The City of Paragon

Thanatos looked at all the dragons present in that room where he had been so many times before. Ziroc. Gavrix. Vorenc. Ellirna. Drellven. Then there was Nazzarine, on whose the Shadowborn's eyes fell for a moment more than on the rest. He and Nazzarine had quite a history together. She was the one to give him the scar that even now was visible on his back, golden like her scales, a scar marking the place where the wound that stained his wings as well once stood. And yet, thanks to her, he had also managed to earn the support of the Dragon-Lord Council, which led to him bringing her back to them, and earning two powerful weapons and the favor and gratitude of both the Council and the people of Paragon.

He then looked at Alzoroth, the leader of the Dragon-Lord Council, just as the elderly dragon began speaking. He was already well aware of the dragon's tendency to ramble, so instead of responding, he simply shook his head when asked if he knew the motive of his summoning, and then continued listening. He allowed himself to smile when Alzoroth called him the champion of the Council. It was simply a small smile, and besides, if a person smiles and there is nobody who can see it, does the smile still exist?

When the elderly dragon and leader of the Council, Alzoroth, finally concluded his long-winded speech, asking him to go to the South and investigate the state of dragons there, Thanatos thought for a moment. He, obviously, would accept the mission, but there were other things to consider. However, soon enough he had considered them. So, he raised his head, looking at the eyes of the enormous dragon.

"I will do as you ask of me, Lord Alzoroth." He stated. "As for your resources... I do not believe I will need anything but your blessings for this journey. I will depart today." He declared, and waited for the dragons to say something else, or allow him to leave.

Lite Rige

This was a surprise, she had willingly accepted with, no questions of his name or what he would give her or anything the usual girl would ask. Lite usually preferred a slight challenge, but this was fine, for this girl truly was something quite special, maybe in the head, but either way, she was a trophy of diamond godliness. Lite felt a rush of triumph as he saw her hand, almost reaching for his, until Solaris interrupted. Dirty bitch Lite exclaimed in his mind as her high pitched witch like voice screeched like the banshee she was. A few crackles of her whips snapping around, Lite let it happen a few times before swatting the whip away before even nearing belt. Horrible timing as always, and now this horrid lady wanted to bother Lite's personal affairs, she really did seek a beating, perhaps she forgot who has more control over the city, of most of the cities, of the entire faction, Laughing Coffins. Lite stood silent while the banshee embraced Luci. Disgusting, how could she let the grime that was Solaris touch her, Luciana's beauty. Enough of this.

Lite stepped forward, stern anger in his expression, in his stance, in his forcefulness, as if he were in battle with someone he hated. He placed a hand on Solaris's shoulder, and with a rough movement, Lite pried Solaris right off of Luciana. Pushing Solaris aside then stepping between the two, Luciana and Solaris. "Away foul witch, begone, for you are the dredge of the earth, the disgust of all that is horrid," Lite yelled at Solaris before glancing around a few times, particular looking for the number of guards, indeed there were plenty, enough to take down both Lite and Solaris. "Hah, you reveal yourself then!" Lite yelled out, loud enough for each guard to hear, "a member of the Conclave! Here in Equinox, a city laying in the territory of Valdaran influence, you're obviously not the smartest!" Lite then waved and gestured for the guards, "Hurry, guards, a member of the Conclave!" He called out before turning to the young beauty, Luciana, and turning her away from the horrid, Solaris. Guards immediately ran at Solaris lunged and tackled her as if she were a towering Harbinger. While Solaris, taken care of, Lite hurriedly led the young Valatir away from there, into the crowd to become untraceable by the wicked witch. While they retreated Lite found and pulled another member of the Laughing Coffins and whispered into his ear, "Solaris is not welcome tonight!" He told the member, which scurried off to warn and tell everyone. And they all prepared to keep her out of any sanctuary of the Coffins. She's lucky i fray from actually punishing her Lite grumbled.

Once far enough away, Lite slowed their pace,and moved to Luciana's side. "I am terrible sorry for that event, more and more delusion people are wondering into the city. I swear, what is this world coming to." He said before taking her hand and wrapping it around his muscular arm and arching his own arm like a gentlemen so she could hold on tightly. Now that they were in a much more calmer climate, Lite could speak with her more casually and more gently. "By the way, my name is Lite Rige, a uh, noblemen of Equinox," he introduced himself, facing forward but his eyes turned to her, her beautiful body and gorgeous face. "I promise, I will make it up to back at my home, until then, why not tell me about yourself, miss..?" Lite left his sentence open for her to start.

