She pointed to the somewhat lopsided-looking helmet with what appeared to be aluminum-plated lead foil in the lining. It was actually about a half-centimeter of lead coated in aluminum, but it didn't matter, it was more than enough to get the job done, even for Hanna.

Bushra’s eyes glanced at the Princess for a fraction of a moment before snapping back to their original position.

Told you you were over thinking it.

She could be lying! You mean you’re going to just take her word on it!?

…Yes.

The thought surprised Bushra.

Meanwhile, a nurse looking for her had found Nastya in the hangar, and after she was assured that the alert is over, she allowed herself to be escorted back to the infirmary, especially, since her painkillers were losing their effectiveness, reminding her of her utter lack of skin on her legs. With each step being more painful than the previous one.

However, she tried her best to collect herself, and not show pain, as she's an elite Striker Witch. And her injuries were caused by herself, and not the enemy, it was enough shame for her. Then, from the end of the corridor, she could hear Hanna telling people to keep quiet, and when she was closing, she could see Bushra, and a tired-out Hanna. She broke from the grasp of the nurses, then attempted to pin Busra to the wall.

< OOC: If she wasn't successful > Then she tried to slap Bushra, and pin her to the floor. (OOC: And ignore the rest of the post.)
< OOC: If she was successful in pinning her to the wall: >
Then, seeing the tired Hanna, she tried controlling her voice to not echo through the entire ship, remaining in rage, and speechless for seconds, as the nurses called for reinforcements.

"Look. I don't know what you have against nobility, or whatever they had done to your friends or family. I know Hanna can act strange, and I know how immensely dangerous she could be. But Private... couldn't you find a better time than just after she had saved your * home from being turned to * plate glass by the * Neuroi? You could see it moving faster than Mach 5 and still accelerating! Even I can't go that fast, the fastest Witch in the entire Orussian Air Force! Without her powers, you'll be insulting her for allowing your city to be destroyed. So I'd like to ask you as a colleague, or a fellow girl to let her sleep, and then insult her for what she couldn't influence, since she was born to be a Princess, and it's not her fault in your eyes."

She then let her go, and turned her back on her.
"You have ignored a direct order from your superior. It'll be reported to the unit commander. Prepare for court-martial."

Sarah arrived to check what this mess was, and noticed someone on the ground. As the princess arrived on board, the panic an the chaos seemed to have taken control of the 501th.

How an elite team could end like this, she couldn't understand. If the princess wanted to read in the mind, please, she was perfectly fine exposing her...

...she noticed she had a knife. How that wepon ended on her, she still also had her AT rigle but she remembered to take that at least. Maybe dhe was stressed too.

Bushra resignedly allowed Anastasia to push her against the wall. All she wanted was to get out of the med-bay now. To get away from Hanna. She knew…or at least she knew as well as she could…that she wasn’t being influenced by the Karlslandic Princess and the Princess knew Milovanovic was on-board. No reason to stay. Job done.

Fighting back would only prolong her time in the infirmary with Hanna.

Giving in so easily again? Has five years in the Ottoman Air Force taught you nothing? You need to make THEM hurt for a change! It’s the only way they’ll listen to you! They’ve been tossing you around since you arrived, make them PAY for it! Bring them the punishment their wickedness deserves! Beat them! See how they enjoy being at another person’s mercy for a change! Hurt them!

Starkindler wrote:"Look. I don't know what you have against nobility, or whatever they had done to your friends or family. I know Hanna can act strange, and I know how immensely dangerous she could be. But Private...

Bushra raised her leg slightly from its position against the wall, the ghost of a smile playing on her lips.

Would it hurt more to break her knee or just scrape my leg against the burns? Perhaps after that I could throw her at Lysta? Or perhaps I should just finish the job and crack her skull against the bulkhead while she's handy? Of course, then Lysta could probably shoot me...Could I get to Friederike before she did?

…What the hell are you thinking?

Starkindler wrote:...couldn't you find a better time than just after she had saved your * home from being turned to * plate glass by the * Neuroi? She then let her go, and turned her back on her.
"You have ignored a direct order from your superior. It'll be reported to the unit commander. Prepare for court-martial."

Bushra’s leg dropped back to its original position as Anastasia mentioned Hanna stopping the Neuroi.

What the hell AM I thinking?

Bushra remained leaning against the wall for a moment after Anastasia let her go.

