Seeing as plenty of the elements I would have picked have already been chosen, I guess I better go Earth. Somehow, I've ended up thinking of Earth magic from Familiar of Zero, too. Golems ftw!

Name: Coltaine Jal'keth
Sex: Male
Age: 17
Appearance:
Image Image

Element: Earth
Personality: He sometimes has a dark sense of humour, which he hides when he can. Despite his efforts, he sometimes acts without thinking, or misjudges situations. Coltaine can be quite capable and level-headed when faced with challenges, and is a fast learner, often only having to be taught something once before he learns it. Despite having seen some rougher parts of the world at his age, he remains fairly arrogant and can give a mule lessons in stubbornness unless firmly persuaded otherwise.
Weaknesses: Tendency to sometimes underestimate opponents. When pressured, can act without thinking. Uh, women? perhaps some other weaknesses if I think of em.
Equipment, if any: Some generic items, food, that kinda thing. White enamelled plate and mail armour, with a finely embroidered blue linen cloak bearing gold and silver stitching. A master-forged segmented hand-and-a-half whipsword (thank my creativity). Oh, and a steel round shield (Huscarl style).
Bio: Born the only son of Gorlas Jal'keth and Challice Jal'keth, of whom Gorlas latter remarried to Janath when Challice mysteriously disappeared and was never seen again- a somewhat influential noble family from a relatively prosperous human kingdom that has weathered the wars fairly well compared to some others, his "honourable" personality first manifested when he was quite young, and he saved his half-brother, who was born of Gorlas and Janath, from drowning once when he was young, and several other times from various dangers. As such, his half-brother always kind of looked up to him as he grew up and is six years younger than Coltaine.

His sister; Laseen Jal'keth, though, always seems to think badly of his attitude; saying that he was too envious, and too noble for his own good.
He learnt with astonishingly fast speed with the blade, from two mentors, one the captain of his family's guard, and the other the ex-Master of Swords in the King's guard.
Such was his skill, that the two men declared him to be one of the youngest known Blademasters around. Eventually, with a little influence from the man who was once in the King's Guard, he was incited to leave the family's estates, and then learn more from esteemed fighters in other parts of the kingdom, with different fighting techniques. Laseen of course, encouraged him to leave.

Travelling, Coltaine soon found himself in a war torn part of the kingdom- a place enshrouded in conflict despite the fact that the War of Darkness is over- and the conflict in question mainly stemming from humans themselves, and that was around the time he discovered his power, and began to utilize the power of his Earth magic. He may have done some dark things there, revealing his slightly bloodthirsty personality whilst as a mercenary for several months- albeit one with a rather high hiring cost. Not long later, he decided that he would increase his skills with Earth magic, and that if he continued looking, he might find fellow Elementals. He convinced some of the individuals he met, and who travelled with him, that it would be in everyone's interests for him to depart from these parts in search of other individuals who could wield such intriguing power, if hot his element, then observing and working out how Elementals with different powers worked would be potentially useful, too. He has recently arrived at a place by the name of Haventown, and wishes to learn more in the area of sorcery; perhaps as eagerly as he learnt how to fight with many a more mundane weapon. He soon realised the situation with the Elementals following the the end of the war precipitated by Daemonkind, and senses that caution and secrecy will be key in keeping what is to come under control.

Over the years, Coltaine has become used to the looks most women seem to give him, and he has accepted that as an oddity of life, not entirely understanding exactly why the way women do act when they're around him, though he sometimes gets uncomfortable in certain situations. If he harbours feelings for anyone though, he is usually the one to keep them to himself unless honour and obligation allows him otherwise, at least publicly. Despite the fact that everyone who thinks they know him believes him to be an honourable individual who never lies and envies not, he in truth, schemes and plans more than most.

Theme Song (Optional): Lacuna Coil- Our Truth.
RP Sample: I am known.