Alzoroth
The City of Paragon

Alzoroth looked pensively at Thanatos. He had been in the service of the Council for a long time, had even brought back Nazzarine single handedly. He had other motives but all of them were just, he was what made the younger races worthy of his goals. Alzoroth looked to the other dragons present, an air of gravity now hung even more heavily than it did before as they proceeded to nod one by one. Then he looked back at Thanatos, ready to speak.

“Go forth with my blessing Shadowborn, Bloodwing, Silver Shadow, Knight of Alzoroth, and Chosen of the Dragons, may you be safe and succeed,” he said solemnly, mostly solemnly, what looked like it might have been a smile formed on his reptilian face as he called Thanatos a Knight of Alzoroth. When he had finished the other dragons took turns reciting the same blessings. It wasn’t a typical occurrence, but the occasion seemed to demand a special farewell to Thanatos, who would be risking his life for the continuation of their race.

When all had finished they themselves began leaving through the great chambers seven entrances. All left but Nazzarine who remained to have a word with Thanatos. She had wounded him terribly, and yet he had saved her, saved her from whatever end awaited her guarding a City Heart and hoping for brethren that would never come.

“I wish you well Thanatos. I am honored to know you, one day your dreams will be realized, however naïve some think they are. I wish to offer you a ride out of the mountains, it is the least I could do after what you have done for me,” she said.

The City of Paragon

Thanatos, after speaking, simply continued looking at Alzoroth and the other dragons of the Council, watching how each of them solemnly nodded as Alzoroth looked at them. When he and the other dragons started giving him their blessings, he smiled once again. He doubted they could see his smile, as his curled lips were the color of shadow, just like his skin, but he smiled nonetheless. These dragons he had served for a long time. In a way, they had become his anchor. Before, he was completely alone in the world save for his hope and his sorrow, the two things that pushed him forward towards his goal. But now, he had something else. He knew that he could always head back to Paragon. He even dared consider these dragons, particularly Alzoroth and Nazzarine, his friends, though he was ignorant as to whether or not they thought the same of him.

Then Nazzarine remained behind, to have a word with him. Thanatos could tell this when she did not leave along with the others, and remained in the room as well, to listen to what the dragon of golden scales had to say to him. For the third time, he smiled. Her words of encouragement, as well as her offer, were gestures he appreciated very much.

"I thank you for your offer, Nazzarine. I would be honored to ride with you again." He said to her. "I am ready to depart whenever."

And it was true. He had everything he needed. He currently wore his armor and his cloak. As always, his sword was in its scabbard, which hung to his side, his knife was in its sheath, his cannon was strapped to his arm, and his lute was on his back. A pouch of gold and a couple of potions were hanging from him, and the two soul gems were safely stored inside the cloak.

He was ready to depart whenever. He simply awaited Nazzarine's word.

I'm finally here thought Mimir as he spotted the outline of the city Catharsis. During his travels had heard an interesting rumor about a being called Bhaalgorn who had been alive since the War of Attrition. "Such a being must know much," Mimir said as he talked to himself. As Mimir began to think of questions he could ask Bhaalgorn, he ran into his most troubling one, I have no way of contacting him thought Mimir. His thoughts were interrupted by an uncomfortable feeling in his stomach. Looks like I have arrived thought Mimir. Mimir yet again turned his focus back on reality, and went to find an inn.

"Oh, yes," Coryth replied to Eros, wracking his mind for another inn nearby. He couldn't return to the one he'd just come from, as they may have already discovered the body. He narrowed his eyes a bit, overviewing his mental map of Catharsis.
"Yes," he repeated a moment later. "Come, I'll show you." He turned and walked down the street through the crowds for a few metres, before uncovering a dark, narrow side street that wasn't visible until he was almost past it. Checking to see that the man... being... was following, he turned sharply into it, weaving between the comparatively few people and the stalls lining the mostly-blank walls, many selling sorcerous wares that bordered on being, or in many cases were, illegal: Solandr horn, Valatir feathers, Syldar twigs, Pylorian crystal fragments, Harbinger liver.... Of course, these weren't the only things on sale in the alley. One could also find herbs, simple weapons, and low-grade soul gems, amongst other things.
All of these Coryth whisked past. He didn't fear any of the merchants or heir customers, as his tail posed a great enough threat that none dared get too close. He glanced behind him at Eros, sharply turning into another alley, identical to the last. A few more turns later, and they were on another fairly large street. He led the being down to a tall, narrow wooden building with a sign swinging above the door declaring that it to be "The Weird Sisters' Inn for Lost Travellers."
Upon entering they were greeted by a youthful elven woman with silver hair and simple attire. "Hello," she greeted cheerily, unfazed by the demon's appearance.