“Ma’am yes ma’am.” She replied weakly, her earlier bloodlust now completely gone. Replaced by an intense…Shame? Sorrow? Bushra wasn’t really sure herself. Keeping one arm against the wall, she walked towards the exit of the infirmary. Her left eye where Friederike had hit her beginning to puff & swell.

You’ll regret not taking a harder line when you’re being controlled by Milovanovic along with every other person on the ship! You don’t think the Princess was doing anything to you? You think you just imagined it all in your head and thought yourself into a frenzy? Imagine how bad it would be actually having someone in there if that’s how bad it is when you just think you’re being controlled!

Shutup, it’s not important anymore.

Not important? Staying alive and in control of yourself sounds pretty damn important to me!

I’ve done all I can.

No, you’ve done all that you think you can. That’s all you ever do. You always insist on doing less than is required to actually get anything done. You aren’t willing to make the sacrifices necessary to get your way.

What, like teacher would have me do? Planting bombs on buses and inside banks?

Yes! Some sacrifices are necessary.

Bushra paused when she got to the exit and slowly glanced at Natalie, Lysta, and Eeva.

“Hallway?” She asked tiredly, pointing towards the outside of the infirmary. She still cared about what would happen but it just didn't seem as important anymore. She'd done her damned duty for humanity and put the Neuroi first. She'd shot at them rather than the Princess, and she'd put them first and warned the only person on the ship who could combat it of Milovanovic's arrival, which possibly was some kind of ploy to help the Illyrian revolution and draw the Yeager away from fighting the Neuroi.

She'd betrayed her ideals because the Neuroi came first.

You think your masters will give you a medal? Maybe it could be engraved with 'For outstanding compromise in the face of evil' or something to that effect.

Then, the radio channel suddenly became cluttered by the bickering of her squadron mates. All the shouts, all the screams and the overall chaos that was going on in the channel ticked Matilde off. She didn't care for all the bickering in the radio, as if she had quickly filtered and isolated it.
Then, Matilde stopped in her tracks. Amongst all the bickering, she had heard two different voices. But only one really mattered to her.
"MERDA!" she uttered, quickly storming away from the armory.

The door of the Yeager's brig was suddenly slammed open, as Matilde barged in, her Beretta 92FS already drawn. The Sergeant made her way through her brig, searching frantically for someone in particular.
"Svetlana!? Where are you? Are you okay?"

The cell which held the three prisoners were but a mess of red and bits. Painting the cell walls in a vile mess, it was as if they had been blown apart from within. On further inspection, the few bits of shrapnel floating in the pool of blood showed just that. Question was, how did they get there.

Slumped against the wall with a sickly look on her face, Svetlana was on the edge of exhaustion and revulsion. Facing away, she was in no mood to speak to Matilde at this point. True enough, a small, sick-looking pool of vomit outside the door was enough to indicate her reaction.

Sveta could only meekly grasp Matilde's hands as she trembled under the increasingly twisted plot emerging around her. Nothing seem to make sense anymore. Nothing at all.

"Why is this happening so quickly?... What's happening to us?..." she wept in agony, burying herself in Matilde's chest, "Maria would drown herself if she saw what has become of us... What did we do to fail her this badly?... What?... I... I don't understand..."

It was too much for the girl to bear any more. It was as if a much darker side of insanity, far more insidious than Maria's own brand of crazy, was taking root in the 501st. And who could she blame? Adela? Ljiljana? Or even Princess Hanna? She had no idea what to say, and there was really nothing more she could think of doing.

As Yuri was walking towards the infirmary a call came out on the walkie-talkie. "Sgt.Silvestri speaking! We have found human...re...remains in the brig. Please, I need backup there!".
"Shit!" Yuri exclaimed. "What the hell happened down there." He rushed down to the brig, drawing his pistol before entering.
"Sargent. Are you there." He called.

"I'm there, sir!" Matilde replied to Yuri, as she quickly moved in front of him, bringing Svetlana with her.
"Svetlana found the remains in a brig cell, and alerted Lieutenant Fei. I overheard the conversation, and I decided to reply to her distress call." she quickly explained to Yuri, before looking down the brig again.
"I'll...I'll bring Svetlana to the infirmary. She was shocked by such sight, and I'm worried of that."

