Short Bio:
The Second Republic of Costa Rica was established June 22nd, 1949 after the civil war of '48. Costa Rica was a supporter in word of the allies up until the invasion of the USA, when it became neutral. The nation itself sought its own protection from other Latin American powers and especially from the Germans. Seeking the benevolent side of said nation and its allies.
After the establishment of the 2nd republic the leaders of the government sought to establish a purely democratic nation and promoted civism instead of militarism, even though the military was highly developed.
After the fall of the United States, Costa Rica focused on developing its relations with its neighbours and its economy. The 6o's brought a pan-hispanic movement that focused on the political, social and economic integration of the former Spanish colonies which the nation adopted politically and since then until present times has tried to unite the central american nations into one, with no avail and certain pressures from germany.
The nation, due to its high civism and democratic values became a hotspot for immigration. Due to this reason, in the late 80's, the nation adopted highly restrictive immigration policies, but has adjusted them to fit Germany's demands.
Despite the high democratic values of the nation, germany still dominates much of the internal policies of the nation, and has often given in to pressure in order to assure the nation's integrity and maintain peace. However, despite pressures from the outside world, politics were strictly conservative and after the 60's pro-hispanic. The nation is a strong ally to many rebellious factions constantly and effectively keeping its actions out of the watchful eyes of Germany.
