She took the string gratefully. "Thank you Bones."
"I am," she said. "He must be made to go out, because I will not abandon my place in his favor."
Meanwhile, outside, the boy searched about the yard. He calmly looked though shrubbery, behind fence posts, and inbetween crevices in the building.
"Chirp?" a little chipmunk bounded up to him, tilting it's head curiously.
"Oh hello," he smiled at it, and held his hand out to it.
The chipmunk cheerfully crawled into the boy's hand and snuggle his fingers. Seemingly to pet it, the boy settled his other hand over the creature, and did not release when it began to struggle and squeak in fear and confusion. If we could look in his hands, we would see that the little animal's shadow seemed to wrap around it and consume it, making it smaller and smaller...
And it was gone.
"Well, it's a start." said the boy with optimism, as he dusted off his hands. "The daughter will be significantly more difficult, but the premise is similar. And the whistle will be worth the trouble."

Hey who are you?

hey who may you be?
The boy regarded the two of them.
"... Oh my. You two are definitely bigger than what I expected the Dragoness's daughter to keep company with. Aw well. My name is not important." He looked past them, about and around. "Here now, little ones. I have... a purse, here with me. It's a special purse that can give you any physical amount of wealth you desire, no problem, but first tell me, have you seen a young teenage girl around these parts? Covered in paint and art supplies, most likely frequently babbles incoherently about things?"

"Oh?" he said with challenge, stepping forward. "Tell me dear ones, why do you trust her so much? Hmm? Because you simply met her first? Seems like a pretty dull reason to me." He sniffed indignantly. "Tell me, just how much has she told you about herself? Huh? I bet it's not much. Last time I checked, that is cause for suspicion, don't you think? You can't just go about taking sides with her because she's a cute little girl or something equally stupid."