Eros kept close behind Coryth, discerning him via his mind. As he passed through the alleyway and saw many of the shops and vendors, he became slightly amused. "Fake, fake, fake, fa...actually, could that be a fragment of Soliathers sword," Eros thought, passing by swiftly to keep up with this Demon, knowing to keep full enough away from the others, as they somewhat coward to the Demons tail. He wasn't actually sure what the demon wanted, though he was pretty sure he knew where it was headed. He also wished to make this Demon a disciple of his, as the Demon seemed a prime candidate, and all he needed was the seeds in his mind to do it...

They reached the inn, "The Weird Sisters' Inn for Lost Travellers." "Oh, what a lovely name," thought the God to himself sarcastically. The young elven women greeted them. "Greetings young Elf, I would wish to acquire a room in this inn," Eros says, pulling out a coin purse and taking out several gold coins to give to the elf...

Bhaalgorn grunted in disappointment as he sifted thourght the notes of the murdered noble women, the one that had been performing blood rites. He had been in the form of a city guard searching through the notes and other papers of the women for over 4 hours now. From what he had found she had stumbled upon the rites in a old scroll, one that Bhaalgorn had actually written him self almost 300 years ago, when he had headed his own blood cult in a small ruined temple to the north. It detailed rites used to collect blood for and call to Bhaalgorn. Though where she got the idea to paint the offerings in gold and why they had to be alive he had no clue. Some one had given her this scroll and told her to modify the rites. Some one wanted him in this city and didn't want him to know why or who.

So his search would continue, but first he had two piorities, he needed fresh blood, and he wanted to find out more about that amazing construct he had seen following the demon in the markets earlier. He left the home of the noble and headed for the slums of the city, and assumed the form of a small elven women, in the garb of a servant to a weathy house, a prime target for thieves and other bandits. With luck he would soon be attacked and could receive a near guilt free meal.

Where have I ended up now thought Mimir as he walked amongst the crowds in the slums of Catharsis. Mimir thought even though I can tell I'm in the slums I still have no idea where I am... perhaps I should ask someone for directions. Following that thought he turned into a dilapidated alley and ran into a small elven woman. she looks like a servant... well beggars can't be choosers. After contemplating his choices Mimir apologized and then asked if she knew where he could find a library.

Bhaalgorn paused as the Solandr approached, he hadn't had Solandr in quite a while awhile and readied him self to kill the man. But as he was about to move the man stopped, apologized and then proceeded to ask for directions to a library. Some what disappointed Bhaalgorn spoke.

"Yes, I know the roads of this city, I will guide to the library, but I have errands to run if you wish to follow me I will take you there afterwards. Oh, If we run into trouble it would be best for you to stay out of the fight, I can certainty handle my self."

After he began to walk in to the deeper parts of the slums not even checking if the man was following him.

The elf took Mimir by surprise with her nonchalant remarks, which made Mimir think either the guards are so terrible women have to know self defense techniques or the criminals are a joke. By the time Mimir turned his focus back on reality he noticed the elf was already a fair distance away. Though a tad bit annoyed Mimir decided to take the elf up on her offer, and rushed to catch up.

Nazzarine
The City of Paragon

“You are most welcome Thanatos,” Nazzarine said before lowering her body to the ground. Though sharp spikes of bone made a path down her neck, the distance between them grew as they reached her back, creating enough room for a man to sit. She admitted to herself that it was probably not a comfortable seat, but when speed was of the essence discomforts could be tolerated. It had been a long time since she had born a rider other than Thanatos, she imagined it was the same for the other dragons as well, it was something done only rarely in the best of times.

The blade cut throught the Large man with ease. As the Humans life blood spilled Craster trudged on as he has done since... Tygett... Just the thought of his brother made the the blade called guilt twist almost painfully inside his very being. Why?! Why did it still hurt?! It had been more then 2,000 years since he fought that last Demon horde, since Pylor died, since his brother last spoke to him. Craster almost hit himself, he had more important things then grieving for a crime so old that few remembered it. Just a minute ago, Craster was set upon by a group of Humans and Chimera likly trying to take his armor and weapons but they payed the price for their transgression and several bodies now lay on the stone ground their life blood draining from them.

