, and rushed to his farmhouse, where he rushed his children, his wife and his labourers into a barn. He himself walked towards the driveway.

And there they were. Seven or eight of them. Clad in leather, armed with all manner of guns and knives and clubs and all sorts of weapons. Bikers. The pit bulls of Boss Riley, the lord and master. They used their bikes to ride about the countryside, and collect taxes, in the form of the local currency. Salts, tools, gold, weapons, anything could be used to trade for food. Food was the most valuable resource. The farmers often had the most stuff, for they made food. They used their traded stuff for all sorts of things. They bought animals and seeds form other farmers, and paid their depts. With the lord and master. And now, the pit bulls were at the gates. They approached the farmer, guns as the ready. Jones tried not to look too afraid, but he couldn’t hide the fact that he was scared shitless for the firearms.

“Taxes” a man shouted. “now” as he aimed his uzi at the man’s chest. Jones took a step back. He thought about his possibilities. He could go back to his barn and grab his gun, shoot a few of them… Hell, he could jump at one, grab his gun, and start a shoot-out! He could start a revolution! A war against Boss Riley! That could be…

But, Jones forgot all about his plans for revolution when the uzi-carrier pulled back the spring, and locked a round into place. Jones jumped for a moment, but then, he immediately ran for his barn, where he picked up five rifles. He once traded those with a poor artisan for a dozen buckets of milk, a fair trade. Now, he had to give those rifles to these men, lest they would kill him and his family, and give the land to some other farmer. Also, a fair deal. The men strapped the bundle of rifles to their bikes, and raced off towards the next farm. The local farmer there was probably less lucky, for Jones could have sworn that he heard a gun rattle shortly afterwards.

In the capital, at the town hall, things were starting to heat up. Most of the collected taxes was coming in, and the administrators noticed that it was less than last month. And last month was less than the months before, and so on. When someone had dared to bring the issue to Boss Riley, Nothing breakable in the town hall was safe. Pottery, electronics, windows, Riley went on a rampage. After kicking the administrator for about five minutes, he calmed down. Riley was an intriguing fellow, and a lover of violence. Also, no self-restraint. So after smashing things up for about fifteen minutes, he finally calmed down, and called in Ralph Bono, the state economist. Bono was a professor of economics in some minor city state. They were quite advanced, and had a stable economy, form of government, and the people were well-fed. Until the raiders of the Dark Demon gang arrived, of course. The city was raised to the ground, its population enslaved to work the fields and rebuild Pittsburgh, and the leaders were executed. Everything of value was stripped and brought to Pittsburgh, as personal possession of Boss Riley. Ralph Bono was captured and led to the court of Riley, where he still serves as advisor.

“my liege, Boss Riley, the economy of your nation is faltering. We don’t have an official currency, and the whole system is based around direct trade. These items our people use to trade slowly disappear, because they break or are used. Ammunition, for example, is commonly used to trade for food, but it gets shot from time to time. In the meantime, food production is increasing, so we have less currency to distribute over our goods.” Boss Riley looked at him, as if he’d been hit by a bus. He understood some of the words said, but most was lost. He got down to business. “So, what do you propose we do?” Riley said, pretending to get the whole deal. “well” Bono proposed “We must make sure we devaluate the currency, lest our economy collapses even further. We could start a national bank, and begin printing real money. Or…” he thought about what the nation was best at, and complicated matters such as banks should not be handed to these dim-witted morons. “You could invade and raid another city. If we had more goods to trade with, it will automatically cause inflation. Basically, we take stuff so we can pay with it.” Riley looked at the man. Those were words and things he understood. “Very well” he said. “Send out scouts to the far corners of New England. We are about to devaluate the currency”

Chincoteague Island
-----------------------------
The capital, as usual, was bustling with activity. Ships from all around the US, and in some rare cases, Europe were docking at the port and unloading what goods they brought. Bandits have not been seen in the area for many years now, and pirates even longer. Sadly due to the recent completion of the wall, the economy began to slack again. The wall-building provided many jobs, not just the building but the factories aswell. They needed a place to trade with. The closest and most reasonable trade partner would be our brothers to the south.