Occupied Deutschland wrote:Just as she was winding up to punch the Karlslandic witch, Bushra’s head jerked forwards entirely against her will, and connected with Friederike’s with a rough crack. Dazed from the blow, Bushra rolled over slightly, clutching at the gurney’s legs to haul herself up from her position on the floor with one hand while clutching her face with the other.

She was moments away from swinging the gurney around to hit Friederike when Princess Hanna’s voice once again interrupted.

Rupudska wrote:
It seemed that Hanna had finally had enough. E. Fucking. Nough. Her magic antennae flickered on to green, then red, then back to green before fading entirely.

"Will you people SHUT THE HELL UP? Jesus Christ, do you even realize how annoying you sound?" She first turned to Bushra.

"Bushra, get your shit together before someone throws you in an insanity ward! I was going to read your thoughts to see just what the hell you have against me, but it's like a war zone in your head! You may as well be thinking in Neuroi for all I could tell!"

"Lysta, put your gun down and get out of here! You're not helping in any way!"

"Friederike, I could barely tell what was in Bushra's mind, partly because I'm too damn tired to pry in there, but I'm pretty damn sure she wasn't trying to kill me!"

Liar! Liar liar liar liar liar liar-

SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!

She took a deep breath, lying back down on the bed. She looked even more tired than she did earlier. Her eyes looked sunken, with minor bagginess and obvious dark circles. It made sense, she hadn't slept in almost 18 hours. She suddenly sat back up, put what appeared to be a modified helmet with something thin and shiny sticking out from underneath, and lay back down.

"Could you people just calm down and take your arguments somewhere else? I need to sleep, and I don't care what's going on outside right now. I should have been asleep hours ago."

Heh, she can’t read your thoughts.

Only because they’re so messed up. Not something to be proud of.

She’s giving you an excuse to get away from her! Take it! TakeitTakeitTakeit…

Using the hand she had on the gurney to leverage herself upright, Bushra stared around the infirmary. She lingered particularly long on Lysta and Natalie. How in the world had everything gotten so messed up so quick?

You freaked out, remember?

Not my fault. Natalie had to get all insistent and bitchy, and then the Sergeant showed up with a gun. Not my fault at all. THEIR fault.

If you hadn’t come nothing would’ve happened.

If I hadn’t come she wouldn’t know Milovanovic is here!

That doesn’t seem to matter much to her does it? She needs her beauty rest so the other person that can control people’s minds will just have to wait.

And how many people will be brainwashed while dear Princess gets her rest?

Between zero and the entire crew of the Yeager. Nothing to worry about.

The beginnings of another morbid laugh started deep in Bushra’s chest but she managed to kill this one before it escaped. In its place she let out a short, half pain half frustration, sigh and took a slow step towards the exit.

What if that’s what she wants you to—

Oh Shut up for the last time. THIS is why you shouldn’t think about this. She’s not controlling you and that’s all there is to it. Everything you’ve been doing can be perfectly explained by it being either the right thing to do or being precipitated by you overthinking the right thing to do because you worried it was what she wanted you to do.

…Which is exactly what she’d want me to think if—

NO. Shutupshutupshutupshutupshutupshutupshutupshutup…

“Shall we take this outside? It’d be terrible to interrupt the Princess’s beauty rest after all.”

In the sweet, merciful name of Allah woman that is the LAST thing you should say right now!

But she’s sitting by and doing nothing while Milovanovic is cavorting around doing who-knows-what! She’s the only one that can do anything! She’s the only one that can help and she’s sleeping in a BED! Which is exactly what we should expect...

Well then, other people will just have to handle it.

Great plan. I know, you can find Milovanovic and knock her out. That’s a great plan right? I mean, aside from the fact that Milovanovic would know the plan and then be able to stop it with her THOUGHTS in an instant. But ignoring that, great plan.

Shutup.

Friederike barely reacted in time when Bushra tackled her to the ground. when Friederike fell, she hit her head against the gurney that was right behind her with a loud thud. She ignored the pain and grabbed Bushra by the collar of her uniform and drew her hand back, ready to hit her again. Suddenly, a strange force overpowered the two of them and caused their foreheads to smack against on another with great force. Friederike grunted in pain as she let go of Bushra's collar.

