Let me clarify.
I like creativity and I would normally go "Fuck yes, go custom races". Because I am a firm adherent of appealing to the masses while retaining a smart group of members who can exercise their creativity and make their own custom races and stuff.
But when you get right down to it, people will play humans or creatures very close to humans. In fact, it is a very rare person who will play a different race for anything other than "Oh, yeah, I have this special power". They will not get into the cultural things, or linguistics or racism or anything that would come from a different race.
It really just becomes a human with a few differences.
Therefore, I view it as a redundant and unneeded thing.

I have since decided to ignore the votes of 12 of the categories and go with "Low Fantasy".
Mainly because I don't want to change the app form.
Remember, your target audience is a bunch of bored American teenagers with no job or social life. They would prefer a high fantasy over a low.
Again, just me. I'm not even joining this, because I'm not an American teenager with no job or social life.

I would personally say you should go full fantasy. Again, completely up to you- but full fantasy gives more chances to show creativity and retain a crowd of interested people. Remember, your target audience is a bunch of bored American teenagers with no job or social life. They would prefer a high fantasy over a low.

Yeppers, more or less.
Mind you, if you want to have your faction-specific unit be of a different race, go ahead. Won't bother me. Ara is predominantly human though, and just because a unit is Orkz or something doesn't mean I'll let them be gamebreaking.

Leader Name: Jake Foehammer
Starting Location: Far Eastern coast
Short Faction Biography: Demens Domus is the foremost scouting party of a foreign nation's navy. A scouting party that was supposed to secure ground, to gain a foothold for the rest of the navy to stand on and hack away at the island's inhabitants.
A navy that will never come.
A monster, unknown in origin, description or likeness tore through it long ago, leaving nothing but splinters, scraps too small to be called rags and an area of the sea that will soon be named 'The Gates of Hell', tinged red for a millenia more.
But that is neither here nor there, as the founders of the Demens society know none of this. Instead they knew that they are to gain a foothold. To establish limited soveriengty. And then to wait for help. So this is what they did. They established a beachhead and rode inward for several miles with limited resistance before setting up camp. And so they waited, quiet. And so they waited, harmless. But once the king died, bandits became more active; other factions stronger; poverty more common. Riots became as often as a light rain, the public sick and tired of weathering the swell of violence. And so the government acted. And so it conquers.

Short Faction Biography:
Born out of bloodbrothers from the ancient war, the Crimson Sword is a battle-brotherhood that has changed very little from the old times. However, they have softened their restrictions on who can live in their land, and so they have attracted a larger following, and instead of being a brotherhood, they are now a faction.
Faction Special Unit: Battlebrothers: The common foot-infantry of the Crimson, they're stronger and more powerful than most other infantry- but much slower.
Cost: x | Size: 80 men | Attack : 15 | Defense: 5 | Morale: 110 | Movespeed: 1
Special: Battlerage
Increase attack by 5, but bring down defense by 5.
Faction Special Building:
Citadel: Increase defense of units inside by 5. Units entering the Citadel gain bows to attack with akin to the standard archers, though they must be left at the Citadel after exiting. This is a hardy building, should have high structure points.