The Wall
One of the only two land passages in that were not blown up or blocked off completely was being manned by Commander Oakwoods. It was usually lazy days around here. Everyone would take turns tolling the road, which the council was looking to get rid of due it slowing down trade. Bandits occasionally assaulted the wall, and a sure sign was a lack of horse-and-buggeys, cars, whatever. Luckily the wall has not been assaulted in 3 months now, longest its been since completion of the wall

Confederation:

Commandant Perry gazed out of the window at the hustle and bustle going on bellow, cadets in full dress uniform were standing guard at the traditional posts around campus, the plumes of their hat's being toyed with bye the wind, there were also several hundred craftsmen and laborers rushing about, taking supplies to and fro. Most importantly, several Saker cannons capable of firing 5 pound cannon balls were added to the 5 gun battery bringing the total number of cannons to 8, with these their various equipment and horses.

Turning back from the window, he paced across the room stopping at a large oak table, there lay a map of New England. He gazed over it and lamented his lack of troops, with 4000 militia and 500 of his finest cadets deployed on the southern barricade[located about a quarter of the way up from the bottom of my territory] to keep the various rebel groups from sacking farms and disrupting the vital supply of wheat he could spare no men to scout the vast unknown to the north. Seeing a potential danger, he began making plans to build an improvised wall on the northern border out of sheet metal and sandbags. There, he stationed 2000 militia with a corps of 10 cadets to serve as commanders of 10 200 man groups.

Fort Trumbull, New London, CT...

To the north, the outline of the Groton Naval Base (which also happened to hold most of New England's submarine power,) glistened in the sunlight, behind a few bridges.

Pvt James Smith just finished his training, and was loading up into a brand-new Ethanol powered APC full of fellow 'cruits on his way to his first mission, to secure the city of Newport in southern Rhode Island. Although he was technically a member of the Coast Guard, securing the naval base within the city would mean the Coast Guard and Government would then be able to establish a legitimate navy. This was good news for Pvt Smith, as he was tired of having to train in retrofitted ferries and cargo ships, only rarely being able to set foot on a troop transport or ancient destroyer.

He glanced down at his newly issued AR-15 Assault Rifle, fresh from the refurbishing factories, and let out a breath. It had been 50 years since the end of the war, according to his grandparents and parents. According to them, even though Hartford had been amongst the losses, the provisional governments in New Haven and Stamford were quick to reestablish order and begin reconstruction. Running almost entirely off of hydroelectric and ethanol, the state soared to new heights, the often overlooked, progressive populace making use of the varied and plentiful resources the state had to offer. Gangs decintigrated and began to participate in society, turning in weapons to the military and police in search of new oppertunities.

With a pat on the back, the 4 Newly-Made (technically makeshift...) Connecticutian APCs sent off to secure Newport, RI, from whatever power may hold it...

Stamford...

Stamford had always been known for its economic power. Money had always been a surplus in the city, and now it was even truer than ever. Post-nuclear war, the insurance industry BOOMED. (No pun intended.) Always were new people calling in, trying to get hands on the new Nuclear policy that was just made available to the public...

Martinsburg

President Jonathon Fellows sat in the lonely room in what was still left of the old Martinsburg Court House. It was being repaired, one bit at a time. Fellows had told everyone to spend more time on the rest of the city and state,to save the Court House for last.

Phone lines were finally back up, so communication among the three counties were better. The day was nearing its end,so Jonathon had to phone over to two people to give the list of orders for the following day.

First up was the Commander of the Berkeley Militia(COTBM). After about 4 minutes of endless ringing, he phoned in:

"Yes sir?"
"Are your scouts trained and ready?"
"As much as they'll be for now."
"I need scouts to do reconnaissance in the far eastern portion of Hampshire County.
"Roger that."

Next up was the Manager of Resources, located in Spring Mills. The usual 4-5 minutes kicked in,and he picked up:
"Hello,Mr.President."
"Hello. How is the food supply currently?"
"As good as we can manage. Pretty decent as of late."
"Good, good. How is the situation in Morgan County?"
"Not good,but not terrible."
"Where is it worst?"
"Great Cacapon."
"Are all of the other townships and cities supplied?"
"Yes,most of the shipments arrived yesterday."
"Send a regular supply, plus a few rations over to Great Cacapon."
"Yes sir,right away."

Jonathon put the phone down, satisfied with the service. Nightfall would be setting in shortly, so he exited the Court House to put an end to the daily affairs. There were workers around, trying to piece together a collapsed pillar. He smiled, glad to see his people hard at work. He then yelled on the top of his lungs,"It's almost night time! Get home to your families! Work day is over!"