The two of them slowly got up from the floor. Friederike glanced over to Bushra who was holding her head. She drew back ready to strike when Hanna's voice permeated from the infirmary. Friederike's hand fell to her side as she listened to Hanna. [Forgive me Princess Hanna, but I know the animosity she has for you. I can not standby and watch as a foreigner tries to kill a member of the royal family. I will not let her start a war because of her own personal problems.] Friederike said in german.

Beatrice finally made it to the medical bay. What she saw almost made her facepalm: Lysta's familiar was active, a gun was being pointed at Eeva and Natalie, Anastasia's legs were badly burned, and Bushra and Friederike looked as though they'd just fought each other.

"Lysta," she said finally, addressing the one witch who appeared to be most in control of the situation, "what just happened? And is there anything I can do?"

Hanna sighed. "[It's not entirely her fault, she lives under a regime that treats minorities only slightly better than they were in the Confederacy of Liberion. And to think, four years ago the Ottoman prince said he wanted to marry me. The nerve of him...]"

Sohvi was pacing, contemplating what her next move to be, when Matilde's message went through the comms. Instantly Sohvi froze, feeling her blood run icy cold, and Ruya paled to the point where she almost looked Caucasian instead of Arabic.

"If you'll excuse us for a moment, we need to head to the brig. Immediately."

The two ran in lockstep into the brig. What they saw was something no human should ever have to see, let alone a 13-year-old. Sohvi suppressed the urge to vomit. Ruya was not so lucky, adding her breakfast to the gibs on the floor.

Ruya spoke into the comm. "I want Every. Crewman. And. Witch. on this ship onto the deck. Immediately. Someone did... this and I'm going to find out who. Anyone who fails to get on deck within the next 5 minutes and isn't in the infirmary wearing a tin hat is a suspect." The two ran back onto the deck, followed by the captain of the ship and first mate, along with all the bridge crew.

Yuri looked at Sohvi when she emerged into the brig. Listened to her, then followed her up on to the carriers deck. Shortly after Yuki emerged from the depths of the carrier and took her position in line.

Natalie herd the call over the radio and looked at Lysta. "Well miss AK bitch, looks like I get to go away this time, and remember again who outranks you. I would try something like that again if I were you." And with that the enraged Natalie walked out of the medical bay and onto the carrier deck.
"Lieutenant Natalie Petersdotter reporting for duty sir." She said with a salute before taking her place in line.

Lysta sighed and sat down on the bed, having her blood soaked bandages removed. "What a low-class whore. Doesn't she know that in the case of terroristic threats rank means nothing." She sighed again as her hound ears and tail disappeared. "That's what I get for trying to keep order in this unit. Nagged and insulted by a girl who'd be a better picking up spent shell casings than fighting a real girl's fight. They must be seriously undermanned to have her as high of a rank as she is." She cuddled her gun between her bossom, hugging it tightly. "Seriously, can you believe she mistook you for an AK? Threatening? But you're so goddamn cuuute!" She frowned at the assault rifle, which was a Zavasta M70, not an AK there was a massive difference, definitely... To her at least. She winced as the doctor reapplied the bandages to her legs, but otherwise was quiet.

Bushra leaned away from the exit of the infirmary when Natalie went through it, halfway worried Lysta was going to actually shoot.

When Lysta sat down on one of the hospital beds instead, she ducked out of the infirmary as well. Staying one moment longer wasn’t anything she wanted to do anyways and the Captain’s broadcast just emphasized it.

Emerging from the infirmary, Bushra let out a long breath. That had certainly not gone the way she had expected.

And how did you expect it to go?

Bushra frowned, she didn’t have an answer for that. She had gone in to warn the Princess about Milovanovic…right?

There wasn’t another reason at all?

Without an answer to the thought, Bushra turned and slowly began to walk towards the deck once again. With one hand she briefly massaged the now swollen shut eye Friederike had hit.

First Adela and now Friederike and Anastasia? Just how many times are you going to roll over whenever someone hits you?

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. It’s what you did with the Ottomans, why should it be any different here?

Shutup.

Ooh, hit close to home there? Even now it’s what you’re doing, rolling over and traipsing up to the deck without so much as a thought. What if Ruya’s being controlled by Milovanovic and this is just a reason to—

OH NO. You are not starting that again.

It’s a legitimate possibility!

NO.

Despite the insistence of her denial, the thought took hold slightly in Bushra’s mind.

It WAS a possibility.

What if Milovanovic is trying to get everyone on the deck so the Illyrians can strafe it and wipeout most of the crew!