Craster was on his way through one of the places most ravaged by the chaos of the fall of the gods. When the god of Rock and Stone fell from his plane his release of Energy caused most of the area around him to become petrified. Some men who stayed here often became slightly corrupted, often loseing their sanity and turning extremities into stiff almost stone like appendages. Craster only encountered two of these creatures on his journey, a Human female and a Female Solandr, both died like all mortals; with their life blood pooling under them.

So went the journey through the petrifird forests and Craster made his way North towards his fate. Redemption or damnation? It was all up to the Tylos the First among the Pylorians.

Ingir the Lost

Time seemed to have stopped for Ingir, he had lingered in this forest of stone for days without food or water, not that he needed much. Right now he sat atop the shoulders of a petrified Valatir, its wings pressed against the ground as it knelt to some forgotten impact...they provided a good foot rest. He would have continued meditaing, but the crunching of dry earth under heavy feet drew him from his thoughts. When he looked to his right a figure in rune-covered armor was coming into view from around a sizeable mound of stone, he trekked solemnly through the forest of stone, almost seeming lost in some introspective musings.

"A traveller in these parts?" Ingir stated loud enough for Craster to hear him, his voice was raspy and dry, sounding almost like that of a whispy old librarian. If Craster looked he would note that the man's entire figure was enshrouded by a black hooded coat. "I thought I was the only one who wandered the empty roads."

Luciana Belle
The City of Equinox

“Don’t you think that was mean?” Luciana asked, that woman had seemed so friendly and Lite had treated her so harshly, she couldn’t understand it. She had been so sweet, she thought, nearly tearing up at the very idea of someone that had appeared so nice being treated like that. She barely seemed to notice he was talking as she continued her internal musings, her wings fluttering occasionally.

When she did take notice of him again she tried in vain to pull her arm away from him, her limited capacity for suspicion aroused by his volatile character. “Why don’t you tell me more about yourself?” she asked with what she thought was a subtle hint of suspicion. He had really not done a great job of handling his first impression by her reckoning.

Lite Rige

This girl certainly was dense, and apparently not very aware, but all was fine. This situation, just as any other, could be manipulated to his liking by the wit of his tongue and the charm of his smile. Of course that was a mean thing to do, but nothing that she did not deserve. Obviously, Luci hadn't been paying attention to what had happened, Lite was being threatened by the whip, as well his pride was being threatened, and most of all, his authority was being threatened. Lite is the sole leader of the Laughing Coffins, and deserved the respect he gets from his underlings, and those who do not obey him, obviously don't react well to the results of their actions. Lite had plenty reason to react in such a way, if any other would see him let Sol walk right over him, they would lose respect for him, that was something Lite could not dare risk.

"Mean, did you not see her whip almost clash with my face, with my body?" Lite began, "She may have acted with only kindness towards you, but she showed utter cruelty against me. What I said was a compliment towards her, for what she is worse. She arrived claiming to know who I am and insulted me with every word of her faille and she even insulted your beauty by calling you haggard, did you not hear her?" Lite glanced at Luci as he continued to walk on, "As well, I know her personally, she is a horrid enchantress who casts curses on men and women, by luring them to her home with, uhm, hugs, as she tried with you. In fact, you should be thankful I was not affected by her magical aura, for the crowd was in a trance. I was able to ignore it, for I was once almost tricked by her ruse, but I valiantly fought for my freedom, and now I strive to be sure no one else is hurt by her disgusting nature." Lite finished with a smile, feeling that his little speech should be enough to convince this naive girl that what he had done was in complete just.

"More about myself?" Lite continued on to her next question, "well, I am in no way someone special, just a humble man, wishing only to bring smiles to any and all people's faces, such as your own. You are not the first girl I have taken home with me to nurture, as you may have guessed. I do remember a young girl, perhaps half your age, her parents had disappeared and I cared for her until her parents could be found and claimed, and I remember an old man who down on his luck due to his addiction to gambling, I saved him from his ways and showed that life was to wondrous to waste in the gutters of back allies. But again, I shall keep to modesty, for I am humble and do not wish for you to treat me with more kindness than you should." Lite was good at this, just as he was with everything else, his mouth was indeed a force to be reckoned with. "Well that suffice your wondering?"

Craster the Impure
For the first time in untold centuries, Craster was caught off guard. The voice he heard was male, raspy and very dry, and on pure instinct he reached for his basterd sword. The "creature" speaking to him was siting atop a petrified Valatir and was enshrouded by a black hooded coat. However this "creature" speaking to him did not make any threating movements so Craster took his hand from the sword hilt and answerd this "creatures" question.