This situation wasn't perfect, but it was enough to keep a man sane.

The Protectorate of Boston was founded after a few groups of scavengers wanted a place to settle down and live. The early years were harsh with the winters and raider attacks. One day a young militia captain by the name of Edwin Cromwell lead the town militia and dealt with the raiders with swift and brutal force. They would either be absorbed into the Protectorate peacefully or be slaughtered just like the other raiders. After a couple years of expansion the borders of the Protectorate stretched from Boston to Northampton and along the coast, and a couple islands. Cromwell came home to Boston and set up a government with him at the helm with the guidance of his fellow militiaman from years before. The government has set out to restore Boston and Massachusetts back to its prewar glory. The army engineers have set out to rebuild and repair some of the roads to improve the infrastructure. The doors of a newly renovated Harvard are open to the brightest students of the Protectorate. Cromwell and his Council decided to send an exploration party by boat south along the coast to see if there are any other people living there, or establish relations with other groups. The party decided to hop from city to city so first stop was Newport Rhode Island.

Battle of High-Bridge:

Light began to break through the tree lines, bringing another day upon the Garrison of the high bridge, 500 militia men led by a contingent of 5 cadets who's chief mission was to defend the principal remaining crossing of the Appomattox river. Men slowly began to awake from their slumber, crawling out of makeshift tents and heading of to shave or answer the call of nature. Cadet Colonel Ryan McCollens, commander of the Garrison had awoken well before the rest of the men and now stood in full dress uniform on a nearby ridge sipping a Hot cup of tea, he was enjoying the refreshing feeling when a trumpet blast resounded through the wooded areas. Men ran through the woods, crashing through branches , rushing to the defenses. Shots echoed throughout the woods. Colonel McCollens calmly walked back down to the command tent, sending a messenger to Lexington telling them of a large attack presumably by the Devil's Gathering, for the sentries to be so frantic the attacking force must be at least 600 men strong. He and his staff of 5 cadets donned their caps and headed out to asses the damage.

Militia captain Gorge Baker had been in command of the sentry when they had burst out of the woods, nearly 800 of the devil's gathering, yelling screaming and shooting into the air. They were armed with various small arms, some with civilian AR-15s, revolvers, and pistols. Initially they made great progress across the clearing, however once they reached the bridge they began to drop like flies. Men were falling off the side of the bridge, and the bodies of those who had been shot were halting the advance. The trees behind the sentries erupted in to chaos and more and more militia poured into the clearing, about 63 of them had fallen compared to the devil's gathering where as the devil's gathering has lost about 124. However they had made it most of the way across the bridge, and many were drawing knives getting ready to engage in hand to hand combat. Soon the forces clashed, militia using their rifles to bludgeon and gang members cutting and stabbing away. Soon, dead and injured men littered the landing of the bridge, and gallons of blood ran into the Appomattox. At the end of the fight, there were 50 of the gang left at the end of the bridge, and about 100 militia left in the wood line. The Gang members surrendered and were escorted back to the camp.

The Commune
Life in the Commune was highly regimented with people getting out of bed at the crack of dawn, and went to sleep at sundown. In harvest times, the work time was extended one hour before and after sunup and sundown, respectively. Those in the military lived on base their whole lives, with their families. They took turns rotating guard shifts, one at day, one at night. Scavengers were the group with the most freedom, they had no set bed and wake up times, no shifts, and little to no regulation on what the had to do. They merely had to report with scavenged materials to the nearest Office of Scavenged Materials on Sunday, which was they day all in the Commune were not required to work. Scavengers also were payed not by the hour, but by what they could scavenge, so a good scavenger could easily move up in the income brackets, and could also get into Bureaucratic position, where he would had near-permanent job security awaited. Many a scavenger preferred to stay scavenging until they either died of radiation poisoning, died of a building collapse, or reached the retirement age of 60. Many of the scavengers who had gone missing in the Rotten Apple had become folk-heroes, and an urban legend was spreading, that scavengers never truly died, they simply went missing and returned when ever they wanted.

Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded ultra-progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a journalist. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a generally optimistic attitude towards humanity in general.
Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a liberal.
To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a considerate idealistic egalitarian with many strong convictions.