NO, NO, NO. You were wrong about the Princess and you’re wrong now.

You don’t know that. The Captain might not be in control of herself! ‘anyone not on deck in five minutes is a suspect’? Doesn’t that sound odd to you? What could possibly be bad enough to warrant a shipwide search?

Perhaps, I don't know, the hashashin that's on board? Y'know, what with the whole being a killer and all. I doubt Westerners find their particular modus operandi comforting.

You can’t be serious?

It’s a legitimate possibility.

Bushra laughed lightly at the twisted thought as she walked up the stairs that led to the carrier’s deck, then silenced it when she realized it was out loud.

Fine, when Milovanovic tells you to shoot yourself or something though don’t think I didn’t warn you!

Quit being melodramatic.

When Beatrice heard Ruya's order, it took a moment for it to register. When it did, she was confused.

What the heck could have happened? I mean, it's not like those Il-whatsit rebels are going to attack, so why is she ordering everyone to the deck?

She shook her head and left the medical bay.

Well, might as well go and see what's up. We'll find out soon enough...

As she walked down the passageway and up the stairs, she felt very tired.

But you're so goddamn cuuute!" Sarah was confused as hell, this team seemed completely in pieces, not an elite team at all. And even she started to look tired by this, as she could not remember at all when she took that knife from the armory. She was sure she took only the AT Rifle and put her old guns inside.

Hearing Ruya in the comm, she decided to go upstairs in the Deck, curious and scared of whatever else it might have happened. Things were not going good at all. This was the only thing sure. And she started to have also memories problem and headaches....

Matilde heard Ruya's radio message, and took Svetlana by hand. "Here....let's get moving." she said, before leading herself and the Orussian on the deck of the Yeager.
She kneelt before Svetlana, putting her hands over her pale cheeks, eyeing her in a concerned manner.
"Don't worry....Sveta. We aren't there anymore..."

Friederike gave a blank expression at Hanna's mentioning of the Ottoman prince wanting to marry her. She remembered that was all the Karlslandic media talked about, the union between Princess Hanna and the Ottoman prince, the long lasting peace between the two nation. Friederike didn't care about the politics behind the whole thing, she was a witch and she knew what her place was.

When Friederike calmed down and the adrenaline wore off, she felt a sharp pain in the back of her head. She reached her hand back and touched the back of her head. She felt a sticky substance clinging to her white hair. She knew right way that she was bleeding and what caused hit was her head hitting against the metal gurney when Bushra tackled her. Friederike walked into the infirmary and took some gauze from one of the nurses. She wrapped the gauze around her head a couple of times. Once the gauze was secure around her head, she placed the remaining gauze on a table and walked back up to the flight deck.

Lysta paused at Eeva's question. "Why would someone's uncle blow himself up in a subway station when he knew he was on his way to his niece's eighth birthday party? If that girl was waiting for him at the edge of the station, watching him press the detonation trigger, looking into his eyes, would that give her the right to take the mention of such things very seriously?" She paused and looked away, motioning for a nurse to bring her a wheelchair. "I suppose we'll be late, you should run ahead. No use getting slowed down by my wheel chair. Besides, there are certain people already suspecting me of treasonous behavior, even if I'm innocent."
She lowered herself into the chair and began rolling towards the door, making a significant effort not to make it look difficult.

Lysta sighed. "Who knows what he was thinking..." Her voice trailed off softly.
She let out a startled squeak as Eeva grabbed her wheelchair and pushed it along. She had not expected Eeva to actually push the wheelchair of the woman who'd pointed a gun at her.
She looked away, slightly blushing, "Don't think this will make her look any better in my eyes. She still mistook my gun for an AK. That's unforgivable." She looked back slightly, catching Eeva's eye for a second before turning back rapidly. "... But I... I guess you have a point about that... and well... I... wouldn't be against playing cards with some girls my age for once..."

Continuing to tease the girl they soon arrived at their destination, Eeva stood beside Lysta's chair while waiting for the others to come to the deck.

"I wonder what happened down in the brig..........." murmured Eeva as she waited.

Svetlana merely limped involuntarily with Matilde as she was led back on deck. Considerably paler than before, she did not look as much like a ghost as she did a deathless phantom. As much as she would have taken most gruelling sights, this was just too much for her. Staggering like a zombie, she could only trail Matilde silently as she was pulled alongside her.