"I have travelled many roads lost and known in my years of wandering." Craster replied dryly in his voice of crackling ice. "May I ask, why are you traveling these lost roads alone? This road is not the safest of them and if you linger here you may become something made of less flesh and blood and more stone then you are now."

The City of Paragon

Thanatos nodded at Nazzarine, and then watched as she lowered her body and head. With all the care and respect he could possibly have, he stepped up onto her and walked through the path of scales that led down to her back, sitting down on it once he reached it. He made sure that he was in the correct position before Nazzarine took off, though. He was not unfamiliar with riding a dragon. He had done it once, long ago, when he accompanied Nazzarine back to Paragon after telling her about the Dragon-Lord Council. That time, it had been quite difficult, due to both his injuries and his inexperience. He was certain that this time would be different.

And so, once they were both ready, Nazzarine walked out of the building and, once they were in open space, she took off. This time, Thanatos did manage to stay where he sat. The flight, after that, had been rather smooth. Sitting in the golden dragon's back, Thanatos watched the lands beneath him, wondering when they would reach his destination...

...And what awaited him there.

Bhaalgorn finally found what he was looking for 4 members of a gang, wearing leathers one with a iron plate chest piece. As he walked past he bumped into the smallest of the four almost knocking him over. His reaction was as planned.
"What the fuck, elven bitch" said the smallest
"Do you know what you just did, do you know who we are? The biggest threatened, as he grab Bhaalgorn's cloak and ripped it off. At that point if he had payed attention he would have notice the cloak turn to liquid and flow back into Bhaalgorn.
What the fuck is with her eyes? The smallest piped in again.
"Who cares, you know she's not bad looking.. maybe we could have some fun with her to make up for that trouble."
Bhaalgorn could barely take this filth any more, but he wanted to see if the Solandr would do something, his reactions would tell him much about what he was like.
The biggest took Bhaalgorn by the back of the neck and slammed his face into a crate sitting by the side of the road and cut at his Dress and under garments. Finaly Bhaalgorn decided he would see what the solandr did after he had killed and devoured these fools. He changed himself to a pool of blood and flowed under and behind the large man shooting a spike into his crotch as he passed under killing him. As he formed him self into a red armored figure behind the bandit he ripped the blood from his now lifeless corpse and turned it into a massive claymore and split the small one in to at the base of his rib cage then rammed the third into the nearest wall hard enough to break apart the mortar in between the stones. The impact crushed his ribs and as he collapsed he began coughing up blood. The smell of it exited Bhaalgorn and he brought his foot to rest on the back of the man's neck. Then raised his armored boot and dropped it down with inhuman force breaking the man's neck. the last of the four was running down the ally, towards the solandr. Maybe he would be killed, or he would run and tell of the day a small elven servant girl turned into a beast of living blood and almost killed him.

The year’s at the spring,
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hill-side’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in His heaven—
All’s right with the world!

How troublesome Mimir thought as he stabbed the bandit running towards him. After confirming the bandit's death Mimir looked towards the armored being and thought this must be Bhaalgorn. Then in a humble voice Mimir asked, "Bhaalgorn my name is Mimir and I seek knowledge of what the world was prior to the War of Attrition."

Daveth was panting harshly, his hands on his knees, his tongue hanging out. His dog, Rex, was slowly trotting around him, his tongue also lolling out, him slowly whining. The Earth was cracked and dry beneath his feet, a lone breeze causing the loose soil to fly up. Daveth coughed harshly. He had been traveling North-East for four days, and was just reaching the shattered plains. He had been running at a constant high speed mush of the way, thanks to his natural ability and the claw he was wearing around his neck, which he had taken from his mothers person in the dead of night. He hadn't wanted to leave, but he didnt feel as if he had much of a choice..."No, I must not think about it," said Daveth angrily to himself. Rex looked up at him and whined, worried for his master."Its okay Rex...just me feeling a bit homesick..."

The wind started to gust around him, and suddenly out of no where an extremely large dragon was flying over the sky, and it was close enough to the ground that the wind knocked Daveth and Rex down. It was flying southward, and soon was out of sight...but not without a glimpse that there was a rider. Daveth just stared, amazed at what he had just witnessed, until Rex's barks brought him back." Come on Rex," Daveth said in wonder," Lets run for another hour before we set camp." And with that, they started running

Ingir the Lost

Concern for others? A surprise these days, Ingir thought as he looked at this stranger. He stood, dropping off the statue to the earth below. It was clear he was rather tall and slender, at least six feet, and his coat almost seemed to not touch flesh. He took a few steps forward, it would appear from his stumbling gait that he lacked any sort of balance, he walked almost as if he didn't know where he was going to put his foot down when he lifted it.