The New Virginia Republic
It has been decided by the council that diplomats/letters are to be sent out to all known countries. Most of them are known either through travelers, or just that they are so close, it would be impossible to miss.
Diplomats are being sent to the following countries: (All not listed are not known by the government)

Virginia Beach, diplomat
The Free City of College Park, diplomat
Confederation of New Virginia, diplomat
Berkeley, diplomat
Dark Demon Gang, none
The Holy Imperium, letter
To: The Holy Imperium
From: The New Republic of Virginia
We, the New Republic of Virginia, would like to propose a trade agreement between our two nations. We would also like to suggest the "Free Peoples alliance," where all countries in the Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginian area would all join in one alliance to protect each other from what horrors the rest of the country may have. All countries in the alliance would have trade amongst themselves, though they can choose whether or not they would like to participate. BUT, participating with one country would require trade with all members. With the letters sent out, and the diplomats en route, the country was looking like it had a more brighter future. Well, as long as the plan went and worked well.

The Northern Border

The Republics army was being staged at the border, with half of it here so far. (Of all who will attack) Some small Jeeps, tranport vehicles, and some helicopters were staged, with more to come. The tanks, which were used for front-line combat, have not arrived yet. The attack into southern Delaware will start within the week

Outside Newport, RI
After crossing the border into Rhode Island, the four APCs travelled along the ocean until they reached the two bridges leading into the city. While the bridges remained intact, they couldn't sustain any sort of explosion, or else they would cross into the ocean. Care would have to be taken. Slowly, the lot started the crossing of the ancient bridges, moving into what remained of what could be Connecticut's new navy...

Stamford, CT
Governor Williams sat in his office, drafting an executive order that would immediately call for the expansion of the state's diplomatic programs, as well as the military. Taking in a deep breath, he examined the ever-so-rare computer screen in front of him. Cracking his knuckles, he continues, being ever so careful in his wording. Every last bit of the order would need to be flawless, and even though the state congress had begun authorizing letters to its neighbors, exploration and expansion had to be done. Only then would the state's ultimate goal of returning to the old nation return.

Suddenly, the phone rings.

"Hello...? Yes, this is he... Correct... Send the letters... Manhattan and Boston must immediately be readmitted into the Union... We're the Constitution State, if we even need a new one, we can draft one! Of course... I'm in the middle of it now... Congress shouldn't have a problem with it... Alright... I should be done by tomorrow morning... Yes... Okay, you get those letters on the move... Oh, mind drafting another one to Jersey...? Excellent, thank you... G'bye."

Soon, the United States would be born again, and the nation's former glory would begin to reemerge.

Dear leaders of what remains of our great Union,

Today, the State of Connecticut would like to offer you all a chance. This chance is brave, bold and challenging, but should it succeed, we will all emerge out of what remains of the ashes of the war and into a bright new future.

For hundreds of years, our people lived together in harmony, frequently taking advantage of elections, participating in a lush political system, and enjoying levels of personal and political freedom that has never been seen before. We drove around in spectacular cars, our cities flourished like there were no tomorrow, and the sun shone bright over our great country. However, it was not long before others grew jealous of our great nation, and wanted nothing more than death and destruction for all of our harmony. Our people fought valiantly, but ultimately the war ended with all of our major cities being turned to dust and soot. It seemed for many years we would never be able to regain the power we once had.

However, us in Connecticut were amongst the lucky. We managed to preserve what remained of our old society, and now growth has begun again. We offer you the chance to join us. We do not ask for the surrender of your liberties, or your land or pepole, but rather a gathering of our leaders. Using the constitution of our old Union, we can come together and rebuild what still needs to be rebuilt, refine what needs to be refined, and pave the way to a bright future for America.

The plan is simple, we meet in a city elected by us, where a congress, court and president shall reside, each branch fully elected by the populace. Furthermore, aside from your State's Coast and National Guard, we will begin building up a joint military force, to regain any land that has not restored order, and defend from any further, external threats. New England shall rise again!

Hoping you are all well,
Governor Williams
Governor of Connecticut

The Holy Temple of the Imperium,
Charleston, West Virginia

One of the largest structures ever built by the Imperium, The Holy Temple was part palace, part cathedral. It was a huge stone structure with massive pillars modeled after ancient Roman buildings. The center of the Temple was adorned with a huge dome, the Imperial flag flapping atop it in the breeze. Towering stained glass windows and oil paintings of various points in history adorned the walls of the structure, depicting important events from the birth of Christ all the way up to the revelation of the Holy Princess. Priests, Confessors and all other manner of religious figures as well as the Honor Guard went to and fro throughout the Temple, conversing with each other or fulfilling their assigned duties for the day. Meanwhile, high at the top story of the Temple, the Princess herself sat in her chambers.

