Alright, we're here. I see no one, but of course, this isn't guaranteed. Any number of people could be having the same idea as us. So I think for a moment, and take a swig from my water bottle. I haven't felt hungry all day, thanks to the adrenaline, but now as the terror and excitement of the first day wears off, I find my body returning to normal. "Ok, so, I think we should circle around the Corn, just to check out the surroundings, as I doubt we're the only ones to have thought up something like these. Maybe we should eat first, though, to gain energy. Anyone else hungry?" Then, I notice a... something walking up the stairs. Another tribute. "Ok, its confirmed, there's a tribute up there. Change of plans. We make sure we've got our fill, and then try to trap and neutralize the tribute. One of us will go forward and attack him, and while he's distracted, the other two will attack him at the same time, with the third keeping a watch out for any inbound tributes. Sound good?"

In the moonlight, I'm glad for our uniforms. While gaudy and horrifically obvious in the day, at night, their color scheme near-perfectly matches the color of the jungle and sky at night. Perfect uniforms for nighttime operations. How effective they really are will be tested in a few minutes.

Following the two, Marcie remains quiet while they discuss the plans for the group. She will be on board with whatever the two say, even if it is something like jumping into a precipice or diving head-first into a pool of lava. While they were walking, the times when she lost her thought with something else were not few, as were the times where she subsequently lost her footing and fell into a pit of mud. The guys were a little distance in front, they wouldn't notice. During the horrifyingly long walk, Marcie, even if she was thinking of a long-lost home, always feared that another tribute would silently encroach on her and try a backstab.

Fortunately, they had finally reached the base of the monumental pyramid that was the cornucopia. They were unscathed. However, Marcie had an impending feeling of danger- she approached Kyra and Stephen and said "Yeah, we should probably check the area." she had one of those feelings where you think someone is watching you without your knowing it. She now stayed close to Stephen. Then- somehow, Stephen saw a tribute walking up the stairs. When she heard his plan on neutralizing the tribute, she nodded.

"Meh." I mutter, tensing my shoulders as Stephen talks about waiting to trap the other tribute.
"Feel free to trap him, I'm going in." I state in a louder voice, dropping my pack and the jacket I was supplied with, shedding any unnecessary weight. I want to slam this idiot fast and slam him hard, preferably before he notices me coming. Stephen won't approve, but he doesn't really have to.

Darn it! Kyra does have a deathwish, and there's nothing that I can do. I cut a few branches as a sort of marker for her supplies, and I motion for Marcie to follow me. "Ok, Kyra's off to distract him/her, we need to circle around. Lets go." I ensure my backpack is secure and I take off with my weapons in hand.

The buildings and the jungle around the central temple (cornucopia) seem pretty menacing to Marcie. And a lone tribute, walking up the stairs? It seemed too suspicious, too uncommon. Could it be a trap? Nevertheless, she would always feel more secure with Stephen than if she was left in the place where they were standing at the previous moment. "Okay." she answers as she takes the knife out of her backpack and holds the blade rather than the handle. She's been tripping a lot lately, don't want to trip and impale herself with the knife, now. She then follows Stephen as silently as she can.

Crouching low I jog at an even pace in the moonlight, flitting across the open field and towards my prey. Five meters. Forty. Thirty. Then I sprint up the steps as fast as I can, heartbeat crashing within my own ears. Taking a jumping step I leap into the air, club held high above my head before bringing the branch down in a crashing arc, hopefully either braining my opponent or at the very least disabling an arm.

I creep around the base of the temple, waiting for the sounds of combat to erupt. As we sneak around, though, I notice something odd. "Do you see that structure?" I whisper to Marcie. I move forward and look at it. "Its a well. This is good - we can fill our bottles from here, without having to resort to any contaminated streams."

Beyond the well, off to the right a small group was emerging, watching for anyone that dared to head back to the cornucopia.

Tributes, from District 1 Female & D 4's Male and Female had created an alliance earlier on but were already one member down since the D2s had all but vanished, one of which was dead. "We're like a Holy Alliance, the big powers of this game here to make it to the final four, well three now," said Eva Lionheart who had easily described them back during the training sessions.

Now they creeped not far beyond the giant well, they planned on securing that and using it all throughout the games after all with fresh water they could stay alive for far longer than through running in the woods here and there. The group all had various weapons but Eva had created a prized harpoon that she had practiced with multiple times back in her district, but this time she had attached a machete to a series of lines of wire used from a tool box. It was a dangerous weapon nonetheless. As Eva led the group they tried to remain stealthy but it was far harder with the open spaces, but nearby buildings helped here and there.

Capital TV
"The suspense. You know this day has been longer than the average first day and most likely all due to the gamemakers discretion. Right now we can see two groups on the verge of collision all near some very key parts of this years' arena. I for one can not wait." said Caesar Flickermen at the desk as the screens transferred back to the arena entirely

District 9's Ally Kennedy was rushing through the forest, with no supplies or weapons just yet. If anything running around the forests ends wasn't going to help anytime soon but she had one plan. Head to a temple directly across from the Cornucopia that was in plain view from the start, in there she could hopefully find something. In the heading through trees she saw a small fire which was a perfect opportunity. If she could take out some unsuspecting tribute while they were sleeping she could at least have something once headed into the other temple that was in sight. Upon reaching a couple feet from the fire she checked the trees and then slowed movement. She stepped towards the fire and was about to stamp it out in case she needed to stay nearby.