The character himself is alright, but there's a few things with his back-story that I have questions about. Most of the world is now under control of the United Gaiacan Federation (The U.G.F I mentioned in the OP), which is the human government that arose after the civil war against the Elementals ended more than sixty years ago. However, since I didn't fully explain the U.G.F in the OP, I'm willing to change the backstory to where the U.G.F is still the global superpower of Gaiaca, ruling the largest continent, but kingdoms still exists in other parts of the world, so you don't have to re-write Coltaine's bio a lot. And, this reminds me, I need to work out a map for the RP.
And how long has Coltaine been in Haventown?

Hurray!

Oh, and I thought may as well randomly mention a little thing that came to the forefront of my mind when I saw one of the other characters. To be precise; Olthar's reminds me for the strangest reason of Rukia's Zanpakuto in her manifested form. Namely Sode no Shirayuki, if you didn't know.

I'd say wait a little bit longer, maybe until tomorrow, and see what happens. If no one joins, then sure. Just go on. We'll figure something out later, but for right now, it's only a day old. We can afford to wait.

Also, if no one ends up picking the others, we could always have people with second characters. I could pick metal if no one wants it.

May I suggest starting tomorrow? Its a good buffer for those that might still apply, and I'm not going to be able to post in earnest until tomorrow, for one.

Name: Asuage Frostbirch
Sex: f
Age: unknown
Appearance: 'zis
Element: Nature
Personality: Calm, talkative, but speaks slowly. Friendly and empathic but somewhat distant. Rather odd. Erratic and impulsive.
Weaknesses: She has a tendency to lose track of conversations and can wander off at the oddest of times. Sometimes freaks out for no reason.
Equipment, if any: A small staff to channel her powers. Vials of magic healing water. Clothes and a bag that holds way more than it should be able to (mostly clothes, a bit of money, some useful trinkets, water, food and the like.)
Bio:
No one really knew Asuages true age, not even herself. Age altering magic had run in her family since before anyone could remember. She seemed never to have truly adopted to live in a human society for any prolonged period of time. Instead she lived in the forests and clearings, the wild fields and jungles that stretched across the continent, whose name she had long since forgotten. Long periods of time could go by before she would enter some village like a wild beast and live there for a couple odd years before the villagers would tire of her and drive her off. Most of her time was spent wandering the was wilds of the continent, meditating and trying to become one with her deep rooted elemental powers. Many a wild tales about dark witchcraft and nymphs had been concocted by woodsmen who had spotted her from time to time. At one time tried to live almost a decade as a tree, not even moving from the spot and gathering energy from sunlight and the forest around her.
Quite why Asuage would choose to live like this was not something that she was keen on discussing. She was not an eremite by nature and the loneliness often pained her. The truth was that the memories of the demonic wars were still fresh in her mind. In that battle so many people she knew had been killed. Her entire family, and the town in which she was living. In addition she could feel the pain of the land around her as if it was her own. As a result she had nearly lost her mind and had spent the next few decades desperately trying to heal both the wounds inside her, and the wounds that she could still feel just under the surface of the world. Occasionally she had surfaced in some town or village to drench her misery in alcohol and other hedonistic pursuits but this had almost always ended unsatisfactory. More than once she had been driven off by a the townspeople accused of dark witchcraft, murder or other atrocities.
When the world started to turn again Asuage could feel the pain almost immediately. She has now sworn to destroy whatever dark forces still linger in the world or die trying.

Limn of the moon

The ground is shining dim
ghostly mimicked mare's tail
a tempest yet to strike in force
as the sun beckons still its semblance
and its eerie aura lights the concourse
inflaming sparsely strewn rags
a giant to the millions
piercing little points of light
a disingenuous guise on the retina
haunted by boreal gusts
and the trees so weighted down
clothed in their shimmering silver crusts
or has it already passed?

The crow got the dragon to pick its flees dum dun ta di dam

Looks good so far. I'll wait until you finish the bio tomorrow before putting Asuage on the characters list.

That picture does not look 48. She's barely even 20.

Maybe her character uses her Nature magic to rejuvenate herself so she appears younger? (Though I will agree she doesn't look that old)