Her main room was very large, half of two walls covered by towering bookcases stacked with literature. A huge stone fireplace sat in the middle of the room, a small fire crackling within and warming the two soft chairs that faced it. The Princess, Allison was her name, stood by the fireplace, running her dainty fingers over the mantle.

Image

She stared off into space for a long moment, deep in thought as she felt her way across the smooth stone. Her thoughts were on all the loyal soldiers that had died for her and her Empire today. Just under a hundred of them as well as nearly two hundred of the enemy Morobi Tribe dead. Her Earthly father (Emperor Seth) had despised the tribe for some time and she had never been that fond of them either, but they were still her brothers, still the children of God just like everyone else and she mourned them just the same. As she thought long and hard about the conflict earlier that day, she felt a single tear roll down her pale cheek and splash onto her bare shoulder. She loved her followers, her soldiers especially, and though she could've avoided the grief had she wanted, she deliberately thought about all of them after every battle, driving her to tears every time. The tears and the sorrow were important steps to keeping her mind at ease and to keeping her calm when she made a decision. Knowing the consequences of war helped prevent it better than anything and letting out her emotions every now and then made it easier for her to control herself the rest of the time. She stood perfectly still for a few more minutes, staring a hole in the wall and letting the tears fall freely until eventually, she was able to accept the death, and move on once again. She dabbed at her oceanic-blue eyes with a handkerchief and walked out to her room's balcony.
It was a bright and sunny day in the Imperium's capitol. Children were playing in their schoolyards, soldiers laughed and relaxed with their brothers, Holy Men (Priests, Confessors, Preachers etc.) sat together in loose circles and quietly discussed their religion, eating from small picnic baskets and inviting random passersby to join them. In the Imperium there was no sickness, no starvation, no violence. People tolerated and respected each other regardless of their age, race, gender, religion or sexuality. Citizens helped one another in whatever ways they could, the entire Empire a massive family. People tended to behave much better when the Daughter of God was watching them every day.

Allison, the Holy Princess, smiled softly at the sprawling city below her and imagined a world united in just the same way. One world, one people and one Empire under one God.

Commandant Perry looked out over the assembled troops , a slight breeze blew through the town. He looked up with a smile and sighed, taking a deep breath he began to address the assembled men. " Men, fellow citizens of the Confederate. I tell you on this day, we have won a great victory over the our enemies and they are now crushed forever.*Cheering erupts from the civilians and militia, the commandant raises his hand for order* Yes, that is correct we will never have to worry about attack from the south again, never have to worry that our families may starve due to their raids. With this great victory comes great opportunities. The quality of our troops are unmatched by any others we know. Soon the time will come for us to expand, make alliances, and form a grand empire to last 1000 years. Already the swine of the defeated gangs are being sent to quarry stone with witch to build this empire. However, we have neither the skill or capacity to forge ourselves into a truly unbreakable entity. But soon this will change, scouts are being sent out to the various areas of what used to be the States. If we find organized groups we will attempt diplomacy, if they refuse, well... let's just hope that doesn't happen.

Unknown Section of Interstate 95: Today Scouts have found a traveler from Virginia Beach. He stated "I'm John Dorchest a diplomat for the city and i want to see collage park" we was taken back to the scout base and is planed to meet with the collage president Doctor Benjamin Harold. This might start an alliance between our Two Cites.

National Harbor: Last Night a good-sized ship waving an unknown flag was sighted in the harbor. After several attempts to communicate failed as they spoke an unknown tongue. A white sailor came off the gangplank. He in surprising twist spoke in English "I'm Valter Abramsen engineer for the this vessel were from the Kingdom of Norway and were on a mission of exportation for King Harald the VII"
He was taken to collage park to investigate if his Journey has either a real trip to the America or a Hoax pulled off but a person with too much time on his hands.

Collage Park: Last Night a local police station was raided by the Delta-Zeta Fraternity and Sorority. This is likely a response to the message sent by the Nu-Chi-Rho Fraternity,The Alliance of Eastern Fraternity's and Sororities and the "Forgotten Ones. However this is been treated as it's own event as It's not allied with any of the above groups. The Raid's purpose is unknown.

