Spears and polearms were historically far more common than swords due to the cheapness and easiness in making them as well as their superior versatility in combat. Axes totally are hipster, though. *nods*

No, but I've put my hands on my woman at the movies. A word of advice: that arm around the shoulder thing can backfire if you don't do it right, since your arm gets pinned against the back of the seat and falls asleep.

-Ahem- So, three weeks after that one time they went to an underground base of the cultists, the party met Kroisoto's adoptive brother Peorshine in the forest, and they went to Auregen. That post there describes where they arrived. From there, Tristan and Lisoette went off on their own, Estrada and Aldraniri went to an inn called the Bushy Bear (where they met two new characters) and the rest of the party stayed behind at the courtyard. The current state of affairs is more or less described in this post.

It's a bit of reading despite the pseudo-summary but it should help you.