"Me?" Ingir asked, as if the question could be directed at anyone else. "I just go where my feet take me stranger, and rarely have they steered me wrong," he said the last part almost to himself, even looking off to the side as he spoke. "So what are you doing out here?" he asked.

Luciana Belle
The City of Equinox

Luciana frowned slightly, she felt like she was being cheated, but he sounded so nice now that she couldn't help but trust him, and he did have an explanation for everything didn't he? She did have to make a note on one of his points though, looking down at herself she realized her clothing did look a little tattered.

"I think she was talking about my clothes when she called me haggard, and she wanted to buy me things," Luciana said pensively, not that she didn't have her own money of course, she just thought it was nice of the stranger. I don't think she is a horrid enchantress, she thought glumly, she really did feel bad. She listened as he went on to talk about his wondrous achievments, he sounded like a saint, if her trust in him had been shaken before it wasn't now.

"Yes it does," she said to his last question, her bright and cheery attitude returning.
"Omnis sermo sacer est."

The Sky above the Wardens

The flight was taking a bit, though that was to be expected. Riding on the back of a dragon was certainly not something just anyone could do, and they were certainly swift creatures in the skies, but even then, they were not fast enough to fly him from Paragon to the outside of the mountains in just a few minutes. Thanatos knew this, and so, as Nazzarine flew, he simply stared down at the scenery that whizzed by. Amidst the mountains and trees and everything else, he could make out a few shapes down in the ground. A wounded beast looking for its group. A band of adventurers setting up camp. A traveller and his dog being knocked down by the wind brought about by Nazzarine's flight.

Eventually, though, they reached the other side of the Wardens. The South. The land of the two Empires, of Loric and of Althora, and of the Gods themselves and the barren middle grounds in which they once fought. A land he had treaded many times in the past. But that was long ago, before the Empires had come to be. Thanatos was old, very old, older than one could possibly guess. Older than he himself knew. It was, as such, no surprise that he had been there before Loric and Althora created their Empires. However, it had also been a long, long time ago since he last walked into the South. He wondered how much it would have changed.

Once Nazzarine had landed, Thanatos jumped off of her back, his wings extending and allowing him to slowly descend to the ground, instead of plummeting down. He landed as well, and then walked ahead of Nazzarine before turning around, so that he was facing her. "Thank you again for this, Nazzarine." He said to the golden dragon.

Lite Rige

As he wanted, the young winged beauty had returned to her happy demeanor that made the sun shine brighter. Even as she continued in her obvious naive gloom about what had happened not long before, she still seemed to be quite adorable. No one could not notice her, standing along side him, she was like jewel holding on to gold. Lite felt that the two were possibly the perfect image, she was definitely someone he intended on holding onto. Even with how naive she was, she would be like a trophy for Lite, and perhaps with her utterly adorable appearance, she could be somewhat of a mascot. Though those thoughts seemed to be just at the tip of his mind, nothing but silly reasoning for him to justify keeping her around when she seemed almost completely useless.

"Well then, your turn, sweet miss," Lite said glancing to her once more, "So tell me how that smile, that could make any king give up all his riches for you, is sitting here, in Equinox."

The elf glanced down at the coins. "That's enough for now," she said, holding out her hand. The coins gravitated towards it, and hopped into her open palm of their own accord. She closed her hand around them, and turned her head exactly 90 degrees to her left, where a narrow staircase led upstairs. On cue, another elf, identical in appearance to the first one, appeared at the top of the stairs. "Take these two to room three-nine-two." The other elf nodded and beckoned to them. Coryth started towards the stairs, gesturing for Eros to go ahead of him. When the god had done so, he began up the stairs after him.
They ascended three storeys, the elf silently making her way up the steps. When they reached their destination she left the staircase, which continued up into the building, and walked out into a hallway, not stopping to wait. She led them down numerous hallways and around many more corners than seemed possible for such a narrow building, taking a specific route through the convoluted hallways without cessation or hesitation, until finally they arrived at a door. The numbers "392" were burned into the wood. She produced a bronze key from nowhere and inserted it into the keyhole, and turned. The door swung open, revealing a room containing a fairly wide bed, a chair, an inkwell and an old quill on a small writing table, and an oil lamp.
The woman retreated without a word, leaving the key in the door.