Eventually, one of the Confederation's scouts reached the Imperium's southernmost border and was picked up by patrolling soldiers of the Imperial Guard. Though they were understandably skeptical of his origins at first, news of his arrival was passed up the chain of command and in just over a day he had been brought to the Imperial Capitol to meet with a representative of the Emperor. Intrigued by their southern neighbors, the Emperor sent word back to the Confederation (via its own courier/scout) requesting that his representative meet with a representative of their own leader. After all, in such turbulent days, national leaders couldn't afford to risk meeting strangers face-to-face.

As the scout (now well fed and provided with a small amount of supplies to ensure his healthy return) was sent back to the Confederation, the Emperor waited with interest to see how things would turn out...

Collage Park: Last Night there were several groups of members of Various Fraternities and Sororities roamed the City last night. Causing Havoc,Panic and Destruction in there path. This is clearly the response of the message sent from the Nu-Chi-Rho Fraternity,The Alliance of Eastern Fraternity's and Sororities and the "Forgotten Ones. The Riots were cleared by local police after 2 Hours. The Riots caused 79 Arrests,16 Injuries and Damage to 22 Buildings,Around 60 Cars,Trucks and Buses along with a Late-Night Metro Train. After the Riots the City Broad of Relations with Greek Social Organizations have reclassified the Nu-Chi-Rho Fraternity from "Non-Greek Fraternity" to "Terrorist Organization" It's likely collage police will raid the Cites newest Terrorist Headquarters Tonight with the first ever "SWAT" raid in Collage History.Police say there now armed and dangerous and stay away from the area if possible.

Commandant Perry looked over the man slowly, some unknown scout that would never have had the privilege of entering the Institute was now sitting across from him drinking away at the last of the tea. He motioned for the man to go on with his story.

" ...well, I was taken to their capitol , it was a magnificent place, the architecture seemed Roman."

"and?"

"they want you to send a representative to meet with a representative of theirs."

"a representative?, very well, a representative will be sent."

Colonel McCollens was informed that he had been chosen to represent the confederate to their northern neighbors, and was to set out with a contingent of 20 cadets to meet with their representative.

Stamford...
Governor Williams examined the report filed after the Battle of Newport.

Battle of Newport, Day 1, July 2093

4 US APCs moved into the city, to be later accompanied by 2 Eurocoptors and and a Chinook. As the APCs crossed over the bridge into the city, gunshots opened up from contacts within the city armed with Semi-Automatic AKM assault rifles. It is believed that these contacts were affiliated with the Mob. However, as the last APC was leaving the bridge, it crumbled, taking the APC and the 11 Troops inside with it. The APCs moved up north, where they were to secure the Naval Installation, where a Destroyer and Aircraft Carrier were rumored to be. Once outside the installation, the gunshots stopped. However, an explosion ripped through the city, taking one of the APCs with it. This fire is believed to have come from the Destroyer, which was held by hostile contacts. This Destroyer was in the water within Coddington cove. Soon enough, the APC radioed back to base, where 2 Cougars and 1 Chinook loaded up and moved towards the city. Immediately, the two remaining APCs moved into the naval installation, and quickly abandoned their vehicles, taking cover in the Aircraft Carrier. Soon enough, the Cougars arrived and opened fire on the Destroyer, disabling the weapons. The Chinook was close behind, where it landed on the Carrier, its troops dismounting and getting ready for a fight. The Eurocoptors released 50 troops onto the Destroyer, the team dispatching any remaining contacts within. It is believed then that the outgunned hostile Mobsters retreated further into the city, to regroup and rearm. Currently, the force is within the Naval installation, awaiting reinforcement. It is believed that civilians are within the city, being held hostage by the mobsters.

Troops Deployed:
200 Soldiers
8 Pilots

Casualties:
27 Dead
35 Wounded

Believed Hostiles:
400 Estimated

Confirmed Hostiles
103 Dead
17 Captured

Mission Status:
Successful

Suddenly, the phone rings.

"Hello...? Yes... Indeed... Is the invasion force ready...? Alright, good... Yeah, I want him alive... Its not an issue if he's killed, but it would make a good... Yeah... Yeah, like I was saying it would make a good display if he were tried by Rhode Island State law, or even Federal... Yeah... Yeah, well that's just it, the Yale Library might still have some books on that... Yes... Alright... I want as many civilians alive as possible, understand...? Okay... You have a thumbs up from me... G'bye."

