Quarantine Zone (OOC; WE'RE STILL OPEN)

Postby Cylarn » Sat Jan 19, 2013 2:07 pm

(IC: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=220401)

Boston, Massachusetts, 2015 - For many years, Logan International Airport has been one of the world's busiest airports, conducting around 920-930 airport operations a day. Since 2001, security has been bumped up, as two of the hijacked flights during 9/11 actually flew out of Logan. With tight security, any serious incidents are easily taken care of. Logan is also home to important hubs and operations for many of the world's major airlines. In May of 2015, a biological weapon was released in Terminal C, infecting over a thousand people as they made their way to and from their respective flights. Almost immediately, the TSA and Massachusetts State Police Troop F quarantined the terminal. The Massachusetts Army National Guard, along with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the CDC, and other federal agencies were quickly mobilized.

Currently, the National Guard force is under the command of Brigadier General Scott Ross, and is a force consisting of elements of the 26th. Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, the 211th. Military Police Battalion, and the 126th. Aviation Regiment. Aid stations have been set up around the entire airport as the CDC and the DPH attempt to find out what the agent was. So far, their results point to a new, advanced strain of the Bubonic Plague that affects its victims much quicker than the previous form of the disease.

National Guard Commander: BG Scott Ross (Cylarn)
CDC Coordinator: Dr. James Grant (SSTxReaper).
TSA Coordinator: N/A.
FBI Agent in Charge: Nicolas Stone (Osarctica).
FAA Agent in Charge: N/A.
Army CID Agent in Charge: Alex Johnson (Konariona).
Troop F Commander: George Costigan (Vehemia).
Boston Police Commissioner: Joseph S. Miller (The Keystone Federation).
Army Biological Attack Assessment Unit (ABAAU) Commander: N/A.

In this RP, you can be anything, from a National Guard grunt or a reporter trying to figure out what's going on, to a CDC doctor who realzes that not everything is as it seems.

- Enforce the military quarantine of Ground Zero.
- Prevent any and all possible infected from escaping.
- Find the source of the attack.
- A warning shot must be given before using lethal force. [b]ONLY if they refuse to comply AFTER the warning shot should you use lethal force.
- Do not come into contact with the infected.

Name: Nicolas Stone
Age: 38
Gender: Male
Appearance (Picture Preferred):
Image

Personality: As would be expected in his profession, he's very secretive, to the point and professional.
Nationality: German-American
Birthplace: St. Louis, Missouri.
Affiliation: Federal Bureau of Investigation
Rank (If Police or Army):
Unit (If Army):
Education: Graduated second in his class at Yale
Basic Bio: Born in St. Louis, Nicolas was a very intelligent young man. He could typically be found at academic team meets, or in the classroom, excelling in nearly every subject. However, he tended to keep to himself. In fact, many at his school knew very little about him or his interests. Eventually he moved away, and went to college, attending Yale. He continued his pattern of academic excellence and somewhat seclusive nature here, though he did open up a bit more during his college years. After he graduated, he initially was a desk jockey in the Pentagon most of the time, doing endless hours of paperwork and things of the likes. He waded through this uneventful stage in his career with the agency, however, and eventually found that his effort was rewarded with being sent into the field--this is his fifth field assignment. He was sent to look further into the detonations of the chemical weapons to deduce if it was a terrorist attack, an attack by another nation, or whatever other possibilities his superiors considered probable.

If you keep making RPs at this rate you'll eventually effectively have a monopoly on them, you know.

For the sake of the RP, could you work for the FBI? It's an attack on US soil, so the FBI would be gathering intel on the attack first, since the attack occured in America.

Since you're in charge, I'd have to say Major, or Lieutenant Colonel. Or maybe Captain.

As for the national guard, would there be Snipers watching the perimeter?

Everyone who was in the terminal has been quarantined, either because they are contaminated with the agent, or because they might have released the weapon. Probably not actual snipers, but designated marksmen with Squad Designated Marksmen Rifles up on the rooftops. I'll announce when someone attempts to escape.

All military personnel at the barricades and in the medical tents will be wearing MOPP gear.

Added.

Also, I'm gonna add in a new command position. A team of soldiers from the fictional Army Biological Attack Assessment Unit will be present, under the command of a Captain. They are part of the US Army Chemical Corps.

As the 211th. is the closest thing to a standard infantry unit, it looks like you'll be an MP, but you'll still be the Squad Designated Marksman. You'll probably be a PVT, PFC, or an SPC.

Tag for interest. I probably be the CDC coordinator. But my question is how much control would the CDC coordinator have?

You're in charge of almost everything, except for the police and military. BG Ross is in control of on-site security, while the FBI is in charge of investigation. Your main job is to treat some of the infected in the tents and document the plague's spread, while the rest of the civilians are quarantined inside the terminal. The DPH officials and personnel answer directly to you.

Are you going to give out more information on the plague? Or are we the Rper's going to make it up?

I'll have an app up in 15 minutes.