Seeing the prey Darian smiled. He took out a small rock and put it in his sling. He launched, knocking her to the ground. He took out his blade and approached her. "No weapons? Well, this will be easy. You really need to watch yourself around here." He put out his hand not holding the sword in a gesture of false friendship. If she did not take the bait, she was not a threat in any way. If she did, he might think of letting her tag along for a day or two, in front of him.

Shocked by the sudden appearance of the tribute, Ally fell back before being knocked down completely. With a smirk even though she was nervous she tried to hold up a facade, "Well if you plan on killing someone better use something bigger than a childrens toy" she smiled as she began to get up. All alone in the Games was never a good idea so maybe getting this one to like her or at least not kill her would be beneficial to her. She sat up and spoke again, "I'm trying... maybe you can help me out. Or I mean we can help each other." Ally said to him

He almost smirked. Perfect, a human shield. "Sure, you can tag along, but stay in front. I do not exactly trust you." He cut a branch from a nearby tree. "We are heading south, into the plains." He gave her the branch. "Start moving girl."

"A branch? I can fend off exactly jack shit with something like this," she said tossing the branch down. "I'm headed to one of those big temple buildings, chances are there is something inside that could be useful and the name is Ally not girl." she didn't like the idea of him ordering her around because all he had was a slingshot, hardly an impenetrable line of defense against a career or even a bird should he miss but she marched on anyway. If they were going to work together long enough for her to get a weapon that would be fine. Eventually she would have to kill him and his current attitude didn't make it hard to think about.

"Save that talk for when you're struggling from being killed by the careers will ya?" she said continuing to walk forward as they headed to the south of the Cornucopia towards another temple (Zoquiapan on the map). Having to work with this guy, whatever his name was, sounded more like a punishment. The reward of getting to live a bit longer worked out just fine anyhow. His talks about blood and such didn't intimidate her, after all she was in a game that preyed on fear for the most part. Ally could see the temple not far from her direct line of sight, she tried not to breathe too heavily in the case of other nearby tributes lurking around.

"Like I know what is in there, but we have to figure how exactly to get in." she looked around and the only sign of coherent words was the name of the temple engraved on one of its' walls. "Zoquiapan. What is that a god they believed in or something?" looking further around there were to pillar like beams around the side and she knew immediately that it had to have been an entrance of some kind. "Over there" she motioned to the side where it looked like an entrance and walked over. Ally wasn't sure what to do so she simply pressed on the wall in the hopes to find a weak spot but didn't even need to, the wall had been covered in stuff resembling moss. Which meant someone could have already been here but either way she clawed it out of the way and walked on, Darian not far behind her. "Well, theres another door, looks like a hawk symbol is on it. You should use that sword you have to bust it through. It can't be too strong." she said moving to the side while looking behind them

She rolled her eyes. Who did this guy think he was? We're all on a level playing field unless you're a career "Use the branch.." she gripped the branch he had given her and swung at him suddenly and violently. She was already sick of whatever crap he kept giving her trying to make her his little pet after knowing one another for mere minutes. It's not like he had a weapon worth too much and swinging out of nowhere was her element of surprise.

He ducked under the attack. "You honestly think you can survive without me? You didn't have a weapon, walked into a trap, and have no supplies. This is how you thank someone who spared your life?" He backed off and brought up the sword. "I cut that branch from a tree, I can cut in in half easy. Now, are you going to keep up tis irrational behavior or break the door."

Now, are you going to keep up this irrational behavior or break the door."

"How about you go ahead and break the door since you want to talk about how easy it was to use that sword there. You don't run the show all of a sudden. If anything your attitude is probably going to get you killed before I end up trying to off you." Ally said to him still gripping the branch. She was still ready to hit him over the head with it should the moment come that she needed to. Or better yet once they entered the temple and saw things far better that what she was willing to share.

"Because I do not trust you. To many times have I seen Tributes die by others traps." He lit a match and threw it at the door. "Anyway, that will work much better." He watched it burn slowly. "Of course, if you want in, I am not stopping you." He backed farther south, not turning his back until he was a good amount away. He began to jog, just as the plains caught fire, surrounding the other tribute. "HAVE FUN IN THE TEMPLE!!!" he yelled.
I've read your Sig! I've read your soul

Before you complain, remember, Kangaroos can't hop backwards. Really makes your problems seem small don't it.

"Are you sure that it's not contaminated as well? You know better than I how cruel and evil the gamemakers can be."

"Entirely possible of course. Hopefully in the Corn., we can find some water purification tablets. Alright, lets scour the area and then go up." I secure my weapons and move around more towards the brush and the well. I stop for a moment though. "Marcie, are you ready for any combat? Do you think you can handle yourself effectively in combat against a regular tribute?"

Eva sent her fellow D4 tribute put to make a run, they needed water and to see if anyone was nearby. "Get out there, get the water and make sure to linger long enough to be seen but not too long" she ordered him as she waved the makeshift harpoon around.

He nodded in agreement and took an empty backpack they had grabbed from earlier that day. The D4 male ran across the open courtyard across from the Cornucopia where the giant well was located. He stumbled with the pack and took out a small canteen that he barely filled with water while he left the bag, purposely but made it look like an accident. With the canteen in hand and the bag still down he ran back as if headed to the Cornucopia but made a semi circle back to where the other Careers were located. "D.. Done" he said breathing heavily.

Eva patted him on the back and took the canteen from him as they waited.