After driving across a great many leagues of land, a strange group of people arrived in Charleston. They looked like the strangest things these people had seen in a while. Their rugged beards, curly and wild. Their motorcycles, decked out with trinkets and jewellery. Their shirts were torn and black, with skulls and demons depicted on them, and from their backs hung all kinds of weapons. While one was carrying a fire axe, some other man carried a short shotgun. They drove through the streets, being looked at with suspicion and almost hate. They, in their turn, were confused at the splendour of the city. Stone buildings, paved roads, security guards, large banners, temples and weapons. The men were not used to this technology in their homeland. They were used to farms, and some half-rebuild buildings. The only splendour they knew existed in the Town Hall, were Boss Riley lived, and even that place was dirty and broken. It didn’t have many windows left. In this city, everyone seemed to live better than their boss. They felt scared, but also angry at these people. They felt envy. But most of all, they knew this place was good for their pickings. They searched for things of value to loot and scavenge, and what place better to scavenge for wealth than wealth itself?

They quickly assessed what the governmental building was. After all, that had to be the biggest building in the city. If their city was so great, imagine the greatness of their Boss! So, they drove their motorbikes to the biggest building they could find, and from their saddles, they hailed the guards. “We want to speak to your Boss!” one yelled, with a fat, boorish voice. The other just looked on, with their hands at their weapons, ready to strike when necessary.

Imperial-Confederate Border

From atop his mount, a huge white mare, Confessor Jason Dorner surveyed the grassy fields and thatches of trees that covered the southern border with narrowed eyes. Any minute now their neighbors would make themselves known and then a brief discussion would determine the future of hundreds of thousands of people.
"Confessor, our guests are due to arrive in five minutes."
his squire, Brother Mark, noted with a glance at his watch. While Mark wore a simple black shoulder-cape (a symbol of wealth within the Imperium) Jason wore the traditional black and red cloak of a Confessor, the Holy Princess's symbol emblazoned on the chest of his body armor. Their protectors, two squads of Imperial Guardsmen, stood in columns to either side of the horses and wore their typical sets of battle gear. Olive green fatigues with steel or Kevlar helmets, plate carriers and either a chest rig, tactical vest or ALICE webbing to hold ammunition. These men were veterans, so they had better equipment than average (M16A2s, ACH Helmets, MOLLE vests etc.)

Despite the relative seriousness of their situation, the men remained perfectly still with emotionless faces, standing perfectly at attention with their service rifles at port arms. When the emissary from the Confederation eventually made himself known, Confessor Dorner would raise his right hand in greeting.

Charleston, West Virginia
The Holy Imperium

Every member of the Imperial Guard wanted one thing career-wise. A position with the Temple Guard. These men were the best and most experienced soldiers of the Imperium. Unlike their frontline infantry counterparts, they wore solid white uniforms and used only top-of-the-line equipment. The average Temple Guard carried an M4A1 carbine and wore a white ACH helmet, plate carrier and chest rig/tactical vest. Their shoulders, rather than Unit patches, were adorned with the insignia of the Holy Princess, marking them as among her immediate protectors and followers.

It took barely seconds for the bikers to be approached by the Guardsmen, close to thirty of them raising their carbines in near unison and centering the cluster of trespassers in their sights. Several Guardsmen prepared hand grenades while the civilians in the streets immediately flocked indoors, either to hide or retrieve their rifles and Militia Uniforms. One especially large man slowly stomped down the stone steps of the Temple to the street below, his uniform identical to the others save for a flowing black and red cloak and black body armor. The Confessor stopped a good distance away from the group, his rifle held close but angled downwards. The air was deathly still as he spoke,

"It is rather clear to me, that you are not citizens of the Holy Imperium."
he stated simply. A smaller man, unarmed and wearing a white robe, joined him.
"Confessor Jackson, these men are our guests. Clearly they haven't heard the word of the Holy Princess and they must have travelled some time to get here. We should invite them in and get introduced to each other."
the Priest said almost reproachfully.
"I suppose you're right Father Paul, but foreigners may not bring weapons inside the Temple."
He raised his voice slightly, more obviously addressing the bikers now.
"Gentlemen, if you'll lay down your weapons until you depart, it'd be my pleasure to invite you in for a meal and some quick introductions."
He explained. The Temple Guardsmen behind him remained stoic and kept their rifles leveled at the group, limiting their options somewhat.
